Do not rent from this place! It is sincerely terrible. This is the first review I've written in my life... Short version: rented a bike that had a broken front wheel that eventually came loose. Staff was unhelpful once notified of issue, waited an inhumanely long time for problem to be resolved while stranded 1 hour walking distance from bike store. Photos below to verify my rental. Long version: I am familiar with bikes – I own one at home and bike to work every day. I rented a bike here, for 1 day, and was assured it was brand new, functional, and "a very good bike." I was told to call the shop if I had any problems whatsoever. Alas, I biked for 30 minutes on a normal, flat route, and the front wheel of the bike came loose! It was wobbling from side to side, making biking in a straight line impossible. Very dangerous. At that point I was 1 hour walking distance from the bike store, and had no way to return. All fine. I called the shop to let them know of the issue, expecting a helpful solution. The staff was very difficult to communicate with. They told me they would call me back within 15 minutes, and I should just wait at the location I was. More than 20 minutes later, they called to say they could come pick me up, but it would be another 30 minutes to 1 hour wait. This was understandable, I didn't expect them to drop everything immediately. However, I had limited time at this point, and could not afford to sit and wait. I told them I would just walk back to the bike shop, it would be faster. The staff member told me that this was fine, that would make it easier for him if I just returned it to the bike shop, and that he'd meet me there in an hour. One hour later, I arrived at the bike shop, and alas, was told to "wait 5 minutes" for the staff member to show up. Of course, 5 minutes turned into OVER 30 minutes! At that point, I was just glad I didn't wait to be picked up. Finally, the staff member appeared, inspected the bike, and told me I wold not be charged for the rental, and gave me a very cursory apology. I'm sure they have harmless intentions and are fine people, but the experience was just terrible. Not only was the broken bike very dangerous to be on, the service was hilariously lackluster. Don't rent from here. Just don't.

Long haired guy had extremely zero experience dealing with customers, asked him if i can pump up my bike tire as usual , after experiencing a problem with pumping asked him if he had compressor then he went angry and asked for money which is still ok for me , after he tried inside the store and he knew that i have Dutch bank account he went mad because he thought that I won’t be able to pay him then he can take a point on me , he went mad because i told him ok let’s pay and i do not need anything more ( as he wanted to try to charge me a cost for a new tire and started to be aggressive and swearing with his own language before using Dutch then he switched after he knew I understand Some Dutch . At last, was horrible experience. You can check another repair shop just behind the street of this horrible one . And he is know replying saying that I didn’t had cash or Dutch card. ( seems logical as i went to Amsterdam holding only my bike ) and now you can know more about his mentality and personality from his reply comment below. (PS: i told him before leaving that i will make sure that i will review what happened today on google and his answer was : i am dealing with three id..io.ts like you everyday ) That’s all and wishing everyone a good luck.

Incredibly unkind. Had a flat tire and Googled to find a quality repair shop. Walked in and was immediately helped by Damir who started examining the bike. When the owner came out and told me they should patch it because it would take too long to replace the tube, I asked if the patch would be a temporary or permanent solution. He immediately refused me service saying he did not like my accent or my energy. He believed that if something went wrong with the bike afterwards, I would blame him and leave a bad review. If something had gone wrong, I would have assumed bad luck or that there was a problem with the bike and not the service. This review is not because of bad service or too expensive prices. It’s simply because when I needed help after a long day that ended in a flat tire, he chose to be unkind rather than decent. For someone who said he only works with people who have positive energy, he didn’t seem to have much of his own. The one gold star is for Damir who was kind and helped carry my bike out of the shop – thank you

Absolutely excellent service. I went at 5PM on a Monday with a gear problem. The guy there immediately saw me, checked the bike, and let me know what he thought the problem was. I left my bike expecting it to take a while, but thirty minutes later it was done! He even fixed a few other issues (cleaned inside the front light so the batteries would work, and adjusted the handlebar rubber sleeve that was loose) that I hadn’t even mentioned. I couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience, he was really nice and it was all for a GREAT price. I’m definitely coming back next time I have any issues!

My name is Auny and I did an internship at Amsterdam Bike Store for my studies. It was the most rewarding work experience I've ever had. His understanding, patience and passion for bikes were felt throughout my 2 months at his side. Now I can repair bikes easily and don't need a mechanic anymore (it seemed impossible at the beginning). If you have studies in the world of cycling or entrepreneurship do not hesitate and go for it, he will know how to transmit all his knowledge. The shop owner is super nice!! Last week my bike fell down while parked, and I found it started to become hard to ride on it. There was also a wired sound appearing when I was biking. I just passed by this shop, and asked the owner to help me solve the problem. He found my tire was stuck with the fender, and he just help me to fix it immediately! He also asked for nothing, because he said that this situation is not on his price list. Eventually I shared an orange in my bag with him. What a lovely person☺️☺️ Really makes my day!! Very impolite guy. I was just asking for nut for my back wheel, apparently it came off. First asked me if I was willing to pay, of course I am. Then kept me waiting for a couple mins during his sigaret and started helping the lady that came in after me. When I asked him if he was still going to help met he said ‘No and screamed at me to leave’. This was so rude and weird. The other lady and I were shocked. I left and so this is all I can do. Good luck, maybe consider a profession without customer contact.

