WARNING: do not buy online and try to return in store because they are rude. Needed to exchange for one half size larger and it was such a hassle in store. The clerk stated that the “system” couldn’t let me just exchange for half size larger and now she had to “process the transaction a longer way”. She kept rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing like it was my fault their system couldn’t do a simple size exchange. I know it’s not her fault but it’s definitely not my fault either. She wanted to return the funds to the original card in 3-4 days then have me buy a new pair in store which seems like a crummy way of boasting store sales. I had to ask for store credit and then instead of using the store credit to buy a new pair she wanted me to pay from my card instead of doing the logical thing and using the store credit. She also did not offer to just get a pair from the store. She had them sipped again. Just horrible exchange experience. Should not be that difficult.

You'd be hard pressed to find a wider selection of casual and dress shoes in San Diego. While this is not a runner's or athlete's paradise, DSW has hundreds if not thousands of different shoe styles for men and women and youth. The prices are probably lower than in department stores, but more than what you'll find online. In addition to shoes, DSW is happy to sell accessories, bags, socks, leggings and even limited undergarments. The service is good and the store is clean. My one issue is that recently I purchased a $100 gift card in order to receive a bonus $25 gift card that I was told by two staff members would not expire. Well, we found out weeks later that the $25 card did indeed carry an expiration date :( My favorite part of the store is the large clearance rack where you can get shoes at 20-80% off (mostly 20-30%). So that helps to not pay such high retail prices.

I ordered a pair of tennis shoes delivered to my home. I received it about 2 weeks later via USPS. The carrier thru it under my deck, so I had to look all over the property to find it. Next I ordered two pair of shoes online delivered to the store, again they were delivered via USPS to the store. Website says 4-7 day delivery. That's a joke. They changed the "order received date" once. Changed the "shipped to store date" twice and a total of almost 4 weeks later I went to store to pick up. I called their customer service line two days in a row. On hold 1.5 hrs. + both days. Gave up. I won't order anything again. I love Ryka shoes, but DSW is way lame on shipping. Should use FedEx. They're quick.

Shopping at DSW was a great experience, They have all sorts of shoes, high heels, sandals, running shoes, and so much more and what a great deal they were too. I bought a pair of original Converse low top black and white. The shoes didn't have any defects, warpping, or tears, which is hard to believe. The one thing I didn't much care for was the amount of secret shoppers there I could tell because the guys were walking around looking at shoes with their arms crossed not even showing real interest in the shoes. They have a huge clear a huge section for Mens's shoes, and Women's shoes. Check this place out it's great, and located mission valley next to Marshalls.

Be careful about setting bags in the aisles. Bag/purse snatchers are everywhere. Instead of paying for security DSW relies on their underpaid and overworked employees. It’s a known issue in this location and DSW obviously would rather deal with their customers getting robbed than investing in any new security measures. Their aisles have known blind spots. If you go, try your shoes on out in the open and hold onto your belongings. A trip to DSW concluded in a bunch of cancelled cards and a trip to the DMV for us and they didn’t even get the theft on tape because their security is laughable.

Was in DSW over the weekend.. Was there for quite a while trying to find a pair of workout shoes.. Most of the staff was very cool except for check out when I got to a girl by the name of Isela .. total attitude !!! My husband was with me and he had said when we left she had attitude and he never complains about anybody.. She did a lot of mumbling and was in a hurry to get me out of there.. Next time I won't put up with that.. I did tell the girl by the door that was watching the homeless stealing all the shoes How rude she was.. But it probably won't go anywhere so anyway ..beware

I have been to many DSW stores and other stores, by far the customer service goes above and beyond at this location. The young lady looked for my size, called the other stores, then offered when I was ready at checkout to have them shipped to me. I continued to shop and when I got to the counter another lady helped me, she placed the sale with my delivery information, she then asked a manager for approval for the discount price which they honored. It was so hassle free, even with it not being the initial sales person who assisted me. I would return to this store again

I was absolutely amazed at all the beautiful shoes I saw tonight at DSW. Young women are SO lucky to have so many beautiful pieces of Art to put on their feet nowadays. I wished I would have been so lucky in the 80's to have had a COUPLE of these gorgeous choices - let alone row after row the ladies have now. The truth is I don't need any shoes at the moment buuuut was given a $5 off coupon - heck that's all I needed for motivation. I was able to find two excellent pairs of shoes for less than $50. I am impressed and can't wait to wear my new purchases.

The store manager Allana made my whole experience at DSW a great and enjoyable one. I had a very complicated return and I was already anticipating that I would have to do a lot of convincing, explaining and proving things to the person handling my return. But anxiety didn’t amount to anything. I explained the situation to Allana. She listened intently and immediately identified a solution that addressed my concern. The whole exchange took less than 4 min and by the end of it I was so happy and relieved. Thank you Allana!

I went to this store to buy a pair of Brooks. I was unsure about the feel. The sales rep told me I can buy them and I have 90 days to return them. I bought them and wore them 1 time.. They were not comfortable. I went in today to return them and was told the return policy is for 90 not worn. Got taken by sales rep. I feel this store sells the low quality of the shoe brand at a high price. I paid 100 dollars for my shoes and they are not 100 dollar shoes.

