4 stars I've gone here countless times over the past 20 years (or more) and my memory of it is a 5 star rating. The staff seemed like zombies. Completely aloof and mechanical. They felt hollow and empty. Like why not just automate the experience with an AI robot... The seat I was in made me itchy. I didn't quite catch scabies (at least I hope I didn't) but something was definitely crawling on my legs and made me itchy all over (& maybe a little bit paranoid because of it) for most of the 2 & 1/2 hour movie. Yuck. I'll still go here, I'm just gonna use a flash light to check the aside and seat, spray the seat down with something and wipe the arm rest, but also I'm never wearing shorts to this theater again. The good points are that even though it was a Friday night, the theater I was in for the 9pm showing was not crowded. Far from it. Okay we were the only 2 in there. The price point is cheaper than other silver screen modern theaters and the budget friendly price point is the biggest factor in why I choose to go here.

Burnt cookies, 20 min wait for my food order. Then left my cookies in the warmer oven till burnt apparently. Then sneaky as he could, the guy double bagged them and wrapped it up tight trying to make sure I didn’t notice till I was in the dark theatre. See pictures, come on guys, no! Said they “couldn’t make anything with meat” and “no sandwiches” with no explanation. Said, “they got a call”. I think they just didn’t feel like doing food prep l, not sure, sounded like a weird/made up excuse an immature kid would make Overall this was A horrible experience. Never coming to this theater again! I would sum up my experience with the following statement. At this point, I would go so far as to both participate in and further, advocate for, the participation therein, of a general campaign of breaking wind in, on and in the general direction of this establishment. #IfartInYourGeneralDirectionChallenge

Used to be my theater of choice as a kid and the prices/cinematic experience are exactly the same which would be good, but it's not covid-safe like other cinemas operating at this time. They don't block off every other row like you'd expect in a tight proximity theater like this. An obnoxious family decided to pick seats directly behind me and make noise/kick my seat all movie long, even though the seats weren't more than 15% filled. Surfaces didnt seem clean, it was musty and felt dirty like it hadn't been sterilized in many showings. To top things off, this movie was my only recent exposure to the public and I tested positive for covid today, and the only saving grace is that none of my family whom I was with for the holidays has shown any symptoms yet. I guess the joke is on me for saving $10 on a ticket just to get a poor experience and covid.

This neighborhood gem not only screens the blockbusters but independent films as well. Almost every week I can find a good independent film that I want to see! The movie prices are dirt cheap and definitely appreciated given the experience of movie-going. I have always found the staff to be helpful and the popcorn is on point. Easy parking and good location. I believe they serve alcohol as well, and I found the theaters themselves to be fairly comfy, and well-kept. The staff are masked and I felt safe given all of their cleaning procedures etc. I even talked to the manager about renting out one of the theaters, and he walked me through the procedure. Folks of all ages enjoy this place, go check it out! Great affordable date option, with neighboring restaurants and a plaza with a fountain.

This is our favorite place to go to the movies! Not only are the tickets $8.50, the cheapest price around, they also offer a matinee price for early showings, and offer $1 tickets during the summer for a selection of kids movies. The theaters are nice and comfy and what I consider good quality compared to other theaters. They have a normal amount of showtimes for you to choose from and a variety of food and snacks to order. If movie theater food isn't your forte they've been known to allow outside food into the theater. Which is awesome because there is a coldstone and Starbucks right next to the theater. I have yet to be disappointed by this theater and since it's $4 cheaper per ticket compared to Edwards, this is our go to spot!

  • Paul Gmail

BEST in San Diego! @ $8.50 a ticket there really is no competition. Offering everything any other movie theater has at a reasonable price. Endless jumbo popcorn bucket for $6! Normally, I pass on the other items at theater concessions; due to being way overpriced. Not here, tried the Lava Cake w/ice cream and was blown away. Tasted better than the slice of cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory the other night. My new spot, I'm actually a little embarrassed it's taken so long for me to realize how bad other theaters (AMC,...) are taking advantage of their customers. Thanks Reading Cinemas, will be talking about this experience for awhile!

