I rented a convertible last weekend, although the bad reviews I read made me expecting not too much. But it was awesome! - The car-rental office is directly at the terminal, just 5 min to walk. Signposted well. - After waiting in line for 5 minutes there was no trouble filling out the documents and paying. I made a reservation via the german automobile assiciation ADAC just one day ago - I had to wait for car transfer from another parking lot for 10 min. But that was because it was a convertible. Other cars may be better available. - I got a aslmost brand new (18.000 km), clean car. Nothing to reject. - Returning the car was so short, I could not believe it. I just entered the well-signposted garage, somebody intended me to stop at the end of the line. The employee made a visual check faster than i could unload the trunk. After that there was nothing else to do (maybe I had to sign something, can't remember now). I stuck in traffic and almost missed my flight. You can imagine my relief as the return was so quick and easy! Note: There were other car-rentals who seemed to have the same situation. These were: - National - Dollar - someone I can't remember. Sorry.

Had lousy experience at this location. We reserved an SUV about a week before we arrived, but when we landed in Tampa Bay to pick up the car, we were told that they didn't have the car that we reserved. We called Costco and spoke with a representative and she said that they would hold a Nissan Altima for us, but when we got there with in 1 hour the person in the counter kept telling that the car wasn't available and he said that he could do nothing for us. I had to again call Costco when I was there in Alamo rental place. After calling Costco the Alamo guy said that they would get us a Chevy Malibu. Not sure why he didn't offer that directly to us when we were at the counter. After waiting for 15 to 20 minutes, one other guy called and told us that Nissan was ready and we were good to go. They were also trying to charge the same amount as SUV but luckily we made one more car reservation when we were waiting there and it was 65 $ less than what they were trying to charge us.

Picked up a car at Tampa International. Told to pick one with the trunk open. Nice new Nissan Sentra everything brand new bout 600 miles on it. Left the airport bond for Clearwater the turn signal was out. Didn't realize as my wife was driving. So while in Clearwater call road side assistance. They say "drive it to Enterprise,as they are a sister company and closer then back to Tampa International". Meanwhile, Enterprise is about 35 minutes away in pretty busy traffic WITH NO DIRECTIONAL INDICATOR. I truly think these two international Car Rental Chains should look at the safety issue and the risk they put us at. Glad nothing else came of it and plan to speak with legal representation upon return home. The car was replaced, but at what risk? is the question.

We are not satisfied with Alamo ( Tampa downtown location ). We booked a mini van so that it can seat 7 passengers comfortably but we got a intermediate sized suv.. which is obviously cramping.. and it has some foul smell in the car due to which family got sick, oil change due message keeps coming up which really a safety concern, right side passenger door wouldn't open from inside even if its unlocked.. and staff was not courteous at all and was very rude(agent keeps saying it is not garuntee that we get a car that we booked even though if we have reservation, and keeps asking us to leave his office as if he is owner of all the cars and office) which is very bad on any company. If I had to give negative stars I would definitely give them.

April 27, 2014 Worst experience renting a car waited at the port of Tampa for almost an hour to be picked up after a cruise. The driver did not want to take us to the rental car location because we did not prepay for the car that I rented through Hotwire, I have never prepay for rental car always pay when we pick up the car. Finally arrived at the Alamo location 725 S HARBOUR ISLAND BLVD Tampa, FL 33602, we then proceeded to stand in a line for two hours to rent a car, we reserved a Ford Fusion, we were presented with a Toyota Camry. We were on vacation spent half of our first day renting a car. We will never rent from Alamo. Never again

Very unprofessional and rude employees at this location. Reserved a vehicle online and made sure to be aware of the policies listed on the website for THIS location. Arrived with everything I needed based on what the website and my confirmation email said I needed and they tell me that all of it is wrong.... They were extremely rude and unprofessional. Went down the road and rented with a different company quickly, without hassle, and for less money. The employees at this location really need to familiarize themselvss with company policy.

