The clothes were a bit nicer then I thought they would be, I bought 5 summer dresses that I really liked. However, an employee named Yasmine, perhaps in her mid fifties was so mean to me and other customers. I asked her opinion on a dress I tried on and felt perhaps it was too young for me...she said "I am not telling you ANYTHING! I DONT HAVE TO AND DONT WANT TO!' I almost started to cry. Such hostility for what??? Then I said why do you work here if you hate talking to people and you think fashion is stupid? She walked away.. I did nothing to her but say a few kind words?? Then I let go of my service dogs leash and she screamed for the manager. That woman humiliated me, scoffed at my invisible disability and said as she screamed for the manager that I had let my dogs leash go. Of course I had, I was looking at my backside in the mirror. She refused to help me out with even a word, my dog just stood there looking puzzled as Yasmine belittled me and shamed me for having a stroller for a DAM DOG! I don't think I can let this one go. There must be some words that woman needs to hear. We all know life is hard Yasmine, you don't have it any harder then the rest of us! The other women who helped me in the store were wonderful...thanks Gals,I hope that issue is resolved soon!

It is sad this Ross location has gone down in costumer service so much! I own a place downtown San Diego in the Marina District for 12 years now. I have always loved going to this Ross, taking family & friends to shop . this was my favorite place to shop but today I was really disappointed by the staff working there. I needed an extra bag because I forgot my reusable bags at home and the cashier refused to give me one, the manager was the same and the watchman told me I was killing the planet! They told me to buy a reusable bag. I do not need more reusable bags. I have a lot. I just forget didn’t even know I was going to go to Ross and buy anything at this time. I was just walking and happens to go inside and find some good deals and buy it. What a shame Ross is hiring this type of people that don’t care about the good costumers. I just needed one more bag because I was going to walk almost 10 blocks and the cashier put too many heavy items in just one bag. Also, she gave me an small bag for a rug! Half of the rug was in and the other half was out! She said the big bags were reserved for pillows. That never happened to me at that Ross. Very sad how they treat the costumers.

Store Associates are always nice. They do a great job at dealing with a great level of crazy unique to the location. Security is heavy and suspicious of every customer. You will be obviously approached several times with security personnel acting to do nonsense tasks while looking you over while you just do your shopping. The selection of merchandise is currently limited in many departments. The store interior is dated, worn and organized in a mish-mosh mess of a layout. Warning: The lighting in this store is garish, bright white drenching of horror...... everything appears UGLY, clothes, displays, other customers and YOU. Do not look in a mirror. That lighting causes you to get UGLY. Fortunately, Ugly goes away once you exit the store, but then your outside. Now you're in an area with a completely different ugly. It's Ross in an Downtown, transit corridor location.... adjust expectations accordingly

No pictures for this one, but I came in here for an umbrella, some birthday and Valentine’s Day gifts last month and got almost everything I needed and then some. I’ve never been to a Ross’s before and was surprised to see it’s oddly similar to Marshall’s or TJMaxx, they have literally EVERYTHING, but they’re price point is a few dollars lower (competition is friendly for business!) I’m sure many people shy away from this location due to the area (many transients and shoplifters frequent this location) but it was organized for the most part and I got two out of three gifts I needed. Since this location is closest to where I work and home, I would definitely shop here again.

Purchase thousands of dollars from here and all of a sudden the well fed manager lady decides there's a new rule claiming it's corporate policy that I can't use a large bag for my purchased goods when I shop at all Ross's in SD every week. I can't have a large Ross bag that costs 10 cents. This lady is off her rocker... I literally just bought $420 worth of stuff and she said those bags are now only reserved for rugs and 'large household items' (arbitrary definition for that- convenient). I would be careful this lady is so serious defending her low wage job to the point of pushing away customers that have loyal patronage which PAYS HER SALARY.