The theater was clean and the staff was cheery and helpful. The prices are good too, cheaper than what I've been paying closer to home. It was also uncrowded which we appreciated. The theater is stadium style with regular seats. I hadn't sat in a regular seat for several years and it was a little jarring. My kids enjoyed it, they acted as if it was a novelty, which was funny to watch. Sort of like when kids see hand-cranked car windows for the first time. I found the seats to be pretty uncomfortable, but maybe that's just me. I did appreciate that I could select my seat. Overall pretty solid theater.

I watched "The Farewell" in Screen 11. The movie was great but let's talk about the place. I'm not sure if you have to sit at your designated seats actually because people were just sitting anywhere (not sure about this part). Well the screen was kinda small actually and the seats cushion were quite comfy however it doesn't even pivot back (not recliner seats), they were pretty much straight so not very comfortable overall. The best thing about them was an extremely comfortable headrest which I have not experienced before in TX or AZ. Have fun!

Good experience. Breakfast items should be available especially on a weekend after advertised and it says breakfast all day. They did not have any last Saturday morning when we went. Also yesterday ticket kiosk not working and they only had 1 person working ticket counter and concessions, that was around 1:00pm would be nice if they had more staffing in both areas. Otherwise movie theater is good and gives you a hometown feel as it does not look like any renovations have been done which gives it the uniqueness of this theaters design and feel.

  • Gregory Smith

Time and Time again I return to this movie theater, one because it's inexpensive (generally $8.50), and two because there aren't very many rules on food and beverages being brought inside. Those two combinations make this theater more superior to others. One thing to mention is that most of the seats are comfortable, but old fashioned, and can be annoying; generally a more expensive theater would be more suitable for a movie date or whatnot, depending on your spouse's tastes. Otherwise a well established and dependable experience.

  • Amber Osbourne

Love this place! Everyone is super friendly. Tickets are very cheap ($8.50 at this time), they accept Movie Pass, clean bathrooms, you can bring in your own food but they also have $6 unlimited popcorn as well as a decent food menu. I believe they have wine and beer too. There are several restaurants around if you’re looking for dinner and a movie. Theaters are clean and well maintained. No rewards system but the low prices make up for that. All in all, we’re very happy with this theater and come several times a month.

  • Free Jazz Enthusiast

I never want them to remodel this place. It's like the 80s/90s just decided to die here. The inside has that neon lighting and jazzy carpet design. It's a movie, you aren't going to a ball. It's cheap entertainment as it should be. Slap some shoes on, go on a weekend morning, pay 8 bucks for a matinee ticket. A big thing I love about this theater too, is that pretty much every weird, limited release has been here. Every anime movie, several documentaries I wanted to see, you name it. You can't beat it for the price.

  • Cheryl Ravitch

I'm very upset how cold it was in theatre 9. I left one hour after the movie started. Others started to leave also. I couldn't handle it anymore and told customer service. She said she would change the thermostat and wouldn't give me a free ticket or refund to see "a simple favor" I was dying to see for a long time. So mad. I don't like their closed captioned machines either. They don't stay in the cup holder and had to read captioning sideways. I had it and left. I'm very mad at this place. Never going back again.

  • Josh B.

I've gone to this theatre many times. It's always been a great experience. Don't get me wrong, I'm never happy about paying those prices for popcorn, but all movie theatres are that way. I love the 40 Foot Film series. I can't believe it's $5 to see a classic like Tootsie or To Kill a Mockingbird on the big screen. The employees are always nice and friendly, and the whole thing is run like a well-oiled machine. Nothing like eating at one of the food places right there in the mall, and walking over for a movie.

