Convenient place to watch your favorite movies. I was very please to be directed towards the elevator since I had to use a walker. I find that it is best to get my tickets at the movies since I can save on the convenience fee for each of the tickets i have to purchase. Question: why now that after so much time of having implementing the convenience fee don't they do away with it, think about that if they are saving money by not having to pay an individual to collect your money they should utilize that money to cover the expenses of the convenience fee! Any how, the premises ware clean, and the people helpful. Few of the things at the food and drinks counter: The soda for which I paid $ 6.00 dollars, was flat and after having to find my way to my seat using my walker. I did not had the energy to go back but I did made sure I mentioned to the individual that was holding my door who informed the counter of my complaint. The second thing I came to find out was that similar franchise in Houston, TX. Was offering free refills with the purchase of any large soda or large popcorn and at this location they continue to use COVID 19 as the excuse to not offer this let us coll it benefit. There are somethings that a franchise should offer at all of their sites and not let individual shops make their own rules since they will hurt their brand and their customers loyalty. Not sure if my comments are justified so please leave me a comment, tx.
Usually a really good experience, but tonight was frustrating. I hate to be one of those people that only leaves a review when something goes wrong, but 4 stars is still very fair for the handful of times I've been to Tinseltown. Tonight there was a group of teenage girls talking, laughing, and going back and forth shushing each other for over half of the movie. I attempted to have the situation handled by going out and letting an employee know. He immediately called on a walkie for a manager and I went back in to my movie. 30 minutes had passed and no manager to be seen, another 10-15 and the movie had ended, no manager, and the girls did not stop. Would have had a 5 star review if management had been responsive. I believe someone else from our row had gone out before me to do the same thing, but of course I can only guess on that. Great theater, polite staff, useless management.
I so wished I could give this place a five star rating but I can't and here's why. 1. The DBox seats are comfortable however the seating material needs to be replaced and 2. They need to have some sort of 3D glasses for folks who already where glasses. It was hard trying to keep both pairs of glasses on. Here's what I liked. 1. The motion of the DBox chairs made me feel like I was at Disney on a ride. 2. I bought a huge box of popcorn and I had to split it between 4 kids. Although they couldn't give me 4 small popcorn bags, I was accommodate another way. I don't want to say how and get anyone into trouble. Next time though I'll be sure to bring ziplock bags. 3. The staff was responsive to our needs when our chairs weren't working. 4. They had a nice arcade inside the complex. This was my first time here, I'll be back.
So let me vent a second. If you have over a dozen working theaters why insist on playing films in one with broken ac. With the price of going to the theater scalping the wages of working Americans who want to enjoy their evening and happen to choose this location, please have the decency and common sense to at least advise patrons of your embarrassing conditions. Staff was kind but management showed utterly disappointing care over the situation to say the least. Sitting through two and half hours and having to decide if I want to get value out of the ridiculous price of tickets, or retreat from 90°+ in the theater shouldn’t be my responsibility, I know they would have refunded me the cost but the point is principle. Cinemark in Tinseltown should be ashamed.
Showing her age but still a good experience at the movies. Plenty of theaters with plenty of comfortable reclining seats, well wore but still working. You can't adjust the back or headrest as in some theaters but they are comfy still. Concession stands are conveniently located at multiple locations with all your favorite, non-alcoholic beverages and junk foods. As with all theaters you need a small loan to pay for them but they are tasty. If you get your tickets on line, the app offers the ability to order snacks ahead and have them delivered to your seat as well. Large, well lit parking lots located on three sides with loads of handicap spaces.
We usually come to this place to watch English 3D movies, international and Indian movies, the screens are big and medium range, best sound and recliners with average seat covers. I have been to other places but this is the best to watch an Indian movie or any movie. Have various promo offers like early bird discounts, Tuesday discounts, monthly passes, and member rewards. Plenty of parking, clean restrooms, and helpful staff. Also small pizza restaurants inside Cinemark. We will keep on visiting this Cinemark for upcoming movies.
