I go here often, and I can't really put my finger on it, but this place has a funky atmosphere. Sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad, but it's always just funky. They use Cafe Ibis coffee which is a personal favorite of mine, but the coffee doesn't always taste the way I expect it too? Sometimes a little bit burnt tasting? The Chai is too diluted with milk, you can't really taste it's full flavor. Staff are always really cool though!! I love interacting with them! This place is also a childhood favorite, I used to come here on weekends with my mom.

Spent a little time with a friend here today, It had been years since I walked through those doors. I spent many high school days here when I should have been in school. I had the bacon quiche and an iced white chocolate mocha my friend had the spinach quiche a slice of raspberry cheesecake (that he didn't even give me a bite of) and a vanilla latte everything was excellent. My only complaint and has nothing to do with the with the coffee garden is the construction going on literally right outside the door - jackhammers backhoes... Regrettably we sat on the patio and ended up going down to Liberty Park because of the noise. I'm sure everyone will be thankful when it's done.

It feels really difficult to write this review as I really love this place and have been visiting this place for many years.. Today when I ordered white chocolate mocha I have mentioned them to make it extra hot, but when it was given it was little less hot and I have requested them to remake it for extra hot.. The barista person that was in charge today at this time was really rude about it and this was really harsh encounter.. It would be great if these kind of rude responses will be avoided in future as this is impacting on the store directly because of one person that is causing this chaos. Just wanted to say that I really love the coffee here..

Great local spot that offers a huge variety of coffee, tea, and snacks. The service is always excellent and the vibe is really comfortable. Great place to come and work with a friend or a nice place to bring your kids. You can also come sip on a hot beverage or cold beverage with your buddies and chat. There's indoor and outdoor seating which is wonderful for all the seasons we have in Salt Lake. It's a welcoming, warm, friendly, safe spot for everyone!

I wrote my first book here and loved every minute doing so in this bustling-yet-serene haven for creatives (I spy Chinese calligraphy, watercolor painting, graphic design, writing, music composition), socialites, introverts, extroverts, students, and daily grinders doing their thang. The coffee and treats are superb. Tea and pastry selection generous. The baristas and staff make charming, fast friends and remember my order down to ounces, type of nut milk, and roast preference. Buy beans there and they’ll freshly grind them for you while including a complimentary cup with the purchase. No other cafe will do once you settle in at Coffee Garden.

Love this place every time I roll into SLC. I find it’s tough to find a good coffee shop in Utah so this is a rare find. Honestly most of the time I bring my own coffee, grinder and aeropress. There is much more specialty coffee in the SLC area but if you get outside of that you may as well count on your caffeine withdrawal starting. This time I bought a short Americano. The beans in the hopper were nice and free of oil which is a great side of not over roasting. One of the other hoppers was oily on the other hand, I’m not sure what they used that dark roast for but the non-oily was used for the espresso. The snickerdoodle was great. Fast service. Nice people. Check it out.

This is my go to coffee shop. It’s owned by two lovely, gay men. I love that! However, because it’s owned by two men, it definitely has a ManCave atmosphere at times. I love that Alan, one of the owners, put some orchids in the middle of the shop. It’s so busy that flow of traffic can be challenging. That’s a good thing!

My favorite beverage is a London fog tea latte with oat milk. They make an amazing lavender and honey syrup!!

This place is super spacious indoors and outdoors. They have an extensive menu of coffee and tea drinks, and tons of good looking pastries. It's great for working if you can work offline (there's no Wi-Fi, but tons of outlets and nothing but classical music playing). Or they can do what they suggest and converse with company! I had an iced London fog it it was high quality tea. There's definitely lots of potential on the menu here I can't comment on, but my curiosity to try more from this place is very high.

I've been here a couple hundred times, and it's truly the best coffee in SLC. The team is amazing, and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Classical music, cozy chairs, good lighting, local art, and incredible coffee - what's not to love? 5 different seating areas for high replayability (including secluded back seating, community seating, and outdoor seating with lots of dogs and sparrows). Oh, and fresh pastries. Become addicted at your own risk - I can't move cause I'd miss this place.

She cute but not really my scene. Nice place. Decent menu but not chill at all. It was Sunday morning at 11. Soooo busy. Filled to the gills with college students. Service was prompt but there was not a single place to sit. Many of the tables (1/3 to 1/2) were being taken by people by themselves so that ate up a lot of the space. Also, parking in this area (9th & 9th), in general, is pathetic. You might be lucky to find a spot behind the building. If not, you’re probably gonna be hoofing it.

