TLDR: Been to Intown twice for a rear tire replacement and then for a bike tune-up. After both visits, the brakes were rubbing against the wheel (without pulling the brake handle) so I had to personally readjust them. I don't perform bike maintenance myself because I want to make sure everything is done correctly. I know they did a poor job with my brakes because the issues were obvious, but I am still not confident enough in my abilities to know that everything else was done correctly. I will be taking my bike somewhere else soon to make sure it is at least safe to ride. In two separate visits, I had my rear tire replaced (flat from a puncture) and paid for the tune-up package (includes adjusting the gears, brakes, and bearings; truing the wheels; checking all the nuts and bolts; external lube; and a wipe down). After I had my tire replaced, I had to personally readjust the rear brakes because they were sticking against the wheel (brakes rubbing wheel without pulling brake handle). This was irritating and inconvenient but not worth driving back to the shop. As for the tune-up package, my experience was bad enough where I will likely not be returning to Intown for any future products or services. I dropped my bike off on a Friday and came back in to pick it up 10 days later on a Monday. I was out of town for those 10 days, so the extended time was due to my inability to pick it up sooner. However, when I arrived on Monday to pick up my bike, they informed me that not only had my bike not been serviced yet but also they didn't have it in their computer system because it had malfunctioned recently. They informed me that they would start the tune-up immediately and it should be done by the end of the day. While I understand that computer issues are unavoidable and mistakes happen, I ride my bike to work every day because I cannot afford a parking pass at my place of employment, so this was incredibly inconvenient for me. To Intown Bicycles credit, they finished the service on my bike in 3 hours. Unfortunately, upon inspecting my bike when I returned back home, I found that the brakes on both wheels were not even remotely centered (i.e. one brake pad hits the wheel much sooner than the other one) and one of the front brake pads were rubbing the wheel (without pulling brake handle). One silver lining is that I can confirm they thoroughly lubricate everything because they did a poor job wiping away excess in several places (mostly near the brakes). I acknowledge that no place is perfect; however, if I am paying money to have someone else maintenance my bike, it is to ensure that everything is done correctly. Both times I paid for a service at Intown Bicycles, they did a bad job specifically with my brakes. I will not be returning.

I ended up going to Intown Bicycles just because it was closest. I had intended on checking out a couple of other bike shops but honestly from the moment I got there I was impressed with everything about the place. Mike was a person I met with at the beginning. He spent about an hour with me going over different bikes and sharing all of his experience and advice to help me pick out the right bike. What I enjoyed is that I could tell he was interested more so in me getting me on the right bike versus trying to upsell to the most expensive bikes. I went back a couple times just to make sure that I was sure of which bike I wanted to get and each person I walked to was very helpful. Even after the purchase when they assembled the bike and got it all ready to go, the service guy (Craig) spent another 30 minutes with me making sure I was comfortable with everything before I left. Excellent customer service all the way around. And as far as pricing, I looked all over online to compare prices online at other locations with Intown prices. Intown was right in line with everyone else in the pricing. Even a few dollars less than many places. And what's great is the free tune up for 6 months. I can only speak about my experience at this particular shop but I would highly recommend anyone looking ITP to drop in.

In the age of Covid-19, I understand that businesses are having to adapt to the ever changing times. However, providing exceptional customer service is what creates return customers and positive reviews. My experience was less than 1 star. I was referred there by a friend, so I went on Sunday, had to call in to speak to someone, after several attempts, I was finally able to speak with Logan. The bike I decided on was not built yet. About 30 minutes after leaving, Logan called and said it was built, and I could stop by and see it. I arrived back out front about 30 minutes later, and called in. Again after 9 attempts to reach someone, (Mike) answered, and was extremely rude and argumentative. I asked to speak to Logan, in the red shirt, and Mike said in a very condescending manner, "I am in a red shirt." I was so irritated that I said I would just call back and speak with Logan. So I did...and Logan informed me the bike he called me about 45 minutes prior was sold. If that's the case, why didn't anyone call me to tell me the bike I was interested in was sold? I feel I would receive better customer at Walmart then this store.