Theatres are still relevant today! Went to this place when it first opened and glad to see it is still a great place to go watch movies. Comfortable seating, clean. Do kind of miss the old days of going up there early to buy tickets and getting seats, but purchasing online and reserve seating is very convenient. There is truly something special about watching the movies on the big screen. Glad to see this place continues to keep up with a clean theatre and showing the movies on the big screen making it a pleasant experience.
We were patient with COVID, but it's over. Theater seats are completely worn and peeling. This theater should be closed and renovated. I really can't believe it's even open in this state. Do the managers not know about this? This is really silly. Plus, before the movie, they play loud background noise like people talking in a bus station. It's wildly annoying. Plus, there STILL are no free refills on popcorn even though they charge a MINT for this stuff. Higher price than before COVID when they did have a free refill.
This place has gone downhill a bit. I haven't been to the Tinseltown Cinemark since the one at Durbin Pavillion opened. Came to Tinseltown to see the new Indiana Jones movie because the seat options were better on a holiday. In theater 20, the seats were worn through and haven't been upgraded to the ones with trays and heaters. Bathrooms here have been questionable for a while. The automatic hand dryers are under powered by current standards. Movie projected well, and we did enjoy the show.
I Came all the way from Daytona beach to watch a movie , when I went to get the tickets they said they deleted the movie because nobody got the tickets, Wth does that even mean i didn’t get the tickets cause always I get it from the theater, why would I pay extra online fees . There is always something with this place cause this ain’t the first time I had to go back without watching the movie. This shows their incompetence and who ever is behind all this need to do their job better.
My husband and I decided to try a different theater from our usual place in the neighborhood. It is a bit far from our home, but it was worth the drive. Its size was impressive. There was a lot to do for families other than just watching movies. The staff was very friendly. Everything was neat and tidy. The seating was comfortable and well placed. The restroom was very clean. We will certainly return. Next time, I will try to remember to take pics.
Great theater. Comfortable recliner chairs. Carries most every movie. We go to a movie almost every week so we bought the annual membership. The discounts, points and free movies will more than pay for itself. I buy tickets online, no fees with the membership. I also order our popcorn and drinks online (20% discount) and they're ready when we get there. No waiting in line. I'm hooked. I just wish they'd show more independent films.
The place is showing its age and definitely needs remodeling inside and/or out. The place I would focus first is the chairs, people come here to sit and watch movies. So sitting on cracked faux leather seats is hardly appealing for 2-3 hours. Please reinvest back into the place since the Cinemark on Atlantic puts this place to shame from the layout to the food provided. Got plenty of memories here so keep it alive.
Movie experience was good, what annoyed me was the fact that we bought snacks and the girl said there was refills for popcorn but no refill for drink. I came back for the popcorn refill and after speaking to another staff member he said there was none and that I was wrong. The fact that the staff member was so rude it made me not want to come to this movie theater anymore. I'll take my business elsewhere
Great movie theater, has a lot of movies always playing, and the service is exceptional, there always staff to help you getting your pop corn and they also have fast food place that you can get burgers, pizza, wings and more. The seats are comfortable on the majority of the theaters, but most of them have sears damage, and some electric recliners don't work.OveralI great place,I highly recommend this place.
This isn't the closest theater to my home but it's the perfect distance between our home and our friends we usually hang with and we love it. The seats are great and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It was a real treat for them to have an employee to dress like Megan after the movie. I don't know if that was a marketing from the movie or if that was the theater's decision but I loved it either way.
I bet this place was hella classy when it was new. Overall I give the experience a B+. The XD screen was pretty big the D Box chairs were cool except for the fact that they were heavily worn. It was like sitting in grandpas recliner except this was your 46th grandpa. The food /snack service got thee order wrong but it was cool I probably was t go. A eat all that popcorn anyway. All in all I’d do it again.
This place has been great for movies. Staff has always been friendly. Food has always been fresh. Never an issue. But this place needs a dire refresh. We usually prefer going to the one on Atlantic Blvd since it’s newer and nicer. Again, just a nice renovation on this place couldn’t hurt it. Never had any other issues then cosmetically needs help. Also afterwards hit up Insomnia cookie super convenient.
