WORST experience ever! My child has a medical condition, therefore we bring his own water with us everywhere. There were two managers working this day; MAX GUZMAN & DERICK DICKSON! Both managers were very unprofessional & rude & would not allow my child to take his water into the movies! They accused us of possibly trying to sneak in liquor! We opened the water bottle, told them to smell it, taste it, examine it etc bc it’s just his water and they still decided to discriminate against children with medical conditions! & to make the situation worse, DERICK DICKSON was BEYOND rude & unprofessional not only to me but also to his own employees! When I asked for a card for the GM’s number, DERICK said he was helping another customer & turned away from me so another employee tried to help me and DERICK completely stopped helping the customer & rushed over to try & yank the card out of her hands but she had already passed it to me, he continued to try and take it out of my hand, but I backed up. He went on to tell the employee NOT TO HELP ME! So I asked another employee if they could call another manager & she looked at DERICK very scared & apologized to me and said she couldn’t help me bc DERICK would not allow her to. The behavior DERICK DICKSON showed to me, my family, employees & other customers who had to witness this was completely disgusting, disgraceful, embarrassing & pathetic! Families have to go through enough when their child is different, but then to have to deal with this discriminating behavior!!!! DISGUSTING! The solution, I finally got ahold of BRAD SMITH, who said he was the owner of the movies, he said “these managers should have known better, this was a coachable moment for them & he allowed me to bring in my water!” These managers SHOULD Have known better! It’s pathetic, beyond pathetic that they are the face of this movie theater & could definitely careless about customers! I am still beyond hurt and disgusted by this behavior! I will not be returning!

My family and I have been coming to this theater since they opened over 10 years ago. We've spent a lot of money here on movies and concessions. Unfortunately, the movie experience has degraded to the point we will be taking our business elsewhere. In the past year we have had several really bad experiences here with other movie goers being incredibly rude and inconsiderate to others who are trying to enjoy the film. I've had to ask people to please stop talking and let us enjoy the film (and by people I mean adults who are 40+ years of age....it's not kids behaving badly). I've had profanities yelled at me and one man actually tried to pick a fight with me when I've asked to him to please stop talking. I've had to leave the movie so I could ask personnel to please come take care of the situation. In Oppenheimer this past weekend there was a couple who sat 3 rows behind us that yelled at each other the entire movie.....even during the silent part. When the theater employee was asked to please escort these people out, he stood behind the entrance wall and did nothing. The movie was a nightmare to attend because of these people and we couldn't catch most of it. Alamo Drafthouse has a no tolerance policy for people who are talking loudly during movies.....they are escorted out. We will be going to Alamo Drafthouse just for this reason. It's hard for me to understand how anyone thinks it's ok to yell, talk loudly, answer phones, scream profanities, pick fights, scroll on the phone or be over the top disruptive during a movie....but it's the norm here. It's equally hard for me to understand why a movie theater will tolerate this rude behavior that ruins movies for good paying customers. I also had my car broken into and window shattered in the parking lot of this theater and when I asked an employee if we could see parking lot surveillance they said no. I asked to be contacted by management and was not. Alamo Drafthouse has my business until these things change.

Worst customer service. We had tickets for an 8pm show, arrived on time they said the power was out should be about 10 mins, we waiting in a lobby with no AC. Around 815 we asked if we could just get two passes (they were giving passes out to people coming out of theatres who had their show ended because of power outage) I didn't want to wait and stay for a later show because I have kids at home and didn't want to get home so late. They refused to offer us 2 passes, so we checked on the kiddos and stayed in line. Finally got to go in at 835pm, we spent around $50 on concessions, popcorn, pretzel and cheese, 2 beers and our tickets were $29.78 on Fandago. So we get to theatre and notice its super hot in there, its closer to 9pm and the show is not starting. Finally around 915 a manager walks in to tell us this theatre is the only one not turning on, we have to leave and the will give us one free pass each. After we waited since before 8pm to 915 in a hot building, spending money on drinks and food we could not enjoy with the movie. We had to sit in crowded lobby to finish our drinks and another family that was next to us told us they got reimbursed for their drinks to ask the manager. I have never felt such bad customer service in a place before, even though he had just reimbursed another family he refused to reimburse us. We are out time and money and definitely feel like this could have been handled a lot differently by management. We now have two free passes that we will most likely never use again because of the way this situation was handled by City Base

