Oh my gosh, guys -- this is the PLACE for pure relaxation and bliss. I watched a video on Japanese head spas years ago, and couldn't find anything in my country that remotely came close to the service or experience. When I knew I was going to Japan, I immediately started researching spas. It took a while, but I eventually found Spa Hinoki. I love that they are English friendly (even though they aren't fluent in it). I don't speak any Japanese, but had no issues communicating with them via email prior. You send them a message, listing what service you're looking for, and what date/time. They respond in your language and coordinate. They are located in a nice area of Tokyo (in a quieter neighborhood). Just look for the little white light fixture in front, right off the main alley. The space is serene and peaceful. I was greeted upon arrival and they were so sweet from start to finish! They do note that they don't speak English, but I had zero issues communicating with my hairdresser. She indicates when she needs you to do something (lie back, close your eyes, etc). And the experience itself was everything I expected -- it was honestly dreamy (yes, a slice of heaven) and the most relaxed I'd been all year! I definitely dozed off at one point. And afterwards the owner walked me out and made sure I wasn't waiting in the rain alone -- she was so sweet and lovely!! If I hadn't left Tokyo so soon after, I would have gone back for another service!

Over the years I have been to a number of Tokyo head spas. Because of Spa Hinoki's rating I thought I would give it a try. For me the experience was unexpectedly not great. Two rustic treatment rooms are at the top of a flight of stairs decorated with a large arrangement of plastic flowers. The room I was assigned was humid, a bit musty and warm; I asked if it could be made cooler. The space contained many items and basins of equipment not used for my treatment; they should instead be placed in storage or cabinets so the room could look more inviting and organized. My treatment was an 85 minute experience which also included a bit of foot reflexology which I enjoyed. Two shampoos and many oils later I noticed my hair was not rinsed well enough at the back. I dried it as best I could, but felt pressure to finish up quickly; after 10 minutes I was asked if I had finished. I quickly drank two sips of tea when the bill was presented to me, also in the treatment room. I know the woman who worked on me tried and did have to be mindful of time, but I felt so hurried after an experience which is supposed to be relaxing. I didn't feel I could ask her to rinse my hair again. This treatment - cost wise - is essentially middle of the road, but was less or more than other spas I much preferred a few months ago. When I arrived home I had to wash my hair again to remove the oil which had not been rinsed.

First time having a head spa treatment. It was quite an experience! I went with the Reviving Therapy course (90min). The hair treatments included a scalp steam, face massage, scalp massage, very thorough shampoo, and moisturizing serum on scalp. They also do a shoulder and foot massage and even put little hot stones in between each of your toes. One of my favorite parts of the massage was the face massage. She hit all the right pressure points that made it so much more relaxing. The scalp steam was a trip. It got really hot at the end and I was so relieved when she unwrapped my head. It kinda felt like you had a sealed vacuum of steam around your scalp. The staff doesn’t speak English fluently but they do their very best and it wasn’t an issue to communicate with them. They were also very responsive via email which is how we booked our appointment. I loved how they even walked us outside to say goodbye. I would definitely recommend them for anyone interested in a Japanese head spa.

Amazing, 10/10! I went in Oct2023 and did the Reviving Therapy (90 min). Booking the appointment was easy, it done over email and in English. At the actual appointment, my masseuse was very kind and even though she knew little English, she knew enough to communicate with me/instruct me. The spa is very clean and beautiful. I first was able to use the restroom, then got undressed & dressed into their towels where the treatment took place. The masseuse confirmed the treatment I was going to have then we got started. She ensured the pressure of the massage was comfortable for me. Overall, it felt really great. I really enjoyed the treatment and felt relaxed. At the end, I chose a tea from a couple of options. I combed and blowdried my own hair. It was hard to get changed and leave because I didn’t want it to end. I truly can’t wait to come back, and I’ll choose a longer treatment for next time! I highly recommend if you’re in need of relaxation.

One word, PURE BLISS! I had the pleasure of having Megumi and my husband had mayu. According to my husband mayu was great, and so was megumi. This was the only time I felt like I was flying and I couldn’t feel anything. I have never felt this kind of relax ever and I did here. I really wish I can bring this place home with me. The price is very reasonable. At the end of our session they offered us some tea and juice and some nice shampoo to bring back home! Absolutely love his place. Update 2022 9th December Just went there and took my siblings and husband too and once again the most blissful experience and wonder ladies, doing absolutely wonderful job!

I went for the head spa treatment on Tuesday, 12 December 2023 at 4pm. From the start, Yukami took care of my needs tremendously with her exceptional service. Her touches & strokes were firm yet delicate. I was at ease throughout the treatment which consisted of scalp cleansing, eye massage & scalp massage amongst others. At the end of the 100-minute session, I felt recharged & energised. It was an excellent form of self care. Yukami made this experience a memorable one. I would gladly recommend Spa Hinoki to my family & friends.

What an incredible experience! The staff were so lovely and the massage and head spa was so comfortable and relaxing. Definitely worth the price and it was more intimate and relaxing than the bigger places where everyone goes to. Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone wanting a head spa!

The most relaxing experience, staff were so friendly and kind. I had the scalp treatment II and enjoyed every second of it. I felt comfortable and very taken care of. This was my first head spa and I will definitely be coming back here should I be in Tokyo again.
