We just left the Best Buy on Northland in Calgary. Horrible customer service. We shop there on a regular basis and spend a considerable amount of money and have never experienced such a lack of customer service or courtesy as we did today. We went on-line to see that BB sold a cellular booster for home and office. We saw that they did sell them and we happened to be close to the Northland location so we popped in to see them and find more info on them. We first asked an employee where we could find the boosters he pointed to the far corner but said he was going on break so to talk to someone else. This new employer sent us to the corner where the Geek Squad was. We stood there for several minutes while a few employees were talking amongst themselves. Finally, to their dismay, we asked them about the booster. Without asking any further questions they said “no we don’t sell them” We asked where we could get one and they said no where in Calgary sold them that he knows of but suggested we try a competitor that wasn’t far from them. He said they probably don’t sell them either. I showed them that the boosters are on bestbuy.ca and he said this was a marketplace and a third party seller not BestBuy even though I showed him that I was on the BestBuy.ca site on my phone. These people were so rude and condescending and could not have cared less about helping us. My husband then went to talk to another employee while I talked to the manager. I didn’t get her name but she was about as interested in helping us as the Geek Squad was. She couldn’t have cared less. I asked her if she just didn’t care and wasn’t going to do anything and she said “I could give you s $25 gift card”! Really? My husband did get help from the employee he talked to and was going to order it from another BB store in Calgary that had it in stock and we would pick it up there. By this time I did not want to give our business to the store and we left without ordering it. Whatever happened to customer service and respect and helpfulness to customers. We will never buy anything again from any Best Buy in Canada and will be sure to tell our friends and family of our experience.

This is an update review! Almost a year gap. This branch has amazing employees, they helped me over and over again until they resolve my computers issues. They all worked very hard to reach the customer satisfaction and even beyond that. Last time I came the issue with my purchase that I get laptop with a different feature from what I was looking for. The manger stayed with me so do the employees after the closing time until they match what I want and even match the price as well. I am really happy with the customer services and I appreciate it with all of my heart. Previous review! I read many of the reviews and I found people are complaining about the extended warranty. I guess I am so lucky then, we have two laptops from best buy and I purchased the extended warranty because I have kids and what kids usually do? Break things! For the last two years I returned the laptops many times and I bet that I fixed them more their prices! Lately the issue with my laptop repeatedly happened and I returned it for the same problem like 4 times and last time I went I asked for replacement became this is one of the warranty rules. I chose a new one within the same price for my previous one and left happy! The geeksquad lady did amazing job and so do everyone else. I am satisfied with their customer service and I would recommend the warranty for people who knows that they do accident usually with their stuff.

Ordered a 2000 dollar laptop. Shipped with Intelcom. Currently over 2x the delivery time and tracking hasn't been updated in 5 days. Support is useless. I barely trust Intelcom with 20 dollar junk from Amazon but shipping 2000 dollar laptops??? Insane! EDIT: Still haven't gotten it. Just called Best Buy and after sitting on hold found out their systems are down (LOL) and they can't look up my order. Apparently I can try calling back in a couple hours and it MIGHT be fixed. EDIT2: In response to the "response from Best Buy". I have called, chatted and emailed. One person on chat told me a manager would contact me by email. Didn't happen. One person on phone told me my order would be canceled and I would get confirmation email in 20 minutes and money refunded. Didn't happen. When I called back the next person was breaking up, rude and told me my order couldn't be canceled. My emails have gone completely unanswered.

Worst customer service. They don’t totally care about Customers after purchased. Nobody follow up about my issues.. Went to have a new iPhone on Nov17. I had a Best Buy gift card $225 at the store. When I tried to use a gift card, no balance on it.. I called customer service then they told me to wait next 24 hours to get call from store. I backed to the store next day to talk to mobile manager. He asked me to wait to get a call from customer services. I called to customer service again, then they told me to wait another 24 hours to get call from store.. I went to the store next day and talked to another manager Jenn, she told me that she will email to customer service to add money on the gift card, and call me back Fridays THAT WAS Yesterday. I have kept calling her she never get answer. Totally THIS IS SCAM!!!!! They didn’t give a gift card at all.. try to hookup with gift card..

