Memorial dedicated to HMAS Parramatta (1) which was built in 1910. This site is on the north bank of the Parramatta River close to the Parramatta Wharf. HMAS Parramatta (1) was one of six River Class torpedo boat destroyers built for the Royal Australian Navy during the period 1909-16. During World War I they formed the Australian Destroyer Flotilla

Located 200 metres to the east of the Memorial is another memorial that was erected on the 7th May 1995. Surrounded by four Parramatta Red Gum trees that were planted to commemorate the end of World War II. The memorial remembers the 138 men who lost their lives when HMAS Parramatta II was sunk by a German torpedo near the Libyan coast on the 27th November 1941.

This is a Memorial to HMAS Paramatta - the first ship built for the Commonwealth Naval Forces in 1910. The real stern of the ship is actually on this site and it really allows one to connect to that peace of history. You can read more about the ship on the display board.

Name of this building is Ellangowan. Tara's Junior School remained at Ellangowan until it was officially opened at Masons Drive on 14 November 1970.

A remnant of H.M.A.S. Parramatta overlooking the river, there's a bench within the Memorial which allows you to read so much history about its significance and its purpose in the War. A strong-looking memorial on the riverbank.

There isn't much to review here lol, it is informative about the history which is cool and it's a good spot to chill out or take some photos of you want, it would be nice if Parra river wasn't the gross colour that it is

Nice walk by the Parramatta River. The place has been really cleaned up and it's next to the ferry wharf . Good place for a sit down and looking at the river while having a sandwich.
