Horrible. I was warned by many of the workmanship at AutoWorks after spending thousands only to get their vehicles returned in worse condition than received, but I chose not to listen until now, my vehicle went to get checked at automobile experts for weird noises and they were shocked to hear that my vehicle had been serviced by Autoworks in April this year as the insides, filters, spark plugs, everything was disgusting inside. I called AutoWorks and they couldn't even pick up my last service on their systems yet I have the invoice and service book stamped from them on 29 April 2022. Horrible service, horrible book keeping, I am very very disappointed. In response to below comment from company, I have been servicing my vehicle only with AutoWorks since 2018,and in that time I should have had 5 services and only had 4 due to being pregnant last year and missing 2021 for which I scheduled 2022's early this year to ensure things were in order. In that 5 years AutoWorks most definitely did not only do oil changes for me as I have paid for much more in every invoice each year. I never requested only an oil change, I requested a quote based on my mileage and said yes to the full quote given as I always do, infact my huband specifically requested that you do an oil flush as an extra measure as we noticed not much was being done yet again in the service quote. All this put aside, from what the company found with the air filter they said I could have been driving for years and it would have never looked like that, which tells me something is wrong if AutoWorks serviced since 2018 but never checked my air filter when another company checked all these things as just an inspection of the vehicle for a weird sound at the tyres and not even a service. Very worrisome. Apologies for the bad review but people need to be aware and proper checks need to be done. I and family members never had issues at your Salt River branch, but have heard countless complaints from services at Milnerton, please please have a deeper look at what is happening there.

Took my car in for diagnosing a knocking noise on my suspension. I was advised it was the lower control arm bushes and ball joints that needs changing. The parts came to +-R 19 500 after buying the parts and having them fitted, Merc diagnosed the problem as the shock strut and after inspecting my old control arm and ball joints before fitment, advised that they didn't need changing. Due to the incorrect diagnoses i paid R 19 500 for parts that i now cannot return and never needed changing. My car is out of warranty and i trusted these guys as a cheaper alternative to agents, clearly that was a huge mistake. I should have paid the extra amount and went to Merc initially which would have saved me in the long run I called to complain and was advised the manager will call me, they never did. I'm baffled how they were so oblivious to a leaking shock and instead diagnosed a part that never needed changing as the problem. Be very careful when you send your car here, their inspection and diagnoses is questionable and can land you in unnecessary costs. and to add further, they also lost a wheel nut and never informed me on collection, so my vehicle was short a wheel nut on a rim which i was driving around in. ***Update*** I've read your reply below and to Clarify no one has ever called me. no miss call, voicemail ect... You can provide date and time of call and i will show you my records that no such call was ever made So will you be refunding me for the parts purchased? They were purchased on your recommendation but never fitted as it was never the problem, so the fact that you never fit the part doesn't absolve you from the actual issue. Which is poor workmanship (missing wheel nut) and lack knowledgeable diagnosis which resulted in an exorbitant cost for a customer. And most importantly accountability, because myself and i'm sure many other customers as well understand mistakes happen, but what defines or set's a company apart is when they take accountability for their actions and work on resolving their wrong oppose to making excuses.