Rented a car at Tampa airport and also rented a car seat. Only one woman new how to describe how the car seat was to be installed correctly. When she did finally come over she gave me this car seat that I could physically just twist in my hand. After retrieving the 3rd seat from them, I finally had a seat I felt comfortable with putting my son in. I think that all the employees should be up to speed with their car seats, especially, if you are going to offer car seat rental.

I rented a car at the airport, and had a great service from start to finish. I found an online deal on the website, and got a mid-size rental for around $25 a day, which was awesome. The staff were informative, friendly, and even offered coupon books and things to do in the city. When I returned the car, I just drove up, they checked the mileage, and made sure I didnt forget anything in the car. Everyone was great, and I will use this service again.

I came to this place with my brother in law with the hopes that the high reviews would mean great service but unfortunately that wasn't true. Terrible service and dirty location. The bathroom looked like someone urinated on every square inch and I think the employees had my name wrong because they kept calling me "cracker" or something like that, not sure what that means. My BILs daughter said she kept getting odd looks. I won't be coming back

I went to this location after an terrible experience at another rental agency. Kiara at the desk was kind, friendly, and helpful. Even though I made a reservation minutes before, she assured me that a car would be ready for me within the hour (which turned out to be true!) Returning the car to the airport was easy. A guy named Julio checked me in and wished me well on my flight. He was so nice!

I've rented vehicles various times from Alamo and it has always been a great experience for my family and I. No issues, vehicles have always been clean .On one occasion I had a free upgrade due to them not having the vehicle size I had reserved, which was great .I'm very pleased with this car rental company and will continue to do business with them.

They explained payment arrangements one way and resulted in my account being overdrawn. Extended for one day, when the person on the phone told me the total amount, he did not tell me that I had a subtotal which I was told there was a hold on, long story short Alamo took the money and resulted in am overdrawn account with many fees!!!!!

Rudest shuttle driver I've ever encountered anywhere. Snarky rental clerks. Vehicle we rented rattled, and whistled, and reset everything every time we stopped and turned it off. So we had to fix mirrors and seats and steering and every other setting every single time. Very frustrating. Never again with Alamo.

Worse company ever We made reservations which were confirmed hours before and when we arrived there were no cars at the location. My self and 8 others were without cars after spending taxi money to get there. The only thing they offered was 800 number to file a complaint. Never rent from Alamo again!!!!'

They picked us up from one of the all star resorts and we were in the car 20 minutes later. Super quick and efficient. Great prices also!! We were just going to Tampa for a cruise and they have a shuttle in tampa to drop you off at the port. They whole experience was awesome. Would recommend!

This team is phenomenal! We had gotten off a cruise and were frantically searching for a vehicle. every place I called were very rude and their lots were empty. Lewis and Jamie helped us out. They were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience a great one! Great job!

So we CALLED and reserved a vehicle I specifically asked if they were sure the vehicle was available they told me YES I drove all the way to Tampa! For them to tell me they had NOTHING AVAILABLE So I called The number I spoke to bet and the phone rang while I was there! Worst experience ever.

Following a cruise, we took a short taxi ride from the terminal to the Westin Alamo. After a short wait (they opened at 9 am) we were taken care of very well. Car was ready and after signing a few papers we were on our way in the car that we had requested. A very good experience.

I've rented a Alamo Car from Atlanta Airport, GA and turned in 1001 W Kennedy Blvd, Tampa. I've received very good service at both places. No extras was pushed to add. The Tampa office is Super good, in & out about 5-7 minutes. Car was clean. I'm happy with Alamo!

Car was good. Canceled first booking 5 weeks no refund. Called again said ok will give refund. Two weeks later got refund 226.00 less. Ripped my off $226.00. Company is dishonest not recommended. Scammers #### you Alamo. Never again.

Very good experience. We arrived at the Alamo Office on time, so our car was ready to go, but they may only have a limited number of vehicles there because we were offered an upgrade at no additional charge.

Small but efficient. The sign for Alamo is hidden, but the Enterprise sign is quite visible. I recommend it, but also encourage you use GPS to get yourself there. It's a little tricky to find.
