Awful customer service. Saved up and bought a giant model last year after being assured it would live up to my expectation and riding style. After my first two rides, I had a number of small issues like the chain snapping off, brakes completely not working and then about a month after owning it, the rear triangle part of the frame completely snapped in half, luckily not on the mountain yet. I brought it back to giant, trying to understand why on earth they would sell me such a piece of garbage. Well guess what folks, upon returning to giant after snapping the frame, the mechanic who was workin that day told me straight up; " we sold you the wrong bike for your riding style, it is not strong enough for mountain riding whether it be downhill, tech trail ect. I was absolutely shocked! So, because the giant sales representative who sold me the bike did not know much at all about mountain bikes, now all my hard earned savings ($2200) is wasted on this inferior problematic bike which the giant store WILL NOT refund me at all. They will however take it back for a small fraction of what I paid for it only to use toward an upgrade that will not be sold at a reduced price. I am stuck with this bike that pretty much needs fixing after every ride or two so obviously I do not feel safe riding it at all. It's amazing that with such a reputable name like GIANT, apparently we the customer are still just another number to these guys, another notch in that commission belt where customer service is just foreign tongue. I would strongly recomend shopping elsewhere where the representatives treat yiu like humans

I just finished building a road bike on a frame I bought at the Ottawa Giant store. I had to go into the store on Bank St. several times to buy parts and get advice. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They had great insight on what parts would work best, they provided invaluable advice on the assembly, and helped me out with the final adjustments and fit. The entire experience was excellent, I will recommend the Giant Ottawa store to all of my cycling friends looking to buy a new ride, and will certainly buy from them again in the future. April 2021 - COVID means curb side service only, but after sending in an email looking for rear derailleur hanger bolts, they suggested I come to the store with what I had. Spoke to staff at the door and waited outside, the service was fast and friendly. Continues to be a great place for bikes and service.

1. It seems like they only hire kind and attentive staff. It takes me a long time to make a decision on items over $100. So when I was looking for a bike in the $1500-$2000 range, I was paralyzed. These guys answered all my questions through emails (a lot of emails!), phone calls, and in person. It's not only that they were patient with me, it's that it didn't feel like I was doing anything for them to be impatient about. Answered every question like it was my first. [And all this through all the restrictions for covid, when they could only see customers on the sidewalk.] 2. I destroyed the presta valve on my tubeless tire and they said just to come on in. I did "come on in" and the tech fixed it and didn't charge me. And no judgement on how I destroyed it. :) 3. Also, when you buy one of their bikes you get a free annual tune-up for the life of the bike.

I was very specific in my search for a bike, and after looking for a while, I found the Giant FastRoad Advanced 1, which was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it was sold out everywhere! Luckily, Giant Ottawa had 1 left in stock, and when I called them and explained my dilemma, they made an effort to get the bike built and ready the next day so that I could drive to Ottawa to pick it up. Allen was professional, helpful, and very polite and accommodating. I appreciate the care that they took to work around my situation and have my bike ready early the next day for me to pick up. On the day of the pick up, they thoroughly went over the bike's features, adjusted it for my measurements, and helped me put it in the car. I would highly recommend Giant Ottawa to anyone. Thanks again, Allen and everyone else at Giant Ottawa! I love my new bike.

The BEST Giant dealer in the city. I had made a stop in a few years ago to look for a new full suspension bike. I spoke with Al at that time, and he gave me lots of good info, and great suggestions for what I should be riding. Unfortunately I didn't buy a bike at that time. But, because how well I was treated, and how knowledgeable they are, I decided to pick up a new Trance!!! They helped me find the proper bike for my riding style, and they set up the suspension to my weight and riding style. The staff here sure do know what they are talking about, despite what some of the other reviewers have said. They tried me on many different bikes, to show me what the features and benefits of each bike were. And finally found the exact match for me!! Thanks Giant Ottawa staff for your great service!! I'll be sure to come in for my yearly tune ups!!

I would like to add a note of appreciation for the exceptional service I received at Giant Ottawa store on Bank Street. I purchased my Cyclo-X last summer and noted problems with both disk brakes. Allan, the manager, listened and took my concerns seriously. He attempted to improve the functioning on several occasions, but this resulted in minor success. We addressed the problem once again in the Spring and after another attempt to correct the problem, it became clear that the product itself ( disc brakes) might be the cause of the malfunction. For this reason and in view of my continuing concerns, Allan replaced the whole system with an alternate product. This has corrected the problem and I want to thank Allan and his staff for providing me with such excellence customer service.

I am a beginner cyclist with no knowledge whatsoever of what kind of bike and supplies that I needed. Lino, took the time to help me figure out what my best options for me were. I had a lot of questions and insecurities, in which Lino was exceptionally patient with me. I recently also had to bring my sons bike in for repairs twice in the past 2 weeks. Both times, I was greeted promptly by staff, in both French and English. Very professional and pleasant staff. Both times I was there for repairs, the problems were taken care of within 10 min. Their rates for repairs are very reasonable as well. Overall my experience at Giant has been excellent. I would recommend highly to shop at this store.

