I ended up at Half Moon towards the end of a whirlwind bar tour. Having never been here before, I didn't know what to expect. I had only driven by during the day, and you can never get a feel for a bar when it is light out. Others have described this as a dive, but I didn't get that vibe. It could have been that it was very late and the place was kind of dead. There were no pool players and only a few people at the bar. There was a divey moment where two customers started an impromptu dance/argument, but it ended amicably. The bar seemed too well lit to be a dive, but we did drink high life. I guess I am 50/50 on the dive bar/neighborhood bar ratio. I think I will require further study before making a final determination. In summary, high life was reasonable, fairly well lit and may be a dive.

I placed an order for delivery when my order arrived it was wrong I called the store to let them know what happened they offered to send someone to pick up my food and I had to wait another 2 hours for food instead of them bringing out the new order and pick up the old one then I asked to speak to a manager the guy refuse to let me speak to a manager he was very disrespectful over the phone maybe he didn't wanna be at work tonight which September 1, 2015 my fries was cold when they arrived and burger was half done

This was a great place to stop by! Finding where to order food was a bit confusing but easy enough to figure out once someone told my partner and I where to go. They’re dog friendly and will let you walk through the bar with your furry friend to get to their back patio. It wasn’t super busy so we didn’t have to wait for our food for long. The Alligator pizza was a hit per my partner and I enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich.

This is definitely some of the best pizza I've ever put in my mouth. I've been on a kick of trying pizza places around the city and this is my new favorite. The meat pizza was absolutely delicious and so was the margarita. You can tell the pizza is fresh and made with good ingredients. The 10in is great for one person(with a snack later) and the 16in I would say could feed 3-4. I'm definitely going back to this place.

Friendly staff and pretty good bar/delivery food in the Lower Garden District. Not elevated bar fare by any stretch of the imagination, It's simply a neighborhood joint that looks a little divey, but it's really not. I do agree with another reviewer who remarked that the restrooms are nasty; but no more so than a lot of more popular – and high profile – New Orleans bars and restaurants that cater to this demographic.

Pizza, cheese sticks, boudin balls, boudin rolls, meat pies, and pork rinds. (pizza and sampler). Purchased through Über Eats. Quick delivery. Everything was great, but the pork rinds WERE AMAZING!! I can’t stress this enough- I’m not necessarily a pork rind kinda person, but these were crazy good with some NOLA Blonde Ale.

Bar in the garden district with some arcade games and indoor seating and outdoor seating. If you go all the way to the back there is a kitchen that you can order food from. Honestly the food hit the spot at midnight! They even offer a take out option. I can’t wait to try more food from this place they are also open late.

This place has definite dive bar vibes but is big. It has a few games there too like giant connect four. The restaurant/food area is separate from the bar which I am finding is very common in Nola, so you do have to order food & drinks in separate places. I did order my burger bun less so it looks like a hot mess in the photo but it was a good burger. Very much a locals vibe bar.

The spiritual center of the Lower Garden District this is been around for a long time. Legendary Pizza Mogul Haluk Dogru is the owner and now operates a kitchen out of the back of the place. He maintains the neon sign that has been there since the Second World War. This is an absolutely perfect place to meet up with old Chums get some beers, watch a game etcetera.

Tammie, the manager and HBIC, is phenomenal. I don't know if I would spend as much time there if it weren't for her. Great daily beer specials. they have seasonal drinks too. Skeeball tables, pool tables, and dart boards. Patio out back with fans for those warmer summer days. Plenty of tvs and the NFL ticket for all the games. Kitchen is reopened and quite tasty!

Great bar at the end of magazine. This section of magazine is not my favorite, but I've ended up here many of times. Large open room when you enter but they have little pockets where you can hang with smaller groups without too many people around you. They have some games and you will always run into a character there.