I usually come to this place to watch Indian cinema, the screens are big, best sound and recliners. I have been to other places but this is the best to watch an Indian movie. They have early bird prices, Tuesday prices, member prices, and monthly pass. Plenty of parking, great location very close to Orlando premium outlets, clean restrooms, and helpful staff. I will visit again!
Tuesday are best days to go, move tickets will cost only $6 and no need to pay for little kids. Seats are comfortable but I recommend bringing a little blanket or rug to sit on it, some of the seats leathers are peeled off and won’t feel nice to sit on. We were fine to bring our water bottles as well as some snacks. My kids wait for every Tuesday as they made it move day.
I have not lived in Jacksonville for many years now and have not visited Tinseltown for ages, so it was truly a joy to come back to watch Avatar 2. I visited because it was most convenient. However, it was a joy to experience the 3D movie, the reclining, comfy chairs and see the multiple floors and concession areas throughout. It's definitely a unique theater experience.
Experience was decent, but I'm not the biggest fan of Cinemark. The luxury recliners are a bit short length and do not recline as far back as other theaters. Bathrooms had a strong oder of pee. As for the theater itself, the lights were left on the first 5 minutes of the movie. Myself and several others had to get up and find staff to tell them to turn the lights off.
Great night to visit during the week is Tuesday. All day priced at $6! Went to see "Meg 2". Purchased tickets when we arrived. To purchase online, be prepared to pay a fee. Concession items are very reasonable priced, and this theater is pretty big, so I noticed multi concession spots. Love that sits are purchased together. Seats recline very nicely and it's clean.
They have the seats that go back which is nice but they don’t go back enough for me as I’m taller so I still feel not fully comfortable. And the theater is small so good seats fill up fast. We had to deal with someone in our seats and having to ask them to move. But all around not a bad experience. Just reserve your seats early and don’t let someone take your seat!
My kids and I haven't been to a theater since before COVID but this was great. Tickets can be purchased ahead of a visit, at a kiosk inside or the window. Seating was spaced out so people weren't on top of one another. The seat selection process was easy to guarantee families could sit together. The facility was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful.
The theater was decent. Like many reviewers stated, the chairs are a little dates but comfortable. I usually visit the cinemark further south. I noticed the Tinseltown theater was more and less because they don't offer free refills like the other. The room was a but warm but there was hardly anyone in there so it didn't get too bad. I like cold theaters.
Boooooom. Havent been to a theater in years, so when my wife and son finally baited me out to see Mile 22, I was in shock. This XD theater thing is incredible! Super big recliner chairs, newly renovated theaters... impressive. I must say that my recent experience has changed my opinion of what it means to go to the theater. This place is awesome!
I took a chance on upgrading to the DBOX seats, and I was not disappointed. The movie was great, the concessions staff were super nice and helpful. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because they charge any extra $5 to buy my tickets online because I am not part of a monthly Movie Club so they can collect fees every month.
This place has gone downhill. The seats are peeling and gross. It was also muggy and humid in the theater I was in I ordered popcorn online when I purchased my ticket and didn’t get it till the end of the movie. It’s a shame because I grew up going to Tinseltown but nowadays I’d make the commute to Durbin Cinemark for sure.
Seating is comfortable however the upholstery is very worn and looked sort of shabby IMO. The bass from the film next to ours was loud and distracted from what we were watching. I didn’t think this was a problem in modern theaters but apparently I was wrong. There are several places to eat nearby after your film ends.
I’ve been standing in line at concessions for over 20 minutes and have begun to start missing the movie. No other concession stands are open, online orders aren’t being fulfilled, as a business manager I can see the dysfunction in front of me. Disappointed in my first experience back at a theater in over 4 years.
With the exception of a good movie; this theater is just nasty. Concessions are sticky as if no one cleans (good). Bathrooms are dirty. The worst is in the theater itself (we were in #9). The seats have 90% of the leather worn off, dirty/sticky buttons & smelly carpet. This place needs a major refurbishing.