  • Warattaya Vaughn

Large popcorn and drink is $14 . Ticket plus tax is $10. Great price any day and night. Condiments area was uncleaned and not organized. They should have cleaned that area often. The concession are is clean. Restroom is clean. The seats are ok and you can pick your own seat. They serve alcohol at this theatre and have kids popcorn combo for $6. Parking is a little hard to find if you decided to be here on Friday or Saturday night. Overall this is a really good place for family movie night.

  • Jesus Chavez

If you want to watch new films at very cheap pricing this place is great. They have cheaper rates in the morning, show new releases in standard and 3D (including some anime films if you're into that), and a concession stand that's a bit steep but at the same rates or cheaper than AMC or Regal. I'm not sure if the screen quality is worse than other theaters but it does the job, especially if you don't want to spend that much on a film. Well worth checking out if you' re in the area.

  • Larry E

Honestly, you can't beat the price of $8.50. A wide assortment of food options, though at movie theater prices, is also available. However, this is an old theater with old timey seats, small screens, and a very inadequate sound system for today's movies. I recently saw Top Gun, which is a movie that relies on sound to tell its story, and the sound was just so underwhelming. Anyway, most movies won't rely on sound as much as Top Gun, so for most movies, this theater will be fine.

  • Bob Van Belle

This theater is old and run-down compared to the newer, spendier places. The seats are pretty uncomfortable and in dire needs of an upgrade. I live in Bay Ho so this is my neighborhood theater -- it's less than a mile from my house -- but I would gladly pay a few extra bucks for upholstered seats and better sound. As it is, unless I'm just looking to catch a movie on a last-minute impulse, I'll go to a theater with state-of-the-art sound and full-reclining reclining seats.

  • Cecily Blayre

Great movie theater, amazing $8.50 tix price & very tempting movie treats! I haven't been to a movie theater in about 4 years (bad boys 3?!?). I knew this theater was well maintained and appreciated by the locals, but I had no idea you could choose your own seats!! Next time I am splurging on a large icee ( tropical summer flavors!!) ~or~ oreo sundae (no cookies or ice cream tonight). Cannot wait to come back in July to see Brad Pitt, hippie John Wick in Bullet Train....

  • Gina Freitas

This is my favorite place to go to the movies. It's near my house and it's never crowded. The theatre is well-maintained and the size of the theatre is decent with plenty of seats. The cost of a ticket is average and they have discounts for children and seniors. The popcorn (plain) is really good and big enough to share. Afterward, there's a fantastic food court with great eateries that we always stop after the movies to get a bite to eat and the prices are reasonable.

  • Popeye the Grump

It's been a long time since I thought there was an interesting film in theaters. Came to this theater mainly for the nostalgia of when I was growing up but Anyways, saw once upon a time in Hollywood and Overall I had a good time though the picture itself definitely had it's flaws especially with certain characters and portrayals but whatever, it was funny and is only a movie. On an unrelated side note, I do wish there were theaters in San Diego where you could smoke

  • GENO'S CATERING

UPDATE! Last post was approx 8 months ago - this place is nice! Close to home without the fuss - they make fresh popcorn when asked (taste so much better when fresh) get there before noon it’s $7.00! Friendly staff and they employ physically challenged souls. Check it out nice place and local! Support locals! I get away once a week to watch a movie and this is a quaint nice relaxed place. Never crowded and the popcorn is good. $8.50 all the time that's cool!

  • Anna R Ryan

Love this theater because it's like watching it at home there's no one hardly ever here when I go and it's peaceful and the concession stand now that they've remodeled it is beautiful with all kinds of food. I don't eat any of it but for those that do lots of yummy choices. The seats do not fold back and that is the only drawback. They need to be recovered they're very old and many are not very comfortable but for under eight bucks it's a go to.

  • Forrest Smith

This theater is priced right for the area and venue provided. I just couldn’t quite bring myself to give it 5 stars. Maybe it was a bad night for cleanliness but I was a bit disappointed in that department. The lines were quick though and was otherwise pleased with the service and movie experience. Sound was pretty good, although a little dated, again was in line with expectations. I will be back and will update if cleanliness is improved.

