After $55 tickets, $84 food (our choice) to go to see VIP Avatar Way of Water last night, such a disappointment. Not the movie itself but the Cineplex tech offering. The 3D mehhhh, the screen was dark to the point I was straining to make out images (albeit the glasses were almost sun screen dark and I had to try four pairs to get one that wasn’t marked up; when you lifted the glasses you could see such a difference from the dimmed lenses). The colours were muted to mostly greens and blue greys. The resolution wasn’t clear. The seats didn’t recline and the leg room I couldn’t stretch even, during this long movie so I was getting cramps. Everyone sat still in their seats and all you could hear was munching. Even the sound rendering wasn’t impressive. Contrarily, I had been to this same movie 3 days before at Landmark 3D. Throughout the movie the audience moved and shrank in their seats to the 3D experience, truly wondrous, ooooed and awed, and you could hear interactive wows as the movie played. The screen was bright, the glasses clear and not darkened. The colours were bright and definitive, you could see every leaf, the colour differences between the two tribes, all the amazing colourful marine life and intracacies. And the picture was soooooo clear you felt like you were right in the scenes. A true movie experience that James Cameron worked so hard to provide. As people left, there was a hum of excitement, an energy that you could feel. Back to Cinepex…. I had sooooo wanted my husband to see this impressive and show stopping movie. He fell asleep. People got up and quietly filed out at the end. When we left and were driving home, when normally we would overview and talk about the movie, there was a flat ….nothing. I/we used to go to Cineplex all the time. I’m perplexed quite honestly about this experience. And it certainly causes me to pause to consider going back.
When I enter the business they force everyone into one long line to get both tickets and concessions without any thought to those with disabilities who cannot stand. With entirely discriminating management, as a disabled customer they refused to accommodate and when asking for a refund they refused. They tried to make out that because I was upset about their discrimination that I was not entitled to a refund. Do not go here they have bigoted management who thinks they can just make stuff up and keep peoples money. One thing that got me is they tried to say I was swearing when the guy, who complained about my disability, wished I would die from a heart attack. My response was after the complaining person gave me a death threat for having a disability and my response was hardly swearing by modern standards and a reasonable response when someone wishes death to you because of a disability. Update: The main company refunded me, and the police investigated the manager. The simple fact is a young inexperienced manager believed a customer issuing death threats over the disabled indigenous person. It happens all the time. Metis people have been murdered in Alberta recently and are still treated with extreme discrimination. Death threats although odd, happen all the time when we ask for accommodation. People are outraged by what seems to be a white looking but brown skinned person, it seems false to these people. Louis Riel quote "It is reasonable to assume we are white, it is not reasonable to insist we are white."
This theater has always been one of my favourites, but if you thought it's safe during Covid, buckle up cause you're in for a surprise. 1) Theater says they sanitize everything after each showtime, but we saw popcorn on the seats and handles, which made us question the integrity of the claim. 2) We saw people walk in without masks but no one enforced them. Perhaps it's not mandatory? The ones who had masks upon entrance would take it off inside the theater anyway, where it matters most. 3) For safety, you can only purchase designated seats: only half the rows are purchasable and only half the seats in each row with two empty seats intervals. But once inside, people start to move around, perhaps because others in their row aren't wearing masks and cough, so I don't blame them. We also saw a group of 7 friends sit right next to each other in one row without masks, which was interesting. 4) At this point, pretty much all the safety features put in place are gone. Employee comes in with a big sheet, looks around, checks everything off and leaves when clearly, she/he can see some of the seats which were meant to be empty are taken and people don't have their masks on. I don't blame the employee really, they're being paid min wage and perhaps don't want to get involved in arguments. I really wanted this to be a positive and safe experience, but sadly it wasn't. I hope you find this review useful. Stay Safe!
If I can give this location 0 stars I would. This is our first and last visit to this Cineplex location. We've always visited the South Common location but unfortunately there were no seats available for tonight. First washrooms were disgusting. 3 stalls have no toilet paper, I had to ask my daughter to check each stall. Went in to watch our movie only to get vertigo. At first we were all confused if we are watching 3D as the screen seems to be 3D. Everybody had to scramble down to grab their 3D glasses only to find out it is not 3D but the screen itself was flickering. It went on for 10 minutes when a few of us decided to find a staff/manager and show them what's going on. Spoke to 2 staff and was told they are aware and are working on it. We told the staff to call a Manager and we had to tell the Manager to stop the movie as it was giving us a headache. We were expecting a fun family night and it ended up as a huge disappointment. We wasted money on popcorn and drink and wasted gas. The lack of customer service is appalling. The Manager at the Box Office needs retraining. He just kept on reasoning out and even challenged us to write a review. By the way this is not the first time it happened, there were people who were in our time slot (9pm) that had to go back from their 6pm show because it got cancelled due to the same issues. Ruined our night and wasted our time!
