Love this theater, the staff at the snack/food counter are super fast and efficient. The prices on food are only slightly on the high side, unlike the big chain theaters. We usually get the Rick and Morty and something else, this time we tried the bahn mi and it was pretty good but that Rick and Morty is fantastic. I'm a meat eater but I just can't resist ordering that vegan dog. When you order your meal you get your drinks but the staff gives you a pager and they deliver the food to your seats. I'm usually so involved in the movie that I don't even notice the pager going off and then someone drops off our food. So perfect. You can bring your own wine for a corkage fee but they have some very good prices on beer and wine. You can get tall boys for around $3 and they have a few local brews. Buckets of 5 are $15ish I think. Excellent local theater

Love it!! This place has always had a place in my heart. I'm so happy to see that it's has a new lease on life and can continue as an entertainment venue. I spent most of my early-mid twenties partying here when it was Club 5 and have so many great memories of this place. I left Jacksonville for a while and this is my first time here since it became a movie theater. I wasn't dissapointed. Get one thing out of your head; this isn't a Cinemark or a high dollar theater. It's an old building but the experience was great. Big bowls of popcorn, beer, pizza, delivered right to the table and an amazing sound system. There's not a lot of seating, but that's ok. The seats are kind of uncomfortable, but that's ok . The vibe more than makes up for it. I will absolutely be back many more times. Thanks for bringing me back to this building.

Imagine if Mellow Mushroom, the Florida Theatre, and your favorite mom-and-pop joint all had a baby together. If you've never been here it's worth going! Excellent food, lots of vegan options; decent beer selection (get the bucket of beer; you know you want to). Their pizzas are delish! Fantastic service whether at the counter, the bar, or once in your seat (they'll bring the food out to you!). There will be a line for food pre-show; get here ½hr before your film starts so you can get parking and order your meal. The pre-show serials/cartoons/shorts are always worth getting here early for as well, and no, I don't mean movie previews or advertisements for concessions. I'm not even a big movie-goer but this place is a blast. If you're unsure, just go on $5 Tuesday! --- I have updated my review with new information, 2023-09-26.

Even the hurricane wasn’t going to stop me for my 1st visit to the awesome Sun Ray Cinema! Gladly the theatre remained opened during the inclement weather that’s passed thru during the day. A beautiful historic building filled with movie memories. I attended “The Cramps & The Mutants” documentary screening. Not only was it cool to see some music history but was a pleasure finally getting to visit the theatre. Seating was comfortable. Interior is clean and very spacious throughout. Staff working were very courteous, friendly and professional. Special shoutout to “Rachel” for sharing her smile and sharing information regarding the theatre and future visits. It was a wonderful and fun experience and I look forward to returning to see other great screenings!

I wanted to love it. I love the movie theater but my husband and I ordered a small pizza fried pickles with a vegan Ranch and two vegan milkshakes. It took almost an hour to come out. There was only another couple in there and they were already eating. in my opinion the pickles were an appetizer with the milkshakes they could have brought that out first they didn't and everything came out at the same time. The pickles and the vegan Ranch awesome the pizza was just ok but small. It was over 40 bucks for Just the Two of Us. We were still hungry and we went next door for popcorn. In my opinion the bathroom could have also been cleaner. I might try them again if I'm watching a movie Next Door but I hope that they work out some Kinks as they're open longer.

Sun-Ray Cinema isn't just a theater. It's an experience. From the awesome art that adorns the inner walls, to the friendly staff and incredible food, right down to the vintage historical feel and design of the theater itself, the place is packed to the brim with personality and charm. Plus, the you can't beat the delectable popcorn at half the price of the big chains. Despite growing up in Jacksonville, I only recently visited this place for the first time, and let me tell you, I regret not seeing a movie here sooner. I'll definitely be frequenting Sun-Ray from now on. There is nothing I dislike about this place! If you're in Jacksonville and love to have fun, go see a movie here! You won't regret it!!!!!