  • Eric Perkins

Really glad we have a great chain like reading locally instead of being forced to go to AMC. Reading has the nicest theaters in the area, they all accept Moviepass happily and have really great concessions. It feels good to support the smaller chains, especially ones doing all the right things. So for $10 a month with moviepass and reading we get to go all the time and use our money to buy more food and not worry a night out will be $80.

  • Kenneth Dickson

Cheap tickets all day long compared to bigger theater chains. Showings of niche movies like indie and anime. Legitimate seating area inside the theatre to wait for movies. Food is pricey but still better in quality than AMC, popcorn however is a hit or miss. However the building looks old, seats are in the theatre are modern for the late nineties and the carpet is always dirty. It's a no frills theatre with a strong focus on the basics.

  • Blue Penguin

If you just want to see a movie with a big screen, then the theater would work for you. However, if you want a comfortable and clean environment to enjoy the movie, maybe you need to think about it twice. The smell in the theater is unpleasant, and it feels like the air conditioning isn’t working properly. When I walked in and sat down, I couldn’t help but think that maybe it’s worth paying a bit more for a better theater next time

  • Kevin Casillo

I visit this Theater at least 3 times per month. The latest movies are always playing and all employees I meet here are friendly and professional. Ample parking spaces, easy in and out and price of tickets are the best I have found. Seats are comfortable unfortunately like all Theaters HIGH snack prices are the norm. I skip the soda and junk food and go for medium popcorn. That's basically all it takes. Go and enjoy the movies!

  • E. C.

Secret of San Diego. You can get in on the first day of just about any movie. We were easily able to get seats for the Last Jedi. Yeah it's not as glamorous as Edward's or some of the others, but the prices are a little lessand there's always seats. Oh, and you get free popcorn refills. 4 stars only because some of the newer theaters are just a little better experience. But this place is our 'go to' theater in town.

  • Antriksh Yadav

The theater is small, a bit unkempt and old-looking, not in a bad way. Although it was very tiny and cheap-looking, the ticket was super-cheap. I watched Skyfall for about $6 (morning show). The seating was relatively comfortable and the popcorn was great (especially with extra free salt). Picture quality was not bad at all and the sound level was just right. I will definitely come here again because of the price!

  • Ronald Cozad

This is an aging facility in a neighborhood that needs, in general, a major refresh. There’s nothing luxurious about these theaters. They look like they are exactly as they were in 1980. The seats were comfortable, but the drink holders in the armrest were strange, and did not fit with a canned beverage I bought at the snack bar. Having said that, the workers at the theater were very pleasant and accommodating.

  • Brandon Seth

Fun little theatre... hardly anyone is there for the first couple hours. It's so nice they are available after covid because they were closing down. So we went early. There were a toal of 3 people in Super Mario brothers. It was clean and everyone was polite.. I had expired complimentary tickets from Covid which they accepted gracefully. This was our first time in a theatre in 4 years. Thanks Reading!!

  • Miss Shannon in school gardens

It's our local theater so we love it for that fact. Prices are great, sound system is excellent, picking your seats ahead of time is a fantastic feature too. We always bring some sort of cushion to sit on since the seats aren't super comfortable, but it makes our experience that much better. We see a movie at least once a month here, and we will continue to do so since prices can't be beat

  • T JO

Reading is a friendly cinema and reasonably priced. The theaters have good sound. The restrooms are clean. The theaters aren't the most up to date with the neat reclining seats that some have. The concession have a decent menu and they have a bar for adult drinks if you are into that. We like to go to the showings that start before noon. They are a real bargain. Nice neighborhood Cinema!