I’ve been riding mountain bikes since the mid 80s. I’ve owned Norcos, Specialized, Trek’s and Rocky Mountain bikes over the years and the Giant Fathom II hardtail that I purchased in 2018 is by far the best. SOOO agile, light, responsive and quick in single tracks and climbs like a dream. The Staff at the Bank St store have always been professional and knowledgeable even when having to correct a subtle bottom bracket defect after I initially purchased the bike. When pandemic depleted stocks become restored I will be returning to buy a Contend road bike. I cannot recommend this company and their products more. Keep it up gang! See you on the trails. I don't normally write reviews but after the great service I received from your store and my sales rep Nic, if felt it necessary to do. I was met as soon as I entered your store by Nic and he easily answered my many questions about which bike would suit my needs. I had done a lot of research and visited other stores, but I was quickly turned off by the poor service I received. I've been out of the biking game for a while and needed real help. That wasn't the case when I entered Giant. I ended up buying the AnyRoad 1 with a ton of accessories. All your staff appeared to be very helpful with everyone that was entering the store. By far one of the best buying experiences I have ever had. When I first walked into the store I was greeted by Foster. He took the time to determine my needs and explain my options. He was very thorough with his explanations and very passionate about the brand. He turned my first bike purchase into a very stress free experience. Upon pick up of my new bike I was greeted by Tristan who took the time to explain and adjust my bike to suit my height. He very patiently showed me how to use my new clip in shoes and explained the care and maintenance of my bike. I highly recommend Giant Ottawa for your next bike purchase! We recently purchased 2 wonderful bikes from this store and was VERY impressed. I am a tough person to sell too (some people call me high maintenance) and they were VERY patient and answered all my questions. Both my husband and I were able to test drive the bikes, they addressed questions, concerns and made adjustments. I should also mention, we purchased our 2 year old son's bike here, and we have directed TONS of people to the store because it was cheaper than Canadian Tire bikes and MUCH better quality! It will be Very easy for me to re-sell it. Can't wait to go back next year and get my bike tuned (for FREE)!

I thought the bad reviews were biased, and then i walked in.... First guy was a really nice fellow helping me out as i grabbed accessories for my new bike, and offered gto look at my bike as i was having some performance issues. then some other opinionated self righteous @$$ took over (management i guess) took over inspecting my bike, called it crap (didnt buy in store) charged me (other guy said it was free as i was buying a lot of stuff) and rushed me to the counter to pay trying to get me out of the store... Oh, and they screwed up the bike! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. waste of money and they mess with your bike.

I had not really ridden a bike in over 30 years. Ordered a Giant bike last January. 8 months later took receipt of bike. Since then have had a few issues with gear shifting and front brake. Each time, I dealt with Jacob. And each time he was attentive to my problems and questions and did an amazing job with service. We communicated later by email with him asking how the bike was performing and how my rides were going. This is the kind of customer service that should be the norm in every shop. Big shout out to everyone at Giant Bike Shop on Bank Street and an extra thanks to Jacob. Be safe. See you in the spring.

The service was great from the time I walked through the front door. Staff was very attentive to my son and I. Very happy with the service my family and I received at Giant Ottawa! My two daughters were sized and fitted perfectly very nice lightweight kids bikes. My wife and I were also assisted in finding road bikes. Staff were knowledgable and were excellent with the kids. I bought my bike at Giant four years ago. Still riding the bike and thoroughly enjoying it. Their yearly tune up is a great service and if something extra has to be done on the bike, you can rely on them to do repairs. If something isn't working, they track it down and fix it. The staff is courteous and friendly. I have only good things to say about the products and service at Giant Ottawa.

Currently buying my fourth bike in 10 years from this crew and I couldn't be happier with my experience so far. Super friendly staff, always asking questions to help me find the right bike for me vs. trying to sell me the most expensive bike I could afford. Service has always been great, never any grief or hassle. Value for money, Giant MTB's are second to none.

Great products and clean store. The one knock on the experience is having to agree to a non refundable downpayment in the event that it gets delayed a year. There is also a stipulation that the price may change as we wait. Would have made more sense to guarantee the price given that we made a downpayment. Otherwise it was a great experience.

I had the best experience buying from their store. They are very informative and helpful. I had no idea what to get but the guy took his time and helped me to find what I needed. I have had Giant Ottawa as my bike dealer and service center since 2016 and have had an excellent experience with their service and price point. I bought a Defy and Talon with both bikes giving me the cycling fix I need. I highly recommend Giant Ottawa for all your cycling needs.

I really like that, when you buy a Giant bike from the store, you can have your bike tuned every year for free (labor, excludes parts). I also found the children's helmets were reasonably priced and they had a good selection for small heads. Helpful staff. It is a great store.

The Giant bicycle people were kind, pleasant and efficient. However, their service is too expensive. And when I got the refurbished bicycle back from a $175 tune up, the handlebars were not correctly aligned. We can't have widespread use of bicycles if prices are too high.

Long delays for their repair shop. Despite it being a couple months into the riding season they still have a 3 week wait for a minor tune-up. I have had major overhauls done elsewhere earlier in the season within a weeks time. They need to find a way to reduce wait times.

The best bike shop in Ottawa, no question! A great staff: knowledgeable, friendly, and an excellent service department. Bought an XTC and could not be happier with such a fantastic ride. Always extremely happy whenever I walk out of that shop. Keep up the fantastic job.

Excellent service when trying to track down a difficult to locate spoke for my wheel. They were able to order them individually, where Giant Orleans said it wasn't worth it for them unless I purchased a set of 20 spokes for over $120.

The Cyclery nearby was very busy and couldn't simply fix my brakes before one week so I went to The Giant and they fixed them immediately. The staff was very nice and they even inflated my tires. Finally, parts + services were cheap.
