I must say I am super impressed with this wonderful small business. Last week my wife and I came here to pick up her newly tuned up hybrid, which these gentlemen did a great job on. While there, however, I asked about road cycling because I just received a road bike from my father when he passed away last October. Traditionally, I am a marathon runner but you could say that I have always been a bit...bike-curious. So, while there I took the opportunity to ask about road cycling. Specifically, I was interested in an emergency flat-tire kit in case I was 15 miles away from home and my tire went flat. Being a daily bike commuter, I knew bikes on Atlanta streets were prone to punctures. Scott was quick, and excited, to show me the best gear possible for my new adventure. We were comfortable with the price and the equipment so off we went. Fast-forward two days and I was out for my first ride. I did 30 miles on the Silver Comet Trail and absolutely was hooked. Even after I finished my first ride I was ready for the next. Luckily, I had July 4th off and was ready to go. I decided to ride from Edgewood to Stone Mountain. While on the ride, due to novice experience and user error, everything fell out of my emergency kit. I lost my CO2 inflator and my tire was ruined by the back gears. When I went back the next day and told them what happened...they replaced everything and showed me what I did wrong. I was just floored by this kindness. I cannot say enough good about this shop. They have the heart of teachers, are welcoming and friendly, and make you feel like the customer is the most important person in the shop. My wife and I have decided this is the ONLY place we will go for bike repairs and equipment purchases. Thanks Dudes!

Friendly bike place with bike knowledge and a decent selection of all the things you need to find and maintain a bike. However, please be careful NOT to dare stand in front of the neighbor’s house at 450 Cherokee because he will insist that his invasive ivy is a delicate plant and that even though you were extremely thoughtful and found the single space where you could sit without touching it you were in fact sitting on the precious plants. If you try to respond in any way the neighbor will mansplain how you were trampling the plants and need to move, not actually listening to you, and will just start repeating himself. So anyways, really nice bike place, just wish I didn’t have to cross the street to walk two feet and cross again lest the neighbor starts yelling about his ivy, I mean precious plants, again. I was just watching my wife take a test drive on a bike but left the place feeling like a vandalizing hoodlum, so that makes it really hard to go back because I don’t know anything and if the ivy makes it into the sidewalk and I step on it I could incur the wrath of 450.

You walk into this shop, and it feels comfortable and welcoming. I've been to many a LBS (local bike shop) in Atlanta, and there often can be a vibe that you get as a customer. Almost like, you aren't one of us, or aren't as cool as us, so we're going to patronize you. Not here. At all! The owner, Chris, and his team, are amazing. Have a question, they explain it. Patience? In spades. You may have to wait a couple of minutes as they tend to a customer that arrived before you, but that's how it should work. We have bought bikes here, and have all of our bike maint done here as well. Re maintenance, I've been to two other shops in the ATL that have committed major screw ups. That is not a concern at Loose Nuts. Never an issue, and the shop mechanics are approachable, and more than willing to spend time discussing the work they have done. Seriously, I've been biking for 25+ years now. I live in Grant Park, close to this shop. I feel blessed that I have such a phenomenal place so close by.

I stopped by this past Saturday to check out this spot. I had bought 2nd hand a Surly that was originally sold here. They carry a lot of stuff my local bike shop does not. After reading the reviews about this place I figure it was worth a drive to Atlanta. I am so glad that I did. From the moment you walk in you'll be greeted with some of the friendliest customer service. Every employee made sure I was taken care of. I got to speak to "lakey" my spelling may be wrong but he was super cool and even fitted me to the bike. I bought a handlebar bag and asked if he could install it for me because I always prefer a professional to install components on my bike. He gladly did so and even explained to me how to use the strap systems and such. Really nice guy. Overall just a really chill atmosphere with great music and some knowledgeable bike enthusiasts. My best experience in a bike shop by far.

Great shop with zero attitude; friendly, knowledgeable mechanics who will meet you wherever you are, whether it's commuter, mountain biker, prima donna roadie -- or even kids' recreational bikes. Have had them do all the service to my non-ebikes for years, and have also had them help restore used (sometimes rusty) bikes I've bought online to get them running like new. (If they worked on ebikes I'd use them for that too, easily.) Lately had my very first experience with "service recovery" when my road bike got a small dent and a damaged tube-pump bracket while in their care. They put on a new bracket, carefully inspected the frame for structural integrity, and put a credit on my account to make up for the dent. As expected, even when things don't go as planned, they still do the right thing. Atlanta has a lot of decent bike shops, but this is the only one I will consider.