  • Elle_from_ca Wa-li

Cheaper tickets than other theaters ($8 and some change no matter the time or ticket) . Stadium seating. Fully stocked snack bar. Coke products sold, which are self-serve from 3 of those giant coke mixing machines (not sure what else to call them). They also serve alcohol at the snack bar. Clean theater and bathrooms. Staff is friendly enough. There is a help desk inside, on the left.

  • Jimmy Lewis

Love this theater. $8.50 ticket price for all movies all the time cannot be beat. Great selection of beers and food. If you don't want to buy food at the theater there are plenty of places in the shopping center to choose from. Staff don't mind if you bring outside in for your movie. Staff have been awesome everytime I have been for a movie. They also have kids movies for $1.

  • Karla Goodman

I went to this theater for the first time around 4:30 pm on a Wednesday. It was empty of course, so that was nice. The people at the front were very friendly. You get to choose your seating while you purchase your tickets. They offer adult beverages at the counter along with other great food choices. The seats were comfortable and the establishment was pretty clean.

  • Edward Reyes

Many good places to eat and the movie theater is one of my favorites. The only thing I would tell you is that you don't go see a late movie. My car got broken into while watching a movie. The broke in to steal the change in the cup holder. Called PD and they said it happens a lot in that area. So be careful and go only during sunlight hours. Bring robbed sucks

  • Emily Bentley

On the Reading Cinemas website, it said that masks are required for all guests outside of auditoriums, but at the door a sign said that vaccinated guests were permitted to be maskless. I wish their online info was kept up to date. The online info also recommends buying tickets online to reduce in-person interactions, but there is a 20% surcharge for doing so.

  • Douglas Le Grand

The theater used to be called the Clairemont Square, now 99cents store. This theater is 100 times better, 14 theaters instead of 1, then two, surround sound, small cozy seating with lift up arm rest, popcorn by the bucket for $6 unlimited. Now they serve wine, beer, crusted chicken, desserts etc. Too Much. All the latest movies for only $8.50, can't be beat.

  • Nicole Larson

I believe this theatre must have been recently upgraded. The seats and facilities are more comfortable than I recall and the popcorn fresh and delicious. Staff are friendly and efficient, selling both tickets and concessions quickly. I definitely recommend this theatre. And there are nearby restaurants ideal for a quick meal before or after the screening.

  • Luis Guerra

Great theater in a rather good location. Plenty of nearby restaurants, department stores, and the like. Plentiful parking, good selection of movies with both blockbusters and the occasional indie films that you don't see at your usual AMC's. Helpful staff, with good prices in alcohol and other beverages. This is my go-to theater for non IMAX films.

  • Jerome Cooper

This movie theater is great! I have been here twice during the week and my tickets were only $8. They allow you to choose your own seat, and the seats are comfortable. You can purchase wine and beer before the screening. There are also a few food venues nearby if you want to eat before or after the show with outdoor seating in the plaza square.

  • Kris

This is my my favorite theater in the area. Good screen sizes and audio. Very competitive ticket prices and recently they began serving beer. Every time I had face to face interactions/questions they were very friendly. One of the managers, Dorothy, was particularly helpful and went above and beyond in reserving me a poster I really wanted.

  • Tu Lam

One thing I like about San Diego is they're really into giving student discounts with ID. My this is one of those places that gives a discount. Weekends this place is crazy busy but not too bad during the week nights. We've watched movies here several times. They have smaller screens here. On slower nights the box office is inside.

  • John Harman

It isn't one of the cushy new ones, so if you're looking for a recliner skip it, but I really like this place. It had been nicely maintained and kept up but has a small town theater feel to it. The movies aren't blaring loud like many new theaters so that's nice too. Hope thus place keeps doing what they're doing, we'll be back!

  • Nate Shelby

Favorite local neighborhood theater. Not the best in San Diego, but holding up fairly well. Have had nothing but positive experiences with the employees. Food and beverage is hit and miss. Stick with the popcorn and you'll be fine. Best thing about the place is the prices. You can catch shows before noon for $6. Not too shabby!

