"So disappointing going to a movie here lately"
When you go out toa movie the many people that sit in the same theater expects things to start on time unusual things do happen when an employee tells customers theaters were messing up . When I went to AMC Fashion cashiers are to be prepped on finding things for customers not argue with finding there movie ticket . The many theaters that I have been is that all info should be made sure all things are correct . Standing inline trying to see milar boards that are dark and explaining my phone number several times made me concerned customers info is not put In correctly . Yes Fashion Valley theater is very nice with older that cannot see the times boards or how much they charge preshow . The many theaters here in San Diego are very nicer customer service and the way a place starts a show on time are very beneficial . When you don't have a time schedule that doesn't run well Custer's go else where . The movie in question was the new James bond film that was the greatest movie the final of the is go out and see the movie . To the many staff members there was no managers that would have come and told the customers it was not a very good customer service.
This was my first time being here and i will never go back!!!!! My friend and I had went later to the movie so we could get decent parking but as we entered there was no one at the guest services to assist us. We purchased our tickets and proceeded to the bar, which is one of the main reasons I go and there was also no one there but when they came back they told us that they were closing, When we sat and waited for 5-10 minutes just for someone to help us. Then we went to the concession stand where I specifically like the half and half Caramel and Cheese popcorn which they had none of and told us that they don’t have anything on the menu that has to be cooked mind you they don’t close for an hour and they are still selling tickets. If they are not going to allow us to bring our own food in without a hassle they need to be considerate enough to have food and snacks for people who look forward to things like this. I have no desire to go back and this absolutely ruined my experience. I’ll stick to HBO max and showtime at home next time.
This would have been an almost perfect review. Had one incident not happened. Everything is great the price for the location is Excellent. Right before the movie began there was the Opening scene where I decided to randomly make some funny noises. Which was okay because the movie hadn’t even begun playing so I didn’t disrupt the movie at all. However once the movie began I decided to go head out for some water because I had been thirsty. When I left and came back the lady had gone probably to call the manager or someone to handle us. When the guy working came in he had told us that had been watching us despite not being very disruptive. But in fact, when I had gone to drink water apparently the people besides us were making more noise. It mixed up my experience. This theater is of great potential. I’d recommend that instead of assuming to ask questions. Because we had done nothing wrong. After a while the people sitting beside us had left the movie.
The theater was nice but I had the worst experience with the concessions that I've ever had at a theater. My husband and I ate dinner shortly before we went to the movie. So we waited about 45 minutes into the movie to get some popcorn. The wonderful smell was in the air and everyone seemed to be enjoing their popcorn. So I went out to get some for us and the young man at the register said, "Sorry, we just threw it all out.. We need to get out of here at 10:30." The way he said it was rude and as if he could care less. This was at 9:30 pm and our movie still had a little over an hour to go. When we went in to the theater, no body let us know if you want any food or drinks you better grab them now. I feel if there is a movie still playing, you should at least be able to purchase popcorn and a drink. It was our first time going to Fashion Valley 18 and we were extremely disappointed .
So disappointing going to a movie here lately. You pay $15 for the movie, another $20 for refreshments and in return you have to watch the movie with annoying audience members too self absorbed to care about anyone else, with their cell phones on (and on bright - at least if you're going be an inconsiderate a*s turn down the screen brightness) or having a full on high volume conversation. Where is the staff to do a check? NO where to be found. Right after theaters reopened, I could understand the shortness of staff, however now its not always the case. Like last night's (12/29/21) showing of House of Gucci. No staff to be found walking thru the theater. However you walk out in the lobby and there are 3 of them just hanging out talking in the hallway. AMC DO BETTER! Why keep the membership when you do nothing to provide a value add to your customers?
On Tuesday during studio ghibli fest our theater had so many problems. AC wasn’t working, they couldn’t turn off the lights for 30 minutes, our projector completely stopped working 40 minutes in & there was no staff to help us at all. I get after Covid everywhere is short staffed, but this place really needs it, our theater looked dirty and not cleaned before we even went in. The staff there was nice and all but not having a single person to ask for help downstairs is really inconvenient. We had to take the two escalators back up & then there was still no one to find upstairs. I hope GKIDS contacts them about their quality during the ghibli events because so far this year the movies keep having issues. The theaters downstairs seem to be worse.
I paid to watch a movie and purchased a large beverage, a large popcorn and a cup of cheese. I explained that to the manager on duty and explained to him that the cup of water provided does not fit in the cup holder. It falls right through. I requested a cup of water a size up and explained that I have Invisalign. He said he could provide more cups of water but if i wanted a larger size that I would have to pay for it. I even requested a kid size and was still not assisted. In fairness, paying nearly $50 for tickets to the movie and etc is a lot, needless to say a cup of water shouldn’t have been an issue.
