I visited with a recommendation from another local plant shop that there were cool succulents and plants here. Walking in I had high hopes, as it's clear from the moment you walk in that they have a variety of plants, but my heart fell. I'm a succulent lover and most of the ones on their shelves were stretched out from lack of sunlight. Echeverias were unrecognizable. The venue has "trendy" industrial/Edison style bulbs in low warm lighting and large windows, but a terrible location to get natural light except at limited times of day when the sun peaks through other buildings. I bought a "string of buttons" for $13 that was so stretched and wilted it was nearly unrecognizable. A random colorful leafy plant labeled "assorted foliage" $7 and a little tiny flower pot of 2" for $6. The prices are average for plants, but I didnt bother looking at any other overpriced pots and accessories since they had a fake stuffed bear for sale over $4k. This store is obviously a trendy upscale store, many things were pretty and caught my eye, but I came for plants. I was massively disappointed in the treatment of their plants and the negligent care; I had to pick through the plants to try and find a healthy string of buttons that wasn't wilted or dying of obvious root rot. When asking friends and FB groups for care advice, many remarked my plant looked like an ice plant because it was so sad, wilted, and stretched out. I hope all 3 of the plants I bought thrive and survive despite the condition I brought them home in. I gave this store 2 stars because it has potential. Right now their focus doesn't seem to be on their plants, but the other more expensive accessories and clothes that they sell. The lighting needs to be fixed. Plants need grow lights if you can't give them enough natural light. Some plants are over watered and clearly dying or suffering from root rot. The employees seemed nice, but I didnt want to say anything to them about it. The pictures attached are a couple days of full sun later, allowing the soil to completely dry and the plant to recover. The brown wilted growths may recover, but they're a sign of over watering and lack of sunlight. It is so droopy, but this is perky compared to when I brought it home a few days ago. I included a photo of what the crassula marginalis rubra variegata should look like, mislabeled as a "string of buttons," compared to how stretched, sad, and droopy it is.

Was in Seattle over this past weekend for a concert, and also happened to be in search of a pair of some high end raw selvedge denim. Did a little looking and asking around when I got there, and saw that this shop (Glasswing) seemed like the place for what I had in mind, and so I checked it out. It was 110% worth it, and I can confidently say it was the best clothing shopping related experience I’ve ever had. I went in and chatted to who was either the manager or an employee there, to be honest I wasn’t really sure, but I explained what I was looking for and got ready to go try them on. Before that though, he offered to let me try on some other items I was looking at. Given the inventory here being quite high end and priced accordingly, I explained that I couldn’t really afford to spend much more than what the jeans cost, and regardless, he offered to let me try on multiple t shirts and jackets to see how the jeans looked with other pieces. He was so incredibly helpful and let me try on some gorgeous Kapital jackets with the jeans and it made for a very pleasant afternoon. I ended up getting the jeans and they are breaking in very well. Whoever was in the brown v neck sweater and baggy black slacks on Friday afternoon, if you happen to read this, thank you again, you rock and so does Glasswing.

This is a beautiful shop to be ignored at. I had my eye on a Kapital jacket, but since sizing tends to be hit or miss with Japanese designers, I thought it would be a great idea to go into the store before committing. Upon arrival, the only person to greet me wasn’t a person, but a dog. As I walked around the store, every employee dodged eye contact with me yet managed to be right behind me as I touched and moved through racks of clothing (they were not short staffed, there were only two other people shopping, and the store isn’t large). Not one person asked if I needed help, said a word to me the entire time, or even cracked a half smile and instead showed their disdain with their body language. I came prepared to buy a jacket (marked-up at a premium) and would have loved to have supported a local business, but I will purchase from another shop instead. It’s very difficult to spend a lot of money somewhere you don’t feel welcome at and luckily the jacket I’m interested in is sold at other shops. I recommend Cotton Sheep in San Francisco and Blue Button Shop in Toronto for the same and similar brands, but with much better and friendlier customer service and fast shipping.

When I first visited, I really appreciated the beautiful interior and plant selection. However, one of the store associates made me feel very uncomfortable. He excessively followed me around the store and kept trying to talk to me. It was very uncomfortable and felt like he was trying to keep tabs on me. There were a few other customers in the store but no one seemed to be bothering them. I was dressed a little schlubby that day and granted this is a boutique shop, but I've never felt more uncomfortable in a store in cap hill. Not sure if he still works there, but hoping this was a one-off experience.

"Glasswing" is an absolute gem in the world of online clothing boutiques! Their collection, featuring a harmonious blend of style and comfort, is a testament to fashion excellence. Browsing through their website is a delightful journey, making the art of clothing shopping a breeze. Apart from their diverse selection, their customer service is truly exceptional, setting a new standard for satisfaction. Really really cool, eclectic blend of brands. I try to pop in quarterly, and I always run into Forrest, one of the owners. Every time he sees me, he remembers what I've bought before all the way back to the very first time I was in the shop. He never gives me the hard sell. Instead, we have really good conversations about the pieces, and in a really easy, gentle way, he helps me push outside what I might normally try, which has led to some nice surprises for me. Get the full experience by stopping by the greenhouse down the way, too.