  • S R

I love this theatre! The staff is friendly, the place is always clean, and in the past year or so they have done major upgrades. You can get great beers, pizza, and decent hot dogs. They also allow you to bring in your own food and drinks. Not to mention, if you go to an early morning movie it's only $7 a person no matter age.

  • Kiana _love

It's an amazing place. The employees are really friendly and always laughing and cheerful. They also do a good job in keeping the place clean, they are always open and willing to stop what they are doing to help you. And the tickets are CHEAP!!! I highly recommend going there and watching a movie, and eating, foods good too

  • Alastair Mayo

Went to see Jurassic World. After buying food and drink and finding the theater, I learned they decided to show it in a theater where the AC was out, middle of July in San Diego. Ticket prices were decent and a basic large popcorn/soda wasn't too extortionate compared to many places. I'll give them another chance later.

  • Sarah

Good wheelchair access. Wheelchair parking near entrance. Friendly staff. Clean area. Good food. Fun times at the movie. Very popular place. My friend likes the beer choices (I don't drink beer so have no opinion on that part.) Easy access. In Town Square mall so had several choices to shop before the movie too.

  • Noah Kodur

This place is not usually very busy. All showings are $8.50 which isn't a bad deal. Their food prices aren't completely outrageous but also not cheap. The only time this place is busy is when a big movie premieres like Star Wars or Avengers. You can also select your seat in advance when you buy your ticket

  • Max Sanchez

The movie theater has affordable ticket prices and very good craft beer available. This cinema was the only place that was still showing Sorry to bother you. The sound and screen were adequate, although I’d like to dock a star for the dirty seats. I would definitely come back though if I was in the area.

  • jennifer anne

Nice stadium seating and great prices. The staff is also very nice. My one complaint is that nearly every time we've been here, there is an issue with the air conditioning not working. During cool months it's not a big deal, but the theaters are sweltering during the summer when the air is off..

  • Carson Tyler

While having great prices, this just can't keep up with bigger theaters. The seats are uncomfortable and the leg room is atrocious. The screen isn't as big as other theaters. I was impressed with the sound quality, but that was about it. I don't think I'll ever return to a Reading theater.

  • Lisa

I’ve been twice in a month (March-2023) Both times the theater has been clean, not crowded, kinda quiet, fresh affordable snacks, and safe. Both times we visited it was afternoon but the price is right and Tuesday is half price. It’s worth going the extra mike or two to clairmont drive .

  • Joy V

Cheaper than most theaters but really gross and dirty. No toilet paper in half the bathrooms and popcorn absolutely everywhere on the floor even though there were like five employees doing nothing at concessions. Uncomfortable seats, not great theater screen or sound. Go somewhere else.

  • Tiffany Stevens

This place is great for inexpensive movie night. They have good concession stand choices and have a great movie selection as well. They have good deals on the combos and offer beer. Seats are pretty comfortable and the arm rests move up. The people who work there are super friendly.

  • Robin Romero

The movie prices here are great and I had a great time with friends watching watching a movie here. My only recommendation is many of the seats have lost there cushion due to heavy use. Would be great if they could redo the cushions on any seats that don't feel right anymore.

  • William Andrakowicz

Not known for being the most lavish theater in San Diego, but it is always clean and affordable with all movies cost $8.50. Sundays they run family specials at their snack bar, which are always great. It has made going to the movies fun again, without costing you $100 to it.

  • Steven Kruckenberg

Some of the cheapest tickets in town. Never overly crowded in the theater on Friday and Saturday nights. You do get what you pay for however, no special amenities. Parking can be very difficult in a shopping center like this due to all the other stores and food locations

  • Ki H

This place is always clean. They do Have devices if you or a loved one is hard of hearing or visually impaired. They do not offer senior discount, or Military discount because their starting price for their tickets are $8.50 per person, compared to AMC which is $15.50

  • tyson porlas

Great neighborhood movie theater with the best prices in town for any movie any time. They do get you on food and drink items but what movie theater doesn't charge an arm and a leg for popcorn? They serve booze and offer an upgraded menu with burgers and sandwiches.