I took the car in for an oil change November 26, 2020. When I went to fetch the car, the oil change light was still on, I informed them about it and their response was my wiring was faulty. The next day in the morning the car wouldn't start, I called the towing company and they jumped started the car and I took it back. They then told me they're going to call a technician and his call out fee is R800 and charges R800 per hour. Later in the afternoon they call and say the problem was the battery, had to pay for the new battery. I went to fetch the car, had to drive home for family emergency in NW. The aircon was no longer working, the park assist was no longer working, I couldn't operate settings on my car, yet I was charged a call out fee and additional work the so called technician did on my car. When I returned I took the car in again on 04 January 2021for another oil change since I drove long distancein the hot weather without an zircon becausetheir technicianmessed it up. I informed them about the issues I experienced after their technician worked on my car. They asked me to write them down and I did, they still charged me again for diagnosing the car. When I went to fetch the car, my concerns were still not addressed to make matters worse Mario promised to call me back on the 11 January 2021 when the technician is back at work, and I'm still waiting for the call. The truth is I am very disappointed. I feel like they take advantage of people. I payed for a service that messed up my car. Mario thinks I'm stupid, thats why he made a promise knowingly that he won't keep. When I went to fetch my car on the 05 January 2021, I checked it before I left, because I lost the trust I had in them, and I'm glad I did and took it up with them because now I know they don't care about their customers all they care about is the money they make from them even though the job was not properly done. I had a cracked tappet cover changed in 2020 on a BMW by AutoWorks Milnerton. The telling of this event is my experience and my opinion about it. The facts have their respective (subjective) interpretation. After the replacement my car would not cold-start without a problem in the idle. Although AutoWorks Milnerton tried their best to "resolve" the issue, the problem appeared after they opened the engine, and eventually would cost more than the worth of the car to fix. BMW (SMG - Century City) took photos of the timing chain and gear and said it was normal wear and tear. With 145000 on the clock, BMW 323, has one of the most reliable engines ever made by the car manufacturer. The "wear" looks like chunks taken from the gear, something that would happen if an object got caught. Flakes were also found in a newly changed oil filter. All too suspicious. If you have a problem it's very difficult to ascertain who is at fault, we are not all mechanical experts and are therefore at the mercy of organisations like these with their so called ombudsman support that seems (statistically speaking) in support of the industry. But, as a customer we do tend to feel slighted and we become defensive. The ombudsman ruled in favour of AutoWorks Milnerton, no real surprise there, statistically speaking. So, what's my point? I think AutoWorks is great for oil changes. But, I would never ever take any of my vehicles there if I need work in deviation from run-of-the mill service jobs. None the less, (all considered) put your risk where the expertise is best aligned, when selecting a partner. BMW do not employ mechanics who got less than 60% for their Matric maths, so at least that is a quality determinant. They are expensive and probably also not faultless. But, at least the probability that you won't end up with "a problem" that could cost more to fix than the car is worth, is better.

The Milnerton AutoWorks Team Million, Saadiqah, Candy and Sheldon were absolutely fantastic and professional during our interactions. My Mercedes C200 2012 arrived at the Milnerton facility on a flatbed due to cam chain failure with catastrophic ramifications. I am a new customer in such of a reputable workshop / repair service provider. My web based research pointed to Auto Works. Thank you Sheldon for taking the time to hear my story, he immediately started fault finding and kept me up to date during their analysis of the repair. Valves, cam chain, timing gears were some of the major parts required to repair the engine - the list was long. Candy, Saadiqah and Million must have special powers who arrange to get the parts in a shot space of time, some to be imported. Exceptionally skilled and humble Sheldon repaired the engine in just over 2 weeks, I am sure if we did not have to wait for parts the turnaround time would be super quick. I am lead to believe that Sheldon is a ex Mercedes Benz expert and that my repair was in the best hands possible. I can report back that the workmanship is of high quality, my vehicle drives fantastic better than before the broke down. This was a mammoth task to overhaul the engine which AutoWorks Milnerton handled with care and professionally. Thank you Guys

This morning I discovered that someone had stolen my driver's side windscreen wiper. I am a Hyundai driver, and so popped in to my local branch to see if they could quickly replace it. Hyundai wanted to put me in their awfully long queue along with everyone booking their car in for a service. Feeling this should be a relatively quick fix, and not wanting to be too late for work, I noticed AutoWorks across the way were open and thought I'd try my luck and see if they could assist me. They were FANTASTIC! The woman at reception was incredibly helpful and friendly. She informed me they'd need to check if they had stock of my wiper blades. Jan, the foreman, then came and checked my car. Turned out they were standard, and he quickly fitted the missing blade, and sent me on my way, a VERY happy customer. AutoWorks turned what could have been a somewhat miserable start to a rainy Friday morning, into a great start to my day. If this brief encounter is an example of the level of service a customer will receive from this team, I will recommend everyone bring their cars here for a service. I know I will certainly try them for my future services.