I usually will give this place a 5 star rating but this time they deserve less than 1 star, we went early 10am first showing. It was me and my wife, there was a couple with their 2 kids. and 1 lady with her 2 kids who wouldn't stop talking, she was constantly on her phone, bright as hell, while her kids talked loud and ran back and forth in their isle. Now is it my job to go and complain or should staff once in awhile drop in to make sure everything is ok. Not once did anyone come in, so I asked the lady if she could lower her voice, she told me her kids have A.D.H.D and she or her kids didn't have stay quiet since she paid like everyone else. Once the Movie was over we walked out and there were 3 employees standing by the door. And I told them, it would be nice if someone would check in once in awhile. I explained to them what happened and all 3 didn't say one word. Should of just gone straight to management but it was busy at the lobby and I was already frustrated. Please dont Respond back with, Sorry that you had a bad experience or please contact us. All I want is pay for admission and get the number 2 ( nachos, popcorn and a drink) with my hard earned money, Relax and enjoy a good movie in Peace.

Had a horrible experience. Out of maybe 20 patrons in the theater, 6 talked throughout the entire movie. About half way through the movie, I went and explained the situation to a staff member. The staff member hid at the door to the screen, where there is a wall separating the entry way and seats, claiming to try and listen to them talk. Basically he couldn’t possible have heard anything short of screaming from his location, even though they continued to talk very loud. He should have come closer, as I had described to him where the most egregious offenders were sitting. At least his presence would have deterred them, but from where he was standing no one could see him. Regardless of if he heard them, he should have taken action and told them they need to be quiet. Instead he left after a few minutes after taking no action. Very disappointed in the response by the staff, ruined the movie experience after paying a lot of money for tickets and concessions. There used to be staff posted in the theater to deter this sort of behavior, but they now lay this responsibility on the customer. Should also mention that this is NOT the first time this sort of scenario has happened.

My son & his friend goes to the movies for the second time ever 06/23/2023 @ 7:00pm & this time I'm not sure if there was racism involved or just a simple mistake (could never tell in this country) But my brown skin son didn't receive his popcorn & his light skinned friend (another race) did. We raised our son to be very polite & respectful of all creation. Especially of anything living & breathing. They had my son sit & wait for popcorn while the movie already started playing & ignored him when reaching out to the staff.John who is manager there is rude, condescending & unfortunately a liar. After reporting to him, he offered no resolution over simple popcorn. My son explained clearly he reached out for help & after not receiving with the movie starting he walked away. John needs to be replaced. I have now since explained to my son to ask for a manager in situations like these. John had a very ugly tone & not helpful. Just a big inconvenience for a 14 year old kid smh do better please.

Theater is small but chairs were very comfortable. It's basically clean but the bathrooms needed more attention. Staff was generally friendly and helpful (especially when we lost an item; they were prompt and helpful in finding it--thanks!). I do have to give feedback that one of the attendants at the concession stand needs a lesson in customer service. After I spent $38 in food, I asked for a cup of water, even in a Dixie cup--i didn't care, I just wanted some water--she gave me a cup and then wanted to charge for a full drink. I tried to correct her that it was just water and she responded snidely that "Well, yeah but SOME PEOPLE ask for'just water' but then get soda anyways" with the clear indication that I very well might be one of those "some people" (clear enough that my 11 year old picked up on it and asked as we left the stand, "Why was that girl so rude?"). Needless to say, I gave her the cup back and had to keep from telling her what she could do with it.

Great theater, I absolutely love the layout and the comfy chairs but holy heck is the staff ridiculously lacking the customer service attitude that this job requires. The manager “D” to avoid using his name is not much of a lead by example kind of guy either. I think corporate needs to get back to the drawing board and train this crew on what real customer service is and how to treat patrons. I don’t just go to this theater every now and then, this is my preferred choice. I just wish the staff was a little more considerate for their screw ups aka theater malfunction. Nothing was given to us as a comp for this malfunction either. nothing. Absolutely Nothing at all. Worst part is, this is not my first time experiencing the terrible customer service at this cinema. Won’t be spending my money on the overpriced concessions from now on. They’re lucky I love the theater so much or else I would never go back. I guess maybe i expect too much from minimal effort employees.

I love coming here to this movie theater. It's a small theater, so it just makes it feel nice and cozy for me. Plus it's affordable, and hardly ever very busy. Sometimes I go watch a movie during the day, in the middle of the week, and it might just be me, and maybe 5 other people in the one theater watching whatever movie it might be. This is a nice clean place, but it is not one of the larger more elegant theaters like many others in town. Also, the seats themselves are not the best, not adjustable and not very comfortable. They are certainly okay, but they have no power reclining features. But for me, that's okay. I can do without those nice luxuries.