This review pertains to the VIP portion of the theatre. Overall, we enjoyed our evening. The seats and cinema were spacious, but it should be noted the Windermere VIP seats do not recline. They do tilt a little, however. The VIP theatre opens about 30 minutes before showtime. Best to go at the beginning of this window so you can try to enjoy your food/drink before the lights are off. They have a VIP lounge and “cleaner” restrooms available. If you want another beverage during the movie you can go to the bar yourself. Staff were readily available to take your order and they were very responsive to any questions we had. Our food (i.e. fish and chips, chicken tenders) and drinks were satisfactory, considering “movie theatre pricing” and the novelty of having food delivered to your seat. Personally, I can’t say I enjoyed “dining VIP” in a movie theatre. By the time we received our order (it was busy), the movie started and I felt like I was eating in the dark on a plane (your narrow “table” swivels out from the armrest). 4/5 stars for the convenience and friendly staff. 3/5 stars for the food/drink.
I'll start with the good, the seats are comfy, the service is great, and it's neat being able to eat real food during a movie. You get there and can hang out in the lounge before your movie, where you can order food and drinks and wait in comfort. When your theatre is ready you can go in, find your seat and choose from the menu. A server takes your order and you have to pay right away. They then bring your order before your movie starts and you get to eat in the dark while watching. The bad. VIP tickets are twice the cost of regular tickets, the seats are about the same as a normal theater, but with little tables. Drinks are average bar costs ($8 to $10 for cocktails, wine, beer) and are a decent size/quality, the food prices are average ($15 for burgers range) but really mediocre. Our fries were stale and like styrofoam in the middle, and the sweat potato fries were raw and crunchy inside. My wrap has a weird flavour, but it was so dark I couldn't figure out what it was. It cost us $130 for 2 tickets, 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 entree's. While a neat experience, we won't do it again.
Absolutely the worst experience ever. Had purchased the VIP tickets for the first time ever and was super excited to watch the Oppenheimer show at 6pm only to be not allowed in since my Girlfriend did not have on her a physical copy of identification (digital copy was available and shown). If only this was mentioned somewhere on the ticket somewhere or even while purchasing the tickets. On top of that I had to deal with the snobbish behavior of the staff asking me multiple times this must be first time coming to VIP section. I saw tons of people being just let in without being asked for a ID proof. Not sure why we 2 were singled out. I totally understand the need for an ID but what I do not understand is why is it not mentioned specifically on the ticket especially when other movie tickets entry don't ask that or does not require it. Never ever coming back. Would rather just watch it on my TV without being profiled and singled out.
John Wick CH.4 in the VIP theater. Chairs aren't really that comfy. Can't put your feet up in these ones. Kinda defeats the purpose of paying VIP money with semi big seats that can tilt back just a bit. I'm sure the other VIP in the North on 137th has big comfy seats that you can recline and put your feet up. I've been going to Landmark Cinemas lately because it's much cheaper. They have Premiere seating that puts this Windermere VIP to shame...like welfare shame. Classic burger...was disgusting!!!! Bun was cold and the meat patty was horrible! Thin and probably microwave defrosted and then cooked! Absolutely ZERO flavor in that burger! Should have never been served! Staff...very friendly and professional. All in all...this experience showed me why I started going to Landmark Cinemas. Everyone should give them a try. Cineplex has a monopoly that needs to be brought down. John Wick Chapter 4 was amazing. Only highlight of the night.
Checked out a movie in the VIP cinemas. The staff were great, so no complaints there. The quality of the seating and the presentation was also good. The only strange part of the experience was how bright the houselights are during previews and credits. I think that this might be so that staff can see what they are doing since they serve you at your seat before the show, but after the movie, with many films now having interesting credits or post credit scenes, it seems to me that it would be better to leave the houselights down a bit more after the movie during the credits so that they can be enjoyed better. Otherwise, it was good! Tip: If you are in the VIP cinemas, the combos for popcorn/pop/candy you might be used to are not available from the wait staff. You have to go out to the lobby to order those combos.