This place is only a bar that serves food. It does not have hostess's or waiters. The place is filled with smoke. The lighting is poor with grime everywhere. The bathrooms are dirty and you can walk by and see the males peeing. If ur down for beer head on in. if u want food go across the street to roma cafe. That place was clean and good

Just around the corner from my neighborhood. Visited by lots of locals. Mike the bartender is pretty cool. They have good prices on drinks. The space us pretty big. Outdoor and a patio sitting as well. There are 2 pool tables, skyy ball and some arcade games. Kitchen is about to reopen I think. Lots of free parking around the corner.

Def a good to bar. Laid back and the bartender is super funny. Think his name was Mike. We ended up there almost every night we stayed in New Orleans

It's a great neighborhood bar. Prices are moderate not too expensive. The service is good, the environments good the atmosphere is nice. It is a big spacious bar and smoking is convenient right outside the door there are tables you can sit at have a cigarette while drinking. Perfect place to gather with friends.

Whoever has taken over the kitchen here seriously knows how to cook. I've eaten here twice in the last month and food has been on point both times. The chicken sliders are especially amazing and so is the hummus. Always a super chill spot to hang, food makes it that much better.

Called within normal delivery time and hours of operation. Couldn't get an answer from the main line or bar. Attempted to call several times to no avail. Wish i could actually give more stars based on an experience, but since no one would answer, no experience here.

I used to order delivery from here fairly regularly, and it was always pretty decent. Lately their phone number doesn't seem to work anymore. Calling either number listed just ends up ringing indefinitely, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Similar experience as the last person who wrote a review. I work night shift at a local hospital and we used to order a lot, but now every time we try to order the phone just rings and rings. They're losing a lot of business from us.

One of my fav uptown bars , they have great food , great games "skeetball" "darts" , awesome pizza , they have a ton of great food, separate bar.area , smokers can chill on the back patio. Lots of seating , friendly atmosphere.

Ok so this place rocks! It’s not the cheapest place or the most expensive place but man is it great food. My family and I ordered the swamp sandwich, swamp nachos, meat pie and dessert. It was so good and the food was fast.

Favourite bar in the whole of New Orleans. Saw a cockroach there the other night. It had a whiskey and dry. Seemed happy to be there. What a great night. My partner and I both love the relaxed vibes and good service.

This place has great burgers and the best philly cheeses steak I've ever had. The Northern Philly is really good and comes with ranch dressing but I prefer the Southern Philly which is topped with peppers.

The food here is excellent. Contrary to what some reviewers have posted, the Half Moon does serve food (the grill is hidden in the very back, and usually does not open until 9pm). Service is exemplary.

A good selection of beer, with daily specials, and the kitchen is open late. Thick, tasty burgers made-to-order and generously loaded pizza, even with pineapple if you're into that kind of voodoo.

I was 7 years old my daddy use to take me to the half moon. To eat raw oysters times changes but it is real nice that someone keep it open I have been there since love the place …

Best dive bar in the city. Rough around the edges, full of grimy locals, cheap drinks. Just the way I like it. Literally no frills. None. But they do have a TouchTunes jukebox which is cool.

The most wonderful bar staff and a great place to watch football games. I will except no substitute. I just love the place! Drink specials, plenty of seating, option for food. Great menu

I highly recommend this bar but an old lady smoked an entire pack of Marlboro Reds in front of me and she started to throw up. Really put a damper on the evening. Cheap beer tho

Bartender wasn't very friendly, hamburger was burnt ,fries was way too salty and the cheese they put on our nachos wasn't nacho cheese. When cooled it was like rubber

I wish I could give this a zero. I ordered and an hour later nothing was delivered with no answer to the phone, no nothing, just money taken and an empty belly.

Good staff, Open atmosphere, video poker, ski ball, outside smoke/eat patio... Not much more you could ask for in a classic Nola dive bar. Love this place!

The patio has great murals, and the neighborhood cats stop by for pets. You really can't beat having a beer under blue skies while a kitty nuzzles your leg