I booked my car in for a major service. I was impressed with the booking process, the quotation and the calender reminder. They also provided transport to and from home. I paid for only what I was quoted on and agreed to. I was generally very pleased with the service. However when my dad went to fetch the car and due to loadshedding they had a glitch with the payment system. The money had gone out of my account but their system did not print a receipt and as such they were saying the money might get reversed and did not want to release the car. My dad had to get into an argument to get the car released. They know where i stay due to picking my dad up and they have the car details if they need to get my personal info, in the event the money got reversed. Furthermore I had asked for the banking details earlier on in the day so that I could just eft, the responsive I received was "ok noted" with no info. I only needed to pay what was invoiced and I already had the invoice so all of this drama could have been easily avoided.

I cannot recall when last I received such great service - to the extent that I would consider myself as their client for life. My car needed an engine overhaul and due to the high cost involved, they (incl the branch manager) liaised with me to figure out the best possible solution! This really made me feel that they genuinely cared about their clients. My service consultant, Million, has been exceptional as well. Always addressing me by name, she explained to cost implication to me very clearly, to avoid any grey areas or misunderstanding. She gave me updates proactively without me asking - a sign that she is extremely well-managed. Furthermore, she went the extra mile by dealing with my insurer to get my claim paid. Lastly, even when she was not around, the team was always aware of the situation and was able to provide timeous feedback. After my car was repaired, she reminded me to take the car back for a check-up, due to the major repair involved. Thank you for the awesome service!

My water bottle for my front windscreen wipers was leaking, so it would run dry after a day because it was running out in front corner of car. So I contact AutoWorks Milnerton and say I need a new water bottle because it is leaking. I also did a service and aircon regas. R6000+ later, I take the car home, aircon cold again, awesome, running smooth, great. But wiper water not coming out. It is leaking in same place. So I find out, they replaced the water bottle of R715.45 - labour R644, was also told on collecting that they undercharged me an hours labour, to find out a week later that they replaced the bottle knowing there was nothing wrong with it. It took the tech 3min to assess and tell me it is the filter on pump leaking. Not the water bottle. But they replaced the water bottle knowing there was nothing wrong with it and never told me this. This to me is very unethical especial!!! But they happy to quote me on the filter on pump....

I’m slightly bleak with their service. Paid for a major service and a steam clean for around R5k for my wife’s Audi Allroad. Before the service I had no oil leaking onto my driveway and after the service the entire driveway is a mess. My father and I took a look for the oil leak over the holidays and found that the sump plug wasn’t tightened. We could unscrew it with our fingers, and the oil was on the minimum mark. Also the protective plate we removed only had 1 screw left in also tightened with fingers and the other main screw luckily fell on the floor where the car parks. Never checked the air filter into the cabin. It was buggered. I checked the coolant, not a drop of anti freeze. It has old water in the system. Book wasn’t even stamped, all I have is the receipt. What exactly did they do for all the money, no one knows. Considering taking the Audi elsewhere to repeat the service. No checking going on here

Autoworks Milnerton as well as all the staff gets 200% for service, quality, professionalism etc. My car went in for service, lights etc. afterwards i had a bit of a problem with lights but was working full day and could not get to the workshop. The Manager Rob actually came to my workplace to sort out the issue, not once but a few times, i have never seen or heard of anyone that gives good service like hey do, as well as aftercare service to their customers. Months into the lockdown my other front light went out and i spoke to a very nice young lade named Candy, who immediately sorted out the issue for me, after she had given me a personal call as a reply to my email. If there was a 10 star rating, i would give them 20 stars. Never in my 36 years of being in business myself have i had such great and awesome service! Thanks Rob, Candy and all else involved. you are a dream team! Lynda.