Arrived less then 10 minutes before Avengers show was to start in VIP. Got seated, and within a minute had a server approach us. We quickly ordered, all the while keeping idle conversation with a very friendly and attentive server. Food took a little longer then expected, thought maybe they had forgot about us... worth the wait, everything was delicious. The only issue with food was simple, we were served the wrong type of chocolate almonds... asked for dark chocolate, given milk... noticed after a few were eaten... not worth leaving the movie to correct. The movie played without a hitch and even though most stayed to the end to see if there was anything at the end of the credits... the staff were pleasant as people left the theater. We don't do VIP often, but have never been disappointed when we do.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Cineplex Odeon Windermere Cinemas and VIP for a movie night out. This theater is a great place to go for a movie, and it has a lot of amenities that make it stand out from the rest. The lobby and concession stand are spacious and modern, and the seating in the auditoriums is comfortable. The sound quality is top-notch, and the picture quality is great as well. The VIP experience is also quite nice, with plush seating, food and beverage service and a private lounge. The staff here is friendly and helpful, and they make sure to keep the theater clean and well-maintained. Overall, I had a great experience at the Cineplex Odeon Windermere Cinemas and VIP, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great movie night out.
Great movie theater as it is close for me. Staff are friendly. Auditorium is clean so I'm very pleased. Though I wish Cineplex showed an ad saying "do not use cell phones" during the movie as the couple in front of me was using their phones constantly. It was distracting. Too bad there is no Coke freestyle refill. Maybe 1 refill only would be great. Also there is VIP section where they serve alcohol. I recommend going to VIP theater for blockbuster and action movies. Burgers can be hit and miss. ------- Update: May 28, 2023 VIP is still great. Host, server and runner are friendly. Food is good. Wish fries was a bit more crispy. Burger is good. ------------- Update: August 5, 2023 Still good theater. Just trying to figure out good combination for Coke freestyle machine.
First disappointment was the seats, they were small, hard and uncomfortable. They didn't recline, there was no foot rest. There was no shoulder room between my husband and I. The middle arm rest went up to make more room, but didn't go back all the way, so it sat between our shoulders. Second was the foot room. People still have to squeeze by you if they get up to leave. Third was the screen, it was not as big as other theatres I've been to. And lastly, the servers kept messing up people's orders, all around us, people had to correct them and they had to come back once or twice. It was so disappointing and we will not be back. We will choose Landmark every time over Cineplex. The prices and values for what you get are not worth it at Cineplex.
I had a ticket for 2 people bought at Costco. Being a single mom trying to save money . Thought I would take my kids out for a family day movie. Only 1 working kiosk. It would not scan my ticket or my scene card . It is so finicky and laggy, it took four tries to enter a number and it still would not work manually. There is no box office open. No one to help at the kiosk or anywhere. Only 2 tills open . When I said something to the cashier, all she said was, yeah, they’re very finicky. So had to pay full price and not be able to use my discounted ticket. There is no expiry date on these tickets. There’s no reason why it should not have worked. I will not be returning to this Cineplex ever again. Besides that the movie was good.
the VIP experience was great. although it doesn’t have reclining seats for everyone. WORST EXPERIENCE was with the server outside the VIP lounge. ABRAHAM, he was very rude answering and approaching guests telling us that the food service is closed, thinking he has the right to toss and drop our orders on the counter. he tossed my food on the counter IN FRONT OF ME and without apologizing. we just got there and weren’t giving him any negative gestures or approach and we received a VERY VERY VERY rude service. the server didn’t even bother to look at us when he tossed our foods. NO GREETINGS, NO APOLOGY, NOT A SINGLE SIGN OF RESPECT! again, we were just waiting and wasn’t being rude to anyone especially not to him.
The meal was great, the service was excellent, and the seats quite comfy and perfect for couples like me and my BF. We had seats in the frontmost row of the main seating area - we figured the three couple's comfy couch seats at the very front were way too near the screen. The sound and screen were also top-notch. Next time we're there, though, I think we'll eat the meal out in the restaurant area. You don't need to see popcorn or candy while eating it in the theatre. But eating a burger in the dark is not as fun. Also, there's no middle tray and no way for the side tables to join in front of the seats, which left us holding the nachos and dessert in order to eat it together. It was alright, but less than ideal.