I've taken two bikes here now and I had a really good experience both times. I took a bike there after a minor accident for a crash inspection, and they only charged $35 for the inspection and deducted any repairs and maintenance from that fee. When I got my bike back I also noticed that they had adjusted the brakes and lubed the chain, two things that I assume weren't part of the crash inspection but were great customer service. I took another bike there that needed significant repairs, and they were really thorough and charged a fair price for the amount of work it needed. They were also thoughtful and checked in a couple times about repairs and trying to manage the cost. Overall I was really pleased with both the work and the service, and I would definitely take a bike there in the future.

Intown Bicycles caters to commuters, enthusiasts, and athletes alike with fabulous service and remarkably friendly/knowledgeable staff. This shop is clean, organized, and provides a little bit of everything. Rita and the rest of the staff (whose names I don't yet know) are kind and work quickly. I've come in on two separate occasions—after purchasing a bike from here—and both times my bike has been serviced from start to finish in under 15 minutes. Although I'm not thrilled that I've had to go in twice to get my bike tuned up (due to no fault of the shop's, just my poor luck and foresight), it helps that the atmosphere is so pleasant. I anticipate this being the only bike shop that I'll patronize so long as I live in the area.

I love supporting this little shop and take our bikes here for servicing and anytime we need anything. Everyone is very knowledgeable and wants to promote cycling whether you're training for a race, commuting by bike, or just riding on the weekends for fun. I've never felt any pressure to buy anything, so it makes it easier to continue to support them. I do wish they had a larger selection of bikes and brands, since we're mostly a road bike family, but the brands and bikes they do carry are dependable and high quality. Highly recommend whether you want to purchase a dependable bike from Intown or if you want to purchase elsewhere and have them take care of the servicing for it.

I want to say thank you. My teen daughter came in today because the chain fell off of her bike as she was making her way to the beltline. She walked with her bike to your shop and you kindly took her bike to the back and fixed the chain for her. As a bonus, you adjusted her seat and handle bars. She didn’t expect it or ask for it, but she definitely appreciated the extra care and so did I. (Especially since this wasn’t a bike that was purchased at your shop.) I can definitely say the next time we are in the market for a new bike or a rad vintage bike like the ones you have in front of your store now, you will be my first stop. Great in town customer service!! Thanks!

  • Thai Nguyen

Super friendly shop. Yes, that means they are noob friendly as well! The person that helped me made sure that I was looking for the right bike which would fit my riding style. We tried both hybrid bikes and road bikes. I appreciate that this shop doesn't just try to sell you something expensive - they really care that you get the right bike for you. After deciding on a few potential bikes, they let you take it out for a spin around the neighborhoods. This is a good time to test how it feels and shifts. I ultimately didn't end up buying my bike here but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone because they have the best people.

This is a little late but I came about a month ago to get my bike serviced and can’t say enough good stuff. My bike was finished a few days before expected and Daniel did an amazing job! My bike runs way smoother and feels great. Daniel also went above and beyond and tightened my u-lock mount so it wouldn’t move around when I bike on bumpy roads. He also secured my little novelty bike license plate on with twist ties instead of the dinky ribbon I used when I brought it in. Can’t recommend this place enough :) plus they’ve saved me multiple times in the past when I needed random parts here and there

  • Alyssa Wells

We love Intown! I brought in an uncommon electric cargo bike to be tuned up after purchasing secondhand. The manufacturer no longer exists and a lot of parts are non-standard or aftermarket. Daniel was not phased by the challenge and jumped right in, helping me learn about the bike and the repairs/upgrades needed. Communication was great and I appreciated the itemized list of repairs. We've put about 200 miles on the bike so far and I've loved every second. Thank you so much to Daniel and team for being willing and capable of taking on an unusual bike and getting it in great condition!

  • Thien Dong

I ordered a bike online and had it delivered here for assembly. Didn't receive a reminder call on the pickup date they promised but I came by any way. Daniel and Rita were the ones helping me at the store. I'm so happy with my finished bike. They even kept all the instruction booklets and small assembly tools accompanying the bike I ordered. However, they usually have to tend to many customers at a time so there might be a bit waiting, but that's totally understandable. I also bought a lock and wanted to come back for a pump and a helmet as well!