Not too impressed with the service. Got my car serviced august last year and i asked them to please let me know what I need to fix on my car as I am a woman who does not know anything about cars. They gave me a list of 17 things that need to be replaced/fixed on my car. I asked them to please send me the pricing so that i can get it done. I didn't hear anything from them. A month later I contacted them again, they told me they would have the quote for the 17 things that urgently need to be fixed by me the next day. It is now almost 5 months later and i haven't received any feedback. My car is getting to a point now where it requires serious repairs. I am disappointed as my initial experience at Auto works Milnerton was amazing, thus why I came back for a 2nd service. The 2nd time round i cannot say the same. I now need to get hold a different workshop to get the work done.

My first experience with them was good. It was a standard service. The second time I took the car for a diagnostic test for multiple issues which I thought were there. They checked it and quoted a total 30k in repairs, which mostly included changing every part I thought was causing an issue. I decided to take a second opinion at another mechanic. And they actually assured me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car, and since then I have done 10k kms with no issues without changing any parts. Ofcourse I understand that changing the part will definitely cause the issue to go away but most of the times it's unnecessary. For example the noise I thought was coming from the wheel bearing turned out to be a tyre noise. But I was quoted to change the bearing at a cost of 5000 for one bearing !!!!!! Totally not required.

So far so good...I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mario, he was Extremely helpful, happy to assist and took time to show me exactly what was/is wrong with my car. All three Front Desk employees are friendly and accommodating. Everything seems good, fine and well run. Awaiting quote (I know it is going to be a hefty price so no complaints there) but do seem to trust this company with my vehicle. Will update review further once everything is completed. I have a Fiat 500 1.2 pop manual. Seems if there is a transmission leak (according to google) and needs an annual service. I am, however, conflicted with the reviews. There is more positive than negative ratings. Anyone care to comment or even the company to contact me to assure this is a reputable branch (Milnerton) to take my car to please? Thank you

What a RIP OFF! Don't bother taking your car there. They significantly upscaled the actual requirements needed to repair my car and never returned the vehicle in the same condition as when I drove it there. I had to tow my car home, at my own cost! Car was handed back with electronic components disconnected and top cover bolts were not fastened. This all probably due to the fact that I refused to have their recommended work done. Quoted me an astronomical R48,000 which in the end only required a new VVT Intake Sensor and labour cost i.e R5200 for new part and R1300 labour elsewhere. Be glad to know that there are still honest mechanics out there. Just not this company.

Edit two years later: still fantastic service from Autoworks Milnerton. Million is so lovely to deal with and she doesn't shy away from any questions. She remembered me and we had a great chat! I really appreciate that Autoworks doesn't push you to spend thousands of rands, but rather honestly informs you about what needs to be done and what doesn't. It's refreshing and I feel I can really trust them! Million and her team are fantastic. I've never before felt so welcome to ask questions as I did while speaking to her. I'm so glad I found this place and I will definitely be coming back! I highly recommend Autoworks Milnerton.

Terrible service. After they did a service on the car, the car started having issues. We took it back under the service warranty but all they did was run a diagnostics but couldn't really tell us what was wrong with the car. It's almost like they don't have experience with cars. After paying over R7k for a service and experiencing such issues, I don't recommend these guys at all. Mind you, when my partner went to collect the car, petrol was so low, the car for stuck. They had the car for more than a week but they couldn't get a litre of petrol ❓❓ I wanna give them a negative rating for this.

