Wow. Pastries, drinks, service, environment, vibes are all 10/10. I often visit their stall at the farmers market and went to their old location once or twice, but it took way too long to come to this new space. It's amazing! I wish I lived in the neighborhood so I could get over there all the time to hang out and eat amazing treats in a welcoming environment ran by great people. This will be the place I think of when people ask for a great cafe or bakery to go to when in town or wanting to meet up with a friend. The staff at the front counter were so nice and friendly gave us great recommendations. I didn't expect there to be so many options! I got the smoked olive danish (I love savory pastries) and it was incredible. The flavors were so well balanced, the olives, whipped cheese, and light crunch of the pastry- ugh it was so good and it all felt so elevated. My partner got a pumpkin cream croissant and we both loved it. Not too sweet with a more complex flavor than just a classic pumpkin dessert. The pastry base itself is the perfect vehicle for all the flavors and clearly they've mastered their recipe. I also got the elderberry palmer and it was lovely. And to top it all off, the owner is so kind and friendly. He made the whole experience seem so special by coming out to check on us and clear our plates himself as if we were at a fancy restaurant. I'm so glad he chose to open up this amazing space in Salt Lake and make it so accessible and welcoming to everyone.

You're welcomed by the sweet aroma as you step up the stairs into the bakery. The whole area is open and set up with a long ten top in the back, and several smaller 2-4 top tables lining the front and side. There is also a beautiful corner of sofas and chairs that get bathed in beautiful light! Lots of plants! A decadent arrangement of pastries greet you at the front counter along with coffee. Try something new or stick to something simple, our choices were the Spinach and Artichoke Danish and the croissant filled with pumpkin. A beautiful addition to the city and a must during the incoming colder weather for a delight along the way!

Delicious, stunning pastries! I eagerly visited the for the first time on Easter and was excited by how beautiful everything looked when I walked in. The croissant was HUGE and perfectly made. But, the favorites of my group were the chocolate-almond croissant and the Easter special (the cronut with pistachio and strawberry). The outside of the former was shatteringly crisp (likely thanks to the double bake) and the flavor was incredible -- I always have trouble choosing between almond and chocolate so having a combo was a dream for me. The donut was the first thing I've had this year that's made me think "spring!". The pistachio pastry cream was a standout. Also, the women working when I visited were incredibly friendly and helpful! Loved their energy. This place is a must-visit! I can't wait to return.

Good bakery, but terrible cafe. Cold industrial decor in repurposed warehouse - we kept our coats and scarves on the whole time. INSIDE! Got there at mid-morning expecting brunch, but ummm, not really a brunch place? Slim selection of huge sweet lovely pastries and only 3 savory options by 10:30am. Very delicious coffee. Next time I'll know to grab-n-go early in the day with croissant and coffee. Just thought it was more of a sit-down place, but it's definitely not. I will be dreaming about that cinnamon bun, though... Magnificent!

Forty Three Bakery is that place! My mother has been a loyal customer since their last shop, and we were thrilled to learn they would open a brick-and-mortar on the west side of SLC. Fun fact: we were second in line on opening day and proud we could be there on such an important date for this locally-owned bakery in SLC! My mother loves their baked goods and coffee (I cannot eat wheat or dairy, so I, unfortunately, can only indulge in the great aromas of the bakery, but I at least can have their delicious oat milk lattes!). I highly recommend them and cannot wait to spend more time at this location, enjoying the great ambiance and goodies Forty Three Bakery offers.

WOW! I can’t get enough of this place! I’ve tried the raspberry cream cheese, huckleberry ricotta, onion & brie, & egg/breakfast danish & they have ALL exceeded my expectations. I enjoy that the sweet danishes aren’t too sweet, but still satisfy that sweet tooth. The savory danishes have such incredible flavor & will comfort every bit of your carby/cheesy craving. I would also like to add that the owner is so wonderful! Fantastic customer service & I will forever support a local business who stands up for what is right. Always appreciate their openness when it comes to politics & human rights!