  • FIT FANTASTIC

Their customer service is 1 of the best in all of Atlanta period. I bought an electric scooter and my back tire went out in March. Zach fixed and also hooked up the phone holder l. Fast forward to September and I needed my scooter assembly adjusted. The company I bought it from has zero customer service and doesn't reply to emails. I took it in today and in like 10 mins Tyler fixed the issue. Also the other employees that aren't helping you are very friendly. This is a store that specializes in bikes but still gave me excellent service. 10 Stars

  • Maarten De Cock

Very nice little bike shop. They have helped me out numerous times selecting parts or fixing my bike. They are always very friendly. One time, I had fixed a luggage rack to my bike at home in a sub-optimal way. Even though I was there for something else, the mechanic at the shop advised me on how to fix it better to my bike, without scratching the frame up. He even gave me the hardware required for free! I was blown away by how nice they were. (Mind you, neither the bike nor the rack was bought there, so they really went above and beyond).

  • ReallyRose

I had my trike assembled here. It was done quickly and for a reasonable price (125). While riding it home, I broke down on my newly assembled bike. :( Mike went above and beyond and came to my location within minutes in his truck. He fixed my chain issue and sent me on my way. I didn’t expect him to volunteer his services and come to my rescue. For that, I am very grateful as I just ride trikes, I even have trouble adjusting the seat lol. I will come here exclusively for any issues I have with my trike.

  • Sharon Tan

Real bike people. I had a bike accident many years ago and am too afraid to get back on the bike. Finally, I decided to get my bike checked out but was hesitant because I didn't want to get sold on the extra services that I don't need. Plus, I don't know much about bike. I gave Intown Bicycles a try and was surprised that they just charged me what the bike needed. They didn't try to sell me anything more. I had Rita, Kathy, and Daniel helped me out. I will be going back for future bike needs.

  • Johnny O'Neil

I went to replace a flat front tire. They were were very friendly and helpful. The guy who helped me made sure to let me know the inner tube i brought in had a different valve which was fine because my bike pump does both. Then he fixed my front brake for free. It's never worked so well before actually. Another place told me i just needed the brake oil. I had no idea it wasn't fixed properly. To do that for free was super kind of him. Definitely going back here.

  • Matt Schoemann

Can't speak highly enough of the customer service received here. I had a mishap with my electric bike at Piedmont with my 2yo daughter and was able to get in immediately. Kathy was extremely helpful and kind compared to service I've received at other bike shops in the area and helped try to figure out my issue immediately. Hard to find customer service like this anymore and it made a bad day so much better. Makes sense why their google rating is so high!

  • Jovan Zuniga

What an amazing little gem of a shop to find! Friendly staff that are very knowledgeable. Works hard to make sure you select the correct bike and near a great neighborhood to test drive! Easy Beltline Trail literally 2 minutes away as well as Piedmont Park. Mike and Daniel were extremely caring and helped install a kickstand and bicycle lock. Well worth the 40 minute drive to such astonishing people. Near everything cool that is Atlanta as well!!!

  • Jackson Millsaps

Thoughtful. I had a broken spoke and also needed brake-work. They had to order some brakepads for the repair, which would take a week. They told me that riding on the broken spoke might damage my awsome wheel, so they went ahead and took care of it so I could ride easy until the brakepads arrived. (The brake trouble did not pose an immediate safety hazard.) They did a good job of coordinating my repairs given that I ride to work every day.

  • Carlos Gonzalez

Poor job! The inner tube was wrongly placed, you can feel the air coming out. The brake lines were not in the right place. The tire got flat just one day after I received the bike from the shop. I paid $150 for a new wheel and tire and just one day after I checked the bike out of the shop, I noticed all these issues when I was trying to go to the park. Please pay attention to all simple details next time to provide a good quality service.

  • Richard Griffiths

The team here at Intown Bikes always has the customer in mind, whether tracking down hard to find items, or carefully solving and intricate derailleur compatability issue. I've bought four family bikes from Mike over the years; all are still on the road. One of them I used for commuting, then reconfigured for touring; Mike found the critical old-tech parts I needed. Rita always makes sure the work is done right first time. Great shop.

