Our waiter was really nice and friendly. Sadly he works in a very disgusting restaurant. The food is subpar and management is incompetent. The manager is very rude and should not be there. This used to be a wonderful place to eat! I don’t know if it is under new management or ownership or both… Either way it is a dump! The food tasted like week old leftovers out of a microwave. You will regret it, I promise! Don’t be fooled by the five star reviews. These are likely paid reviews and or done by relatives/friends. Nobody in their right mind would give this place a five star rating. You would get better service at a fast food restaurant from a 15-year-old. This manager needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. It’s one thing to serve awful food but I don’t know where you find the nerve to serve it with the attitude the manager has over there. If I serve food half as bad as they do I would at least treat people with a shred of dignity. This is the type of place that’s going to end up on the news. To anyone visiting Nashville please be aware that we have amazing restaurants all over the city and you are never far away from an amazing Mexican joint. This city does not need a reputation like that. That guy needs to be run out of town and out of the food industry entirely.

The restaurant was not very busy at 6pm on a week night, so we were able to be seated immediately for dinner. The waitress was very friendly and efficient, and she was actually pretty funny considering no one at our table was fluent in Spanish and our inability to pronounce one or two dishes correctly spread quickly throughout the restaurant. The gentleman who delivered our food made sure to announce each dish loudly and in an over exaggerated way. Again, all of this was just part of the experience and poking fun at my husband who wouldn't even attempt to order his food without pointing at the menu. Our dishes were way larger portions than we expected but everything was incredibly good. Our meals consisted of chicken nachos, which could have fed a small family. The traditional Mexican shrimp cocktail which was served in a huge margarita glass, a combination platter that had a taco and enchilada which consumed the entire plate, and the arroz con Pollo which was chicken and rice covered in cheese sauce and served with fresh tortillas. We recommend this traditional restaurant if you are on the East side of Nashville and looking for a quick dinner, especially if you are staying at the Elm Hill resort.

4 stars for the wonderful food but there was an obnoxious overly intoxicated man seated right next to the entrance who was sexually harassing the staff and using foul language. So 1 star for the atmosphere. I now know the size of his private area, how long it could take him in the backroom with each of three women and which part of their bodies he felt was the most attractive and inviting. The staff seemed to brush it off and laugh or join in with his behavior. The food was incredible (portions and taste) but if I had had my younger child with me, I would've left due to exposing him to such an inappropriate patron and women who feel it's ok to be degraded. My 15 year old son got to learn a lesson about how to treat a woman and how not to behave in public. Thankfully he recognized on his own. He actually asked my permission to request that the man be told to leave the restaurant. I said to ignore the man and to focus on our meal. We got to-go boxes and left soon after being served.

I give this 5* rating from a different perspective than my usual foodie-self. I give this review as a resident of the area who is grateful for a tasty, reasonably priced meal that's close to home; grateful for the friendly service, fast turnaround from ordering to eating & Sangria that isn't syrupy-sweet. The Molcajete is hands-down the best item on the menu. Don't let the inclusion of cactus scare you off - it's removable. (But should still be tried, totally.) They've recently remodeled, so don't let comments about falling through chairs or a "scary" atmosphere dissuade you from visiting. If you live nearby, stop thinking so hard! Go and enjoy the patio, a beverage & some Carnitas with a good friend. It's that kind of place.

Service is spotty. Tables are either good or bad on being level. Flooring makes your footing slippery while trying to sit in place. Booth seating is horrible as most booths have lost their support. Sink in or feel the supporting under you. Food is well priced for the portions. Most of the time, the food tastes good, but a lot of times, you won't get what was described in the menu. Either missing or added ingredients. Sometimes melted cheese, sometimes shredded. Sometimes guacamole in the taco salad, sometimes not. Trivia nights on Thursdays from 7-8 PM. Don't expect great service then. Juan is their best, but even he gets overwhelmed on evenings. Without him, I don't think we'd ever get refills or our check by 8:30.

I drive by this place all the time and friends told me it was good. I guess my friends are liars lol. I went for lunch today they weren't busy. Ordered lunch chimi didn't take long to get but menus said it was chunks of beef it came out some gross grount flavorless mess. Waitress was mia most of the meal so i got some watery salsa and refried beans with rice for the bargain price of 14 dollars. I complained at the register to a guy and he was all shoulders and no help. He said no it dissent come that way unless it's on special even if the lunch menus says it comes that way what a ripoff. I did too the waitress also had a coke but taco bell would have been way better.