Wow! Great service from an excellent team. My cousin let me borrow a bike he wasn't using that was utterly inoperable. I brought the bike in appalling condition with spider webs, rusted chains, and more, but the team let me know that it would be a problem and made recommendations that fit my needs perfectly. I felt so bad bringing the bike in such bad shape, but it's almost as if I have a completely new bike now. The best part was that the repairs only took a short time and the price charged was more than fair! Although the shop is about an hour from me on a day of battling traffic in the city of Atlanta, I'll never go anywhere else, to be honest. At times I'm skeptical of reviews, but this establishment pulls its weight. Thanks, guys

  • Mark Lindsey

These guys are awesome! I live in Mexico and I damaged the rear axle of my mountain bike while riding down there. It was a Shimano hub and none of the shops in Cozumel had what I needed. I had a business trip to Atlanta and found these guys as being highly rated. I contacted them via email on the day they were closed and got an almost immediate email back asking me to stop by the shop. One of the owners, Tyler said he wasn't sure if they had it in stock, but if they didn't he'd pull one off of one of his bikes and sell it to me. Where do you get service like that? Nowhere these days. I was in and out of the shop in a few minutes. Their shop dog is a sweetie. Such a good boy!

  • Brittany Verras

I've got to echo all the other reviewers sentiments - these guys are super friendly, super knowledgeable and really thorough. When I first called asking for a tune up (because, let's be real, I didn't know what was going on with my bike) they said "c'mon on in so we can see what's going on and what it needs". They could have 100% done a tune up, taken a chunk of money, and I'd be none the wiser but they showed they genuinely cared about getting to the actual issue by exploring first. I gained SO much knowledge that, even with a brief visit, I will be a better rider. I will always go here from now on and you should, too.

  • Austin Griffith

I can’t recommend this shop enough! I brought in a crusty bike from Craigslist and told them what I wanted to do with it, and they guided me through the whole process and procured all the parts I needed to get it back on the road. They’re happy to do the work for you and they’re just as happy to give you pointers if you wish to do your own work, which is super cool! It’s refreshing to have a bike shop experience where the crew knows what they’re doing and aren’t stingy with advice or vibing you out for not knowing your stuff. Definitely making Loose Nuts my go-to bike shop and you should too.

  • Drew Smith

I moved to the area a few months ago and have been to Loose Nuts Cycles twice now for bike repairs. I went in most recently to have a flat tire replaced. Curious, I watched from the register as one of the guys started working on it. He must’ve noticed because he asked if I wanted to learn how to change a flat. He then proceeded to explain step-by-step what he was doing and why and had me ready to ride in no more than 5 minutes. Their customer service went above and beyond my expectations both times I've gone, and I urge anyone considering it to stop in.

  • Tristan Emmons

LOOSE NUTS IS AWESOME... seriously, the guys who work there, the bikes are so nice, so much experience and kindness all in one. Very hard to come by. I've owned my bike for 2 years now, purchased from them based off their recommendation and have loved every second I spent on the bike. I finally came back for a "tune up" and they took care of me. Made my bike feel BRAND NEW again. Can't wait to go ride. Shoot... I can't wait to buy another bike from them. Thanks Chris and the team!! I'll be back for some of those slick tires soon.

  • Kendra Lee

The guys that work in the shop are friendly, helpful, and not elitist about the customers' bikes. They'll fix what you need without trying to upsell you. Today I had a few minor issues with a used bike I'd bought off of Craigslist. They fixed the little stuff that was keeping me from riding my new bike really quickly--and at no charge (it took maybe 10 minutes, but they totally could've charged me). These are totally stand-up guys who know a lot about bikes. Take your bike there.

  • Leanna Usher

These guys are so incredibly helpful and kind. They know what they are doing, and know how to do it fast. They didn't have my size frame in stock, and I would have to wait until July for the bike itself because it was on back order at the source. So they worked with me and ordered the frame and built me the bike in less than a week. They did this despite them already having lots of work to do. They rock so much!!! I would suggest you go to them for your bike needs, 10/10 times.

  • K

Super friendly staff! Went in there killing some time before catching a flight out of Atlanta. Talked to Chris about different options on a custom build I'm doing through a different shop, very friendly and knowledgable. I was impressed that they gave me so much time even though I was clear I wasn't buying a bike from them! Ended up buying a shirt just to support this killer shop. Highly recommended - if I'm ever back in ATL I will for sure go back.

  • Micah Wedemeyer

I rate bike shops by how dumb they make me feel. Loose Nuts mechanics are polite, skilled, and happy to tailor their explanation to whatever level you want. Just want it done? Sure, no problem. Want them to show exactly what they're doing, explain the pros and cons? They'll do that too, and not make you feel like an idiot for not knowing. Hands down the best bike repair shop I've been to in Atlanta, and I've been riding here for 15 years.

  • Logan Vaught

I took my mail-order bike from China there on a busy Sunday. One of their tech’s was incredibly accommodating. He quickly took a look at my situation, changed around the orientation of some stuff, gave me a quote for shortening the cables but ultimately didn’t even charge me for the 10 mins he spent on it. As a newb to it all, I’m happy to know I’m just a quick ride away from a sweet neighborhood spot like Loose Nuts. 5 stars.

  • Chris Parsons

Loose Nuts is a dream shop for touring or bikepacking. The staff and mechanics are incredibly helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you have the best ride you can. I’ve had bikes fully serviced here and received advice on a custom build. The mechanics have walked me through the wheel building selection process and are superlative when it comes to matching a bike with a rider.