  • Vince Adams

They have a good team of solid mechanics. Young folks who give good advice and good service. They trued a wheel and fixed a spoke issue that others couldn't solve. And they gave measure to me one time when I came in with a flat. Their first priority seemed to be to help and solve problems. I will trust them with work in the future. In my opinion, it's unusual to find good service like what they provide.

  • Bo Stansell

I don't own a bicycle, but I had a deflated football that I wanted to throw with my friend at the park nearby. I thought they would have a compressor, so I asked if they would pump up my football for me. The woman who helped me did it no questions asked and seemed happy to do it. I may not be in the market for a bike anytime soon, but I highly recommend a business run by people like that.

  • Charles Wade

Stopped at Intown Bicycles on my recent trip home to Tennessee from Florida. Have bee wanting to take a look at the Jamis Renegade and they had some in stock. Mike is a great guy - knowledgeable about the bikes he carries and is a true bicycling enthusiast, not just a salesman. I'm truly glad I stopped there and I left with a new Jamis Renegade. Great shop, great people. Thanks Mike !

  • Evan Hamrick

I was working on my bike and ended up screwing a cable up so brought it in to Intown. Most places right now do not even take walk ups do to the extremely high demand during Covid, but they did and gave a reasonable 3-5 day range to get the work done since I was a “work-in”. Ended up being completed in 2 days. Staff was friendly and prices fair. Overall great experience!

  • Dave Barie

What an incredible diamond in the rough. The entire staff is incredible friendly and knowledgable. No pressure sales. They took the time to get my girlfriend set up with the exact bike she wanted. We didn't walk in expecting to buy anything more than a couple locks, but you can't help to want to support a shop like this to the fullest. Will definitely be returning.

  • W S

I needed an emergency repair on my disc brakes and Intown Bicycles I was able to get me going even though it was 10 minutes before closing time. I had just left the shop where I had purchased the bike and they told me there was nothing that could be done to get the bike rideable again that day. I will be using Intown Bicycles for my bikes as much as possible now.

  • Mark Vickers

I've taken my old bike in for repairs and they've always been extremely knowledgable and honest. Sold my old one and decided to get a new bike from them since I trusted them. Rather than try to upsell me Mike made sure I got the right bike for my needs and budget and I couldn't be happier. Everyone there is super friendly and I will keep coming back for repairs.

  • Ryan Hamilton

Great bike shop! Stopped here to pick up a few things and the guy who was helping me made some great recommendations. I can do most repairs myself but I would fully trust this shop to give me an accurate gauge of how worn my gears, cables, and chain are. I love that they don't try to sell you products or services that you don't need. Love Intown Bike!

  • Wes Kirkbride

Yesterday I bought my first bike (pictured) in probably twenty years. Mike and Rita have been so helpful with the sale and any questions/minor issues I’ve had. I have a new found love for biking thanks to this business. Looking forward to going back many times for regular service/repairs as needed and would highly recommend. …

  • Stephen Averett

Overpriced bikes, they demand to hold your license for a test ride then forget to return it. Wasted a trip there after I was told I could trade my bike in for a new one then they refused. Also, the jamis line of bikes they carry are not that good, and are waaayy overpriced. You can get everything they sell online for 65-70% of their price.

  • Sam Hart

I went here to get a new set of pedals. Rita was very helpful and installed them for me. She also took the time to air up my tires. The price was maybe a bit higher than you would pay on the internet, but with the level of knowledge and customer service I received, it was well worth it. I will be back for any future bicycle related needs.

  • Kamil Morrow

Such amazing people!!! Came in w a bike emergency had two flat tires & busted inner tubes also needed some bike accessories. Daniel helped me out and him & Mike were so kind! My bike feels good as new while riding and now I can get back to door dashing. Thank you guys so much. Deff check them out they have everything you may need!

  • DeMario Blue

Kathy was pretty darn Amazing! Her attitude was so chill and pleasant. She made sure she explained everything and how the bicycle operates she even let me do a test drive. Kathy didn’t force me to make a purchase and she offered to build the bike of my choice the next day. I will be returning for any service needed on my bicycle!