I think the radical race demographic need to be filtered at this location. Had a adult Mexican tell me legit that while he’s been employed and working at this location AMC theaters including Being An AMC A-Listers Membership have $5 manatee before 4pm and it’s can only be Fam favs that are $5. When I presented his failed statement. He still did not sell me a ticket. Mind you just tell two weeks prior I saw Everything Everywhere All At Once during Manatee Hours…movie Wasn’t a fan favorite yet…Then the next week after that I went to see megan and it Manatee hours at 2:30pm
We went to see Avatar last night, which BTW was great. We grabbed more snacks than normal, and wasn't fully paying attention. Like a dummy, I left the candy at the counter, but didn't realize it till we got to our seats. I ran back to see if they were still on the counter, but sadly they were not. I saw the person who was in the area when we made our purchase, and he allowed me to get replacements. Whew! . The theater was very clean, the employees were helpful & friendly. And I love that it's right across the bridge from the parking structure.
This mall is definitely a one stop shop for everything. You have your choice of large department store shopping like Macy's and Bloomingdale's; designer shops like Steve Madden, Michael Kors, Anne Taylor, St. Lauren; and practical wear you can enjoy from JC Penney and Forever 21. The "Food Plaza" is outdoors, upstairs, and covered with plenty of booths, tables, and seating! A variety of eating choices. I took in a great movie upstairs at AMC , "The Woman King!" Clean theater with comfortable seating, and polite staff. I recommend spending a day here.
Let me start off by saying that part of me loved that this AMC still felt like the early 2000s. It’s like a time capsule of when theaters were designed with theming in mind, not a cookie cutter look. That being said, the auditoriums are in desperate need of an upgrade. Size , seats, sound and picture are about 10-15 years out of date by this point. On a positive it was clean and the employees were nice. It’s bring run on a shoestring staff level just like most theaters these days so be prepared to struggle to find someone on some nights.
It's a lovely theater in a good location. The theater is clean and they have good leather seats. Their food prices are a little bit higher than other locations but the food is still pretty good. A food court is literally right outside the theater so you can eat there and then watch a movie and then shop. The mall has tons of different stores (mainly clothing). Note: Half the staff seem done with life and the other half seem to be enjoying life, they are all nice and friendly though.
Facilities are good. The service at concessions was slow. Since they are in Fashion Valley the parking was very busy. The good;: they allowed me back in to attempt to find my wallet which I thought I'd left behind, which I did. The bad: since I had to check under my seat to look for my wallet, I noticed that the cleanup crew could do a better job of it. Was tempted to give a four-rating, but it was very nice to be allowed back in to check my seat.
If you have to sit three hours through avatar, the refreshments need to stay opened until the last hour. Why would you close at 9:30pm, that's not even ten o'clock. With two hours to go, I'm gonna need more refreshments. They actually should have made it with a good old fashioned intermission if they couldn't edit anymore time. 8:30-12am. Close the refreshments an hour in, not a good idea. It's like a double feature. Reopen at 10pm already.
Theater 13 seat L1. Is trash. There are bars in your view and the step area obstructs part of the screen. Truly disappointed. Had to lean into L2 just to see as well as sit up as high as i could just to see the movie with no bars. I felt stupid for coming . Never have i had a view this bad from the last row in a theater. L1 2 and 3 need to be ripped out in my opinion. Buy those seats and know you were warned......
Went to go see the Menu, movie was scheduled to start 9:45pm and didn’t start until 10:55pm, more than an hour later. Last time visiting this AMC, management gives you a voucher and make sure to give you no more than you purchase but can’t make sure to do their job to see if a movie has started, literally the time spent is just a waste of time. As a premier guest, I’m never visiting this AMC location again.
I remember going to this movie theater before this not so good event happened. I would sometimes go to the movie with my friends during the weekends and it was very fun. I missed those days… I want to go there again if I really want to. The seats were fair, the food was pretty good, and the experience was very fun overall! I want to go back and watch a very good movie one day!
Overall nice theater I consider amc the elites of theaters in the San Diego area. Only thing that sucks is how messy the lobby was and how the theater was out of butter. I worked at a theater before and I do understand how hard and tiring to can be cleaning theater's all day but there were a group of workers just standing around when the loby could have been getting cleaned.