  • Jane Lomas

Great neighborhood bike shop. Called first and whomever answered the phone was wonderfully friendly and helpful and told me they'd be open another hour and to come by. Got there 20 minutes before closing and a gentleman took my bike right in and made the adjustments, test rode it first and after I rode it, sent me on my way. Very reasonable price for work done. Thanks Loose Nuts!

  • Pierce Hicks

These guys are super trust worthy, newbie friendly, and nice! I came for advice on tuning up a bike I had not rode in 3 years. They checked it out, lubed it up and saw I was missing an end plug and gave me one all at no charge because the bike was good. That type of honesty and newbie friendly interaction had me stoked! Will 100% try and find something to buy from them.

  • Soon Han

Great people. Honestly, some of the friendliest people around and very knowledgeable about bikes. I'm not the best about maintenance so I have random issues come up the day I want to ride, however, these guys have come in clutch a few times and they do amazing work. If you need some maintenance, parts, or even a new bike this is the place to go!

  • Mike Gerber

I've been to a number of bike shops here in Atlanta and have figured out these guys are the best. Personable, fair, and quick with repairs. And they don't pressure you into buying parts and service that you don't really need. Another plus is that they're the closest bike shop to my place in Ormewood Park. Keep up the excellent work Loose Nuts!

  • Connor Morozumi

I really want to love this place and I'll probably continue taking my Salsa here for the free tune ups that come with purchasing a bike at this shop. But the work was sloppy. I had them install a rack and the mechanic forgot to tighten the stays to the rack. Considering a rack install is really basic I worry about anything more complicated!

  • Craig Perry

This bike shop is excellent. They are expert mechanics who understand what is important to their customers, who range from commuters like me to all kinds of serious and casual cyclists. They go the extra mile to provide service and make repairs in a cost-effective way. They are super responsive by phone and email. Highly recommended!

  • Alan Holmes

I had to edit my review. Though the service was quick, the issue wasn't fully resolved. A day after getting my tube replaced my bake right tire went flat again. Now I will have to go through the inconvenience of going back up to Loose Nuts to have them repair this a 2nd time. Not happy at all with the level of service provided to me.

  • Ian Leslie

Chris, the owner, took time to explain the current situation and problems with what I wanted to build! He took the time even though I was from out of state and doing a bit of window shopping. Atlanta is lucky to have his shop representing Surly! If I wish I was more local, his shop would become my LBS %! …

  • Gera Perl

Great shop and amazing staff! Friendly, very knowledgeable and fast. They are my to-go address in Atlanta and their prices are absolutely fair, too. I got my disk brakes replaced and gear adjusted today and it took them 10 minutes - with none of that salesman BS happening. Thank you guys. Highly recommended!

  • Susan Zhang

Super grateful I found this place! Just moved here and the movers messed up my bike - chain fell off and front breaks didn’t work. They fixed both issues for me for free! Even when I insisted on paying. And got some great tips on bike trails. Will def be coming here for all of my bike needs. ❤️❤️❤️

  • Tureano Johnson

I love it, live it, love it. Must say, unlike other bike repair shop here in Atlanta, these guy's are real cool and concerned. Affordable and fair. Above all, they know what they are doing. My first time there, and won't be my last. You you don't believe me, check them out yourself.

  • Michael Levine

Awesome! I brought in 2 old bikes that we got for cheap expecting them to need work. One he said looked fine as it is, and the other they fixed the tire that had fallen off, pumped up the other, and said it was all good. Just charged $10 and I was on my way within 10 minutes.

  • Anika Robertson

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. In addition to servicing my bike, they showed me how to best use it and that paint on wheel may prevent my brakes from being optimal until it wears off. Even put the bike on my new rack properly so it was secure. Love this shop!!

  • Lisa Provost

Just had my bike tuned up here and it needed LOTS of extra love. I got to ride it for the first time after getting it back today and it's like a brand new bike! I love this place - great service, reasonable prices, friendly faces, really responsive - bring your bike here!

  • Tj Chini

Wish I could give these guys more than 5 stars. Patrick got me fixed up extremely fast and even walked me through the issue and how to fix it. Excellent customer service and even better atmosphere. Chris was also very knowledgeable and gave great tips.

  • Carrie Ciccotello Bissell

Awesome place! Bought a road bike off Facebook and immediately blew a tire. Brought it here and they replaced it and did a check of the bike with some fixes while I was standing there. Was super affordable! Will take my bike here for all future needs.

  • Justin McCarroll

One hell of a bike shop. Came in to get a new seat and pump, they went ahead and filled my tires, set up the seat, and aligned my handlebars (all free of charge). This will be my go-to spot for service in the future. Can’t recommend them enough.

Took my bike for repairs. Was given 1 price. Took 30days to contact me only to charge me 100.00 ontop of the already overpriced repair work. Will never recommend or take my future bikes to this facility.

  • Max Upp

These guys are great. Took care of a weird issue on my bike and didn’t oversell me. He even took a little extra effort to get me dialed in. Cool spot too in a quiet part of town. I’ll definitely be back.