First, I am a big fan of Cinemark, and we are members of their Movie Club. We usually go to a different theater of theirs, but the movie we wanted to see was sold out at our theater. This Cinemark was disgusting. The men's bathroom was swampy and poorly ventilated with trash and urine all over the floors.
Pretty good, movie quality was great. The seats were peeling, but still clean and functional. food was overpriced but that is pretty commonplace nowadays. People there were nice, albeit kinda tired looking. But it was an altogether enjoyable experience.i hope they fix the seats (and inflation) …
The movie theater is great with only one exception, the recliner seats are awful. They make you feel like your almost all the way back but not quite and they lift your legs up at the knees instead of just swinging out a foot rest like everywhere else. Other than that, everything else is pretty amazing.
I have complained couple of times about seats a year ago. At that time i got a reply saying that they are working on it. But i don’t see any difference until now. Also i recently went to movie the seats were totally torn and we felt like there are some bugs. It was so itchy and felt lot of irritation.
A friend of mine purchased tickets online so it was a breeze entering the building. They have a nice range of food and drink items. Bathrooms are nice and clean. 4* cause the leather seats were peeling and parts of it stuck to my arm, seats need updating or better upkeep. Otherwise comfortable chairs
Even the smaller theatres are nice. We happened to be in a theatre with a broken AC unit, so I'll have to give it four stars for that. I love the little ice cream shop and the mini arcade where we occasionally play Guitar Hero. Really it's a great theatre and a wonderful little hub in Jacksonville.
Great spot for the movies. The theme of the cinema is really well the staff don’t give me any hard time. Also the number of luxury cars I see in the parking lot is outstanding. People coming from pontè vedra to watch the movies in this cinema. Also there is from time to time good car meets here
Great theater. It’s starting to show it’s age (headrests on Dbox seats are work and cracked in some theaters). My wife and I watch most of our movies there using the Dbox option. The motion active seats really add to movies. Especially seeing Top Gun 2 and Ford vs Ferrari with the Dbox.
3 stars to the great service this place provides 2 stars to the lack of attention to detail. It’s super outdated, seats falling apart, neon lights outside not working for years now, extremely dark parking area compare to Durbin or Atlantic location. This place deserves a make over!!!
Tinseltown is a perfect place to watch movies. XD with DBox is great fun. But there are more changes that needs to be done. Better seats and better speakers. DBox seat were comfortable but the condition was 50 years old. Overall the movie experience matters and that is fulfilling.
The dbox chairs were a little scuffed and they don't take gift cards without a QR code or scannable code. I tried to use a cinemark gift card at the counter that had a number but no QR so I wasn't able to use it. The Staff and manager were helpful to inform me of that detail.
My friends and I had a great time visiting Cinemark in Tinseltown. There is plenty of parking available for the theater. This theater offers reservations for tickets to make check in easy. Also tons of options for snacks during your movie. I love the reclining seats here.
The condition of the building is well kept, the movie viewed was awesome. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food. I use to drive 40 minutes across town because they had the best chicken wings in town. Let’s just say, I won’t be taking that drive anymore.
Cinema is great seats were comfortable. Will definitly come back to watch more movies. Bathrooms are a little dated men's restroom does not have dividers and stalls open inward instead of outward very inconvenient. Food and drink were just fine good experience overall.
Very nice theater, seats were super comfy. They even delivered our snacks to us. Some of the leather was coming off the chairs, so when we left we were finding little black pieces stuck to our arms and legs. But other than that is was a great theater and a great movie.
Disgusting seats. They weren’t even cleaned when we went it. Leather peeling all over. Bathrooms are nasty. As soon as you enter, the stench of urine punched you in the face. Just a poorly kept theater. It used to be a quality theater but it has drastically declined.
Comfortable, clean theater with the nice chairs that are soft and recline to your desired position. Amply sized cup holder and spacious leg room. Row E was a great level in the standard theater for straight-on viewing. Several bathrooms. Open snack bar in main lobby.