Best Cinema around! The food alone is enough of a reason to go see a film here anytime, the layout of the seats and tables in the theaters even lean into this aspect. There's a good amount to choose from, and it's much more satisfying than the overpriced concessions at all the other theaters. The overall aesthetic is so unique and interesting as well. They also tend to have a much more interesting selection of movies they're screening. At all of the showings I've been to, there hasn't been any technical difficulties, and the picture and audio are always of great quality. Couldn't think of any complaints if I tried! This place is absolutely worth checking out and supporting

A vintage theater with old-fashioned quirky charm! Independent, so it screens all sorts of things that the big chains do not. The seats don't recline, but there is an interesting feature of a long, narrow tabletop in front of each row of seats so you can spread out your food & drinks and have plenty of space for everything. Right in the busy heart of the busy 5-Points/Riverside neighborhood, the area is friendly and walkable if you want to make a full day of movie and lunch or dinner. There is plenty of free parking in the general area and behind the theater building, but you might end up having to walk a bit after you find a space so plan your time accordingly.

Best theater in Jax! Seen so many amazing movies that would never show in a mainstream theater. I love going on Tuesdays when tickets are 5 dollars. Not only do they show great movies, but they’re always hosting great events, like *free* screenings of the Jags (a particular favorite of mine being their *free* screening of the Succession finale) The food is also amazing and reasonably priced, though it’s a shame they’re always out of ice cream because their shakes are bomb. The small theater offers such a personal experience for all movie-lovers, and you can tell how passionate they are for film and how much effort they put into making the best experience!

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and this is now one of my favorite theaters in Jacksonville. It has a ton of personality. The popcorn is delicious and they serve it in actual bowls not paper bowls. They have beer in bottles, cans, local beers, and on draft. They also have wine. Their prices are very reasonable and not like the big chain theaters where you will pay 6 bucks for a small drink. They also recently built a new theater room near the entrance and I got to watch Monuments Men (the movie sucked), but it's an awesome movie room! If you've never been you are totally missing out. This place is worth the drive to see a movie.

  • Allyson Tatertuft

We came here after Christmas with my fiance's brother at his recommendation. I will honestly never go to another commercial theater again if I can help it. The atmosphere is hip and cool, their paintings outside of the theaters drawing your eye to every corner of the place. Their popcorn was delicious and such a great price as well! I never knew I needed pepper on my popcorn, but now I do. The staff was friendly and you could tell they genuinely loved the place. The tables in front of the seats were unlike anything I'd ever seen before and were so original! It is one of my favorite places to go and I can't wait to go see another movie here!

  • Dillon Thomas

Absolute garbage service! Don't even waste your time with this place. There is a reason it's failing and has less than 30 people for the only movie they are playing. You get what you put out. Don't be surprised when you all lose your jobs because you can't deliver a simple food order. Honestly the worst theater I've ever been to and to be treated in such a way and threatened to be kicked out because we were talking before the movie even started, late start too, is completely ridiculous. Will never be back and really hope this place gets demolished for something decent.

  • iamwlee

Absolutely love this place for the food and homey ambiance. However, the one thing gets me EVERY time is the smell. At first I thought it was maybe something they were cooking or maybe had burnt in the kitchen. But after revisiting this theater multiple times I now notice it every time. Started talking to other people and they now notice it too. Wondering if we are the only ones? Does anyone else know what I’m talking about? Have you experienced this as well? Love to keep coming back but the stench (especially in theater 1) is almost keeping me from coming back.

Move over, Angelika (movie theater chain that features independent and foreign films)!! You were my favorite venue in Washington D.C., but you just got served by Sun-Ray Cinema in Five Points, Jacksonville! Steeped in history too, I learned Sun-Ray was the first theater in Florida equipped to show "talking pictures", it opened in March 1927. The eclectic decor and general vibe make for a great immersive experience, the perfect atmosphere in which to watch The Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story. Looking forward to my new relationship with you!