What did they do to the store? They have replaced the short displays with these huge overbearing displays that are taller than a person. Its dark and the shoes don't stand out. Its hard to browse. The most ridiculous thing is that I went shopping with my mom and we separated once we got in the store. I had to call her cell to coordinate a meeting spot so that we could find each other. I would've given this store 4 maybe even 5 stars before this change.

I bought a pair of heels online and went into store for pick up. I didn’t try them on in store and brought them home and walked around for 5 mins on my deck to find out they were too small and gave me blisters. Barely any scuffs or dirt and when I brought them back in to return they said they would absolutely not take them regardless if they were too small cause they had scuffs on them. Honestly ridiculous and a waste of $55 dollars.

I love the new lay out of the store. You are personally greeted with a service associate with the tablet. The store is a bit messy. Boxes on floor. Shelves are not zoned. Don't dare go to the Clearance shoe section. Nothing is really Clearance. Restroom is clean. But I can't justify the pricing when you can go to Amazon and find the shoes there! UPDATE: They had everything more organized and clean. Which I am glad the fixed.

The staff member that offered assistance was very nice, that is why I gave 3 stars. I don't like layout, you have to go up and down, rows that are angled, previous layout easier to go towards style you're looking for. There was not as much variety, felt like I was looking at same shoe, just different color, I was disappointed. I hadn't been there in about a year, didn't care for change, doubt I will be back anytime soon

My 94 year old father asked could he use the restroom while my daughter was shopping there. He was told by Stephanie that they didn't have bathrooms and sent him to Marshalls up the way. He is 94 and has mobility issues. I called back after I heard what happened and was told they have bathrooms but they cant be used because of Covid. Poor excuse. They can take your money but wont let you use the bathroom.

You need to cut down on employees and retrain them for proper customer service. I just left your store. I was in there for an hour and of the many employees walking around, standing around chatting or just walking past, no one asked me if I needed any help which would have been useful, as I was interested in a couple different styles of shoes and you didn't have my size. Lame. I will never be back.

Excellent customer service. Service defined by how a problem is handled. I had an issue with a switched box/size pair of shoes and it turned worse as the replacement order received a week later was also wrong. But the manager fixed the issue and was very apologetic over the mistakes made by the store, refunding entire amount of the shoe once the correct pair was ordered and received.

I used to buy shoes here years ago. This time I went, the store had changed, not for the best in the men's department unfortunately. I found maybe two shoes that I liked, but they were ten to twenty dollars above what you could buy them for online, and this DSW does not price match . Giving two stars because it does help to come here and try on sizes before buying same pair online.

Dont bother trying to order items from this store. When you try to contact the store by phone about your order its literally impossible to get a hold of anyone. They have an automated recording which just repeats itself. No option to speak with anyone in the store. Last time Ill be ordering anything from DSW. The concept of customer service is lost on tuis store.

Row after row of shoes ahhhh. You can usually find what you need here and there are pretty accessories too like purses scarves socks and jewelry. I shop the men's area for my teen son so I can say it has a good selection too. All quality shoes. The parking lot is huge but spots can be hard to get. Try shopping at less busy times like during the day on weekdays.

Friendly staff, always ready the help and find the right size of shoes. Selection and prices are great, 90% of time I find something I am looking for. However for work out shoes I prefer other stores than dsw. Since vegan leather and vegan lifestyle is is style they should have larger selection and clean labeling for people who looking for non leather items.

I go for the deeply discounted prices not for anything else. Barely any staff around and very slim inventory this time, so I bought nothing, but usually buy 2 or 3 pairs at a time, just because I hate shoe shopping and want to get it over with quickly. But this is about par for bargain shopping. I like that there seem to be a few more clothing items now.

I'm going to be refunding a pair of heels my boyfriend got me because when i got home family members noticed the glued on portion of the shoes were coming off. Unfortunately we needed them for his brother's wedding tomorrow and I have no time left to go back into the store this weekend. Breaking out my Bakers heels and back to the store these will go.

The shoes I was ordering on Amazon weren't fitting, so I decided to go to an actual shoe store and try on a pair. What a concept! I was looking for specific shoes for under-pronaters (please don't judge me) and I found the shoes I wanted. Sadly however they do not have the sandals I wanted. All in all a good experience. Very gracious staff.

Register staff was friendly but new layout takes forever to find what you're looking for. Didn't seem like anyone was working the floor so no one proactively helping customers. I prefer being able to see across the aisles to spot what I need. All the angles make it really difficult. Don't go here if you're trying to be quick.

Was looking at shoes online and DSW popped up. I haven't been there since they first started here and wasn't impressed with them back then. But what I found this visit was a much improved store with hundreds of shoes and more. Now I'm impressed! Selection, pricing and the overall experience way exceeded what I'd expected.

I spent 30 minutes looking for shoes I like. I saw about 8 pairs of shoes I really like, the only problem was they didn't have my size in any of them. I ended up buying a pair of running shoes that were ok, and they still weren't the right size. Selection for shoe sizes over 11.5 is very minimal.

This location was very unorganized. Shoes were everywhere. They were falling off if the shelves, tossed all across the floor. The help wasn't really helpful. Shoes were in the wrong spot. I would never shop at this location again.

Tried to find some different choices of women's walking shoes and mostly what they had were athletic shoes NOT walking shoes like Clarks or Merrill's. Also NO floor staff present only cashiers you waited in line to speak to.