  • Sandra Phillips

Clairemont Theatre is the best. Love the stadium seats, friendly staff, and cheaper prices, plus they always have the current movies. I have been going to this theatre since I was a kid. It 's been through a couple of renovations and it just keeps getting better.

  • Anthony Greco

Reading Cinemas have the competition in tears! Why? Simple single pricing, all movies, all ages is $8.50. They only run new releases. Plus, you can get the usual standard fare from the snack bar, but also gourmet sandwiches. There are adult beverages for sale.

  • marcial diaz

ONLY THE PRICE IS GOOD,BUT THE THEATRE IS LIKE,GARBAGE BAG,TOO MUCH DRUNKS PEOPLE,THE BATHROOM IS DIRTY,THE POPCORN IS REALLY OLD, AND THE THEATRE CREW DONT SEE HAPPY W/THIS JOB,THE CREW DONT HAVE CONTROL W/THE DRUNK PEOPLE I DONT BACK THIS THEATRE AGAIN…..

  • Edward Morfeld

Other than the south bay drive in the cheapest theater I know of in San Diego, and theres nothing wrong with it, just an ordinary movie theater with cheaper than average prices and even cheaper than that on their half price night (I think it's Tuesday)

  • Tracy Rothwell

I don't know if it was the weather, but the theater was dead last night. Actually the past few times we've gone it's been super quiet. Seemed like there was more employees than movie goers. I hope more people will go so we don't lose our local theater.

  • Nathan Wilder

Surprisingly great theater, good prices. Reserved seating using regular seats, but the stadium seating is perfect for short people like me, impossible for your view to get blocked! Drink refills accessible to customers, a smart new trend in theaters.

  • Suz She

Reading has up ended the movie/retail experience. Prices are now less(!) for movie and the food while giving better than previous quality. Certainly a place for the family to see movies together and come back! Customers are the bottom line?!? Wow.

  • Carlos Martinez

Great place to watch a flick. Especially on the family pack Sundays. You get a big popcorn bucket and soda for 10 bucks!!! And FYI the tickets are always cheaper than other places. Cheapest place in SD I found that gives you a movie experience.

  • Brian Hayes

We saw the movie, "Three thousand years is longing." 1 star. Hard to follow, too much nonsense. Switching scenes, bizarra imagery, especially at the beginning. " What's happening?" What's the point/ plot? I was looking forward to it being over!

  • J H

They have the best options for food and drink. I had my Sundaes in glass cup!!! And it was delicious. The location is a excellent with so many places to dine and is kids friendly. The cleanliness could improve! Otherwise I would give 5 stars

  • Nguyet Nguyen

Nice theater with plenty of parking! Ticket prices are cheaper than most other theaters. The food was reasonably priced and seating was nice. Video and audio quality was like any other place. Matinee shows are available at reduced prices.

  • Sherry Balow

Very nice theater. So surprised to see it so empty! This is in the area I grew up in, 1950's-1960's, and what we wouldn't have given to have this beautiful theater!! Oscars and Whitneys is what I remember but now the square is HUGE!

  • Patsy Gredvig

You can pick your own seats. The seats are comfortable. Would have given them a five but they don't have a drink holder that holds their own cup of water. The popcorn and drink combo is pretty pricey as is the popcorn by itself.

  • Martie Lauer

I finally got to go to the movies! It's been a year and a month since I've been to the theater. This is my neighborhood theater and I love it. It's not plush, but they do have drinks if you like that. Chicago 7 the Trial. See it

Nice-sized theater. Really good sound with a good sized screen. Food not overly expensive. A wet bar, who knew? Friendly employees when they're paying attention. Able to reserve and pick your seats in advance, very nice.