  • Ed B

We've been here more times than I can remember now. Not just your standard movie theater food selection. Beer on tap at a reasonable price and service at your seat if you order any thing that needs cooked. Great come when you walk in and the movie selection is unique. It only had two screens but I recommend trying both. The small one up front is enjoyable because it's more like having a man cave at home. The larger one is great because you aren't packed in tight. Newer and very comfortable seating. Ghibli fest movies are played there.

  • Katie Shields

I want to love this place …but I just can’t get excited about the idea of seeing anymore films here. Tonight we watched Marcel in the Shell….the theatre was so hot inside it was stifling, it made you want to pass out. The inside smell is horrible from the time you enter the lobby. A couple also decided to bring their 4 year old which made for a horrible experience for all involved (not the theatre's fault but cmon people). The screens are small, seats tiny and tore up, and not a comfortable or relaxing place to be in general.

  • Ham burglar

I drove hours to finally come check out Sun Ray and know what? Its so much MORE punk rock that I thought and i loved it. It made me immediately root for it. If I lived here, I'd frequent every day. They show the current movies at all your local cibemas, but they have alot if cool, independent, oddball programming that you can catch most days of the week. They sell beer and wine only. They have ciders and they sell funky snacks and sandwhiches as well. I dug the place and plan on going back soon.

  • Leo .S

This is by far the best movie theater that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. What's not to love? Their popcorn is the absolute best; their food is excellent; the employees are great and make you feel welcome; the building is historic, very clean, and decked out with awesome décor and art that all combines together to create best movie-going atmosphere. I've been going to Sun-Ray for years and I refuse to go to any other theater. This is also a good local businesses run by good people!

  • Nathanel Johns

Pitcher of Beer + Exotically Seasoned popcorn + action movie in a retro theatre= happiness. Thats it, thats the review. Just kidding!! Im only visiting the Jacksonville area for now but what a find. What a great value, what a great concept, what a premiere location. Got a pitcher of beer and two popcorns. Love the wide array of popcorn seasoning because no other theatre ive been to has Jerk popcorn seasoning DELICIOUS. Saw the Indiana jones movie and it was a perfect afternoon for it.

  • Heather Henderson

The only movie theater worth going to. It has a really nice atmosphere and they're pretty serious about making sure people are quiet during a movie. They also tend to show different indie or foreign films you might not see anywhere else in addition to the big blockbusters. The food is so good and they have a great selection of vegan/vegetarian stuff! Whatever they put on the popcorn is the bomb. Can't beat a movie theater that sells buckets of beer and brings your food to your seat.

  • Cooper Vlogs

Historic theater that is really special, in this day of big corporate cinema. Good food, friendly service. For me it also had the added nostalgic value of being the old Club 5 building. Had many interesting evenings there, a eon ago. Plus if you're a Twin Peaks fan, they gotta room just for you. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Also, they have real old school nachos. Not these new pudding cup sized funky tasting things. We're talking cheese, ladled on. Grab extra napkins ;)

  • Quinn McCarty

From the people to the environment, this place is extremely pleasant to visit. What they lack in quantity of movies they more than make up for in the quality of them, and at a lower price than other, larger theaters. The tables in the viewing rooms make watching a movie and trying to eat at the same time a pleasant experience, when I first heard of Sun Ray, this was honestly the thing I was the most excited about. Overall this place is absolutely fantastic

  • Christopher Mullen

Very relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced, decent quality (for a movie theatre) food. Comfortable, if not luxurious, seating. Don't expect huge screens with XD, MD, DP or any other techno acronyms...this theatre is pretty much old school. Only complaint is the quality of their wines. They could do with a better selection...well, they could do with actually having a selection. Otherwise, a great place to movie watch. I would definitely recommend.

  • Andrea Durand

To say the truth my expectations weren’t high. However it impressed me. The service is awesome, very polite, understanding and professional. They have vegan options and that for me is a big plus. We ordered the the Rick and Morty which my husband loved and I ordered nacho and cheese which it was very good as well. The seats and sound were very good as well. The only thing that was a little tedious was to find parking. I would definitely recommend.