  • Michelle Bray-McDonald

Food was decent. No sense of urgency to Seat dine in customers. Priority seem to go toward call in and to go orders. We stood at the front door for a while. In fact there were people standing outside wondering what the wait was. Our server was unprofessional and not good. After we sat there for some time we asked about a frozen drink, she said machine is broke while we are sitting there looking at others and their frozen drinks...she FINALLY came back WITH our frozen drink proceeded to leave I asked can we place our order now she said " I'm very busy" WHAT!!!! Needless to say I won't b back. Wanted to patronage them in support but never again.

7/3/19 -update. PROS: Nice updates to patio. We decided to try again. Food seemed to be prepared with better execution now, margaritas were good as expected. CONS: I only wish they would either move the dumpsters or build a box around them like most restaurants do. The smell coming around the side of the building can make the patio in bearable at times. One moment it’s fine, and the wind could change and the smell is so bad I don’t want to eat my food anymore. We are patio people, it’s just easier for my family. We have been driving across town to a place with a patio for the last year. Really hope they make this change to dumpster.

Just like home! Great food and service from start to finish. A great chef once told me to always try the nopales first at any new restaurant, and if those are done right, you can bet they put the time and care into the rest of their food, too. This was especially true at LA Hacienda! Good prices, great portions and friendly service. The Molcajete Azteca was absolutely delicious!!! I cannot wait to go back and try more!

Prices are amazing and there's too much to choose from! Staff was super friendly. Food was pretty good over all, but was lacking in seasoning. The salsa had a nice texture but tasted mostly like tomato sauce and the ground beef in my burrito was mealy with no flavor. It was supposed to have sauce on top but was light on that, if there was a good amount the flavors would have been more on point. Hubby is a rice connoisseur and was not satisfied with the seasoning. But the chips were good, beer was cheap, and the staff wonderful. So even though we weren't blown away by the food we would certainly come back again.

  • Fly Amanita

Yo…this food is NOT Mexican food. I don’t know why so many people have written great reviews for such a failure of a attempt to pass down culture through food, which is something that should be considered a sacred practice. When I ate this food, my whole day from that point on had collapsed into a rabbit hole of despair and complex existentialism. This experience triggered a thought in my mind that maybe this town has too little of a Mexican presence in order for REAL Mexican food to be embraced. I won’t go into my culture cause you do not need to be Mexican to know this is the paper mache equivalent to food.

  • Lindsay Thomas

We have been going to this place for over a year now, we left out original restaurant JUST to come here... Now for the THIRD time they have forgotten to put shrimp in our order after paying extra and they have the nerve to say we are lying? All we asked forv was the shrimp or a refund for the shrimp.... but the guy started yelling at us saying we were lying!? I'm absolutely DISGUSTED by this place and I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere! Believe the rumors cause we didn't and now we are in this mess!

We had the La Hacienda nachos and just a basic 3 taco bean/rice combo dinner. Our waitress was prompt and very attentive. The food was served quickly and hot. However the tacos were a bit pasty having only a heavy amount of cheese and lettuce and no tomatoes. Even the nachos had very little tomatoes and for them to have been steak nachos, the meat was very sparse, almost non-existent in some places of the dish. And while the chips and salsa was okay, the salsa had very little salsa "spark" or flavor and even making us question if it was just tomato sauce.

This food is obviously old and tastes horrible. The chicken had no flavor and had that mealy texture of chicken that has been overcooked or reheated alot. The rice is an off color and was sticking together in clumps it was so disgusting. The beans are just had a disgusting layer of grease on them. Seriously one of the worst mexican restaurants I've eaten. I didnt expect this place to be great I just wanted it to be edible.

I honestly did not know what to expect, as a Mexican chef I always reserve my judgment for my favorite foods, but wow. Across the board they checked all the boxes. Hot delicious food served in the blink of an eye, attentive and professional staff, and our waiter, Juan, absolutely perfect. Beginning to end impressed. Please do not sleep on La Hacienda, worth the visit and a great value all around. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Chef Tony

Wish I could give no stars..idk if yall are under new management but I just had two men look at me up and down and tell me I couldn't eat there cause of what I was wearing (a romper cause its summer in Tennessee). This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant and me and my man go here all the time but they won't have our business any longer. Never been more embarrassed and never had that happen to me. Two men looking me up and down judging me on weather my skin is covered enough. Disgusting.

  • Gail C

The food had a good taste but was not hot even though we arrived before they said it would be ready and it was only a 5 minute ride there and back. Fajita steak was very dry and tough, chicken burrito was soggy and the chicken was tough and the burrito is boxed with the sides and condiments, making the tortilla very soggy. The food would be better if eaten at the restaurant and not as takeout.

Sadly it is not the place It was or maybe had hoped it to be. Recently went there with a male companion and the girl at the front greeted my companion and ignored me. There have been other incidents of rudeness before but this finished it for me. It’s not my favorite restaurant so I’m ok with not eating there again.