Rahul (a manger of some sort) was approving a return I was making on item I purchase two days prior. I was not acknowledged and instead I got asked multiple times why I am returning it including “Why, is it too expensive for you or something ?” After multiple times explaining I had changed my mind about purchasing the item and he was questioning why I am returning it a day after I purchased it. Simply put it was annoyed to keep explaining myself to a man with a condescending attitude. Initially they wanted to refund me a part of the receipt which made no sense and I had to remind the associate that I would like a full refund especially since the item has not been opened. It was such a bother to return, honestly save your time and buy from Amazon instead. Much more straightforward

A year ago we purchased an LG refrigerator complete with 4 year extended warranty. Two weeks ago a little plastic hinge part broke and fell on the floor. Today I went to the store to go about getting it fixed. The Appliance guy ( Terry ) said go talk to geek squad. So I did . Geek squad says I have to call 1-800 number, they can't do that for me. So I did. 1-800 number says I have to fill out a service request on line. So I did. Service request was denied and I was told I need to speak to an agent, so I got a hold of one on line. After a half hour chat on line I was told the hinge was not covered under warranty ! Why did I buy a $400 warranty ? Service and support at this store was terrible as I have spent two hours, unsuccessfully, to get a small plastic part replaced.

If you like being cheated you will buy things from here and you would be even worse off if you buy their extended coverage here is why the staff know nothing about the products which is okay I can understand hiring cheap labour uneducated idiots than certified computer and electronic specialists but I digress you sell electronics when charge extra for extended coverage then refuse repairs when the company that manufactured the item is willing to do the repairs but they say oh no that's not covered! Just do yourself a favour and don't buy buy if you buy things done buy their warranty they won't fix anything. My computer wouldn't turn on and they didn't even open it just said not our problem 3 months into the purchase. Nice reply message it's the same for everyone.

I came to this Best Buy on boxing day to purchase a Chromebook, good thing I did my research prior to going because the staff were very uninterested in helping me. The staff were standing around chatting and just moved around me whenever I wanted to check out a Chromebook they were standing by. The only help I had was when I asked specifically where the model I was most interested in was, he didn't care to ask if I needed any further help or have any questions. The best part, after I bought it, that same staff member asked to take a photo of me with it so he could send it to his boss to "prove he was working"!! Oh my goodness what a joke! I am pleased with my purchase, just didn't get any help from the staff in making it.

They need to switch back to a non-automated phone service. My first language is english, and it can’t understand me at all. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had any sort of accent. They sent my laptop in for repairs almost 3 weeks ago, last week I was told that they diagnosed it, and even though I was told the repairs would be covered, I was now being informed that I had to pay <500$ to fix it. I am a student who can’t be going to the store every single day to negotiate what is going on. And the phone service nor the virtual customer service would help me figure out how to get my laptop back. And no one will send me through to the actual store. I need my laptop back…

I bought $475 worth of electronics. high end computer keyboard, high end mouse, new bluetooth wireless ear piece and a new car adapter. I asked for a bag and it was too small for the products i had. and they wanted $0.25 for this paper bag that wasnt going to work to put the products inside. The goal with the bag is convenience of not having to care everything to the car , the visual issue of people in parking lot seeing what you bought for security and why is there a charge at all for a bag after spending that much money. Way too petty of a policy and plus they didnt have what you would think is a normal bag to carry. You can do way better has a company.

I purchased a sound bar that was recommended as a great budget option and was told there was an HDMI in port on it. Upon returning home I discovered that it in fact only had optical. I returned to the store and every sales person I had dealt with was surprised and apologetic. I was taken care of and given a sales price on a different unit that was no longer on sale. I’m very happy with the product I got and everyone on the floor was extremely friendly and helpful. Ultimately some mistakes were made but they took accountability and made up for it and in todays world you can’t ask for anything more than that. Great team.