  • John Hootman (Shoot It Raw Photograph)

Great place. Been here a few times. It's nice to get a beer and a pizza and sit to enjoy a film. For me, this is better than the standard theater experience. It's not a large place, just one theater, I think, but for a nice night out, it works. Parking is typical in this area; you have to find a spot during busy times. Besides its size, the location is a classic in the riverside area. So many restaurants around to choose from. Have fun!

  • Roxanne Henkle

The perfect neighborhood cinema theatre. Back in the old days neighborhoods in cities across the US had their own local movie house. Many have closed or have been repurposed. Sun Ray Cinema has been lovingly restored and made awesome by having a smaller theater. We die hardship are always treated to obscure videos and shorts before the coming attractions. We in the neighborhood are very grateful to have Sun Ray in our neighborhood.

  • Dee

This is my favorite theater. I am not a big movie person but because of this theater I will go see movies that I normally wouldn't even consider watching in the theater. Their popcorn station is the best and you can get buckets of beer for cheap. Surprisingly their hummus and veggies are very good as well. It's such a cute old school theater with an amazing staff and I love that they show interesting movies and blockbusters.

  • Taylor

I had a fantastic time here! The prices were reasonable, and the food looked awesome. Even though I had already eaten, I couldn't resist trying the popcorn, and it was delicious! The sound and viewing experience were top-notch. I also love how each seat has table space right in front of them. I enjoyed this experience more than I have any big chain movie theater. Highly recommend for a happy movie night!

  • paigealake

I took my girlfriend on a date here last night, and we both loved it. Sun Ray cinema is a cozy cinema tucked in five points, located in Riverside. The staff are friendly, and extremely accommodating. You can order entire bottles of wine, and have it right in front of you during the movie. They have the BEST topping station for popcorn. If you love small indie cinemas, or a cute date night, this is the perfect place.

  • Dylan A

The atmosphere that they create here is unmatched. They have 2 Cinemas here, with the larger seating more than 50 people. You can order food and more importantly beer here while you watch your movie. The staff is always very nice and helpful. I only have good things to say about this place. Even when I moved away, I still tell all my friends about this movie theater. This is my all time favorite. 5 STARS. Must go.

  • Matthew ciereck

Okay, tried this place out today. Very little seating, they only serve soft drinks in single servings thick glass bottles that cost $3 a pop. The food took over an hour and a half to actually get to our table and my wife’s pizza actually came out cold. Two small pizzas (one cold) an order of fries and 4 drinks total cost me just around $50. The atmosphere was cool for about 15 min. Will definitely not return.

  • Rachel Aaron

This theater is great for dates. The staff is very friendly. It's an older theater with paintings on the walls and a fun selection of food and beverages! Gives you an "old time" feel. There are only two screens so movies are limited and they show both new popular movies as well as independent films. If they played all new movies I would come here every time! They play White Christmas every year and I love it!

  • dave gunn

Favorite movie theater in the country. The fine folks here really just keep upping the ante with every project they pursue, from the Pizza Cave and the immense vegan menu they’ve made available, to the drive-in theater they built themselves. Sun-Ray stands out amongst all the theaters I’ve visited in my travels, and I will find an excuse to eat or watch a movie here every time I’m in the Jacksonville area.

  • Rachel

Best theater in town! They have awesome food including vegetarian and vegan options, beer and wine, and runners to bring your food after you get settled in the theater. They take the peaceful movie watching experience very seriously. I have never had a problem with rude patrons here, which is a recurring problem at many theaters in town, and they have a fantastic selection of films and events to attend.

  • Michelle Parmentier

This was our first visit to the Sun Ray and we loved it! Definitely a throwback, right down to the 3 pinball machines and the photo booth! Loved the menu of food available. Had the popcorn, which was terrific, and a cheese/ham pizza that they delivered to our seats. Yes, the seats were a bit old and not recliners(lol) but we will definitely be going back! I highly recommend seeing a movie here!