Partner and i went for the late showing of John Wick VIP expecting it to be similar to other VIP cineplex experiences but it wasnt. The chairs were quite old, small and a little squeaky that didnt recline or have heating or cooling. It would have been better to just buy regular tickets because they dont offer ordering food after the movie begins either. I had a hard time even hearing the dialogues but i have never had that issue in a surround sound theatre. Idk if it was just the theatre room we had (#3) or all VIP at this location. Essentially, its better to buy regular tickets and get your food/ drinks yourself beforehand here rather than paying $70 or more for VIP here
Very frustrating experience!!! Planned to take my child to a movie, tried buying tickets online first. Website made me go through Fort Knox to setup an account, then would not let me purchase tickets. Tried on 2 separate computers and my phone, same error messages. Went to the theatre in person, sure enough tickets were sold out (this was not indicated on the website - even though other sold out movies did have indications). When I asked if they could help me buy tickets at another Cineplex Odeon theatre I was brushed off and scoffed at by the concession worker who told me to use.....you guessed it, the website!! No wonder this is a dying industry!!!
We went to purchase tickets ahead of time for the new Mario movie on Wednesday April 5, 2023. We intended to get tickets for the Friday show but after a long day we were exhausted and accidentally purchased tickets for the Thursday showtime. I went in the next day, to see if anything could be done. I looked ahead of time and noticed the theatre did not open until 430PM. Since I live out of town I did not want to wait an hour. I rang the doorbell out front and one of the managers (Hayley) was super kind and understanding! I explained the situation and she was extremely helpful. Wonderful service and very kind staff!
Went to the new Minions movie. Really good movie! Purchased 4 seats online. One was broken. So it split up our family sitting together. Group behind us were on their phones. The theater was dirty. Popcorn on the stairs going up. The booster seats for the kids were sticky from pop spilt. When the movie started it was so loud it was almost unbearable. After the movie we went to play some games. Quite a few of the games were broken. Kept eating coins. Not a great experience. Really sucks because it cost us a small fortune to go. With prices being so high. We will not be back for another experience!
Great movie theater, though prices are really high these days. 2 vip tickets alone is over $50. Me and my friend always come here to watch movies over the last few years but man the cost is ridiculous. He likes to grab a pop corn, drink and candy combo while i just get a vitamin water and a candy. Those snacks are like 40 bucks or something... The facility is clean the kids who work there do a great job and the lady who made my friends pop corn did a great job layering the butter. We last saw the 4th Thor movie here but I feel like unless a movies really awesome we just won't go.
I really can't go back to a regular theatre after VIP. Seriously once you go to VIP you will not be able to go to sit in a regular theatre again. The bar is nice with delicious drinks. The theatre is nice and the seats are wide and comfortable with little tables. The bathrooms are really nice. I left one star off because I think the food is too pricey for what you get. The food is not bad but for the price you pay you may as well eat dinner somewhere else first then watch the movie. But having snacks and booze served to you in front of a big screen is fantastic!
Vip last night for my Birthday. Great food and movie. Our waiter was great . Tipped him and he said I would get Birthday Brownie delivered to my seat as our movie was about to start. Lights went out no brownie. Afterwards talked to bartender and he laughed and He said sorry kitchen is closed and if we came back in the next few days they would try to remember. I can do VIP twice a year maybe. My bill was over 150.00. What kinda staff offers something to a customer and doesnt deliver. Yes its only a Brownie. But its VIP. I didnt feel like it last night.
I had a VIP price for a not so VIP experience... I really thought all VIP lounges are standard.. apparently not. Came here to watch The Ethernals at their VIP set up but to my big disappointment, this VIP theater set up is just slightly better than the normal ones. It doesn't have the fully reclined soft leather heated seat, wide seating and proper side table. Instead, you get stiff, small seating... The worse is.. you pay for the FULL VIP price!!! So... if you want the VIP experience.. DO NOT COME HERE, go to the other one.....
A very clean and modern cinema facility. Watching movies here is very easy. There are free parking although you may have to park further away during peak periods. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Pop corn served is hot and fresh. Seats are very comfortable compared to other cinemas around town. There is also an arcade game area located within the cinema. The VIP section is great. Cinema is located close to other business and top brand stores inside the currents shopping mall. Bathroom Is available on site for use.
The VIP side may have been the point of luxury & wow factor a few years ago .... but it is just not it anymore. The seats are cracked leather, and they don't recline. The food was yummy, but it cost us $150 for a meal & snacks ... plus we couldn't order anything from the 'regular cineplex side' like any of the sodas in the fountain machines or a hot dog etc. The server was friendly, and we got our food quick, BUT we requested our popcorn be held until after our dinner/right before the movie, and instead it came out first.
Overall this was a great theatre experience, fresh popcorn, clean cinemas, hot food. The only real downside is how horrible the VIP theatre seats are. Sure they may look classy with the brown leather but boy I have never sat in such uncomfortable seats before. Also the VIP cinema seats only recline the feet forward and do not lower your backrest. Makes for an awkward and uncomfortable viewing experience. The trays are a nice touch but it would be nice if they would be larger for more food space.