I love fashion valley AMC recently started going back its clean big seats and the staff is both polite and positively helpful. Two of the staff helped me fix my stubs account after I paid for the upgrade from the free stubs one young lady even came to make sure that I got my 5 dollar discount!!! Amazing Fashion Valley AMC Go now rent out a whole theater for 99 bucks
To be completely honest I have mixed feelings about this amc.. the staff are super nice but the food just wasn’t good considering the prices. This theater feels kind of cramped. My husband and I got to our movie early and they were still cleaning and asked us to leave which I understand but there are no benches and no signs telling us we needed to wait out side
Sometimes I forget how bad this theater is and always end up back here. The screens are small. The seats are sticky. The sound proofing is sub par, you'll hear teenagers and kids running in the hallways. The staff do what they can with what they have. I always leave this theater wishing I had just waited to stream at home, regardless of how good the movie was.
One of the best shopping malls in the United States...from Scotch & Soda Amsterdam Couture to Lululemon... And thanks to.. Lids.. for embroidering our caps..you will be treated like royalty ...see a good international flick at AMC...please traveler's do not miss out on all the specials they have...lovin it in San Diego...Thank You for viewing ...D Third Eye
It's my first time back since the pandemic began. I had no idea how much I missed seeing movies in a theater till I actually went. It was a great experience and I think ticket prices are cheaper than ever. I remember paying 16.50 a ticket for a regular showing. I just paid 21 for two tickets. So awesome and it was such a good time! I cant wait for Top Gun!
Great when you walk in, and then of course if your planning on getting anything to snack on pretty quick and easy. We were in theater 14 and the seats are horrible. Very uncomfortable. I feel like this is huge when sitting through a two hour movie. The sound and picture were amazing. We may or may not return. Not because of any other reason then the seats.
It was my first time visiting this theater and I was happy I did. The IMAX 3D movie I saw was great, although the seats were not adjustable, it was still clean entertaining. There’s plenty of restaurants and venues nearby for a good date night experience. I’d recommend getting your tickets in advance online so you can choose your seats before attending.
Big theater, new releases. Purchase tickets and concessions prior to arrival with the AMC app. Tom will only serve you alcohol with valid ID or blood offering. In the basement is an army of goblins that can use their mouth as a projector. This saves AMC 1.2 billion a year. If you ask for an off the menu tour, you can feed them seeds and maybe pet them.
A nice multiplex theater with relatively comfortable seating and lots of different movie options. The parking is nearby and is hit or miss in the Fashion Valley Mall parking structure. I will say the prices are definitely on the higher end with the average ticket price above $15 and the cost for a large popcorn and a drink pretty close to the same.
This is a good movie theater In a great location. They have a good number of screens and stadium seating. The high point for me was the customer service. Everyone we talked to was great! They were friendly fun and warm. I would give this place 5 stars if they had the newer recliner seats. The tickets were also pricey about $30 for the 2 of us.
It's not a luxury theater but the seats are decent. They do have a bar in the lobby; and it's about $8/drink. As theaters go, it was a good night out. My date was happy with the place, too. I'd prefer the Lot, Cinépolis, or another luxury theater simply because of the seats; however I have no complaints. The staff was friendly, too!
Fashion Valley is such a nice mall, it's such a disappointment that this AMC location is so dingy. The facility is so old and outdated it always makes me turn to Mission Valley or La Jolla that have better features like IMAX, Dolby Theaters, and recliners. I've even heard of people saying rats crawling around the screen before.
The movie theater is fine and the girl taking tickets was friendly and helpful, but I think this might be the last time I go to a movie theater. Every time I’ve gone lately I have to ask them to turn down the volume- especially for the previews, which is getting really annoying. If I do come back, I’ll have to bring ear plugs!
Good overall but STOP PLAYING EXTRA ADS BEFORE THE MOVIE STARTS. We're already paying $20/ticket, buying over-priced popcorn and watching movie previews we've already seen at home. You don't need to force Nicole Kidman down our throats to convince us to come to your theater. It's no wonder at-home streaming is winning.
The theater was empty but for one other person. The seats were new and easy to find with the reserved seating feature. It was a little weird to have someone else select my soda and determine how much ice I wanted, but he was open to pouring out some of the ice so that we would get more liquid in the cup.
Went here to watch Oppenheimer, no one works in the ticket boxes apparently which is fine. seats are very small, if you’re 225+ it’s gonna be a tight squeeze, but they’re comfortable nonetheless. A/C was good to get away from the heat. Overall not a bad experience but wouldn’t go there again for a movie.
I enjoy this theater quite a bit. Staff are always very nice and they might have the best restrooms in the entire mall. My only issue is that the seats here are kinda small and also weirdly angled upright? You don't really get to lean back at all in them. Also no Dolby which is a shame. Otherwise great.