  • Joy Leming

NOT at all like the big chain movie theaters. I absolutely love this place. It only has 2 screens so showings are limited, but the place makes up for it. The seats are comfortable, everything is clean, the picture and sound are outstanding. They also have an extensive menu that accommodates all diets. The customer service is great and it's completely affordable. I would highly recommend.

  • Bri

They have amazing vegan options here, I love it! Their food tastes fresh and not microwaved. It's much more friendly and casual, with cheaper tickets. I can get a full meal here, plus my ticket, and it come out less than chain stores. their popcorn is to die for,I swear! There is nothing like Sun Ray and I mean it. My bf come here once a month for a date and the atmosphere fits it.

  • Alisha E

Really cool place. Didn't realize they serve actual food (I didn't eat, but everyone said the food was great), and the theatre is set up with long tables in front of the chairs. Makes it really easy to eat or drink. They have beer and wine too! Great location, great staff, and just a really cool environment. I did get a little chilly, so if you are cold natured, bring a sweater.

  • Ashley Elliott

The theater is very clean and staff are exceptionally friendly. The prices for the food I bought (popcorn and candy) were great- plus you get free popcorn if you have a library card which is awesome! The movie quality (sound and picture) was perfect and I love the atmosphere throughout the theater! I'm very happy to have this theater near my home and will be visiting again soon!

  • Vicki Fairfield

We love this place! Retro style theater, yet the seats are still incredibly comfortable with plenty of leg room. They have some yummy food, including some vegan friendly options. They play everything from current movies, to older movies, and TV shows. A great way to spend the afternoon. They also serve beer and wine so ya know, that's always a plus.

  • Sarah Cantor

love this classic historic theater full of character & charm. also, they have great food. I love the jacked up grilled cheese, pizzas and hummus n veggies as a healthier option for movie food. only down side is that the seats aren't as comfy as the reclining seats at some newer theaters. but overall FAR more interesting to see a movie here!

  • Audrey A.

I LOVE Sun-Ray. Food is really great and the set up in the theaters makes it easy to eat and watch a flick. Great for seeing indie films, but I really love going to watch re-releases of classics. Like in October, they show classic horror movies. I saw the original Susperia there for the first time. Seeing that in the theater was Awesome!

  • Corey McIver

I'm not from Jacksonville and had no idea what I was getting into with this theater. Pleasantly surprised for the first day of Avengers Endgame. Concessions were plentiful and at great prices. We had a great time and the surrounding area was full of things to do before and after the movie. Thanks for a great experience!

  • Todd Kellison

You walk in and right away the atmosphere is amazingly cool and fun. I brought my three high energy grandchildren in and they loved it and I have never seen them so calm while eating. The pizza was some of the best pizza I have had since moving from New York 15 years ago I would recommend this for anyone close.

  • Tom Crews

Watched a screening of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 and 2 on a 35mm projector....was badass!! I ordered their Cuban sandwich and it was pretty good! it was my first time there, overall I had a great time!! Looking forward to more screenings of classic horror films! I shall return …

  • Eddie Warren

Great, well priced food, drinks, and desserts. Let's not forget the movies and the unique pre-trailer clips and vintage clips. Support local by going to SunRay. The pizza = delish, the Cuban = GET IT, the popcorn = nostalgia in a big metal bowl like mom would make with $1 refills. Support local.

  • Summer Breanna

From the food, to the service, to the overall atmosphere, Sun Ray Cinema is a 5 star experience every time. They have the absolute best theater popcorn and food with great prices! Staff is always super friendly and we have a wonderful time every time we visit. Can’t recommend this place enough!

  • Sherri Meadows

Love this theater. As a child I would go to this theater when it was called The Five Points theater, so it holds great memories for me.. The staff is great and the pizzas are delicious. The concession has a large food menu and plenty of goodies. They bake their vegan gluten free goodies.