Out of the 3 times I've gone, it's been wonderful! Great service, delicious food, and friendly staff, and fast! Cheap as well and great place to eat Mexican food if you can't have spice. Bathroom is kind of gross though... Other than that, 8/10 would recommend!

This was our first time here. It was super good..Great atmosphere, fantastic food and the staff was wonderful. I had the chicken poblano with grilled veggies and guacamole salad...couldn't finish. It was amazing! I do low carb and this was I perfect. The rest of my group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We had margaritas which were very good and the chips and salsa at the begining were so tasty! We DEFINITELY will return!

  • Amy Pryor

The service was great, beans and rice were great. However, the salsa was bland and tasted like tomato paste mixed with water and the taco shells were stale! You read that correctly, they were stale and store bought. I like store bought tortilla shells but not after they've been on the counter top getting stale all day. Ive never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn't make their own crunchy shells.

  • Luna Whitworth

Have been coming to La Hacienda for upwards of 10 years now. Have always been welcomed and serviced adequately. However, recently I brought a friend with a service dog. We were refused service and even told we could not sit outside. This was incredibly frustrating because I have always had good experiences here, however this policy is unacceptable and is incredibly illegal. Shame on the owner

Great little Mexican restaurant we found. The complimentary chips and salsa are good but even better when you get the cheese dip. I tried the grilled shrimp quesadilla and it had 9 shrimp in it !!! The burritos are big so have an appetite if you order one. The La Hacienda nachos are freaking huge as well, but enough for 3 people to share. Will be eating here next time I'm in the area.

  • Jim Bynum

Nicely appointed, clean restaurant with good Mexican food & friendly service. The chips & salsa are exceptionally good! The staff could be more sensitive to the noise level, the music is too loud if you have difficulty talking with friends across the table. Or there could have a table that's away from the music. A loud restaurant eventually keeps us from coming back.

  • Stephanie Snell

The restaurant has great food! Go on in and look at the menu. The restaurant does have restrooms and handicapped parking. If you park in the front of the restaurant be aware that traffic makes the turn into the parking lot close to the restaurant. Delivery is available. Go and check it out.

Service is always acceptable but the food is awful. No flavor, no spice, bland and boring and portions greatly vary depending on when you visit. We have tried the fajitas (worst I've ever had). My boyfriend tried the chimichanga once and the meat tasted old and bad, when we told the waiter he just shrugged. Since we're local we tried it twice but never again!

My wife and I visited Nashville this weekend as a fun, yet short vacation. After enjoying the massive Nashville Zoo and the remarkable Parthenon, we decided to visit someplace close to our hotel for dinner. La Hacienda has a festive atmosphere, delightful staff, and delicious food! I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!

  • Scott Miller

I was very excited to know there was a La Hacienda here when I moved out. The food was good, waitress was nice, but I will never return to this restaurant again. There were some very obnoxious customers a couple tables away from us that the staff was not able to control. The fact that they allow that behavior at their establishment is sad.

  • Princess Warrior

Dark inside, looks run down. Service was good. Just not fond of the food. I know appearance should not count in Mexican, but nah. Guess my taste buds didn't like the spices here. Enchiladas were too spicy. Rice wasn't that great. Don't let that stop you, it's a favorite among the locals tho. They have patio outside, summer too hot.

  • Jessica Williams

Great place to head after a day at the lake. High sodium and high calories but they don’t skip on the cheese! Fast and friendly service. There are usually loud patrons drinking pitchers of margaritas so I wouldn’t say dinners are super family friendly.

Wow! The reviewers are mighty rough around here! The food and service was and is always fine. La Ha is typical for good Mexican served anywhere in the Southeast. I'm originally from New Mexico, so no Mexican cuisine restaurants around here will ever make me deliriously happy... but the food is just fine for local palates.

Love this place and the server Juan is THE BEST!!! I usually go for the nachos - so yummy! And their pina coladas are amazing Beef tacos, rice, beans, tilapia plate and shrimp are all really good too. So happy we found this place! We moved here from San Antonio 2 years ago and this is the best Mexican restaurant! …

  • Adam Jensen

Have been eating her for years, and the food has always been good. I love their dish that comes with 3 different enchiladas! Also, if you're wondering how they make their cheese dip - they don't. They just heat up a container of Gordo's cheese dip, which you can conviently buy at the Food Lion which is right next door.

  • Lady Everglot

It's okay for what it is, I've had better "Mexican" food from non mexican food places. Cant say I'm a fan of the staff either. But again it's just plain OK for what it is. I personally go elsewhere to get mexican food. Their drinks however are amazing. I'd come here anytime just for their drinks over any other place.