One of my favorite bakeries in Salt Lake City! Forty Three Bakery is located in ComComKitchen near the Ballpark. Local foodies posted about Forty Three Bakery’s Easter specials so you know I had to stop by. I chose their special Strawberry Pistachio Croissant Donut. It looked so beautiful and tasted amazing - sweet, fruity, and fluffy. Forty Three Bakery has converted me to a croissant donut fan! Their staff is quick, kind, and happy to help. I’m excited to see how their bakery grows in the future; I believe they’re moving to a forever home soon and I can’t wait to support them there!

I had the BEST bagel w/tomato I have EVER had. Like EVER. Maybe it was because I hadn't eaten today (though I doubt it) it was a life altering experience. Everything I've ever had there is delicious and I absolutely adore the customer service experience and the company's mission to inclusiveness. If you want to support a delicious small business that supports inclusivity and diversity, you really need to go here. Also, I saw they sell gift cards! So perfect for the holiday season y'all! I'll be picking some up as gifts because who doesn't love carbs?

  • Seth Quinones

Cool modern industrial vibe. It was way bigger then I imagined. Not the cozy type, but the staff was really friendly even though I came in right when they opened. The pastry with mushrooms and cream cheese on a croissant base was a surprisingly good recommendation from the staff. The donut (not what they call it) was a little dry but full of flavor and had a nice flakey texture as you pulled it apart.

What a great find!! I was so impressed with the owner of the business. He was friendly and helpful and made me feel so welcome in his bakery. I tried five different pastries and they were all fantastic. The savory pastries made a great lunch. The ingredients were top quality and so flavorful. The desert pastries were yummy and had lots of fruit and cream cheese and the pecan roll...wow. I highly recommend this bakery, there is something for everyone. When you buy 6 it is roughly 4.00 a piece and one savory is a meal in itself.

Just stumbled across this gem of a place and not only was I drawn in by the waft of cinnamon, butter, and heaven, but Madison greeted me with the warmest, sweetest smile that somehow just made me feel that everything would be okay. It’s HARD to find food establishments in Utah that make you feel welcomed, like you belong, all while slinging delicious food. Don’t walk, run here to experience authenticity, support small businesses, and get a glimpse of the warm hospitality that 43 Bakery supplies! Thanks Madison!

Powdered Croissant Donut.... I have been searching for the perfect donut since the perfect donut was my only craving during my first pregnancy (7 years ago!!!) FINALLY I HAVE FOUND IT! It's light and sweet and as others have said about everything else,, FRESH!! It's definitely not too sweet and literally melts in your mouth. If you're not here for the donut review, their mission statement alone will make you want to pay a visit. Genuine good people, definitely good food! Tell your friends !!

  • Andrew H

Streusel is a small shop that has a few pastries and some cake slices for normal purchase without a custom order. Many of the pastries are based on croissant dough with the airy layers they provide. I picked up a cinnamon sugar croissant donut and a berry Danish. The donut was good and had a churro like flavor to it. The Danish middle was good but did not find the dough as good as other Danishes. A place that is worth a visit if you like croissants, but there are better pastry shops around.

  • Liana Hill

The. Best. Bakery. Hands down. The pastries are all amazing! Everything is so fresh and the flavors are inventive. I love that there's always something savory on the menu. The bagels and bagel sandwiches are also incredible. The texture is perfect and the sandwich combinations are unmatched. This was always my go-to whenever I needed pastries for a friend... or myself. The owners and workers all seem like amazing people. I have sadly moved out of the area, but still crave it all the time!

  • Jesseca Hallows

Not bad, but not great. I was hoping for a little more based off of the reviews. Our pastries were a little dry and tasted like they were maybe day old. The huckleberry scone was good, but same as above. It was slightly dry and tasted like it was older. My family did like the cookies. A few of them were under baked (dough in the middle still). My son and husband gave them an 8 rating. Overall, we thought it was ok. Won’t go out of our way to get it again.

  • Chelsea

I was one of the lucky ones to grab a couple Croissant Donuts from Forty Three Bakery. The line was long (so good to see) and I was worried they'd sell out before they got to me! These phenomenal donuts are made over 4 days and fried in limited quantities, so I made sure to go in early! I had the Cinnamon Sugar & Vanilla Bean glazed. Both were sooo light and flakey. Exactly what I was pictured in my head as two of my favorite foods came together.