I live 40 minutes away, and there are 2 other cinemas within 15 minutes of me, but this is my go to theater. The snack and drink selection is fantastic and the ticket prices are reasonable, unlike some other theaters now. This place would get 5 stars from me, but they need to REALLY work on the customer service at the bar area. Even when there is only one person sitting at the bar, they make eye contact with you multiple times before finally asking you what you want. No sense of urgency at all. So now I just get a drink at the snack stand where the service is much friendlier! Still love this place though.

I have been to this theater on numerous occasions in the past, this is this first time the movie I was going to watch was in a remodeled theater. They had large reclining leather seats, it was like being at home. They were awesome, nobody directly in front or behind you. Covid compliance 6 feet. Wow, they really outdid themselves with this. I will definitely return and hope my movie is in the reclining seat theater. Hmm, if it isn't, will I stay ? I have no idea, they set the bar with those seats. I don't think I can enjoy a regular theater seat again. I hope they make all of their theaters this way.

Horrible place. My husband and i had been going there for nearly 5 years with no problem now they have kids working there that dont know how to work. Upon entry there was no warm welcome like we always had, the employees were on their phones, told us to hold on so they can continue their conversation, and when asked to speak to a manager, he didnt help. He clearly had crushes on those girls cuz he didnt hear anything we said he went with their story. Went back the next day to talk to an actual manager and again nothing. Please waste your money somewhere else not here

Very disgusting ,they have a heavy obese male looks white employee with his shirt not big enough to cover his stomach and he was trying to clean up with a broom and scoop but doing a bad job, I saw him walk by the popcorn on the floor and couldn't offer assistance to anyone, kids were waiting for popcorn refills and he wouldn't help , was a robocop or racist because I asked where the theater was and all he wanted was my tickets for my family mind you we were in the back already with food in our hands, he wanted all my tickets before he could point me to the movie

They have improved their seating. It's very comfortable. Maybe too comfortable since they are recliners. They have the latest movies so it's a good theater to go to Go a little early to have time to get your snacks. My only complaint is customer service could use some improvement. Let your customers know they have to pay for some condiments since you don't put anything out anymore and you don't include them with anything that we buy. Let us know so we can let you know what we want for our hot dogs. Macos tacos etc.

The theater is ok. The attached arcade and comic store is a plus and really the only reason for the 2 stars. They searched my sisters purse which was strange and unusual for a theater to do. My sister felt violated with somebody searching through her private stuff. They said it was to check for outside food. Nothing for us to hide as we love theater popcorn and snacks. They should have mentioned this is standard procedure before purchasing the ticket or we would have taken our business elsewhere. Now we know.

The manager Sean chandler was very rude. We bought our tickets. When on line to buy popcorn and drinks. He came and said: I'm going to ask you 2 questions. If you answer wrong, you'll have to leave. Why is the reason you have a tea cup chihuahua?. My answer was: it's my ESA I have a card to proof he's registered. He replied : you'll have to leave your card doesn't mean anything. And walk away. I broke in tears my emotions destroyed by this person and we didn't receive our money back.

I saw,The Batman at 705 on Tuesday, 4/19. I have no doubt that their projection settings were maladjusted. The movie was so physically dark it was hard to tell the characters unless they spoke. At at least 6 different times the screen was black for over 10 seconds. I get it's a "dark" movie but not in a unwatchable way. I mentioned it to the worker and he said it was supposed to be that way. I dare a manager to sit through 20 minutes of this. Probably was a good movie. I dunno

This movie theater is pretty decent. It has a bar and usually very clean. But the last few times we’ve been here we could barely hear the movie! Very loud people who clearly movie hop and not to mention last night someone had to get police escorted out because they were screaming and cussing during the lion king movie. Smh. I like this theater but I wish more workers at least checked in during showtime hours and checked tickets upon entry at the movie door.

My husband and I decided to catch a 7:30pm show. The theater itself was freezing cold. The seats were comfy. There’s only about a foot and a half of space between you and the seat in front of you. It was way audio of the movie and previews were louder then it needed to be. Half way though the movie, staff came asking to see our tickets. There were only 8 people watching the movie. So, we missed some parts of the movie while looking for our tickets. :/

Manager is a kind and friendly person. Very helpful when my granddaughter and I were unable to retrieve our movie tickets after purchasing online. After numerous times of trying and the individual who was trying the first time then he just suddenly stop he then called manager over. The manager went beyond to help us. I appreciate his kindness and patience.. this was my first time here. I'm new to the area. He made us feel welcome.

XX’s beer with lime salt dressing is great! Restrooms are strategically placed to make visit during movie very fast (music in there is great too). Entire place is clean and has a security guard. The movie seats are leather but too small and not reclining, disappointing. Video and audio are superb. Pre-show is great too because there are a lot of ads to encourage kids to goto college or vocational schools. Lots of parking.