It's somewhat unfortunate that I would figure this Ross gets some (maybe allot, I have not looked at any ratings/reviews for this store) of Lowerd ratings being theres usually some homelessness around the area, to which I speak from my own experience tó those whom have not, Nor will they in all likelihood. What is likely, unfortunately, are a those very few amongst themselves that can and do cause the perception of them all to carry that indifference over as cause of situation that didn't correlate already. Otherwise the place is great

It's a Ross like any other but what I didn't appreciate is how condensed all the clothing areas were. There is no possibility of social distancing in some areas of this store. It's 2 stories with women's on the 1st & pretty much everything else on the 2nd. Found what we needed & I love Ross but did not like how suffocating the aisles are. The selection is good but the employees are never around to answer any questions and the checkout lines are terribly long at all hours of the day. Also as you walk in there is a security guard who does not greet you but looks you up and down with a unfriendly look on his face. Also the store is usually very messy and not well organized. Not to mention the prices on items are often simply not there with no one around to ask.

I live downtown, so I go to the one downtown. This one is well organized and the staff is really friendly and helpful! I love the clothes that they have there, men and women. Great selection of shoes. If you're looking for kitchen accessories you'll find it here!! Christmas decor, toys for the kids, perfumes (men and women)!! Well, what can I say they're just an all around great store with awesome stuff and prices!!

Staff are friendly and helpful. They are visibly working to keep store running well and clean. I would give them 5 stars, and the 3 isn't their fault. The city is at fault because it's dangerous to get to the store. I was chased by a crazed bum outside the store. The area is surrounded by monsters from I AM LEGEND. Shame on SD "leadership" for gifting the city to demons.

Dress for less that's what Ross is called for .Once you will enter in the store you will see many customers have filled their shopping bag already.It has varieties of footwear,Underwear,Suitcases T Shirts,Shorts for all the ages.This place is good for budget that's why my friend look for Ross always.One of my friend was really happy when he got Levis shoes just for $ 12.

Their customer service and variety of name brands was perfect and a breath of fresh air! Ana and Manager Karen went the extra mile in contacting my husband and my Mother to let them know I had left my phone at the counter. Thank you ROSS for your outstanding products, prices but most importantly your care and concern for a absent minded customer. You truly saved me!

Good points, at least there is a discount store downtown, and they have a decent selection in such a small place. Their employees are friendly, but seem overworked or spread thin. Bad points, it seems to be in a bad part of town, a lot of riffraff around. But considering the cost of items in what’s mostly “specialty stores” downtown, the prices are reasonable!

I live close by and just ran over to buy a dish drying set. It's downtown and it was a mess. I wanted to go downstairs, one of the elevators was out of order. I found what I was looking for, but I paid $6.00 more than a couple of years ago. Oh well. Sign of the times. Be prepared that everything is has gone up on price, a lot. People were friendly.

This Ross is not in a great area of town but there is security at the door, which helps a little bit. When we visited there were a lot of people in the store who seemed questionable, but no one bothered us directly. Prices are fair and it’s organized somewhat decently. Overall it’s fine if you’re in a need for a new clothing article, quickly

I like the store but when it be busy you have a long wait. The customer service was nice at the register. It is hard to find a person to help on the floor. But it is a discount store so you search on your own an find Treasures that you must have. I am disabled so i love the ramp walk way to get in the store an to leave the store.

Nice product in the store. Good prices. Shady area. Poor downtown SD has changed so much. Dude pissing right on street as we walked to Ross. No shame. It was evening when we left. Gripped my bags just a little bit tighter. I can't knock the store just the area. Didn't feel like the downtown SD I remember. It felt dirty.

Needed to add to my wardrobe due this thing called pandemic weight. I very satisfied with my purchases, but my only complaint is it seems like most stores aren't putting out much merchandise. A majority of the shelves had empty spaces and the clothing department was the same... I would have purchased more otherwise.

The store itself was fine. It has what you expect from a typical Ross. However, the part of San Diego that it is in is a bit rough in terms of homelessness. In turn, walking there was a bit of an adventure. And, for the first time ever, there was a security guard at the front door opening a gate for folks to enter.

The store is very small not a large selection at this location and it's extremely expensive I can't afford hardly anything there unless it's on clearance. I have shopped many other rough stores in the north San Diego county region and they are much better there than that particular location in San Diego.

Really limited as far as men's items go. I had to grab a simple black tie, and dress slacks (which they also didn't have) inventory is probably based on local clientele. Some decent home items, but I'd your looking for a thing formal or semiformal men's clothing wise, select a different store.