  • Desiree

I love, love, love all these pastries! We have grabbed the seasonal croissants on Saturday mornings, shared cakes for birthdays and today I ordered 60 assorted pastries for an event I was organizing. The service and quality was simply amazing! Everyone loved them and asked where they could get more… best pastries along the Wasatch Front by far! I can’t wait until the new space is open so I have even more excuses to eat this deliciousness!!

  • TJ Dunker

Best bakery in Salt Lake City. Drop everything and go, now. Our favorites are the Pull Apart, cinnamon roll, croissant donut and the bagels. New items appear all the time so always something fun to try. Today’s visit included the pulled pork biscuits and gravy. Yum!

I've adored everything I've tried from Streusel. Consistently incredible flavors and baking. Their pastry is flaky, crisp, yet soft in all the right places, never dry or overdone. I'm a huge fruit fan, and both their raspberry and peach pastries are incredible. As Prue from the Great British Bake Off says: "It's worth the calories!" Their new storefront will be a regular stop of mine whenever I need something perfect to make my day.

  • Darlene Batatian

I’ll share my little secret with you: Streusel makes amazing pastries! Their flaky, airy streusel, donut and croissant pastry is light and has just the right crunch. I love that they have interesting savory creations, in addition to sweet combos (huckleberry and lemon!) so I can pretend I’m doing something healthy. When you wake up on a leisurely weekend and have that craving for something interesting, this is the place!

  • Whitney González Fernández

So glad to have Forty-three Bakery, its delicious treats, great coffee, and friendly staff on the west side! It's super spacious with all kinds of seating and the architecture, open kitchen, and plants make it a wonderful ambiance that keeps you coming back. WiFi is great and there is plenty of free parking in the lot and on the street. I also love how close it is to the 9-line trail, community garden, and bike park.

  • Laura Wolinsky

The only bagels worth eating in SLC!! I have searched for a decent bagel in Utah for 3 years and finally found Streusel. They are just like the ones back in NYC, and the owner told us about how he took a trip to New York just to research bagel making. Streusel is right inside Comcom Kitchen, which is marked with a sign that says “Marisa’s Market”. The owner is so nice and talented, and deserves a line out the door!

  • simone tabbitha

This place is the real deal. Unlike so much of American food - the pastries are not just pumped with sugar salt and fat to create flavour. Perfectly balanced and quality flavour. And the space itself is stunning. A new favourite for me!!! Update - back again and tried the chocolate almond croissant. Delicious! I’ll work my way through all - sweet and savoury!

Such an amazing bakery! We were blown away by their bagels and the maple cronut. Their prices are also amazing and the girl working at the counter was so friendly. We have been going to the same bagel place for years and we are now switching to Streusel. We loved their everything bagel and jalapeño cheddar. They are located in a building with my other restaurants but just look for their name on the window.

  • Emily Burt

I have never had anything from Streusel that I didn’t crave the next day. I found them a few years ago at the farmers market and am so excited they have a store front! The spinach and artichoke brioche is by far my favorite but I love that they mix things up seasonally. If you’re they’re when they’re offering something peach, GET IT. You know the peaches are fresh and local and it will be heavenly.

  • Philip Fletcher

Andrew has managed to create an amazing space that is welcoming, cozy and open. While the space feels like a breathe of fresh air, the pastries are heaven. Forty Three Bakery has the best croissant donut (or cronut) in Salt Lake by far! They are also consistently changing things up with new sweet and savory goodies. 10/10 suggest a visit, and can’t wait to see what Andrew and his team do next!

  • Lillian Bobo

Super yummy pastries! I got their tomato pesto croissant and it was probably the best thing I've ever eaten. You will regret only getting one. They have mastered buttery, flaky croissants. However, I do hope one day that they can get a food warmer lamp to keep their pastries warm; their savory products are especially better enjoyed hot or warm. Still super amazing at any temperature though :)

  • Mike Martin

Cool spot that I wish I had found sooner. Spacious and clean inside. Sandwich and donut were both amazing.