Yes, the theater is nice, but it should be. It's new. At $20 for one person, that is premium pricing. Charging $10 for a popcorn that is also premium pricing. To then ask if I want to have butter for an additional charge is ridiculous. To follow that by, telling me that if I want it halfway and then on top is also an extra charge, is pathetic. What you ended up doing is turning me off going to the movies ever again. Better rethink your business strategy or you'll be ruining your own business.
The overall experience of the theatre is okay but their food wasn't. I watched Spiderman: no way home yesterday, I was enjoying the movie with my popcorn until the taste of the popcorn was weird I quickly turned on my flashlight and saw a slivers of hair stuck on one piece at the bottom of the bag, it was disgusting. I noticed that the people that are working in the concession stand doesn't wear any hairnets, which is very unsanitary since they are handling food that they serve to customers.
Our go to VIP theatre location. However, the food choices & quality is 2⭐ out of 5. How can you screw up on chicken fingers? Why would you put a sticky sauce on them so you would have to use plastic knife & fork (if it don't snap) in a dark theatre?? And why only honey garlic & sweet chili thai sauce?? Is it because the chicken is old so they have to over fry them & hide behind sauce coat?? The menu needs a serious revamp that would reflect a movie dining experience & it's prices!
Watched the Superbowl in the VIP theater. $5 for the ticket, $6.50 for domestic pints which is usually the norm now. We didn't order any food but it was great that during the 3+ hours we were there, it was in seat service the entire time. The only complaint we had was the volume could've been louder.. especially during the halftime show where it was turned down even more. Overall, amazing experience and will be back next football season!
If you do the VIP experience, it makes it more worth it. You get to choose your seats, and sitting with someone you like you can lift the armrest between you to get a good snuggle. You also have tables similar to those of university desks. They turn so you have ample room for snacks and popcorn, also the cup holder is still there. Lots of leg room taboot. You also get servers bringing you alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages and food
As it is one of the newer theaters in Edmonton I find Windermere Cineplex to be quite pretty and cozy. The VIP section is a must do for date nights and even the casual theaters are always well kept and comfy. My favorite part about it is definitely the fact that this is one of the city's quieter theaters meaning better seats, less wait times and overall less people. Makes it stand out from the larger South Common and WEM locations
Huge fancy place, tons of people and noise! The theatre was nice and clean, the show wonderful. We went VIP for our movie, and as nice as it is to get food delivered to your seat.... the seats aren't as comfortable as they're advertised to be. I would not spend the extra money to do it again, plus the VIP lounge was crazy loud and tough to navigate due to drunk party goers. Not exactly my cup of tea, but worth experiencing once.
This theatre charges you $26/person for VIP experience that has no reclining or heated seats (but North Edmonton Common has them). The VIP has higher prices for the snacks and you are forced to use the service of the wait staff . If you want a better experience, I strongly recommend Landmark Tamarak, Landmark St. Albert, or go to the North side Cineplex VIP to at least get your moneys worth and have an enjoyable movie time.
Did the VIP here, was pretty good. The food is surprisingly good - not a whole lot more expensive than eating the junk food at the concession, and is delivered right to your seat. No reclining seats however. The north side has them and bigger trays for the food there too - would choose that location over this one. The upgraded price on the movie ticket plus food definitely makes it a bit pricey, but nice for a date night.
The Dbox seats need to be updated, they are not the really nice leather cushion style advertised online or in preshows. I’m not sure if they are older models but I can’t say I would spend the extra money on them again. The arcade is broken and 50% of the games eat your coins, definitely avoid the arcade. I gave two stars because all of the employees I have interacted with have been wonderful and incredibly friendly!
Terrible Experience. My showtime was at 10:00 pm, and I was running late, reached there at 10:15 and found cinema has closed their doors at 10:15. After waiting for 5 mins, as I was about to leave one of the staff person saw me and let me in. When asked about this whole scenario, he had no answer. Cineplex should keep in mind in some cases people may be running late, 15 minute buffer time is not enough!
Theatre was great no issues. Popcorn and pop were expensive and not good. Popcorn was cold and stale pop was over diluted even with no ice. I brought the popcorn back uneaten and told the cashier it was terrible and she apologized but offered no resolution of any kind. For the price I paid which was 27.00 for one large popcorn two large pops and a candy treat I felt ripped off to say the least!
I've been here many times, mostly to the VIP theaters. Always have had a good time, whether the movie was bad or good. In seat services is awesome. No standing in line is definitely where it's at. You can order anything from beer, cocktails, and highball drinks. There is also a menu of kitchen appetizers and classic movie fairs, like popcorn, pop, and candies. Adults only in VIP is genius.