  • Greg Mayer

I walked in with my bike that had a simple brake problem. Some parts needed to be replaced. They let me decide whether I just buy the parts and fix it myself, or have them fix it. No pressure, which I appreciated. I let them fix it in 15 minutes. And they were friendly. I'll go back if I have another problem with the bike.

  • Elliott Pope

From the moment I began doing business with this store the customer service was impeccable. The staff were able to accommodate my need to have a bike boxed for an international shipment, and did a fantastic job. I urge anyone in the metro area who needs boxing service to consider Intown Bicycles. Flawless execution!

  • ferriez johnson

I stumbled upon this shop roughly one month ago and I’m glad that I did. Mike/Rita/staff there are amazing! If you’re looking for a bike shop with expertise good products, and personality, this is the place to go! P.s. I hope to see a Rita led group ride one of these days See you guys soon

  • Benjamin Johnson

Love this shop! They were very helpful and honest in the process of buying the bike, I got what I wanted for the right price. And their repair work is great, too; my bike needed a tune-up and brake pad replacement, and I got it back the next day. Staff is very courteous and friendly, too.

  • M1stk1ll3rb3ast

Very great place to go to for repairs. My name is David and the customer service was amazing. I was able to have a lot of repairs done that I did not know I needed. One of the employees named Zac had great great service and experience with bikes that I recommend working with him!

  • Harrison Avisto

Only game in town who disassembles bikes for shipping. Crazy fast service and so well done. The bike I shipped it to said “whoever packed this bike - are professionals.” They taped off all bars and screw down components to ensure the bike stayed fitted to my dimensions. 10/10

  • Heather Jones

I came in from out of town and got a flat while out and about for a city ride. These folks took me right in and had me back on my bike in no time at all. Staff was very friendly and personable. If I lived here, this would be a go to shop! Thank you all for your kindness.

  • Christopher Leerssen

Mike and Amy and Rita and the gang have been providing super solid service and great cycling advice for what seems like forever. I visited him in 1995 shortly after starting Tech and have patronized ever since. Now buying kids bikes and copilots! Love this place.

  • Francis Allen

Bought a frameset though them a couple weeks ago, after talking to multiple shops and working through a long process, Intown proved to be the best communicators, with friendly, knowledgeable customer service from everyone there, and a fair price to boot.

  • jahari webb

My bike was fixed but they lost my bike lock and did not attempt to recover it in price and then did not offer me a new one. The bike lock was not cheap and I had to buy another and they did not offer to pay for it even though they lost my belongings.

  • Andre Rocha

Very friendly bike shop. I could try a lot of bikes before deciding which one to buy. The only thing: acessories. I bought my helmet and U-lock there with the bike, which was a bike mistake. They were very expensive. I should had only bought the bike.

  • Daniel Mathews

I recently went in to Intown Bicycles to have a bike I purchased online assembled and had a great experience with them. They were very friendly, helpful, and completed the job earlier than expected. Check this shop out, you will be glad you did!

  • William Duffee-Braun

Very knowledgeable and friendly. I went by not really having any idea what was going on with my bike chain and they offered me a few different solutions. No pressure sales at all and gave me some tips on how to care for the chain going forward.

  • Ron Medlin (Ron M.)

Quick and friendly service. I took my Fuji in to get my back tire fixed late on a Sunday afternoon, they replaced it within 15 minutes and I was back on the road. Great location as well, right next to the Beltline and Piedmont Park.

  • John Harris

Great service, friendly staff, good prices! If you're near Piedmont Park and have a bike, this is a great bike shop for you! Got my chain repaired as a walk-in. Will definitely be returning for any of my other bike needs.

  • Grant Davidson

They did a wonderful and fast job on my bike tune up. Didn’t realize how bad my bike was until I got it back from them and it felt brand new again. Gears, brakes, chain, etc all working smoothly. Thanks!

The workers I dealt with were very helpful and informative. They worked with my wife in finding a bike despite us not buying one on that visit. The location next to the beltline is great as well.