The movie was great but the actual cinema had a bit to be desired. Good selection of snacks even some i wasn't expecting...but the rest felt off and really poor in quality and care. You could feel the movie from the theater over and thays not really ideal when it comes on a very emotional moment suddenly an earthquake from next door shakes your seat. Good but could have been better.

Went Saturday night for my childs birthday for Spiderman and the theatre we were in was extremely hot. I complained to the staff a few times because my family and I were literally sweating for 2 1/2 hours. I tried to get a hold of a manager for my money back and he never came. I still have not been able to talk to a manager for a refund after emails and calls. Fix your AC's!

One of my favorite places to go to the cinema! The concessions are always good priced how they should be. That's how they make their money so I understand. For the past year the staff has been really good. Clean restrooms when I'm there and also the staff has always been nice to me and my father when I take him. Will continue to go to city base cinema for my movies.

I bought a big bag of popcorn that was made of paper. You can't put butter with those bags. I asked for two smaller bags that have a coating for such a problem, but was given HELL for it. Don't sell big bags of popcorn if you're not caring for leakage and or people's clothing. The reclining chairs in theater 2 was awesome. Customer service; SUCKS!!!

Place sucks. They used to have good service until they hired kids that dont have any type of respect and dont know anything about good customer service. These kids are on their phones everytime we go in and barely acknowledge us upon entry anymore. With how much money we would spend here we expected them to at least have good employees.

My first time visiting this cinema. My uncle Jesus brought me out, and I couldn't have been happier. Very clean theater, very polite staff, and excellent choices of food I haven't seen at any other cinema. The chicken on the stick was delicious along with the popcorn. And nice new comfy recliners in the theater. I will be back for sure

Love this theater. Its close enough for where we live and enjoyable. The theater is well up kept and clean. We normally go during the day so cant say as to how busy it gets at night but fast service during the day. Great picture and sound as well. Don't mind the prices as they are about the same for amy movie theater in the area.

Price was higher than at any Santikos I've been to in the city. Waited 15 minutes for two plain hotdogs, which caused us to miss the beginning of the movie. Theatre was hot. Couldn't tell if the AC was on at all. Disapointing experince. Don't waste your money here. Plenty of theatres in SA that offer actual service and comfort.

I used to love coming here, recently it seems quality has dropped at this theater. I know they're independent but still, the seats are way too uncomfortable to sit through 2+ hour movies, I feel like I'm sliding out of them every time I go. Other than that, they still have a great deal when you want to have a private screening.

The manager has no customer service skills what so ever and is rude! When I tried talking to him calmly he threatened to throw me out. It must be really bad trying to hire people if this guy is a manager! Attitude is a reflection of leadership. This place is going down quick. Hope the GM reads this and finds someone else ASAP!

My Grandkids and I went to see Dr. Strange in 3D on Saturday, the theater was so hot, I don't know if the Air Condition was broke or they don't have any, but it would e been nice if we would have been told or if the would have given us a refund. We didn't even enjoy the movie, because it was so hot. Not going back anytime soon

There big theater is very exciting when you are watching that must see movie the reclining seats and table are amazing and spacious. But all the other movie rooms are just regular and no reclining seats or tables but everyone is friendly and the entire theater is very clean I always enjoy myself no matter what room I’m in

Never been to this theater before we got there it was organized that giant line was moving got our tickets quick and easy got her popcorn pop and snacks got to the theater found that they had the most awesome theater chairs that I've ever sat in very comfortable very happy good sound absolutely loved it

Our usual place for movies. I love their seats and that are reserved so we can choose where to sit. The only minor problem was when my husband asked for extra ice in his soda, the guy told him that the fountain is over at the end of food counter. ??? He had to go back to the counter to ask for more ice.

The Best Place to watch a movie on the Southside! The Staff is super nice and strive to make sure you have the best movie going experience! I will forever drive out of my way to this great theater! Brad and Rosie have always made it a fantastic place to enjoy my day off watching the movies!

This movie theater is small. The seats aren’t all that special so no recycling. Lines get long for snacks because it’s a small theater. They have a small arcade area and bar area as well. Glad we were able to get seats for the movie we were watching but definitely prefer AMC.

Got tickets online and was able to pick the seats,, it was super easy. Same with checking in at the theater, super easy. No line at the concession stand. Very comfortable seats. Extremely clean theater too. This will be my go to theater from now on. Thank you City Base Cinema

My husband a sister n law and i went to 940 movie sun night. Came out. To pouring rain and cold and battery wouldnt start up in car. Your. Employee Damion Chandler went out and jumped our vehicle with his vehicle. In the rain and cold. 130 a.m. Couldnt Thank him enough !