Went to watch a movie there on Saturday, Jan 14 2023. Poor screen quality and very poor audio. You could barely hear the dialogues. Even raised the concern to the staff, all they could tell me was they will try to find the manager but it never helped. Wasted my time and money. If I had the option of rating them even worse, wouldn’t have hesitated for a second. Never going back there.
Did the VIP experience. Nothing like sitting in your reserved seat at a theatre with a menu and bar selection and have a server bring your order to you. The VIP theatre doesn't have all the elaborate sound and visual mediums as going in the adjacent theatres but that's ok. Ultimately it depends on the type of movie you are going to see and if you have a date, great place to go.
The VIP seats were not as I expected. They were basically plush rocking chairs, not the bigger seats that go back with something to put your feet on. I would have rathered pay half the price for the normal theatre seats. The food had a nice presentation but was very bland. The buffalo cauliflower bites had no taste and the truffle fries were undercooked also with no taste.
Went to Ghost Busters at VIP. Covid protocol at entrance was professional and efficient. Got to our seats in time to order the crispy chicken tacos, which are excellent, and bottle of red wine. Kicked back in the comfy seats and thoroughly enjoyed the evening! Great theater, great seats, great staff, and excellent food choices and quality! Highly recommend the VIP!
I'll go to this vip theatre again. Compared to the north location it's trash. The seats are small and squeaky and don't recline, the whole theatre looks dated and dirty. I left half way through the movie. If you want a good vip experience go to the north location. The reclining seats are heated and cooled, the service is amazing, everything is clean.
We purchased D box tickets in advance as the kids really wanted to try them. When we got to the theatre someone was there waiting to let us know that the seats were not working and gave us passes for another movie to use with any type of seat. They were very apologetic and gave us a free movie, what more could we ask for. We will definitely be back!
Great theatre with both general and VIP theatres. I like that there are lots of kiosks so that you can get your tickets quickly. There is still a cashier that can help you on your left. There are lots of The concession lines can get quite long so make sure that you arrive early. The parking is quite big so you do not need to worry about parking.
It's a great place for an adult date night. The food is decent (5 stars if the food was elevated just a bit) and priced well. Competitive drink prices and delivered to your seat. I love the "all-in-one" date night stop. Had a problem with a "barely adult" and the theater gave me tickets for another show. Excellent customer service and attention.
VIP theatre concept is great however the structure / service is lacking. App to order doesn’t work properly and no instruction is given on how to order etc. Servers don’t run food into theatre and due to the lack of the working app your are forced to leave the movie to order from the bar and then again to pickup your order. Need a better system.
The VIP is fun. The seats are comfortable, and you have a lot of space. However, I feel the same level of comfort in the other higher end theatres that aren't VIP. Also, it is definitely a pricey night. So see a movie you really love, have a nice dinner, and prepare for an empty wallet. It's an experience you want to have, but maybe only once.
Vip theater is nice. The pop machines at the concessions have been switched to choose your own flavor self serve. The staff is friendly and efficient. The bathrooms are kept clean. The small arcade isn't nearly as awesome as south common but it is still fun! This location rocks because it isnt very busy compared to the south common location.
VIP Theatre! Great service from the staff BUT the WORST SOUND experience EVER. Sound is incredibly low to the point where you can hear the people in the back row crunching popcorn. I thought it was a one off but gave them a second chance tonite and never again will I pay top dollar for a 20watt sound system at a movie theatre.
Usually the service here is great but tonight they struggled. The food order was almost an hour by the time we recieved it the movie had started. We had to find the waitor and ask what was taking so long. They did apologize and provide some coupons for next time. The movie was good and the rest of the facility was as expected.
We bought tickets to the VIP Theatre and it was well worth it. We had reserved seating and the seats were like home! Large, lots of room, side tables, all you could ask for. Service from servers right to our seats. No children in the theater as alcohol was available. Great experience to see Star Wars! Highly recommend it.
Love the VIP theaters. Only complaint is the seats arent that much more comfortable than the regular theatre. Although I love the little make shift table and extra cup holder. The theater is very clean and looks nice, not usually too busy. A lot smaller than south common but prefer this one more. Has an arcade as well.
Always an enjoyable date night experience! Have had lovely family experiences at this location as well! Theatres are usually clean and in good condition which is more than I can say for other locations I’ve visited! We Try to make it over here 1-2x a month for either a date night or family experience! Would recommend!