Dropped my bike here after coming back from a holiday and seeing it looked like it had been hit by a car. I had little hope for a cost efficient repair so even offered a trade-in and to buy a new bike up to 150 euro. The owner told me it was a good bike so he would do his best to fix it, 3 hours and 60 euro later all done!! I was super impressed with the speed and cost efficiency - I can imagine that other places might have said it was beyond repair to sell me a new bike! Thank you!

Fast, friendly, quality service at fair prices. I won't go anywhere else to get my bike fixed. Got a new front tire, new handlebars, fixed my kickstand, adjusted the seat, and did a thorough check of the brakes, chain, and frame. Same day service (could have been just a couple of hours but I was not in a hurry). Really patient with my terrible Dutch! I also rent bikes here for friends who come to town.

Don't waste your time coming here if you're in need of bike repair. That ridiculous man wasted my entire evening waiting for him to fix my bike and when I returned the second time he still hadn't it done. This evening was the only opportunity I had before the weekend to get the repairs done, so now I face a €300+ uber bill for the rest of the week thanks to this fellows unprofessionalism. Avoid.

I had a recurring flat tire, even after getting a new inner tire at another shop. While selling me a new inner tire would have been more profitable, the shopkeeper offered an inexpensive, definitive solution: they carefully inspected and identified the root cause - a tiny little metal scrap stuck in the outer tire. So they saved me money and a whole lot of future troubles.

Mijn ketting was van mijn fiets. Ik had een dichte ketting kast waardoor ik het niet zo makkelijk zelf kon doen. Omdat het zondag was, waren alle andere fietsen makers in de buurt gesloten. Dus ik was super blij dat de amsterdam bike store open was. Daarnaast werd ik direct geholpen en stond ik 10 minuten later weer op straat met een ketting die fietst als een zonnetje!

Beste fietsenwinkel van Amsterdam! De eigenaar is super vriendelijk die alles eraan doet dat je super snel weer de weg op kan, wat een kers op de taart is....de prijs! Die is tenminste normaal vergeleken alle andere. Nieuwe fiets daar gekocht en nog steeds helemaal happy ermee, gratis onderhoudsbeurt na 3 maanden. Als je in West woont ga hier heen. Top fietsenmaker!

excellent service! my front wheel was misaligned from a mild bumper bashing yesterday. took my bike in earlier to see if it was fixable (expecting the worst) and after a few minutes of tinkering the repairman had sorted it out - free of charge. i am so moved by this kindness and impressed by his expertise! looking forward to bringing my business here in the future.

After so many searches on google and in person, I just came across this store with a nice guy that explained me everything about bikes and riding them in Amsterdam, as I’m a new expat here. It was amzing that he didn’t want to sell me a bike, just recommend or offer me. I just got a good second hand bike with a good price. I’m happy with my choice.

Had a wonderful experience renting a bike for one day here! The owner was extremely helpful, showing exactly how to lock the bike, where to “park” it; in addition, adjusted the seat so it fit me perfectly. We shared a great conversation about electronic music, too. Will definitely rent from him again next time I’m in Amsterdam ⭐️

Perfecte service! Ik heb mijn fiets hier nu drie keer laten repareren, steeds voor verschillende problemen. Je wordt hier ontzettend vriendelijk geholpen. De fiets is altijd snel klaar (zelfde dag of meestal binnen een half uurtje). En je betaalt altijd een stuk minder dan je vooraf verwacht. Zeker een aanrader dus!

They fixed my bike immediately and the guy was super friendly. I am very happy with it. They also recommend some other things to do but didn’t force it. The only thing is he said he a new chain would be 17.5 while in the end he charged me that price for just putting the old chain in again. So it was quite pricey

Kwam binnen met een band die steeds leegliep, dus deze zou geplakt worden. Binnen 2 uurtjes kon dit geregeld worden en kon ik weer naar huis. Helaas de volgende ochtend toch weer een lege band… :-( Misschien pech, want verder was het prima service. Woon helaas niet in de buurt voor een herkansing.

Cannot recommend this place enough! While we didn’t even rent our bikes from this particular shop, the staff was more than willing to help with an emergency repair to a bike from another rental shop. If we had to do it again, we’d rent from here instead! Thank you so much.
