It was a mistake to come here today. My first time here. The 12 oz frozen margarita was not good. It was so bad I couldn’t drink it. I ordered chicken fajitas and asked for borracho beans instead of refried beans. He brings me a bowl of borracho beans and the refried beans. I repeated my order and he says we don’t do substitutions. Ok. I didn’t know that. I was charged $14.99 for my lunch fajitas. I was also charged $7.95 for beans. My bill with the bad margarita and tax was $28.94. My server was weird. He kept stopping at my table and would just look at me. I finally asked if he needed something from me, I thought he might be trying to cash out but nope. He runs my card. Brings me the paperwork but no pen. The guy at the cash register didn’t speak to me at all. I asked if he was the owner. He said “no”. Nothing more. My server followed me outside and asked if he could get my car door. I told him to just stay away from me. Scary.

It’s actually really good. Only issue is that it seems sketchy af. A little dirty and the random security guard wandering around actually makes me feel more uneasy than if he wasn’t there. Haha. He literally just wanders through the tables looking over everyone’s shoulders. I’m sure he’s a fine person but there’s something about it that made me a little uneasy. That being said I will be back. ‍♂️. What’s a little uneasy feeling about a man I don’t know with a gun in a police uniform wandering around while I eat. Haha. That is a semi serious statement. I think maybe it just makes me think what the heck has gone on here that he needs to be such a present force during my meal. I don’t know. At any rate I enjoy the food and service is decent.

Do not get food here please. They Do NOT clean their plates off and do not care what you order. One of my family members has a shrimp allergy and they gave him a but ton of shrimp. But when they asked to get it again fixed they only took off the shrimp but the juice was still on there his mouth is currently swollen and they are just horrible they have bugs, bad service, and incorrect plate cleaning and food order telling. BC I ordered a meal I got my plate smelled like fish but there was no fish in my order. All In all DO NOT EAT HERE. A McDonalds is better than this place

Sorry, but prolly worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I have spent quite a bit of time in Mexico and love the food. This is nothing like any I've ever had. The salsa is similar to watered down tomato soup with some onion and cilantro thrown in. The tortillas could be mistaken for thin cardboard. Had one of the more expensive meals and wound up eating the chicken, some of the clumped rice and the over ripe avocado slices. I was starving. Had to track down server for ticket. Do not recommend.

The Burrito Texano was the best I've had. My daughter's burrito deluxe must have been great also because I've never seen her eat that much. Food was very hot when it got to the table which I think really set it over the top from many others I've had. The waitress was preoccupied with something and missed bringing the cheese dip we wanted. The food was so good it almost made 5 stars anyway.

Fantastic food & the house margaritas are awesome! (And we eat a lot of Mexican food! lol!6 Also, they have happy hour every day, so house margs are only $3.99 and they were great!! We had the deluxe nachos and they were so delicious!. Lots of tender, moist chicken, seasoned ground beef, Refried beans, a little cheese, fresh-cut lettuce, & a very, very fresh tasty tomato slice. Wish we lived closer so we could go back often. Unfortunately, the pic I took of our nachos didn’t turn out, but here’s one of my marg. We highly recommend checking this place out on your own!

Worst experience I've ever had. Came with a large group after a funeral. Called ahead and advised of group coming. Set up was not ready. Food kept getting mixed up. The waiter asked 1/2 dozen times After everyone paid if we were sure we paid. Waiter removed the top from a to go cup of someone in our party to "check" to see if there was alcohol in the cup. Actually reached over and removed the lid and refused to apologize. A horrible and stressful experience after an already stressful day. Will never patronize them again.

Terrible service. Dry, unseasoned food. Waste of $80. Waiter took 15 minutes just to greet us and ask for our drinks and another 20 minutes to bring them out and take our orders. Our waiter disappeared after giving us our food, didn't check on us to see how our food was or if we needed anything else and returned 30 minutes AFTER we finished our meals to hand us our check. Of course we had to wait forever for him to return just to be able to leave, so we eventually had to call another worker.

El Rey's is always the best place to go for drinks! Long day at work? Well, head to El Rey's for a monster margarita! Guaranteed to take the edge off any stressful day! Now, don't be fooled, the food is also delicious!! I frequent this location often, and would recommend it to those wanting a good drink!! However, you may have to look for your server more than once and that's the only reason the score isn't perfect. ‍♂️ Sheesh, when I need more water...where are you???

Had to walk inside to order another drink, and the cashier just starred at me as if she had no clue what I was asking. She pointed at another young man who also could not take the order. This place was SUPER !!!! Got there just shortly after the lunch crowd. Quick to bring out the chips and salsa. Got our drink order and got them right out. The fajita was excellent, the 2 lunch specials were excellent as well and my burrito special was large and less than it would cost back home for a dinner special with 2 burritos. The location is kinda weird and the food was just okay. I ordered pitchers of margaritas and got sick before I left. It was very cheap alcohol. Our first server was excellent but when his shift ended we were not notified not were we served anymore. We had to ask for service and more water. We tipped very well inspite of this. The place get very loud on Friday before 5pm and seems to be a favorite spot for locals in the neighborhood. I won’t visit again.