Went to a VIP movie and the seats are old, and hard. Honestly not much better than the regular theatre seats. Which is unfortunate as one of the main reasons I choose VIP is for the recliner seats. If I am going to go to a VIP theatre I would rather go to the one on the north side. Other wise everything else was good!
Movie was opening weekend so it was good. But the seats didn't recline as I was sitting in the Dbox seat section. Also during the movie the theater got very cold that I had to put my coat back on for the duration of the movie. It was a 3 hour movie and about 1 1/2 hours of it I had to wear my coat to stay warm
Vip experience is not worth it. The South common full recliner seats are way way better. The screen is better. As well, you might as well get your own stuff before going into vip, the combos aren't available via the menu they give you and you just pay extra for everything at no real added luxury of "vip".
My wife actually really enjoyed movie popcorn! I will eat all the movie popcorn but she ate a bunch because it wasn't super salty lol. Really need to upgrade to the recliner vip seats tho. It's not an old theater but its starting to feel dated for that reason. We need more VIP recliner seats in Edmonton!!
The standard theatre is fine, same as all other Cineplex theatres. This one has one of the VIP lounges. Wouldn't recommend as the there are better places to eat before a movie besides this lounge with bad service, weak menu. It's not terrible but I'd rather eat at a restaurant and go to a normal theatre.
I’m unsure how this theatre is deemed “VIP” when the seats are literally less comfortable than standard movie theatre seats. This “VIP” theatre has nothing on the Cineplex VIP theatre on 137th or landmark.. I’m super disappointed. I also felt like it was very dirty inside. What a waste of $25+ dollars.
Just a substitute ar experience. Staff were nice when we interacted. The sheer cost to attend the movie and have a snack was not relational to the experience provided. I would recommend landmark theatres as a much better alternative. Same movies but better seating, food, drinks and atmosphere.
VIP theatre was an awesome experience. 3D wasn't working for the movie we saw (didn't affect the picture quality) so they gave us a free pass for our next movie. Food was great as well. Seating is comfortable giving you tons of space and the addition of a mini table at your chair is nice.
Facility is clean and ample parking. I attended a show in their VIP section, and could not figure out if the seats reclined or not. I feel like they should. Any way, I sat bolt upright the whole show. Great for my posture, but I wasn't there for that purpose. Bullet Train was awesome BTW
The cinema itself is very nice and friendly staff. However, they should be mindful of the commercials they play before the movie starts. Pushing gender agendas to children is not appropriate. I want to be in charge of what my children are allowed to watch until he can decide by himself.
I watched Mission Impossible yesterday. For the first 1.5 hrs, there were crying babies, phones going on and off, crunching of the popcorn bags while people ate. The movie volume was also low at times that it was impossible to understand a word through all that ‘noise’.
The VIP seats don’t recline and the chairs are old looking. Waiter was rude when asked for an extra fork she said “I don’t have one”. Then brought one with attitude. The poutine is so bad it tasted like melted plastic. Would not recommend this location or the VIP area!
Had to face long queues before the movie time but the team lead last night got all hands on the deck and tackled people with lightning speed! AVX and 3D experience were amazing while watching avatar. Comfortable back reclining seats and overall very clean establishment
Don't pay the VIP HERE!! The seats are just regular seats, no inclination, no heat, and super hard. They charge me the same as North EdmontonVIP, and the other is a real VIP woth amazing service. Windermere VIP IS A SCAM!! DO NOT PAY THIS TICKETS HERE. Not worth it!!
This website does not seem to show ticket prices unless you sign up for an account! What the heck is going on? I tried to call the Windemere site and no option to speak with a human being to ask about ticket prices for VIP. Why do you guys have to male it so hard?!
Love going to the VIP on date nights with my husband. Always friendly quick service. Only thing is some of the food is worth it and some isn’t at all worth the price you pay. Just a try and learn experience on what to get. Other then that it’s a good time.
Spacious, luxurious and well dressed staff. If you're going VIP, show up half hour early to really enjoy the lounge. I got in there during pre-show so was rushing to order food and sit and eat. Either way, great place, well designed, very modern. 5 stars
It is very sweet and nostalgic. Instantly brings you back to your teen years. Nice spot. Lots of movies options, games, snacks and fun. There is also VIP section with food and movies if you need your evening be little more elevated. Highly recommending!
Just plain horrible! Fully booked for the Barbie, the seats are like a chicken coop, so close together! The monopoly is killing the experience for moviegoers! Landmark has 1000 times better seating and screen quality. Cineplex is mooching off customers
Quick and easy to get tickets at the concession. Also got the number one combo for Pop popcorn came with the candy. all the staff was awesome to deal with that. I lost my phone. They have to accommodate me overall great atmosphere well done people.