We arrived to our movie and took our seats then a rude and obnoxious man starting loudly shouting racist slurs well I told managers and the team handled the problem perfectly and professionally thanks again for making our movie night great after that experience
GREAT location!! This theater was huge!! I LOVE the luxury seats they have. The food was excellent, the facility was clean, pleasant atmosphere, clean restrooms, and friendly staff!! I recommend this place. I'll visit again whenever I'm visiting!!
Much cleaner and a safer feel than some of the other theatres in the Jax area. The seats are the absolute best! They do have a bar, but only serve beer and wine. The sound and picture quality of the movies are fantastic. Best theatre in the area.
Very clean can cozy. As far as theaters I've been to it's pretty much everything you'd expect but slightly nicer. Everyone knows theater concessions are a fools prize so I won't judge them based on that (go full, avoid concessions as usual, lol).
Reclining seats were awesome! Personnel at the concessions counter were prompt and courteous. No issues with any staff. Theater was pretty clean with no leftover garbage from previous showings or other messes. Overall very good experience :-)
My experience at Cinemark Tinseltown was excellent! A tornado warning disrupted my initial movie plans and guest services provided me with a full refund without hassle. When I did finally go, the theater was clean, reclining seats extremely
Shame they let this beauty of a theater go into decline. The seats are peeling and held together with fibers at their wits end. The concession lines are outdated and need to be redesigned for efficency. Beautiful venue and a former Jax gem.
Seat were comfy but went to get my popcorn refilled and was told no refills. If I had known that I'd gotten a larger size then cashier said the sign is right there. Behind the cand on top of the fountain drink machine. Also no combo either
They were very nice and kind to us! We went as a group to take our pictures in the Barbie box ( we had already seen the movie) they let us come in and take our photos in the box! It was so fun. We bout tubs of popcorn to take home. Thank
Really nice theater. Love the reclining seats. Place was a disaster after a couple of days of Black Panther shows. Pop corn and paper towels are littered every where in the hall ways and bathrooms. Fortunate the room we were in was clean.
Not as up to date as the Cinemark on Atlantic Blvd. Could use a good cleaning as well. The movie itself was great but the only reason I went to this location was the show time. Will more than likely pick a different show time or day and
I went to see movie no hard feelings yesterday. It was a smooth experience since I bought my ticket online but just wish they had free refills for drinks. It would have made the experince over the top. The theaters were also very clean.
Online apps are great, movie club is wonderful, service is great. I am giving a 4 because there could be some refurbishing of some of the seats because you can be sitting in cracked seats with stuffing come out depending on the theater.
Needs some upgrades. For DBox seats we sat in, the start covering was practically gone. We should be paying for the overall experience and maintaining a space you're charging more for should come with upkeep. The popcorn was good.
Came here to see little mermaid, popcorn was good and the theatre was huge. I’d recommend only getting popcorn because candy and drinks are super pricey. That’s normal for a theatre though so I’ll probably be back.
Nice movie theater, but restrooms need some thorough cleaning. Some seats are peeling. They have movie subscriptions for $9.99 which gives you good discounts on concessions, but only one movie credit which stinks.
Don't come here often, the theater looked more upkept and cleaner. But seats are older and and ripped. Seats are definitely less comfortable, even they do recline. Best seats are probably still at regency amc.
Always a great experience here. Never had any issues and the staff are always friendly. Just went and watched the Goonies with the wife, and while the seats are very heavily worn, they are still comfortable!
Wonderful to be able to go to a movie theater that you can buy fresh popcorn and the staff were attentive and not stuck on their phones. Pretty clean as well. This theater is back to before COVID standards.
Just received some of the best customer service from a young lady by the name of Shayla. As employers this is the quality of customer service and company representation that we all wish to find. Thank you!