Alisa and Forest (Glasswing's owners) are wonderfully creative and community-minded powerhouses! Their original store (Glasswing Shop) and their new plant store (Glasswing Greenhouse) are meticulously designed and curated. They hold regular workshops and events that support small businesses and artists which are great for anyone looking to learn a new creative skill. I recommend getting on their mailing list or follow them on social media to be alerted to their next event!

Glasswing features an assortment of plants, gifts, and clothing items in a millennial boutique off of Melrose. Prices are so absurdly high that you’ll probably have a hard time even imaging their target clientele. Still, if you’re ever in the mood to drop $70 on a small cactus or bandana, skip the Instagram drop-shippers and instead hand your Amazon paycheck straight to the hipster bourgeoisie. I guess the customer service is pretty good, though?

Excellent selection of clothes, brands and things for the home. We were visiting Seattle from NYC for the long weekend and hands down this was the best shop in the whole city. They were also really friendly despite the fact we had actually gone in at closing time (not knowingly) and still they gave us time to browse and really treated us very well. I would definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone when in Seattle.

Amazing shop with a generous promotional code on first orders. Just recently purchased an Evan Kinori x LWC crewneck, and my order was shipped promptly in a fully recyclable mailer with a hand-signed receipt. Glasswing carries a curated variety and cares deeply about it's patrons. A wonderful place to treat yourself to something elegant. Hope to someday visit the shop in-person.

The price point is on the aggressive side but they compensate by having a unique selection for Seattle standards. Given the strong affinity for practical outdoor (ideally already pre-owned by someone else) clothes among local dwellers, finding minimalist picks from Japan or Norway can be a bit challenging. Hence I appreciate Glasswing quite a bit. Hope it stays for a while.

I often stop by when needing to purchase a gift or a plant… trying to shop local rather than online from big companies. And very often I feel like I am inconveniencing the staff. It’s the same feeling I get at Sephora where most of the staff look mad, don’t want to be there, or just not very helpful. The only great service I ever received was from Signe few years back.

  • Agnelo Ribeiro

Nicely curated shop. Clothing is pricey but the selection of house plants & succulents is worth the visit. This store is packed but neatly organized. If you like the shop Anthropologie, you'll like Glasswing's vibe. Definitely check it out. Then go up the block & get yourself an "Iced Hazelnut Bianco" at Starbucks Reserve Roastery, it's really good. :)

Stopped in here while visiting Seattle last weekend, what a lovely store with some really incredible staff. I was in while some other customers came in and it was obvious how comfortable everyone felt in the store. Thanks for the great experience, and the Bouclé sweater! Hope to see you guys again when I'm back in town.

They made a beautiful, thoughtful and unique space. That’s also how to describe their inventory of clothing. That staff is very friendly and helpful. They aren’t pushing anything. It feels more like shopping w a friend who knows a lot about fashion. Men’s or women’s, they have great clothes.

  • Anna Lima

Super unique vibe and boutique here. The clothes are a looser, boxier style and very chique. The price tag is high, but the staff is friendly and will help you find pieces that fit you perfectly. They also have an amazing plant collection for sale, pots, and jewelry to choose from.

  • Alexander Mayhew

Had questions about an item on the website and reached out over email. Alisa was so fast to respond, helpful and very friendly in answering my questions. Look forward to buying from Glasswing again as they have a beautiful clothing selection, fast shipping and great communication!

  • Erin Farmer

Very unique and "casually luxuious" collection of goods and plants in this store. They were very helpful in the purchases I made (rain coat) - and the exchanged for the size - and tehn returned because it wasn't a functional purchase for me. I will happily go back again

  • Eva Schipper

Everything in this shop is so beautiful curated and most times I go there i find the staff cold and dismissive. Last time I came in I said "have a nice afternoon!" and the woman at the front so aid "mhmm" and didn't look up.

  • Lizzy Nguyen

Absolutely love the vibes here!! I loved the variety of plants that they offered and the scented candles were sooo calming. The scent in the store was also very therapeutic and chill. Definitely stop on by for a look :)

  • Dina Akter

I can't say enough about the staff working here!! They were super helpful. They didn't have my size in store but went above and beyond to get the product I wanted. The store is so cute and well organized!!

Awesome store, beautiful interior and location by The Hill. Amazing selection of products from Norse Project to Poler Stuff. Nicest owners and workers, talk to them, you might learn something.

I came in looking for a unique dress for a vineyard wedding. I was immediately greeted and helped at the door. I had great conversations with the employees while finding the perfect dress!

Absolutely loved this shop! Loved the plants, clothing and bags, candles, coffee mugs. Friendly staff. Vibe was amazing! They need to open more shops in the PNW! Can’t wait to go back.