Although they do serve hot foods like sandwiches, their menu isn't that big compared to Angelika theater. They should add more sandwiches to the menu besides bacon-grilled cheese, turkey sandwich, pizza, and hot dogs.

  • GUYLANDE JEUDY

It is really inexpensive compare to the other movie theaters. But the rooms are pretty dirty because they don't clean up after each movie. There were still cups and unfinished popcorn from the previous customers.

My new favorite movie theatre in San Diego (RIP Arclight). Cheap prices ($8.50 all day), true black box theatres, screens correctly matted to fit aspect ratio, clean seats, endlesa popcorn - what's not to love?

Super warm inside. Probably the warmest theater I've been in. The stadium seating was nice though. Dont have to worry about seeing over the person in front of you. Wish the seats were more comfortable though

Screens are wide 16:9 ratio and size per room was a bit small. They do carry student and senior discounts which helps those who are limited on their budget. Staff is great and the food selections are typical

It’s a small cinema, staff are always attentive and friendly the place and is close to a lot of restaurants to eat and and places to shop and groceries. It is conveniently located to public transportation.

Kind of a throwback to the old small town theaters where you could take your kids to a movie, get drinks and popcorn without breaking the bank. Current movies, multiple screen times and comfortable seats.

I'm a fan. Cheap movie, cheap popcorn, easy parking, clean and very friendly staff. The chairs don't recline but they're actually quite comfortable, more than the nearby competitor's non-reclining chair.

  • Jared Volavka

It's a nice theater with good pricing and comfortable seating. It's clean, the sound quality is good and the selection of snacks and drinks are very good. Not just the standard popcorn and candy options.

Not a bad neighborhood theater but it could use some love and updates. The employees have always been friendly and nice. This theater has been around a long time and I hope it continues to stick around.

You get to park your own car in an open lot. Free parking. Good selection of movies. Uncomplicated. Any of you can find fault if you like, but I want to keep my neighborhood theater open! Dining nearby.

Seats just ok, not very comfy but not bad either. Poster out front says $8.50 movies, that's a great deal. Have to choose your exact seat.. Usually not a fan of that. Accepts MoviePass so that's cool.

  • Mason Lambert

Recent renovations have made this theater for appealing, and the cost per ticket is a great bonus. Seats aren't quite as good as other theaters, but the sound and image quality beat most I've been to.

Was not enjoyable to watch a movie in a theater with a temperature under 60 degrees. Popcorn was almost cold. Just skip this location and go to La Mesa because they don’t even respond to customers.

One of the old theaters. Seats are pretty old. But the screen and audio quality is good. Also, They don't stop you from bringing your own drink/snacks. What else do you expect from a $8.50 ticket.

  • Kendra M.

Not a bad theater with their cheap prices. Clearly concession is overpriced but that's how they make their money. Only complaint would be that the seating in the theaters are very old and dated.

  • Terrie Martinez

This is probably the most affordable way to see a movie in San diego. They have half off Tuesdays. But it's old, the seats don't recline, and the floors are sticky. So go with that in mind.

  • Yeonsu S.

By far the cheapest movie theater around me. Yeah, it's a bit old, but I get to eat popcorn and see a movie in a theater, so I like it. We've been coming here for the last 5 or so years.

  • A Mac

This theater is really close to my house and they don't mind if you bring outside drinks which was pretty cool theater was pretty clean for the most part will be back

  • Suzanne Courter

It's a good place to see movies. There wasn't a lot of staff working and no one to show our tickets to. Eventually, we found out that you had to go to concessions.

  • Nancy Serrano

Love this theater, when the heat wave started this was a awesome place to spend time and see lots of movies!! Great prices and food and snacks, Love this place :)

  • Craig Monsell

We really like this cinema for its traditional seating, great prices, convenient location, and ample parking. Nearby restaurants make it a great date night.