Today I wanted to spend some hard earned money of mine around 1800! I called Best Buy to see if they had the product I wanted before I drove to there store an hour away from where I live. Well it turns out the store locations do not answer phone calls, I wasn’t to happy about this since I really wanted something from there store but wanted to be sure they had it in before I went for a drive. That style of customer service is in my opinion isn’t something I would like to support, I guess I’ll order it from Amazon since they tell how many products are still available!!

  • Maneet Puri

Although I already stop buying everything from Bestbuy, as they don't carry market comparable pricing (Products, Warranty, Return (No of days) etc). apart from this, in-store and on-line discussion and post sales service customer experience/satisfaction are very bad 0 out of 10. I wanted to re-try, but my recent experience even after a discussion with sales manager in-store was very bad and below expectation, which end-up with return of product, waste of time, I don't think so will again get back to bestbuy for any future needs and requirements.

Went here yesterday to get my slow laptop checked out, instead John at the geek squad did not fix my issue. He restarted my computer with the press of a button, told me there was no solution then continued to charge me $40 for something that i’ve already done to my laptop. He did not fix any problem and was extremely unhelpful and the only advice he had was to purchase a brand new laptop. He also contradicted a lot of what he was saying and stared at my breasts the whole time. Will not be coming back horrible service

  • DairyCat TV

I went in to buy a laptop and they had a great selection to choose from. I needed more information and Alex was super nice incredibly knowledgeable when it came to all the tech. I was trying to sort some stuff out with my tech as well and Milad and Nick were super patient and gave me above and beyond service. I would’ve most likely got the wrong product form myself if it wasn’t for everyone’s help! Amazing customer service at this location and a variety of products to choose from

Not impressed at all. Went in and stood in line at the cell kiosk to order the new galaxy 4 fold phone. Didn't say anything stood close enough for the girl behind the booth to make eye contact with me 3 times. Another ethnic family came in and she immediately asks them what they want and she completely ignored me and made me feel like garbage. Felt not welcome in this store or at her kiosk. Id rather drive across the city to a different store. I Won't come back.

Went in to buy a laptop - what a great deal! Sadly that was soured by my experience at checkout. An employee started to take the security device off the laptop when we were bumped from the register by another employee who was helping a customer that paid $2000(!) in cash. In the meantime, the employee that started my transaction proceeded to ring out two other customers while I stood there waiting. If not for the great laptop deal I would've left.

Waited for 10-15 minutes before I even saw someone willing to help. Was 100% prepared to go in and purchase the new Apple series 9 watch. But I wanted to try each size on to see which fit best for me. I was told this was not possible, and that I could try on fit bit watches instead “but aren’t the same size”….. so what’s the point? Safe to say I’m not spending $600 on a whim without trying something on first. Pretty disappointing experience.

I went shopping for a 55 inches Samsung TV in this store but I couldn't get the specific one I wanted. However, they have varieties of other models of Televisions at reasonable prices. They have different electronics, household appliances, Toys, Gaming materials and computers accessories. Their customer service is excellent and their prices are quite reasonable. They have lots of parking and the location is easily accessible from the road.

Purchased an open box laptop for my grandaughter & it stopped working 2 months later. We were immediately offered an exchange after it was determined an update would not fix the issue. Tyler in the computer section was very helpful & patient while helping my grandaughter pick out a replacement. Please pass on my appreciation to Tyler & also the tall young man at the repair desk October18 @ 1pm. Both young men were very respectful.

Ridiculous policy involving delivery fees. I was looking to purchase a small chest freezer, and was told that a delivery charge of $80 would apply even though the destination is only 10 minutes away. You are better off buying smaller appliances like chest freezers at Home Depot, Lowes or Costco; companies that actually value their customers and offer free delivery at virtually the exact same selling price. Avoid Best Buy!

  • Jerald Wilks

Absolutely dismal customer service on the online chat. First rep transfers me to customer service, customer service says I need to contact geek squad, geek squad tells me they can’t help without extended warranty. So why I am I there? I ask to provide feedback…they give me blatantly false information. I don’t know who BestBuy has hired to do their online support. But it is definitely a reason NOT to do business with them.

