Update Oct 2023: Best Buy has done nothing to remedy this. They continue to take my money for a Best Buy membership that I did not ask for and was not consulted about. Not impressed. ____________________________________________________________ I'm so disappointed with my recent experience. I have always like shopping at Best Buy and it's my go-to place for electronics and tech support. I recently had a device replaced with the protection plan that I paid for. That part was good. With the new device I wanted to add the protection plan again. The guy was very nice and found a good price for the protection plan, which was only $6.99 per month. About a month later I noticed extra charges on my credit card. When I logged into my Best Buy account to see what was up, I found the new protection plan, the old protection plan (which should have been canceled) and a Best Buy Membership subscription which I did not ask for and was not consulted about during the store visit. I have had the Best Buy Membership in the past and it's a fine plan, but I simply didn't use it and eventually canceled it. Had they suggested it (which they didn't) I would have declined it. The guy (who again seemed very nice) had me sign in a bunch of places. I guess I should have paid more attention (my fault). I assume it was an error rather than intentionally trying to scam me, but now I'm stuck with this plan that they won't cancel for a year. That's $240 of my money that Best Buy is taking from me without my consent. Very disappointing. Not sure what I'll do next time I need electronics but I'll certainly have to consider whether I feel good about going back.

I really like this Best Buy location for it's knowledgeable staff, good customer service and good selection. Granted not all the items advertised online are available however, they can get them in. Be sure to check with staff for sale prices as there can be a difference between online and in-store pricing. After I let them know I was a Google Reviewer, they politely let me know that taking pictures was not allowed by Corporate, thus the limited images. However, they were super polite and still answered all me questions about products I was interested in. If in doubt about what you need or how it works why not check out the GEEK SQUAD for all your electronics needs. I had to return something that stopped working under the warranty time and though that model was no longer available the store gave me an equivalent credit. Make sure to ALWAYS keep your receipt until after you warranty runs out. Best Buy will offer extended warranties of a lot of their products. I prefer to get them for computers, gaming and more heavy use items. Have fun!

Every time I want to buy something at Best Buy, it is a frustrating experience because there is no phone support whatsoever. The general number listed on here connects you to their canada-wide customer support and the first lady I talked to said that they are not product experts and told me to use the chat function (it doesn't even pop up on the website.. you have to go looking for it). I tried using the chat and it did not work at all. I keep restarting it and it says "sorry, our agents aren't available right now" and to try again later. I tried calling the general number again and while the lady did help me somewhat, it didn't facilitate making a decision. She said to go to the store in person, since the store "sometimes picks up the phone if they're not busy, and they don't pickup if they're busy" (not that their number is listed anywhere). I'm just trying to give you my money for a laptop. But nobody to help me out. Thanks for nothing

Went in with my partner as he was buying a few items and it was nice to be greeted and directed to the items we’re looking for right away. While my partner was being helped, I started to walk around looking at a few things I’ve been meaning to grab but didn’t need any help at that moment. However, multiple times I had attendants walk up asking to help, which is fine, but it started very feeling uncomfortable as if I was being followed around especially after telling the same attendant more than once that I was okay and just checking out a few things while the person I came with was being help by another attendant. I understand being forward it is a part of the job but it was really uncomfortable to be bombarded like that and feeling like I’m being followed and should leave because I wasn’t actively looking for something myself (while I accompanied someone being helped and was browsing in the meantime).

Always use Best Buy when looking for technology and I did find what I was looking for and at a really good price. The reason why my rating is so low is due to the worker I dealt with. The cashier clapped at me to get my attention to get me over to him even though I didn’t see him they should’ve waved and said “I can help you over here” and then once I got there, he didn’t say anything just that the total and gave me the receipt and walked away. I have to say that this is the second time I’ve experienced extremely bad customer service since moving back Alberta. Don’t know if I’ll be back to location and might try another one in the city.

I'm am so satisfied with their customer service. Yesterday I had to go there for a SIM swap after having my phone go missing and even though I had purchased the SIM at Roger's in north hill, they still got my phone going within seconds of sitting down with a representative, and at no cost to myself. Roger's refused to assist me as I did not have ID to verify my identity, but best buy simply used the info on my mobile phone account to confirm my identity. Such a relief that they were able to help so quickly and without expectations.

Not impressed with the service but that's because there was no service! Went to BestBuy on 17th Ave SW to buy a new printer. On arrival the reception area called a saleperson that a customer was headed to the printer section of the store. After about a 12 minute wait still no salesperson showed up so as I was leaving the store I was asked by reception "you didn't find a printer?" I said I did but no salesperson showed up. So disappointing, I thought BestBuy was better than that.

