This is the movie theatre I use most often based solely on location and amount of screen times to choose from. I used to go here as a kid and it was always such a “magical” experience but the more I go as an adult, the more I realize it has definitely lost a lot of the “magic”. The place is always dirty.. whether it is the washrooms, or the floors, the seat armrests, food counters, you name it and it is probably sticky and has popcorn on or around it. I understand it is hard to keep up with the amount of people going in and out, but I still think more could be done. The staff are nice, but definitely seem understaffed. I was at a movie where 3 drunk people came in and started yelling half way through, and they sat down in the front of the theatre. A few minutes go by and a staff member appears to handle the problem, a single young women who was smaller than any one of the three intoxicated people, no back up no support for the staff member I really felt bad for her, thankfully nothing went wrong and the people left the theatre without much protest. Anything could have happened though and I really think this needs to be fixed how staff are expected to handle potentially dangerous situations alone. This is just my experience and I’m again I do frequent this movie theatre out of convenience, but if you have other options I would consider checking them out.

It's a theater, but not what it used to be. Now this used to be an attraction at the world's (sometimes) biggest indoor mall! But not anymore, the fire breathing dragon is gone, and there are still some remnants of the old theater hanging around. The spirit of this place seems crushed. The staff do their jobs and the place is clean enough, I have not seen the concession at the back beyond the ticket line open in over ten years. Which would be nice so you can pop out and grab another drink really quick. The seats all recline, and it seems like the air conditioning is either on low or turned off most of the time. But other than that its just a standard cineplex theater now. Grab a slice of pizza, some popcorn, a pop and watch some mindless escapism for 90 minutes. Unless you have something better to do.

This theatre used to be an amazing experience, but my last visit it was just not the theatre I remember from the 90s or early 2000s. The bathroom was disgusting, the smell, the toilet paper holder was hanging on by 1 screw in the stall. Inside the theatre, I'm not sure when the current seats were put in, but they don't feel as comfortable as the ones before. As someone who isn't from Edmonton, going to this theatre was something I always looked forward to. But it just doesn't seem as amazing, and I almost feel like the rest of West Ed was upgraded, but they forgot about the theatre. The sound, the picture, and the popcorn are great. But the experience is quite pricey.

Me and the bf do date night most Tuesdays here for the cheap night since we work weekends, always a good time. HOWEVER, tonight we went to a 4DX showing and the air being blown out for the FX smelled like months old rotten milk. There is clearly mould growing in those vents from drink spills and poor upkeep. I mentioned to the worker but who knows if it’ll be dealt with properly or not. I don’t usually write reviews but this is a health/safety concern. Hopefully they do something about it, but we’ll be hesitant to say the least to go to another 4DX show for a while.

First time watch movie here and not disappointed. They have arcade machine for play as well. Check in process is very fast and the auditorium is keep very clean without any odours. You can borrow the caption machine first time I know this trick. Good for movie doesn’t have sub titles. The 4DX is awesome the moving chair is no other can feel like this. Located on one side of mall can be easily accessed from parking lot or from the mall. Have dedicated elevator to its level.

My son is 5 and we hit up a matinee Paw Petrol movie time. It was my fist time in this theatre. I purchased tickets and selected my seats online. Accessing them was easy using my 4g network once we needed to go in. The whole experience was excellent. It wasn't busy in the afternoon on a Saturday. The popcorn was warm and the prices fair. Everything was stocked up nicely and the staff was friendly. What else could you want? Definitely will be going back to this theatre.

World class staff. All staff very caring for disable customers. Sunday August 27th 2023. I showed up one hour early for the imax movie. I walk with a cane and a brace. I am also hard of hearing in both ears. The staff were wonderful and made sure that I found my seat and helped me with my drinks and meals. The best staff who care deeply about the customers. Thank you so much staff You are the best.

This is an older theater but still an excellent place to watch a film. It features adjustable seats and the IMAX experience. This theater is located in the extreme west end of West Edmonton Mall, so there is a lot of parking and plenty of places to go after watching a film to have a drink and discuss the merits if the experience.

Downhill theatre. I booked tickets to an IMAX show 3 weeks ahead expecting a night to remember. Reason for low star rating was mostly for concession experience. They were out of hot dogs, tenders, escalator broken, long lines, popcorn was not filled to top on a holiday Monday no less. Should be prepared, do better.

Awesome theatre! I went to watch Avatar in 3D at the IMAX. It was great! Only suggestion is they need to upgrade their sink to operate on a sensor since they don't have any paper towel and you have to touch the tap after you wash your hands which is gross. Also, Dylan needed a bit more flair on his name tag.

The sears in the AVX theatre recline, even when you don't want them to. This us not very comfortable for everybody as some people, like me, may prefer to have an upright seating position. Overall, the cinemas are fine here but the seats cannot not be described as totally comfortable for everybody.

Love this movie theatre. Contemporary and legendary. Great location. Current tech. Prices aren’t what they used to be but hey people spend what they want on what they want. Love their epic entrance way and movie displays. Miss the fire breathing dragon. The bad old days. Lol.

Had a great visit! Staff were friendly and efficient, it was a Saturday night movie so it was steady. We're served quickly and found our seats. Theater was clean looking as were the bathrooms. Movies played without any issues and we had a nice night!

First time at this theatre I saw Oppenheimer on Imax screen. Chairs are very small and uncomfortable ( think 1980's theatre) but screen and sound were great. Concession moved somewhat fast but of course had to leave my left arm for a popcorn and pop.

Watched Barbie on National Cinema Day for just 4 bucks. It’s within the mall. You might take a minute to navigate. There are self-serving machines and they got a Large car parking lot. Standard cinema stuff tbh

Super comfortable seating! First time going there to see Oppenheimer. Very clean. Went to the early show to avoid the overcrowding. Wonderful experience... would definitely recommend!!

Great theater in the biggest mall in North America. I went to 4DX movie experience. It was amazing. The chair movement was smooth, the special effects included wind, and fake snow.

Good place to spent sometime watching on the big screen specially when you watch movies thats on 3 weeks run already. You got all the seats …

Been awhile since I’ve been here, service is still as smooth and quick as always. Loved Spiderverse so much; I had to go twice.