  • thermx

Best buy is the worst I literally ordered 1 product over and over again and they would cancel my order each time. If I try and go to customer service it doesn’t work and when I ask if they have it they don’t even know what I’m talking about and they don’t even try and look for it this isn’t from one best buy but from many more please don’t shop here especially online.

  • Corey and Angelique Yuen

If you’re looking to burn 30-40 minutes waiting for someone to help you. For sure, hit this place up. Rehan, an associate got rather confrontational when he told me to stay out and not move. Sounds like “management”, need to train staff on customer service and how talking rudely to a customer could affect their job performance. Overall, this Best Buy is terrible.

  • Nicole Chaplain-Pearman

Geek Squad is great, but the online booking for in home service is terrible. It’s next to impossible to get in touch with anyone. The file on my protection plan doesn’t even list the devices I bought only a few months ago. The techs are awesome to deal with in person, but the booking service and its filing system need a serious overhaul.

  • Mah Mlk

The worst place to buy anything! Went there days ago and they offered me a price so I went again while they understood I am going to buy the device, they offered me a higher price. Even didn’t do the price matching!!! On the other hand, the manager there behaves so bad!! So unsatisfied…. Don’t recommend this place at all!

  • Jobanpreet Singh Gill

Amazing place and great friendly staff. Got a new hp laptop and a monitor from this best buy. Alex, the guy helping me was super helpful and friendly helped me set up the laptop and answered all my doubts. Was a great experience, should visit this location for hassle free experiences.

  • C. T.

I came to the store 4 days ago to buy my laptop and a Vincent gets my top service kudos. I was amazed by how efficent he was and also how he showed me the newer model of the laptop I wanted. I was very happy with my purchase. I will come back definately to see Vincent again. 5/5

  • Jess

Best customer service! Alex really took the time to explain the different TV options and let me know which one would be best for me based on my lifestyle. He went above and beyond for me. No problems at all. Thanks again Alex!!

  • Exaucé Mandono

Had a great experience with an associate called Nisar Ahmed in March when I was looking for a laptop. He helped me with my purchase from start to finish and was willing to answer all my questions. Kudos to him for the help!

  • Diamond Sullivan

Amazing Service. All the staff members were so helpful and it was nice to see them helping each other out. Great customer service like that is hard to see now a days. Keep doing amazing work :D :D

  • James Eaton

Stood around for 20 minutes waiting for help. Employees all over the place but no one came even after asking. It’s hard not to support Amazon with this kind of customer service.

  • Layne Brertton

They take your money that goes towards the repair cost and tell you they can't do anything, and still don't get refund, what's the point of the membership than?

  • Drunken Magpie

If you're a small store with no inventory, either be upfront about it or only put models on display that you actually stock in-house. Pretty simple, no?

  • Ryan Sciascia

5 stars, It is the closest best buy store to my place and I was able to find the Nintendo Switch joy-con I was looking for. I will come again for sure.

  • Declan McGarry

Very helpful employees! Specifically blaire, he was very enthusiastic, approachable, informative and helpful with the product I was looking for.

  • Nathan Williams

The customer service was fantastic. Super friendly staff. Nicholas and the staff went over the top to make sure we were taken care of. So good!

  • Dillon Hillier

Waited over an hour in line to upgrade my phone. Right as a spot opens up the rep tells me to take a seat and walks away to do something else.

  • Kim H

Went to upgrade our phones, Alex was super helpful in mobility. Very patient and friendly and helped us with everything we needed!

  • Darcy Gunnlaugson

Absolute worst salesmen in the computer section. Rude, arrogant guy had no time for me or to help. Will not buy from here

  • trump is trash

Beware. These scam-artsists will change the sale price while the products are in your cart. Buy from Amazon instead.

  • Sarah Van Seggelen

Was a bit surprised not one associate asked if we needed help finding anything for the length of time spent in store

  • Johannes Juanerio

Bought a TV a couple days ago with the help of Alex, one of the sale reps, super professional and helpful!

  • Berverline Jelagat

I was very disappointed. The screen protector they installed was mediocre and had me pay $53 for that.

  • adam kozak

Worst place ever. Ask for help and he walk away and was texting for 10min before I found him.
