A cute pit stop for coffee and breakfast with good value, service, and taste. Very friendly service by Lisa and Leah (hope names are correct, from hearing them). Their greetings were friendly and we were asked if we wanted water which arrived in a very unique bottle with a cork, which I can appreciate being Portuguese Lisa, the barista, appeared to have excellent barista skills, and I could appreciate the quality of her coffee and the cleanliness around the coffee machine. Smashed Avo tasted nice and bigger than expected, with nice presentation on the plate. Decor of this venue, along with some creative signage, creates a nice atmosphere for a quick stop in the morning or if you're passing by the area. If you're visiting by car, you can find parking in nearby side streets with a 2 hour limit or bus stop close by also.

This is a great little local cafe. Service is so warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. There was a range of fresh baked breads and treats available as well as wraps. We tried the Blueberry banana bread which was super moist and delicious. Coffee and hot chocolate’s perfect too.

Fantastic local gem with home baked cakes. Very cosy interiors, great friendly service with a smile and yummy food. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that the coffee is a bit too much of an Italian roast (Gabrielle) but I can see why other people might like it.

The batista Heru makes a great coffee! Always greeted with a friendly smile. The brekky wrap with a coffee is the perfect start to the morning. Also dog friendly, definitely reccomend this place if you're in the area. A++ Little Ethel's may be small but it packs a powerful punch of coffee which will leave you wanting to come back for more

Fabulous little coffee and bites place. It’s not very obvious that this place is a cafe but they serve excellent coffee and the food looks good too. I will give the food a try this week. Very friendly staff and prices are quite reasonable. Happily come here any day for coffee and food.

I have been going here since it opened some time in 2010...the ever cheery Jamie no longer owns the place, but Chanelle has taken up the baton and is running with it! Lots of local / returning customers, friendly to kids, great coffee and whether you have a sweet tongue or not, you must try the in-house caramel slice!

Oh my god!!!!! I took a sip and went “wow!!!” Absolutely incredible almond flat white! I don’t know what magic went into the cup, but it’s truly one of those blissful caffeinated moments! Definitely coming back! Love love love

I've only been here once, but: Service was good and they seemed to have a fare few regular customers. Coffee was quite good. Can't say much about the food as I only had the fruit salad, but that was nicely balanced with a good range of fruit and nothing too dominant. Great place to sit and read.

Great coffee, friendly service and quality selection of breakfast goods to go. With being new to the area I was recommended by a friend and after today’s experience I will definitely become a regular - thank you for a great experience. Look forward to trying more off your menu soon.

Having driven past this little joint countless times I thought it was worth a visit. Pleasantly surprised and well run café. Their coffee has great taste and they even bake their own stuff. Coconut almond cake is a must. Love the German influences inside. More

Situated on a main road out of Balmain I always walk down here to get their amazing coffee before heading into the city. They have an interesting decor and their food looks delicious even and I have the intention of trying it when I'm not there so early.

Lena is fantastic- she saved my life- prepared the delicious breakfast on Sunday

Firstly, they make the best banana bread ever - I could eat a full loaf of it in a weekend! The staff are great, they always remember your name and make you feel like a VIP whenever you visit. This is the best place to get a coffee and snack.

They make all of their baked goods in-house. I’d been craving a decent carrot cake for ages, then found this gem. Moist, nutty, with slightly caramelised crust. Cute cutlery too - nice little touch. Serve Gabriel coffee.

Only 2 workers make the coffee because they REALLY know how to make a good coffee. Friendly staff. Indoor/outdoor seating so you can bring your dog. Water bowl for dog. Toasted ham, cheese and tomatoes delicious.