Nothing really had that seasoning that would make it interesting or even Mexican food. Very bland, and very salty, typical of the chef not doing a line check. Good service and variety of things to choose from. I had #11 on the combo meals. Maybe people just don't know anybody and give 5 Starr's, barley worth 3

The furniture was real old specially the hideaway bed/couch it was stained and wore out. I would'nt if set on it much less slept on it. The bed cover was thin and wore out. The spa tub jets were wore out didn't work properly. It was costly for a room that needed to be totally updated.

This is our go-to weekly in the summer. The staff has been super friendly and the food is always good. One interesting thing is they offer steamed veggies. Haven't seen that in a Mexican food restaurant before. So, if you're needing some extra healthy with your meal, you got it.

Pretty much your average Mexican restaurant in Nashville. Food is good and portions are plentiful. I've had the grilled Chicken and it was delicious each time. Queso is good, nothing spectacular, but again, delicious none the less. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.

Food is delicious, service was spot on and the margaritas are tasty. We had the pollo hawaino and the fried jalapenos, so good! The jalapenos just added another level of flavor to our food. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff super friendly too

I love this restaurant. I go at least once a week, usually for take out. The food is always great. The servers are really great especially the guy servers they're very friendly and always recognize us and talk to us. We don't get our Mexican food anywhere else.

  • Jahayra Rivera-Gotay

I don’t usually write reviews. I had authentic Mexican food and this is not it. The tacos were soggy, sopa was basically water, salsa tasted straight pregó tomato sauce, and I found hair in my food more than twice. Save your money and eat somewhere else please.

  • Robert Simpson

Food is great. The chips served with the salsa were fresh and hot as was the salsa. I had the lunch special chimichunga with chicken that came with refried beans, rice and lettuce with pico de gallo and guacamole. Service is excellent and the price was good.

We love La Hacienda! We carry in regularly for our Mex-fix. It's always good! Much better than all in this area. The veggie quesadilla has grilled broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onion, pepper & more! Chalupas are also a fave. Good family owned restaurant!

Waited for a long while to be addressed by wait staff, she was not attentive at all, even though it was slow. Food was bland, No flavor. Not many choices in this area for good mexican but I would drive the extra 10 miles for better meal and hospitality.

Pretty damn good. The service was what stood out the most. Not many restaurants have servers that frequently asks how you are. Usually I'm left to my own demise for a while. And have to resort on calling. But not this restaurant. Good food as well!

Delicious food, fun atmosphere and good value for the money. Plates are not expensive ($8-13) and portions are great. The salsa is tasty too! Will definitely go again :)

Ordered black beans, got refried. Then they told me they don't have black beans. The girl announcing trivia questions was rather annoying. Our server was on point though. I've also had better Mexican food. Not too shabby I suppose.

They did mess up my delivery order, but they made up for it. Super nice and respectful! Food is amazing and they are very friendly. I would recommend!

I’ve never had anything that I didn’t like. I usually order the Pollo Hawaiiano This time I had the Pollo Poblano. Both dishes are really good.

Fast friendly service. Not gonna knock the food cause most people around here probably love it. I will say it was served quick and hot. Also asked for extra hot salsa and they brought it and it was HOT just like I like it.

The food was good, but I would have preferred a bit more spice.

Food was amazing, friendly and accurate staff. The Restaurant was very clean and smelled great. We had a very good experience for Sunday lunch. Many delicious options I had fajita jalisco my boyfriend had chorio pollo.

Food is good, but service could use a boost. I do not like having to find our server to get assistance. This place gets only two stars because of him. I won't be coming back here the next time I am in Nashville.

This is the best tasting Mexican we have found since we moved to the area. They have a large menu with a unique selection and host game nights every once in a while! Also have a very nice outdoor patio section.

  • Phillip Rader

Some of the best hospitality I have ever received at a restaurant. Seriously so nice. Get the authentic tacos. They brought out fried jalapenos. Never had those before and loved them. Love sitting out back.

Stopped here because it’s close to my apartment and loved it!!! The margaritas are and their food is cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend checking this place out for a good Mexican meal. …

Delicious food, friendly/polite staff and on the way out their (manager? owner?) stopped to talk to my seven year old son, gave him gum and taught him three Spanish words. We'll definitely be back!

I ordered with Uber eats. I got the Arroz Con Pollo. It’s SUPER salty. Every bite tasted like a spoon full of salt. It looked & smelled great though

I ordered the Chile Relleno which was delicious. The house margarita was weak. I had to order a top shelf margarita for a decent drink. Overall great meal and experience on the patio.

We always have a good time here. Prices are great and the staff is always so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend for either a quick bite or a casual dinner night.

GREAT service though the food was somewhat mediocre. I had a tamale and a tosdaquac (sp?) with ground beef. Not bad but the ground beef had no flavor. I liked the tamale though.