The receptionist Millian went above and beyond by being super helpful and friendly , she ordered me all the parts I needed with maximum efficiency . Sean William was my Mechanic and was available to give me professional advice about my car and its running ten times better and way more fuel efficient too . I was reminded timeously by Autoworks that my car was due for a service. Booking, confirmation and a quote for the scheduled service was managed smoothly through email and phone. On scheduled service day, booking in my car was a breeze with all my details already captured from past services. I requested a quote online for a 95000km service, and received a reply within hours, plus a phone call to check that I received the quotation. Once my service date was set, I received 2 reminder emails as well as a curtesy call. On the day of service, the team kept me updated with progress and extras needed. Took my GTI in for a replacement water pump due to a major leak, the service from the staff were very friendly and helpful. They did the fitting and put the car to the test and did further tests to ensure everything is top notch. I am very happy with their service and would definitely recommend them if you want good friendly service and expert advice. Poor service, quote of R2245 received, booked service and asked them to include plugs only- counter signed quote before leaving. On collection price charged was R3545, R1300 for plugs is a ripoff. I was told that they added the air filter and that this was a “package price” this despite me not asking for the air filter to be replaced. Follow up email to me confirmed that no other repairs needed, only what was instructed! Sorry Autoworks, you just lost a loyal customer.

If only I knew that all the 8 Days they . spent with my car it would come back even worse it was smoking yes and also that they had charged me 4200 then on the 9th day they decided to surrender and I was refunded some of my money that I had payed as a deposit but I was charged 1048r for labour yet they failed to fix it i am so disappointed. Such a waste of time all they could say was your car is too it's a 1998 model because they could not fix the smoking problem

They service a varied number of vehicle brands. Their technicians are highly skilled and competent. In addition to this, I would to mention the names of two true stars and assets to your organisation, Saadiqah and Candice. They checked in my vehicle with warmth, friendliness and utter professionalism. The communicated progress and additional requirements and completion time. They remember the names of return clients and that is what service is all about.

I believe that this place has a good reputation. I have brought 2 of my vehicles to be serviced here a few times and it had gone very well. There may be a bit of a carry over as work isn't always complete on the day of drop off. They aren't as large as what the automotive dealers' garages function. I have wondered about some of the pricing as I feel some of it may be a bit much depending on what you have done. Overall it is a good, functioning service.

Took my BMW in for the Inspection II service plus aircon regas & electric window repair. During the inspection, additional work was required. The quotes were Emailed to me & the additional work involving suspension control arms brakes etc., was carried out. I was kept informed of the progress telephonically twice a day. The work has been carried out to my total satisfaction & I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending AutoWorks Milnerton.

Stay away. They did not fix the problem I sent the car in for. Diagnostic test on 16 year old fiesta came back with zero errors. Not possible. Had it redone after their work and got 6?? Found a VW HT lead instead of the original Ford ones. Cause of initial problem was a cracked coil so they got close but missed it. Sent them an email outlining the above and more. Never heard from them again. It's been over a month so don't bother contacting me.

Just had a less than pleasant service experience at AutoWorks Milnerton . Totally messed up my day and my opinion of them as a company . The 'service advisor ' could really use a course in customer relations as could the entire front office . The 'manager' has promised to call me back tomorrow to have my complaint resolved as did the head office . I will reserve further judgement until after i have heard back from them tomorrow.

Had my car serviced there yesterday and had a great experience. They were able to book me in easily and with short notice. Million and Candy were absolutely excellent. Million went the extra mile when I had an issue with my radiator and even sent me videos showing the damage. The constant updates and communication was great. From the time I made my car service booking, through the quote procedure, signing my vehicle in this morning, following up with additional work quotes, to collecting my vehicle the same day, Million was engaging, informative, helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Fantastic service! They're an RMI accredited member and an AA-quality-approved member, therefore you can rest assured that these guys are honest, and they do the service properly (with quality assurance checks and all) because they care about your car. My last 2 annual services + replacement surgery of the cooling system were done by Autoworks Milnerton and I am very happy with the results.

BP recently put the wrong fuel in my car, Autoworks was extremely quick to help me get my car back to 100% with reasonable quotes in a record period. Within a few hours of dropping my car off the inspection was done and quote was sent. A few hours later they already found the necessary parts and a day later I was back on the road again. The staff were incredible in the effort they made to get me back on the road as quickly as possible. Our road trip had led us to Cape Town on Friday before a long weekend where we had car trouble.