One of my all time favorite theaters. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and the place is always clean. And if you do like to drink they have a bar you can grab your mix drinks at!! In addition, its in a mall!! While your waiting for your start time, keep your ticket and check the shops out!
It was warm. I expected cool air-conditioning. But it wasn't cool enough. It was ok. But I really was looking forward to very cool air. It was hot outside. The concession stand was too expensive. But everything is. Haven't been to the theater in decades. Saw Sound Of Freedom. Excellent movie.
I am a A list member and went to see Titanic yesterday, I used my rewards points to get large popcorn (salt caramel) I sat down and ate 3 they were old and dry no idea how long they had been sitting there I brought the entire bucket back at the end but no one was working there anymore…
Decent little AMC theater. Similar amenities as any chain theater for the most part, specifically the AMC-specific items like the bar (alcohol for adults) and snack bar fare. I've had better customer service at this location in the past (took off a star for recent visit).
The price of the movie was pretty high and also the food and they made us sit wherever space was left because people pre-picked their seats I guess. So we had a sit-in like the third row which looks like really close to humongous screen. But the movie was awesome.
First, Aquaman was outstanding!!!! Second the staff was friendly as well as surprisingly clean in appearance an habits. The snacks were reasonably priced as well as delicious. Had a wonderful time from beginning to end. Could not of possibly had a better time.
AMC never disappoints. Today was $6 Stubs member day and I also got a free large popcorn and free large drink because of my birthday. I have been loving the assigned seats. It makes things so easy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was great.
The men's restroom upstairs was out of order but besides that, great movie theater and the seats were very comfy. I recommend the pretzel bites as they were very good and on top of that, they have soda stream which is always a plus in my book.
AMC is an over priced brand. Prices continue to rise without any additional benefits. Tuesday savings day has gone from $6 to $9.19 within 6 wks. It's cheaper to join a streaming service & buy a bigger TV than to take family to AMC theaters.
The staff are friendly but they've got some major overhaul to do when it comes to how they run the cleaning routine. I watch a ton of movies and every time I've been here the floors were always gross and sticky (even on a slow weekday), the
I had purchased two tickets online on the AMC website ahead of time for a movie here with my partner, upon arriving at our seating we found someone occupying one of our seats with their date. Apparently the theater had sold a seat twice,
Good chain theater. Park in the back of the mall, in the B lot, and walk across the bridge to the theater. First movie is just $6.99 and you can choose your own seat, which is nice. There are newer, leather-like seats in the theater than
Got to enjoy some fun time with my mom. The theater was upstairs, that kinda tricked me a little bit so, you gotta watch out for that but overall we had a great time. We were there on a Monday and the tickets were very very inexpensive.
Love this theater. It's always so clean and the popcorn tast great Everytime . So far only one time in 2 years had the icee machine been broken. They did run out of Reece's for a time which was unpleasant lol. Love the crew here too
Great movie theater. Convenient the screens are not as big as the mission valley but it is still very nice and clean. I will say I like the chairs here better than mission valley they're all leather they have a newer feel to them
This theater is always clean, and the food is fresh. You are able to get your food in a timely manner, ensuring that you make it to your seat on time for your movie. I also love that you can select your seats ahead of time.
I'm realizing that you can hear eeeeeeverything from eeeeeeeveryone. It's like, I can hear the person three rows up chewing, loud. Really nice amenities but small rooms with an echo. Dear anyone reading. I. Can. Hear. You.
It's clean and I like the location. I'm a bit spoiled as a Stubs member coming from Tempe, AZ. I missed the reclining chairs. It is great to pick your own seat, though, and again, it was clean, even in the bathrooms.
Really trippy how HUGE this place is! The Lower Theaters are TWO ESCALATOR RIDES down. It's MASSIVE! Everything is GREAT, but the BEST FEATURE is their tendency to show INDEPENDENT MOVIES, LOWER BUDGET GEMS !
Place is pretty old, the airflow was very stuffy. Also the crowd is very noisy, there was at least 2 kids that had to get taken out of the theater. Paid way too much to miss a lot of the dialog of the movie.
Theater isn't bad. A lot of screens and great concessions are available. A cocktail/beer concession stand is also available for adults. The seats are ok, but do not have any lounge features or foot rests.
Wow, this theater is stuck in the 90’s. From the moment you walk in, it looks old, dated and stinks. The carpet is nasty. We had some time to kill, so we figured we’d watch a movie, even though the
I gave this establishment a five star review because they truly deserve that rating. I had a fantastic experience on my only two visits, thus far, and the staff exhibited amazing customer service.