  • Nora Waters

BEST THEATRE IN JAX HANDS DOWN. Not only is the atmosphere creative and clean, but they offer an awesome variety of food (not just nachos like every other theatre) and even different alcoholic drinks and baked goods. To top it off, the employees are so kind and make you feel at home.

  • Angela Baranowski

Very cool environment to eat your meal while you watch a movie. Food is excellent! Many vegan options also. Coffee and beer milkshakes highly recommended. Love the Falafel wrap and the loaded fries. Only negative is that the movies are limited to 3 that are not always top choices.

  • John Trainer

The seats and the theaters look somewhat low-rent, but the Service is top notch. Screens are bright and the sound is excellent. Good food, but prices are a little high. Parking can be a challenge, too. Would definitely go again, but perhaps not for the blockbuster action films.

  • Tim Buist

Great independent movie theater. Just a couple of screens. Projector and sound system are good. The have a pretty good menu that includes small pizzas and shakes among other things. It is a very different vibe than large chains. It may not be for everyone, but I really like it

  • Michael Liddell

Food is amazing and very well priced. We tried the chicken salad sandwich, and a few different pizzas, everything was too notch, really great service as well. The atmosphere is also very cool, almost feels like you're at a theme park or something! Will be returning soon.

  • Victoria Prybell

This is the best movie theater in Jacksonville! It is way better than the normal chain movie theaters. The food is so good and the atmosphere is very friendly and unique. Even if we’re not dying to see the movie, we’d still go to Sun-Ray just for the awesome experience.

  • Deb Talley

This place is loaded with nostalgia! The SunRay is always our first choice of cinemas when they host a movie on our must see list. It makes for a fun date night! Enjoy your favorite beverage with a side of popcorn served in a tin bowl meant for sharing or not! …

  • Kyra Temple

I love this place! It's always so empty though. The pizza is yummy. I love their boozy rootbeer floats too. They have great vegan options that my sister loves. The walls are decorated like a cave and they always have great music playing. Definitely recommend!

  • Jeanine McGuire

Neighborhood cinema with a cool vibe and food brought to you at your seat. They have local beers, wine, cider, pizza and lots of good eats, including vegan and gf choices. There’s movie candy in the dessert case too. And lots of free toppings for the popcorn.

  • Meagan Wolson

This place is amazing. Great food with vegan options, and so many popcorn toppings! They always have great movie selections and super fun events. The staff is really great and so is the atmosphere. If you havemt seen a movie here I highly suggest that you do.

  • Jessica Peters

By far our family's favorite theater. Best popcorn in town, make sure you head to the toppings bar before you go to your seat. We're also huge fans of the pizzas and fried pickles, and I just discovered this evening that the salads are absolutely fantastic.

  • Jason Bailey

I attended the movie premiere of Cry for the Bad Man, which was my first time visiting this theater. The staff was super friendly. Food and drink selection were great. They even bring your order to you during the movie. Can't wait to go back. Had a blast

  • Claudia Levin

It's a whole experience vs. just a movie theater. The screen and sound system are just as good as a chain of theaters. The food is so good! I had the pretzel with cheese dip - it was delicious! They also have WINE!!!! The lobby is full of fun astectics.

  • SolosTarot

It seems so iconic, yet when you are seated in the theater with your beverage it seems very cheap, dirty, and gross, could be amazing only if the theater was gutted completely and everything it is new. My seat was very torn and gross. Wouldn't return.

  • Chris Spohn

Love sun ray. Top notch spot for a movie and snacks. In a historic spot in great shape. The owners care lots about film, Cinema, and the whole experience. Always good for movies and atmosphere and amenities. Check the website for times and movies.

  • Joanna R.

Absolutely loved this movie theater! Love that they have the retro vibe going. My favorite aspect is how sustainable they are being by trying to serve everything in reusable bowls and cups. Going this weekend and I can't wait to try the drive-in.

  • nathan laney

By far my favorite place to watch a movie. Great food and good beer selection. Godbold pizza is my regular go to. Saw El Camino: a Breaking Bad movie tonight and was handed this little bag of rock candy that resembles Walter and Jesse's recipe.

