The Tsimbazaza Botanical and Zoological Park was created in 1925 under the name of "Tananarivo Botanical Garden". In accordance with decree n ° 93-162 of March 13, 1993 establishing the Statute of the Botanical and Zoological Park of Tsimbazaza (PBZT), the PBZT is a Public Establishment with an administrative nature and a cultural and scientific vocation, endowed with legal personality and 'administrative and financial autonomy. It is under technical supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific and Financial Research of the Ministry of Finance and Budget.

Unfortunately, quite poor garden, suffering animals in unsufficient conditions, mess and rubbish all over the garden, damaged plants and trees (marked and scratched by visitors), many empty spaces, dead animals (I saw 1 bird and 1 chameleon). Well, don't expect standards like in developed countries. Artificially created biotopes have a nice idea, but the reality will bring disappointment..

We visited only thebotanical gardens as we already had seen the lemurs at the National Park. The guide was very knowledgeable about the endemic plants. We learned how fig trees can co-exist with palm trees; saw several boabob trees; and toched velvety plant called Napoleon hat. The tour lasted 1,5 hours with a short break at the cafe. Would highly recommend to families with children and nature lovers. On Sunday, the park was busy with locals.

It's a fun place if you don't want to get out to one of the national parks or reserves and just see some animals and the variety of plants Madagascar has right here in Tana! Locals basically go in for free, we opted not to have a guide and just roamed around on our own. We had a fun time on their manual ferris-wheel... it was a person jumping on it and pulling it down by force, so fun!

A very rich zoo. Birds, reptiles, batracians, and most of all lemurs are kinds of species you can see. You can also find many interesting tropical plants there. Once you enter the gate, you'll feel like you are in a tropical jungle. You will forget that you are in the capital of Madagascar. Bonus : ther is a museum inside.

Enjoyed my visit to the Zoo/Botanical gardens with Malagasy friends. Didn't know what to expect but liked the relaxed atmosphere. Only disappointment for the 3 of us was was the cafe. Apart from the cafe a nice enjoyable and relaxing 2 hours. Would visit again when returning to Tana
Really great experience, saw many different animals while walking around. Very vibrant and wonderful atmosphere however I didn't see a Lion, Zebra, Giraffe and Hippo together. The monkeys were nice though.

Fácil acesso, foi bom e custou € 3,00 adulto e criança grátis. Banheiro não é grátis ! CUIDADO TODOS PEDEM DINHEIRO INCLUSIVE PESSOAS QUE TRABALHAM NESSE LUGAR !

Not well kept. We were there November 2019 and there wasn’t much to it. It was great to see the camels it had and the lake and some of the trees but not much.

One of the saddest places I’ve ever been. The place is completely trashed, the cages and facilities in awful condition. The animals are worse. It’s shameful that it is open in those conditions. Plus, since is one of the few green areas of
Fajne i urokliwe miejsce, zwłaszcza w kontekście z miastem, tworzy zielona enklawę.

Sinon, balade sympa

The best about it the guide, check out Bruno he's fun, informative and passionate. The zoo is small but had over 14 types of lemurs. This is a caged zoo, but a good place to start learning about what to expect.
really nice place, some lemur kept telling me that he likes to quote " move it move it". Saw 4 penguins as well, though i dont think that they should b there. 4 stars, would "move it, move it" again.
Nice place. Tsimbazaza Zoo and Botanical Gardens is located in Antananarivo, Madagascar. It is a popular tourist attraction that showcases a variety of animal species and botanical collections.
I was very pleased with my experience, I loved to see Alex the lion but I was disappointed that I could not find the penguins. Highly recommend Gloria the Hipoo
This is a pretty sad site all around. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I came to look for talking lions and zebras that spit at each other. No luck i have been lied to my whole life. cages :(((((((((
housing is brilliant 4/5 not enough humans put on display for my own twisted entertainment

The animals are excellent te tour guide also but the zoo isin a very bad condition. They must support it economically.
Very good place but got neglected, many species of Madagascar's animals. The place is not far from the downtown.
not enough monkeys.

We were given a guided tour of the reptile and Lemur sections by a very friendly and knowledgeable man.
It's a decent place to take a walk. Get cool with the grandsmen they may get you close to the lemurs