Nice theaters for viewing a movie. The popcorn and drinks are expensive and the popcorn wasn't very good. Not sure what they do but it was alot of cornpits and just wasn't as good as other places.
Awesome staff, cool theater layout and design. Benches down stairs would be handy. Lil bummed that the AC seemed kinda weak in the full theater for the privately sponsored showing of Guardians 3.
Wouldn't come back. The screen is small. Seats aren't comfortable. Salted caramel popcorn is too sweet. Kids running around and making noise in the theater. Only good thing is there's a full bar
Kicked out for “being loud” was quiet during the movie and was not given a refund. While 2 other customers got refunds. In total $120 wasted because of poor management and poor employees.
I have definitely been spoiled by theaters in other states with their huge screens, roomy recliners, and a warm atmosphere. This was a decent theater, but opposite of those things..
The lines were long, there wasn't much assistance, they didn't offer the club card, the two story aspect is very inconvenient but my kids liked the movie which is all that matters.
The movie theater's are outdated, especially the lower level. I haven't been there in some time but if anyone has, please let me know if the lower level has been remodeled.
Very comfortable seating. ADA accessable. Special seating area for ada and guest. Plenty of free parking. Very close to parking lot. Paid $5 per person for a 4:30 showing.
It was really good quality just the hardest part was waiting for our hot snacks to be ready. It is a tad tricky trying to find the theater from the trolley station …
Dirty and uncomfortable seats. The seats are like airplane seats, you can't even move your arms to eat your popcorn. Spend a little more and go to a nicer movie theatre.
First time coming here and I had a great experience. The cinema is not crowded and the guy checking the ticket was very cool and helpful. I am definitely coming back.
10 out of 10 stars! Love this place! The online ordering is a god send! Makes life 100 times easier. And the staff... Wish I knew her name was SUPER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Worst movie theater I’ve been to. Our room smelled bad, seats were extremely uncomfortable for the price. Go somewhere else if you want a comfortable experience.
Theater was not cleaned between showtimes and sat in BBQ sauce. The staff seemed that they could care less about it. This place has not been kept up well sadly.
Saw guardians 3, the theater was clean and easy to access with plenty of bathrooms, but they didn’t turn the ac on at all. Very hot and humid during the movie.
Restrooms were clean, really nice theater, maybe a bit pricey, $18 each pretty much, but a good experience for a great movie (Guardians of the Galaxg vol. 3
Seats are uncomfortable and dont recline. Unfortunately in this day and age movie theaters have to be comfortable or we will just stay at home lol …
Drink some food are a little expensive as you're going to find out any movie theater. Overall though the actual viewing experience was quite nice.
Great movie experience. Theaters were clean and provided a classic theater feel. Concessions were a tad overpriced but staff were very friendly.
One of the Managers Austin helped me to my seat because i am disabled. Then Brandon helped us out of the theatres. A freat help both of them.
I watched 2 movies today. I love it, the chair is comfortable, clean and the staff is kind. I liked it very much . Thank You. …
I'm glad to see they finally listened to my recommendations. They got booze now!! Now I can get Crunk and watch Marvel movies!!!
This theater needs a HUGE remodel and air freshener! Theater was still trashed with popcorn horrible & screen very small! …
Had an enjoyable time at the movies. Linrd were a little long at the concession stand but that is to be expected on a holiday.
Theater 15 is worn out. The seats old, dirty and narrow. No bigger than a rear of the plane economy airline seat. Maybe worse.
Worst movie theater. Hot and muggy no AC Sweating thru out the movie, screen had a weird spot on it that was really annoying
Love this movie theater now that they got the new comfortable seats . there perfect to watch a movie on the big screen
The screens were a little small compared to other theaters I've been to but still a great experience all around …
It was a nice theater visit for an older school type theater. It was nice to see a bar in the lobby though. …
Great place to watch a movie. Good service and very clean facility. Go there all the time. Awesome popcorn.
Really nice clean theater went to see Barbie loved it. Virtually no one in there was a great.
Nice theater, very friendly staff. Clean bathrooms and clean theater we were in.
The prices for snacks were hecka high but overall, it was an amazing experience.
Out of date movie theater located in a nice, outdoor shopping mall.
This theater is amazing and love theater 4 for the movie the shift.
Good experience overall, but it can improve to become better.
They offer open captioning movies for the Deaf Community!!!
A good place and good movies the seats are good
Very quiet in the theater today. Nice place.
Very nice theater had a great time …
