Obtaining a library card is so easy and simple here. I walked in filled out a paper and left with a library card. Literally less than 10 minutes You are able to check out 50 books at one time if your heart desires, as well as DVDs and magazines. Even gave access to ebooks. Your account online is simple to navigate. I generally go on to place the books that I am interested in read on hold. The library emails me to let me know when it's ready for pick up and I can either go inside and get my book from the hold section or call and have them bring it out to my car. If you are due date is approaching and you aren't near the end of the book then going online to renew is simple if eligible. If you have infant to school age kids then they have activities, story time, and a play area. My toddler loves the play area. We are taking her to the PJ storytime and she is so shy. You can now get your passport processed here and get your photo done also. Such an easy process and perfect to get my 7 month old done while having my 2 year old place in the kid area. Love the library. Beautiful on the outside and very well maintained on the inside.

First timer! This library has two floors i believe I went to the second floor to find a table to study. The people are welcoming and the employees are very friendly and nice. The day I went there were problems with the lights and wifi but there was one employee that was going table to table letting us know the problems and there in the process of fixing it but wanted to let us know in case it went out and we were working on something important. That was very thoughtful!! It shows character! The lights did turn off, but we did have a warning from them that it might happen. The employee came around again apologizing and the problem was being fixed couple of minutes later the lights were back on and wifi. Even with those issues that day. The employee made it welcoming, the people were laughing and smiling. Overall a welcoming Library especially to someone new to the area. Loved it! My go-to Library to study! There were enough tables and power outlets.

This library is loaded with books of all kinds and offers many, many services. However, I have never been in a louder, noisier library in my life!! And the librariarians are some of the loudest of all! But often there are kids running around sliterally screaming, with nobody doing a thing about it, the librariarns themselves practically screaming, people come in wearing headphones that are so loud you can hear them 10 feert away, (but are sitting across a desk from you) so they may as well just unplug them, etc, etc.etc. It is nearly impossible to do any kind of concentration in thus library. It is the place I have been coming to because my computer is down, but I can hardly get any work done with all this distraction.. This was NEVER the case when I was younger. How did it become acceptable to be loud or noisy in a library? OR is it just this one?

I've been coming here twice a week and while I enjoy the layout of this place, there's a very limited area for adults to do work on a second floor. For a library that big, you would think they have more tables for adults. To get a table, you either have to arrive early or later on during the day. Libraries are supposed to be quiet but there are adults who openly talks loud. Other than that, they do have a great selection of books and comics. I appreciate that the restrooms are always clean. Good parking selections and a park within walking distance is nice. With the building just across the parking lot of the Harris court building, there are several police cars present.

Decent sized selection of books to choose from. Doesn't have all the books within the series I read, but all the more reason to find more book series! Back when I was a teen I loved the teen zone. Decent computers, and nice little area to relax in. Definitely the best library I've ever been to. The process to get a library card was quite lengthy though. So was finding out that I can't even clear my history on the library computers because they don't want you messing with the settings. Can't help but feel like my passwords weren't secure now. Then again, I was using a library network. Oh well ‍♂️

Probably the best library in the area if you’ve got small children. The children’s play area is wonderful with wooden blocks, a dollhouse, a puppet theater, an art station, a tiny kitchen, etc. My toddler loves it! The staff here is also phenomenal and have always been super helpful, especially the librarians upstairs when looking for a book. The library bookstore is a great place to donate books and also pick up a few for a buck. I miss the old library so much but this one is also a great place.

Best library in the area. Clean, well organized, and awesome staff. Great events for the kiddos. And books? My oh my. Free books outside. Books from 50 cents to a few bucks inside. Plus music and vhs or DVDs for dirt cheap also. It's two story and I've had a great experience there every time except for when some idiot was smoking in the bathroom and everyone had to evacuate due to the fire alarms going off. At least then we got to see a fire truck up close and in person too.

This is my childhood library. My siblings and I have so many fond memories in this place. As a avid book reader, the library is one of my most beloved place. I'm so happy that I'm able to take my children here so they can create their own bond with this library. - Very helpful, people friendly staff - Always have events for children, from infants to high schoolers. - Their inter-library loan service is the best! - Available for voting

The library is once again "open", after being closed during COVID. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. You can go on their website, and call on the phone to hold material with a library card. If they do not have what you're looking for they will search other libraries to find it for you if possible. They also still offer curb-side pick up for items that have been put on hold. It's a wonderful place!

This is such a good library for kids, teens and adults. It's clean and the people who work their are nice. There is always something going on at the library. And if you have a toddler or children. They are always doing something for the kids. My son and daughter both have a library card here and enjoy going. I would definitely recommend anyone who lives in the area to join..

great library, i like the kids sections is downstairs. i like that they have an area for kids, i just don't really want to have to interact or be around them. the first floor has a huge area for them to play and not get in the way of the people upstairs. great design. staff is always super helpful. library can get you rare books for other library systems and this place is wonderful

This library allows people to sleep openly in the library as well as people talking loudly on the cell phone without consideration of other people. Kids playing game on the computers and talked loudly like playing on the ground.....The librarians just turn blind eyes to all these people who abuse the system. The management should review the policy to rectify the conditions.

I love this library! It's clean, well equipped, the staff is always so friendly and helpful, and there always seems to be something going on for their patrons. Public libraries are powerful resources for the community and I'm glad this one is so close to home. Keep up the great work and thank you for being a safe haven for local residents and visitors alike.

I had a great experience obtaining my first US passport at the Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library. The service was incredibly fast, taking less than 5 minutes, and the process was smooth. I also appreciated that the location wasn't too crowded, making it even more convenient. Overall, a quick and efficient way to get my passport done!

The best source for my reading experience, great staff, nice setting, overall an excellent center for self learning. Proud to be a member of this branch. My children grew up visiting Freeman Library and now as adults cherish those memories. Try it and appreciate what is available there. Recognize the staff for their top notch service.

Great library, they know how to handle a crowd and have great programs for kids. Saw fire trucks and easily 300 people at it with no problems. Kids staff is great and understanding with little kids and go out of there way to get good programming. A great community resource and library.

Never a boring place. Great place to work, study, read/relax, and create. Upstairs has a Coloring Station for adults. And a Jigsaw puzzle to assemble on top of one of the shorter shelves. Coloring pages and Jigsaw puzzles change out regularly.

Helpful friendly staff. Several large study rooms available upon booking (and I recommend booking them in advance to be sure you get the desired time you want), and a great innovation lab. I'm glad to have this library in my area!

  • Mari Eureste

This is a big, beautiful, well organized library, but it's very loud. It's crowded with kids running and screaming. It was hard for my kids to hear me read to them and hard for them to focus.

Friendly, helpful staff. Easy and practical for getting the materials you want. If books are not in hiuse, they will order, and hold for you promptly.