I went in yesterday to see if my package arrived and I was met with a very amazing man who informed me so politely and professionally that it would take one more day. Went in today and was greeted right away, approached with a smile and friendly girl who made great conversation while waiting for the package to be brought to the front. I had an issue with my work laptop on a Sunday. I was visiting from out of town and having a non-working laptop was just not an option. GeekSquad associate Vendat helped me to troubleshoot malfunctioning adapter and reinstall necessary drivers. He was friendly and professional. I was very happy...so glad I took a cab to come to this particular Best Buy. I also enjoyed discovering Mount Royal area after this successful repair - with coffee and some shopping. :)

Went to pickup an online order and that part was great, no issues there. Afterwards I thought I'd check out some comparable headphones so I figured I'd ask the guy on the floor where to find a brand I was interested in. He clicked and clattered on his device for 30 seconds then answered a question I never asked. He also had a pretty noxious odor. Think it's time for corporate to do some evaluations at this store.

I have never used Best Buy before and was not sure how it worked but I was very impressed at how efficient everything was when ordering a new vacuum.It was not in the store but came from a warehouse shipped free with Canada Post.I loved the tracking showing every step of the way progress of the order.The product is of very high quality and should last me for decades.Very happy from the start to the finish.Thanks.

Fine location if you like being followed around the store by 20 sales staff who hover and watch your every move. they even marched me from my aisle to the till, and when i said i wanted to go and double check the price of the item they looked panicked that i wanted to roam unattended. so uncomfortable. they were breathing over my shoulder every second. will not be returning to this location

Omg they literally sold my sis an empty wireless headphones, when I opened them it was empty with no headphones I was like what…. but the box was sealed, that is so shocking l think they need to be reported for fraud at this point. And the customer service l call is even worst not even willing to transfer to head manager as if they were going to be fired if they did transfer the call.

Amazing experience from Dexter the manager at this location. We were having a very frustrating issue trying to order a TV online but our order kept getting cancelled. Dexter fixed our problem, signed us up with a geek squad membership and got us set up with a TV wall mounting. He was incredibly knowledgable and made great recommendations. Would highly recommend this location in the future

This store and the best buy customer service and their gift card unit are all incompetent and treated me with so much disrespect. They practically accused me of lying because of their own mistake and when I called the customer service line whilst still at the store, they could not even check their record and frustrated me even more. I went to bestbuy to buy parts to build my own personal computer, but when I asked for advice on building your own PC their tech support doesn't know a thing about building a pc and they would just suggest to you to buy a ready made PC. Disappointed! BestBuy should hire a tech savvy who knows the best, most latest and advanced and up to date components and parts. eg. video card.

Tried to return a phone I bought with receipt. Sanya, a self proclaimed manager, spoke to me as if I was lying about everything I said and then denied the return because I was missing a part of the box even though I had the relevant parts with the emei on it and everything. He denied me the return even though another employee was going to allow me to make the return.

They lost all my computer data, my project work, held my laptop for six months, geek squad clams ignorance, management can't do anything. sent a series of emails, nothing to show. I came to buy a 65 inch tv and the customer rep Tajeeb has no info at all . provides wrong info and prices and doesn't seem interested at all to make a sale .I asked him to show a few settings on the tv and he straightaway said no before completing the question. Had a bad experience at the store and purchased on Amazon instead. Would not recommend this store.

They stopped validating/refunding parking with zero notice. Even after buying nearly a hundred dollars worth of stuff they still wouldn’t fully refund the 5$ parking from their own underground lot with big best buy signs. Just fyi if you don’t live within walking distance or need to buy heavy things.

Went today to buy a Kindle, all the workers were either busy with another customer or just talking between them . I waited 10 minutes. Then went to the register to ask for someone and they said would send a worker to help. Waited 15 more minutes and no one ever came came. They didn't even apologized.

Jodie and Russell were awesome to deal with. Jodie brought us to Russell and he made sure we got the best warranty I have ever seen on a TV that covers accidents from kids and pets. I’m not sure why you would buy a TV anywhere else with that kind of coverage. Thanks so much Russell and Jodie :)

This location is on the 2nd floor so you need to take the escalator or elevator to get access. They have some computers set up at the entrance so you can browse thier website. This location is smaller then the average Bestbuy but has everything you would want with a smaller selection.

Slow service. Walked in for a refund in evening. Notified that I needed help, waited, then had to notify multiple staff to get service again. Staff had trouble and paged another member, finally served 5 mins after. Total of 20 mins later .. Daytime service might be better.

Staff seems to lack knowledge about products they sell. I was followed around the store and then when I picked an item I wanted I was approached and the item was taken to be held at the cashier. I felt singled out and I would rather spend my money at a different store.