Kris is the GOAT. Our online tickets were located at a different theatre but Kris immediately stepped in and took control. He helped us out with an amazing attitude that made our day. Made our experience memorable, definitely deserves recognition.
VIP service is great. but the VIP theatres are a dump compared to AVX, IMAX, Landmark, or any renovated theatre. Are you kidding? a $28 ticket for seats that don’t recline without leg rests?! Waste of money. Will be going to landmark from now on.
Usually have a good experience, but word of advice. Do not see horror movies late night in this theatre because you’ll have a bunch of young kids and a very loud theatre. We ended up having to leave. It was horrible. People talking on their
I was a little disappointed with the experience here. Had VIP tickets, you have a VIP entrance, followed by a nice lounge and bar area with 3 small theaters. Our seats were in Theater 2, row F, center seats...... both seats were cracked and
The movie experience keeps getting more expensive, and the portion sizes and self serve elements of the concession area makes me wonder who's actually thinking about client experience, might as well sell drink cups and popcorn bags out of a
VIP is the ONLY way I will watch a movie now. The seating is far bigger, much more comfortable and you actually have leg room even if you are a tall person. Food and drink to your seat via very pleasant staff. They are quick and efficient.
Absolutely love the VIP Theatre experience. Here’s a tip, walk right past the crowded lines and go straight to the peaceful VIP lounge and then order your popcorn or whatever you like and let them bring it right to your seat for you …
The theater itself was good. Went to a VIP for the first time. On the other hand the washroom was terrible. Both toilets were peed in and on the seats along with toilet paper strewn all around. A disappointing experience to say the least.
I really enjoyed my first VIP Theater experience here. You get very comfortable seats with more leg room, a mini table, and 2 cup holders. There are servers that come to take food and drink orders before the movie starts and brings it to
I went to see Inception and Tenet post-covid in the VIP theatre. The staff was so kind, the food was delicious (and quickly made), and the theatre was super clean! The staff go above and beyond to make the experience wonderful. Although
The theater itself was nice. The men's room in the VIP side had toilet paper scattered around in both toilets which were sitting with urine in both and on the seats. Paying top price even on cheap Tuesday I would say it's unacceptable.
Haven't been here in a while but atmosphere is still the same! Nice variety menu in the VIP theater. Very friendly staff and quick service. Food was mediocre - fries and poutine came out cold. Otherwise had a very positive experience!
Went all out for the VP experience for date night. Best night out. Great food! Fish tacos were awesome! Then after the movie got to play a free game of pool. Great service too. Doesn't get much better than this! Worth every penny.
The ticket machines were not working. There was no staff at the ticket office. Then we had some issues with the other patrons in the queue . The staff didn't step up and tried to resolve the issue but stood there. They let those
We had a group event here they weren’t even ready for us, the pop machines weren’t on, empty and there was no buyer even melted for our popcorn. Totally lack of respect for any of the 3 groups that were here today! Nov 19, 2023
It is clean and the service is good but if you are planning to go to the VIP and you expect comfy seats don’t! Full recliner are way better and honestly unless you like just to be served in the middle of the movie not worth it.
The seats need to be upgraded in VIP badly. These have no footrests and the seats are much smaller and more u comfortable than at every other VIP theatre I’ve ever been to. Definitely not worth $50 for 2 tickets.
We watch a movie in the VIP, they have a good service and Clean facilities. The menu inside the VIP cinema is kinda expensive, the seat is hard and I think it’s better if they have a full recliner seat.
My family and I refuse to go anywhere else. The seats are so comfortable, you can get meals and combos that are perfect for a family night out. Lots of room if you need to get up or get to your seats.
Went to VIP Movie.. Most uncomfortable seats on this planet, just horrible. Only thing I could see as a positive was no minors but paying extra for no minors is excessive and I will not do it again!
Great service however a little overpriced when you can go to Landmark in St. Albert and get more comfortable seats that fully recline for the half the price. However it is still a great experience.
Went for a vip experience for the first time at 930 for avatar and literally was worse than regular theater. Couldn't order food 0 vip experience. Was quite bothered where we spent $$ for vip..
I was a bit surprised that there were no heated reclining seats in the Windermere VIP section (Room #3) . The north side location has better seating and I would most likely go there next time.
Friendly staff, spacious seating with drinks holders and generally comfortable. Seats were super squeaky though - which meant you couldn't recline much unless you wanted to disturb everyone.