Legitimately the best bakery in the city. I end up here at least once a week and have never once been disappointed. Their savory danishes are to die for and their constant rotation of delicious sweet croissants and pull-aparts are completely drool-worthy. $5 bags of day-old bagels are also a great deal when they’re available! It’s a dangerous place to live close to

It took a second to find the shop location. They share the shop and the sign isn’t huge. But the food was delicious!!! We literally bought one of everything to try! Some of the savory pastries were a little salty in my mind, but my friend thought they were amazing. The sweet pastries are very rich and perfect for sharing. I’m not sure I could finish a whole one in one sitting.

  • Shabri Patel

I visited Salt Lake City for a few days and came to this bakery twice! The pastries are delicious and they have a great variety from cronuts, danishes and pull apart breads. The service from Candice was especially amazing. She treated us so well, gave great recommendations, and checked in to make sure were enjoying everything. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area.

  • Malinda M

The Tomato Pesto Danish is unbelievably good! Best bagels I have ever had anywhere, even the east coast. Amazing croissants, both plain and filled, super tasty cakes, and the glazed pull apart is so freaking good. I love getting to try new flavors with what you can taste are quality ingredients. Incredibly friendly staff. I love love love this place.

  • Nicole Horne

It is sinful, how delicious their pastures are. I got the tomato danish and the huckleberry almond danish, and my goodness…perfection. The lamination of the pastry is incredible. The flavors are so well mixed, and the guy running it is the sweetest man ever. I would have taken a photo of the tomato danish, but it disappeared during my drive

  • Dianne Morrison

Went today for our first visit to the bakery and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful and delicious pastries. We tried the Vanilla Bean Pull Apart and the Cinnamon Sugar Croissant Donut. Both were absolutely wonderful and the only complaint I had was that they were sold out our the cinnamon rolls so I'll be back for more!

I was so excited to try this bakery. But when I tried my twice baked almond croissant; it tasted burnt. I also purchased an ameretto white chocolate coffee and it was like I received coffee from a fast food place. Very unflavored. Super sad that I had this experience.

What a delicious delight. Gorgeous, crisp pastries and really helpful and lovely service. We went with the caramelized onion with brie, the wine poached apricot and the huckleberry ricotta and jalapeño bagel. Insanely good. Like, transport me to a french patisserie good (except the service is much better at Strussel)

Everything is always fresh and delicious! There are some fun, creative and eye catching foods too! Customer service is excellent and fast! If you like to try new things, make sure to go back regularly. Andrew is always introducing a fun new menu. My personal favorite is the jalapeño bagel with cream cheese!!!

This bakery has never failed me. I come here at least 2 times a month for their croissants, croissant donuts, danishes and cake slices! Their pastries are the perfect gift & special treat. So excited for their expansion they truly deserve it! They are not stingy with their fillings/ toppings either!

  • Steven Meyer

So glad to have this on the west side! It's a beautiful establishment, with huge windows that let the sunlight in. Went in for a croissant and was given a free donut with my order. Both were incredible! But the donut was really out of this world. I've never had a donut like that. Great coffee too.

  • Kylee North

Only go if you’re ready to have your taste buds blow away. You will also find yourself making up excuses to stop by anytime they are open. The croissant-doughnuts are amazing. We have also tried all the danishes, the huckleberry danish is my favorite. Taste, texture, presentation, all perfect

  • Nikki M

Update: Back again to enjoy these amazing pastries. They’ve changed their name to Forty three bakery. Both the sweet and savory danishes and croissants were AMAZING! The raspberry pastry was delicious! Reviews from my family were that the cookies were amazing as well! Will be back for sure.

Croissant was overly salty, seemed to be missing a certain je ne sais quoi. Possibly the most disappointing pain au chocolat ever. Good structure but quite dry and severely lacking chocolate.

Best pastries in all of salt lake. This is what this city needs. Their croissant takes 4 days to make! The breakfast of champs pastry has the perfect egg on it. You won’t regret coming here!

Arguably the best patisserie in the valley. They have nailed both sweet and savory treats.

Good prices with great service. The bagels tasted great and I will be back for more.