Drinks suck. Do no buy drinks, especially mix drinks. Yhey are watered down, waste of money. Movie experience was great but if u expect a drink (adult drink), Armadillo's next door has some real (adult drinks). Just saying. Save ur money on watered down drinks. PEACE

The movie theater is great. We have gone twice since it open with COVID-19 protocols. Last night is the first time I had seen in packed again. The staff was friendly and inviting. I will definitely be returning. Plus they give military and teacher discounts!

Watched a movie at this location for the first time.. screen was dark couldn’t even enjoy the movie, brought it up to one of the employees, they said they’d get someone to check out, hopefully the next group of people don’t get stuck watching a dark screen

This movie theater has been great since the upgrades! Snack line moves very fast. The seats in the Theater are a huge upgrade. To me the bar in this theater is the best in town. Good prices and strong drinks. This is my go to theater as of recently!

Love this community cinema. Always clean and family friendly. The management team work so well together. I have never had one bad experience here. Their concession stand offers so much. That bar is fully loaded and offers some bar food options, yum!

Sound was good place was clean, service lacked dedication, just there cause they had to be no conversation or explanation. The two girls who were waiting to clean the theater talked more and had info. Tried three times to get snacks line was crazy.

It was very nice. It was clean,staff friendly and the reclining seats are great. My only issue is having to put my own butter on popcorn. It is not a big issue but it is hard to layer butter. The butter is mostly at the top,none at bottom.

I tried to use the restroom while watching the movie and was harassed for not having a ticket on me. I had left it in the theater with my purse and the worker called me a free loader and I returned to my seat with a full bladder.

Saw a movie and had some popcorn. Enjoyed the movie and the seating. All though we did see a large bug cut in line in front of us. I recommend maybe bringing your own drinks or buy bottled. But wipe it down before drinking it.

I want to go see a movie here to my surprise there was a bar well I had just had to give me some Texas tease you're limited to two but it's lying you're not falling down stumbling all over the place they'll give you one more

Very clean theater. Seat are comfortable. Room temperature felt good. People are friendly. Would of gotten 5 stars if they can fix whatever crawling around under the seat crawling on me little bit and others left cuz of it.

Won't touch my phone for the confirmation code, regarding my online tickets, but will hand off said tickets without concern of how I may be on the situation. The concession was met by very friendly faces, and quick service.

Good place. They upgraded the chairs, so it is more comfortable now. Wish they still connected to the arcade next door, but they have a mini arcade now by the entrance. I'm not as compelled to use it though.

It used to be better. I went to watch a movie a few days ago, and the theater seemed sticky, and like no one who works there smiles or greets you. The food and drinks are cheaper than most places though.

This is a nice theater, but some of the staff have a terrible attitude.. also, do not use the arcade that's located inside the theater.. it will eat your money and the staff treat you like you're lying.

Always clean. Snacks are very expensive and the Barbacoa Tacos are absolutely disgusting. It's sad that going to the movies and getting snacks can cost almost $100 for 2 adults and 1 child.

Love spending family time here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Several of the staff recognize us and come up to say Hello. They go out of their way to make sure we feel welcome.

Used to be a nice spot. They had an arcade room for passing time, but for some reason, they closed it down. The food isn't great, so I don't eat anything other than popcorn occasionally.

Employees were nice and attentive place was clean and had a great experience obviously the food will cost you a good amount but that's at ever theater it's how they make their profit.

My drinks were 3/4 full too much for tickets popcorn wasn't even full to the top nit satisfied. Felt like like was coming out out their pockets. I just wanted my worth. …

5/28/2023, I finally got to see first the movie "Fast X". It's a really really good movie. I enjoyed my Pepsi drink. I wish they needed to closed captain on the movie.

Love the seats, so comfortable! Not crazy about the popcorn being in a bag. Butter leaked through. I plan on taking a plastic bag with me next time. Problem solved.

It's been a while I've been to a movie,me and my daughter went it was great.Big difference from when I use to go,but overall we had a great and wounderful time.

Neat place. Did notice that they paint themselves as very different but I experienced simply a midway concept between a regular theater and Alamo Drafthouse.

The only theatre my husband and I want to go to. The sound is amazing. The snacks are regular movie theater snacks, but the chairs....omg...very comfortable!

The staff was friendly, place was clean, enjoyed our time there only complaints the volume in the theater was way too loud and the price of the movie tickets

The staff is very polite and helpful. I enjoy watching movies here. And the seats are so comfortable.