Would have been amazing but for sensory sensitive people like my teen son, the extreme volume with even louder action segments was hard to handle. Took away from his sense of safety and enjoying the movie
Matinee was $15! I guess they are making up for the lack of patrons. Went to see the new Indiana Jones movie and I don't think 20 came to see the movie. Streaming is nice but nothing beats a large screen
Nice relaxing seats. Realy enjoyed the mission Impossible movie in XD I think its called. It has motion seats and a big screen and you can control the amount of motion that you want to experience …
The D Box seats are a very nice experience for the movie theaters' experience. The materials used to cover the seats were peeling like crazy and cosmetically wasn't nice to see. It performed well tho.
This place is big but not very well taken care for, seats are old (ripped and peeling) not super clean and they need to lower price on large popcorn if they are not going to bring back the refills!!
The employees were all very kind. The snacks were yummy. The seats were very comfortable. The only complaint I have is the seats were very worn out. However, I would still recommend this theater.
It's OK, if possible go to a newer theater. You get better vibes, and in most cases free refills for the same price. I don't know why this place charges the same for concessions with less value.
It has become old. Seats are torn out. But still ok. Sound is not so good. Doesn't give the effect of watching movie in a theatre. It's like watching on big screen at home. Big parking space.
I drive 25-30 minutes just to use this theater. The seats and screens are just so much better than any other in Jacksonville. Tickets are worth the price, popcorn on the other hand, meh.
My husband and I took the kids to see the trolls movie. It was a great experience. It was nice and clean. The seats were comfortable. The snacks were on point. I'd definitely recommend.
Idk where the 5 star reviews are coming from because every single chair is ripped torn or completely worn out in the XD theatre. I’ll be taking future buisness to cinemark on Atlantic.
This theater reminds me of my yesteryears in a poverty stricken third world nation. This place could also be a new category of how things would look if there actually was a 4th world!
Great staff super friendly, arcade room to relax at before movie starts, you can buy blankets for the theater cause it do be cold, nice and clean movie rooms, just a great experience.
Loved the movie! Transformers current and wonderful movie the theatre employees are nice and they are friendly and the seats that my son had secured were there just waiting for us!
I spent three hours there yesterday watching "Oppenheimer." I think you had the thermostat set at 85. It was miserable. Also, the seat upholstery was worn out. You can do better.
I love this movie theater!!! I wish I had known this place earlier!!! The reclining chairs are awesome! So comfy :-) I would say it is the best movie theater in Jacksonville!
The theater itself was good. The food was horrible - the hamburger was barely warm, tasted of cardboard and had no lettuce, tomato, onion etc. I prefer the Indy theaters .
Staff was kind and attentive. Movie volume was borderline too loud and the leather on the wornout seats is heavily used and peeled off onto the back of our legs. …
Nice and clean. Seats are good, foot rest and reclining, etc. All the staff I interacted with were friendly. Prices seemed to be lower than some other theaters.
Lots of fun like it should be. Clean theater with comfortable seats. The eating area is never opened though and the arcade is something that needs updating.
A great theater experience. Comfortable seating. Great surround sound audio. The food is great, and you can have an adult beverage. Though a little pricey.
i never liked how they don’t do free refills on drinks. they need to clean more often and upgrade some of their seats because some are old and squeaky.
This location was great! The staff were friendly, and the theater was clean... Even the restrooms! We enjoyed our visit and felt like we were at home.
Nice theater. Very well staffed. Minimal wait time at the concession stand. The stadium seating is well done with no obstructions in front of you
Love the movie club and can order food and drink before hand. Seats need a little upgrading but other than that experience is always great here!!
Theater is well maintained, but the seats have a lot of wear and tear. Still a great experience. Will always recommend Dbox over everything.
Nice theater. I actually worked here as a teen... shucks I'm in my 40s now I take the children often and we always have a good time …
Very nice cozy Cinema theater with different options... Great food service to buy or delivered to your seat. Seats are reclining cozy
Love this theater. Nice and comfortable seating. Lots of handicap parking. Bar added. The environment is safe. I always enjoy myself.
Movie was amazing but experience was not. Did not expect to get charged full price for a large popcorn refill and large drink refill