Just when you thought their customer service couldn’t get worse, they surprise you. No way I am waiting in a manufactured line to get into Ross like it’s a trendy night club rather than a place to pick up discount consumer goods. These folks have lost their minds with this performative b.s.

The Ross outlet place is well-known to be low budget, but this spot specially has a lot of homeless visitors and some of them are rude. Security is always checking, but there is only one guard at the entrance. It ends up being the dirtiest Ross that I had visited Come during light day

No room to move. They place carts with stuff in them to block off aisles, and just leave them. It's dirty and the employees are indifferent to everything around them.people there lack courtesy the deals are not worth the B.S. that you endure from start to finish.

Ross is a department of wealth and prosperity. I am going to leave the stress of disappointment and worry In the most interesting items in one place. The most wonderful day I can imagine would consist of a few more visits to Ross and enjoy the experience

I like Ross a lot. FYI the downtown location is limiting how many people they allow in. Probably covid related, but it's a policy they can keep. The shelves were full, and the line was short. Update as of 7/10/23 Still limiting total number of shoppers.

I there to exchange an item but didn't have my receipt, only a digital copy of the transaction, the market went out if her way to help me. Looked up the transaction and printed the receipt so I could complete my exchange, what great customer service!

There's way too much people, and security in the place. You must wait in line to get into the store. You can tell the staff work very hard since they are politely and they have to deal with a lot of people and their insanely huge purchases

They didn't exactly have what I was looking for as in terms as in long term use nor did they have a wide variety either but I wasn't shopping for me however who I went for was satisfied with what I did get and that was a blanket and a bra.

The manager is Not at all nice! He was strict with just a plain plastic bag and warned me that I get only one? Customers should be treated nice coz we buy, I always buy here but with the interaction from the manager will not buy anymore..

They been having empty shelves for all departments. Women,men, kids (B&G) women accessories and men accessories. Home, etc. I'm not sure why. I liked coming to this location because of better products but lately it's been not my favorite.

Haven't been to this store in a long time because of C-19. They has EXACTLY what I wanted..Store didn't appear very busy but they needed more than just 2 cashier's but I love Ross Dress for Less! Less people means a cleaner store too ☺️

A bit overpriced for a discount store! Not much of a selection compared to other locations. And they limit the amount of customers in the store for "safety" reasons. Which is an inconvenience when you just need to get in and out.

it's not Nordstrom it's Ross. everyone goes to Ross because of the low price designer clothes. Staff was constantly working on placing items back were they go. Too bad some customers don't put it back where they go

Ross is my second home. It's close by and so convenient that I'm there just about every week. The prices are super low plus I get 10% senior discount every Tuesday. I love going down in the basement for housewares!

5 Stars because of the selection of shoes and type of shoes they have to sell. I love buying socks in bundles. Lots of different labels to choose from. Excellent place to buy socks. That is all I come for.

The security needs to relax a little bit here. The attitude you put out is going to put the shoppers in danger with aggressive retaliation. I was as courteous as possible and it was challenging.

They don’t care about any distances or mask covers even when I talked to the manager he told me they told them not to tell anyone about the mask and such oh what a way to go back to zone ONE

Great experience! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great selection and great deals. The fitting room needs a deep cleaning but that’s about it. Lines moved swiftly. Got some cute stuff!

I do not do much shopping for myself. But I love buying clothes here for my daughter, and I shopped here for my other daughter too. All the clothing selection is amazing and good quality.

Variety of brands, good prices, you need to visit every now and then as the collection as well as sizes will be changed or more added, there are many stores around so keep your eye on it.

This is the best Ross location in San Diego. The store has two floors, very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. New items appear weekly and have excellent use of space .

This is a clothing store in downtown San Diego. They may not have what you are looking for, but they do in fact have some clothes. Don't set your expectations too high.

Kinda sketchy and small probably a good place to check for a thing sold out at other locations. The downtown trolley (orange and blue) line go right in front of store.

My favorite place to shop. Clearance rack is the best! I have found $5 Dickies work pants and Levi's also. Ray Ban sunglasses selection is great. It's a hidden gem...