I love everything about Coffee Garden, but my absolute favorites are the eclectic customers. Last time I was there, I saw a woman painting minifigures at her table, a man in a straw hat and military issued fatigues, and a woman shopping Lululemon online. It's a really great place to be gay or unique, or even just openminded. During the summer the best experience is sitting on the patio, situated on the most vibrant corner of Salt Lake City.

This place was pretty good! The espresso was a little strong for me, I'm more of a medium instead of dark person so this is personal preference and not a hit on the shop. My boyfriend loves darker roasts and he liked the espresso here a lot. The service was nice and quick and was busy even at 3pm which I did not expect. They were sweet enough to do a little whipped cream in a cup for my dog waiting outside, much appreciated!

The place is fine, their pastries and coffee are pretty mediocre. And the place is quite expensive. But I like there location. I usually get the scone and a chai latte. There’s nothing I don’t recommend, but there is also nothing that really stood out to me. If you’re in the area you should give a visit. If not, I don’t recommend taking the time to visit.

Diverse range of coffee and pastry options. Delicious and super moist GF banana muffin if you’re into that. I got a cappuccino with coconut milk when Visitng SLC and went back the next day because I liked the quality. Long lines which is great for business but be mindful if you’re in a rush, give yourself 10-15 mins.

Absolutely a great coffee spot! Good selections of coffee and pastries. Croissant is a must!! I had my plain one dipped in my coffee and it was wonderful… But I won’t recommend orange cream cake. The cream was too stiff and the flavor was slightly artificial in my opinion.

Lovely vibe, rarely a place to sit inside (cause so many love it) and they serve the best coffee ever--Caffe Ibis. The staff is also super friendly and the building inside is GORGEOUS. I love to visit here!! Dogs have to be leashed on the patio and no pets are allowed inside. There are tables as well as seating for people working/studying alone. They're environmentally aware, which I really appreciate, and it's so relaxing to sit and drink outside. :)

  • Maci Rideout

I really do love this place, been coming here for years and has a lot of sentimental value to me. The employees are always friendly and do not hesitate to compliment or create a genuine relationship. But I will say, I do miss the later hours. Especially in the summer, that patio is magical and watching a sunset at Coffee Garden during the summer is ethereal. I hope to experience that again someday.

Very cool coffee shop with really nice staff and great coffee. The space is large and has a fun industrial vibe. They don't have wifi which makes it more a place to read and visit with friends. I tend to go to coffee shops to get some work done so it limits my visits here. But there are plenty of other places for that.

MATCHA *offered oat milk & other alternatives ALMOND CROISSANT- slight overbaked outer flakes &almonds not bad but the inside was a sponge of butter. Too heavy. **maybe it was just this batch. CROISSANTS ARE DIFFICULT TO MAKE. ❤kind staff, wasn't rushed as a 1st-time customer with questions, great vibe, super diverse, outdoor area, people working on laptop (didn't check if they have Wi-Fi to come back to work here)

NO WIFI. This place has great coffee and is a cute spot for a little pastry, a date, maybe an in-person meeting. But you need to know they do not have wifi and this is not a place you can study, do anything work-related that requires internet, etc.

This place is always packed with students & friends hanging out. In the summer people bring their dogs & sit outside. Music can be loud sometimes, but not very distracting to me. Their bakery variety is amazing & all sweets they offer are very tasty. Their coffee is great and they have other hot & cold drinks to select from. Do not be surprised if you go & don’t find a seat available specially inside.

THIS! Is a coffee shop. Best espresso in the valley. My cortado is always a dream. Food is great, service is efficient and *just* enough friendly which is such a breathe of fresh air with how much service in SLC is over-polite and dribbling with niceties so much that it gets in the way of good service. The atmosphere of this place is very unique and cool. They do not have wifi, which I could see being a major problem for students. The drink was ok, I was not impressed with the overall quality, but would be willing to try again. I do appreciate that they had gluten free vegan treats also as well as a large syrup choice.

Coffee Garden is, in my opinion, the heart and soul of 9th and 9th. The coffee is incredible and the pastries (especially the croissants!) rival those of European boulangeries. But it’s so much more than that- it’s a beautiful space, friendly faces, and a community that welcomes all.