  • Sherwin Orpilla

Nice and quaint theater. I went to see "Ford v. Ferrari" and the picture quality is clean. The sound is very crisp. Nothing too gimmicky. I only wish there is more at the concession booth outside the theater. Overall, awesome experience.

  • Steve OTOOLE

This place is so cool. Maybe the oldest business in 5 Points. To see movies on the Big Screen is really a treat. So much room inside. Old School for sure. Very good selection of food and drinks. If you never have been, try it out.

  • J Martinez

We love this place! We don't usually do many of the old cult classic movies, but to catch a new movie in a fun setting with good food delivered to your seat, I'd much rather support this place with $50 than a huge chain with $30.

  • Soul Warrior

It's such a risk(my preferred place) to express how much I enjoyed this theater, food and wine is beyond 5 stars compared to any theater. Try them once and you'll continue to choose ... This one. . Indeed it's been a pleasure.

  • edwin turner

Great spot in historic Five Points with two screens. Excellent popcorn and a fantastic rotating beer selection. Family friendly, and Tim and his crew bring films to Jax that might not otherwise make it here. Love the place.

  • Nick Staggs

Great mom and pop type of movie theater that serves beer, wine and food. When you order food they bring it right to your seat when it's ready and you have a little table in front of you. The fried pickles were delicious!

  • Virginia Evans

I absolutely LOVE Sun-Ray! It is so authentic. Has everything you SHOULD feel when going to the cinema. AMC and regal and all those other corporate chains just don't feel real anymore. This will forever be my home base!

  • Sean

Best movie theater experience I have ever had. Great food and drink options, while being reasonably priced. So much character here and the employees actually care about the place. Will only be coming here from now on.

  • Alaina Bahler

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful date here. Small and intimate theater so every seat is good and good amount of leg room. I liked the wooden table in front of seats so drinks and food don't have to be in your lap.

  • The Glorious Raponator

Love this theater. My only complaint would be the seats, not the most comfortable, seems like the original seats from when it used to be a theater. Food was good, drinks are great. They have Boylen's soda on tap!!

  • Cynthia Patterson Roberts

Love this cute quant theater. It has a home feel with the tables in front of the theater chairs and the popcorn served to you in a metal bowl just like you were home. View your next movie there, you'll love it!

  • Jodi Wood

Nick is AWESOME, we broke down last time we visited he loaned us his personal jumper cables out of his vehicle. He was so professional and kind we thought he owned it!!! This man definitely deserves big raise!!

  • Rob Anonymous

One of the coolest experiences in Jacksonville. I love watching a great movie and then in the middle of it, have delicious pizza and beer delivered to me. A must try. I hope this business stays open forever.

  • Leila Burton

I absolutely love sunray! It's always cheaper than a regular theatre, food is delivered to your table, and they have a good drink selection alcohol and non alcoholic alike. The drive in is a great time too!

  • Paige Chamblee

My favorite theater in town!!! Their ambiance, atmosphere, aesthetic -- everything is just too cool. They often have a great selection of movies and their food is DELICIOUS. An experience like no other.

  • Adam Putman

I love the atmosphere of the theater. It has such a classic and original style that is rarely found in today's theaters. I will go out of my way to go there to view horror movies I'm interested in.

  • Iz

This place is a treasure! Way better than any big name cinemas. The food selection is fantastic, it’s always clean and other viewers always have great etiquette. My favorite place to go.

Great food and very reasonably priced movie tickets. Love how there is more space between the rows than a typical theater too. It's so nice to he able to support a local theater.

We absolutely love Sun-Ray. The movies are incredible, the menu is delicious (and loaded with vegan options), and the movie selection is a mix of classics and latest releases.

Tim and Shana run an awesome business with SunRay and the Pizza Cave. Gluten free and vegan options help my lovely wife enjoy herself. Cheap movies for Tuesdays are a treat.