I had very bad service here. I sat outside. They took my order. They gave me my drink and my food. After receiving my order they never never came back to check on me. I asked why they didn't come back, I was told they had a big party and they forgot about me. I asked to speak to a manager several times and was told it wasn't one on duty. They will never get another penny from me!!!!! If you're smart you wouldn't give them one either!!!!!!

It was okay nothing great. My chili reno didn't have any sauce on it and was greasy. It came hot and fast and the salsa was good. Staff was friendly. We did notice that even though we were only a party of 4 they put the tip included anyway. The sign at the front said parties 6 or more would have a percent included for gratuity but if they can they will I guess.

Has a great menu! Good drinks! It is a nice quiet place to eat just outside of Nashville. My husband said the salsa isn't very spicy if you are into spicy salsa. Very generous portions of food. They also had a chicken plate that had vegetables you dont usually see at a Mexican restaurant. It had broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots and it was wonderful. My husband said whatever sauce they use on their steak fajitas is great too!

I went with a friend so I won't give this place a 2 star. My food came fast and customer service was swift. I ordered shrimp and rice with broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots(i forgot the name of the dish).The food lacked seasoning/flavor. My grilled veggies were a little soggy. The queso Blanco served was warm but bland. But overall it was a nice warm meal for a very reasonable price.

Came here for lunch to beat the dinner crowd. Ordered the Chorizo con Huevos plate, Burrito Texano, and the House Guacamole. Satisfied with the food portions and service.

I am a truck driver and sometimes stay next door at the super 8 motel. I always come here when I do. The beer is always cold and the food is always good. The service is really good. Do yourself a favor and try the Molcajete Volcan. It is the best I've ever had and I have eaten at Mexican joints all over the country. It's not a fancy place but it makes up for it with the food

After visiting this establishment for several years, it pains me to write this review --- USE CAUTION WITH DEBIT/CCs here. I was overcharged by $300 for $39 worth of take out. When I called to get the charge resolved, I was told "sorry, we cannot help you". The food is good but only use CASH at this spot unless you want a big surprise. (Filed a fraud claim with my bank.)

My first visit...and my last. I've heard from numerous people over the years how they enjoy this place. Seriously, it's gotta be the alcohol that dulled their experiences and made it more than what it was. The server looked like she'd rather be anywhere but there. The walls and ceiling are dirty. The drinks were strong. The food was fresh out the microwave. Never again.

It was a really good place to stop and eat before getting into Nashville traffic. It’s right off the interstate. The food was pretty good, served fast, and there was a nice atmosphere. I only wish they had a changing table in the men’s restroom. I hurt my hand so my husband had to go into the women’s restroom as soon as no one else was in it to help me change our baby.

After reading reviews we were expecting great food. Food was average, service was not that great. I would prefer to try different Mexican restaurants over this for sure.

The good thing about it is they serve lunch every day. Prices are not very expensive. They have a very hot and spicy sauce. They give you a good portion for lunch fajitas. During mi visit I saw a mix of Black, Whites and Latinos which is good for me. Everyone has to be welcomed to any place. My only complaint is that music was playing a little bit loud.

The food is very good. Comes out quickly. The place can get packed. But, the service is lacking tremendously. Forget about drink refills unless you order alcohol. You rarely get checked up on. Takes forever to get your check. I sat there while staff just stood by doing nothing. And, then our server went on break and handed us off to someone else.

Took them 30 minutes to take our order even then we had to ask for someone. Then it took 45 minutes for them to bring our food, we had to go all of it was done. Didn't not get the correct drink. But yet I had to pay 35 dollars for two people and when I asked for the manager the lady proceeded to tell me that they didn't have one in the store.

Great little place off the interstate. We were traveling through and Googled, Mexican Resturant near my location and it worked out great. Wait staff was friendly and the food was good. If you are traveling and looking for a good quick meal this is a great stop!

Great American-Mexican cuisine at even better prices. Plenty of menu options including vegetarian dishes, a kids menu, & awesome happy hour specials. Air conditioned seating indoors for couples, families, or groups. Plenty of outdoor tables too for catching some rays while sipping Margaritas. The enchiladas are a must-try.

My coworker and I wanted a meal lunch after a long day at work so we stopped here on our way home. This restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating for social distancing. We both ordered the fajita chicken salad...it was AMAZING! The service was great and the prices are fair! I will return to this establishment!

They were speedy and polite. However, the chorizo tacos I got tasted and smelled bad, and I sure enough got an upset stomach the next day. My partner's burrito supreme was tasteless and overcooked. Definitely not worth the $30 we spent.

Visiting Nashville from Austin, TX. My sister and brother in law took me to this place and I found it quite enjoyable. Food was good, portions were large, and the prices were reasonable. Family-friendly atmosphere and friendly service. I definitely would attend regularly if I lived in the area.

Excellent food and great service! Everyone here was very friendly and the menu is extensive. We had Huevos Rancheros and Pork Carnitas. Both were really good, the pork was the best I've tasted. Lots of gluten free for a celiac to eat and the portions are very generous. Highly recommended

Wow, who knew Mexican food could taste that good. Traveling home Thanksgiving weekend, and stopped. The food and service were phenomenal. I've only ever had one burrito that large, and that was in 29 Palms CA. If we are that direction again, we will definitely plan to stop.
