Being the partner of the person who wrote the last review, I think it's important to point out that the member of staff involved has been entirely dishonest about what took place. First of all, and most importantly, there was no apology from the male member of staff for reducing a young woman to tears. So for this reason, I cannot recommend more strongly any shoppers giving this place and it's employees a very wide berth. Secondly, no "staff only section of the shop" was accessed. My partner simply picked up a box which was above shoes on display when this member decided to leap out from behind a desk and fly at my partner, so please don't believe this nonsense. A simple "Can I help you?" would've sufficed, but up until this point he chose to sit on his backside, completely ignoring the only customers in the shop. Any grown man that decides that it's entirely acceptable to fly at a young woman like that and reduce her to tears should most definitely not be allowed around "young school girls who suffer with anxiety". To suggest being alone with that member of staff again as a resolution and is very far from understanding or demonstrating an informed approach. Parents of said girls beware. Thirdly, please do not think to claim the words of a third party without them responding. I returned to the shop to calmly explain why my partner had left, in the misguided hope that the member of staff might show some semblance of compassion or understanding with a view to both of us returning to the shop. The fact that we did not return to the shop should tell you and any reader of this review all you need to know about how your colleague actually responded rather than what he has claimed. By the looks of other reviews, both you and your colleague seem to have an ongoing issue with how you view customers should be treated. May this review serve as an added reminder to yourselves and any potential customers that your attitudes remain unaddressed.

Friend saw Blunstone boots on website. Went to store and was charged £14.00 more.Thought I had made error. Checked website on return home still showing at £120. Called store was told they would call me back. No call phoned 2hours later and was told they had changed price on website. I am local and wanted to support local store. Never use them again and will advise everyone I know not to use them. Hopeless customer care.....they don't. In response... When I called the shop they said they would check it out and call me back. They merely corrected the error on the website and did not contact me to explain. Seems like fairly obvious butt covering to me.

After gearing myself up to buy a pair of DMs, which I had wanted for a while, was forcefully told not to take the merchandise off the shelf (having read other reviews, I think it's the same hostile man others have encountered). I'm an incredibly anxious shopper, so left immediately. I will be taking my custom elsewhere and will suggest my friends do the same. Edit: in response to the reply below, there was no apology, just "how was I to know?". As for the part of the shop in front of the counter being "restricted", this was not clear. I try to support independent retailers rather than chains, but the entire experience has left a bitter taste.

This is the only place in Bristol where you should be buying your DM’s from!!!!! Excellent, honest and knowledgeable service every time. I visited the shop yesterday and tried on both the Clarissa (£120 ?) and Blair (£89.99) sandals, I was unsure of which to go for and I was allowed to try both styles on. I was given an honest opinion on which would wear better and which would be more comfortable and - crucially - wasn’t pushed into buying the more expensive shoe. I walked away happy id made a great decision with the Blair’s! Huge thank you to the guys at KBK, looking forward to my next DM purchase!

I couldn't believe it - I bought a pair of boots and went home to try them on properly. I returned to the shop for a refund 15 MINUTES later (I live around the corner and have used the shop for over 20 years) and was told that refunds cannot be given, only a credit note! I was further informed that this is part of their customer charter (a very small piece of printed information displayed in parts of the store) and that they couldn't make an exception for the brief time I was out of the shop. I was obviously gobsmacked! Needless to say, I will be only be shopping online in future!

Went to the DM shop in Broadmead first. They didn't know about the shoes, weren't very interested. This guy is obviously enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He tested the fit and told me I needed a smaller size. Despite my insistence, he put his rep on the line and told me I was wrong. Now it's two months later and I can confidently and happily say I was wrong. And I called with a concern a week after purchase and a woman was really nice and helpful. Great place. Thanks. P.s. He gets in the special editions better than the one in Broadmead too 3 years later: These boots are too small

This is an amazing shop with an incredible range of the classic Dr Martin's and Blundstone boots but also lots of unique styles you don't normally see. Tom was so helpful, I would never have been able to buy the right boots online as there is a lot about sizing etc that you need a professional like Tom to explain to you. He was really friendly and patient and helped me choose the perfect boot that will last me for years and years! He also gave me a brilliant deal on price which I really appreciated. Couldn't recommend more!

I have shopped here a number of times and each time I am never disappointed. The young man in there (I am assuming is the owner) is very pleasant and inviting and knows his stuff when it comes to Doc Martens. You are never felt pressured into buying. The range they have is fantastic, I always find myself struggling to pick what I want due to the vast amount of different styles available on offer. In terms of price, you can't beat it anywhere else. If you love Doc Martens, shop at KBK shoes!!

Took my daughter to get her first pair of DMs (she's been after a pair for ages). Chap in store was really helpful, gave excellent advice about sizing for unisex boots and how to break them in. Daughter happy with her DMs (at least till inevitable blisters appear) and I left impressed at the service. Also, £20 cheaper than the DM store in town, so if you're less than happy dealing with the Morlocks and Phone Zombies in Broadmead and Consumer Circus I'd totally recommend heading here.

After looking everywhere in the town center for a specific pair of doc's. I was told that they pair I wanted didnt exist and the size I wanted wasnt in stock. After being directed here by a worker in blue bannana I walked to this shop and they had the exact style and size I wanted. The service was very good and the guy helped me out with all my questions, eventually helping me leave with a pair of shoes I am very happy with.

The only place to buy Dr Martens. Just want to say massive thank you to the owner for his honest advice. I wasnt sure whether to size down he gave me confidence to size down and assured me I could come back if I had any problems. I love the shoes he was right they fit perfectly. Ordered Dr Martens boots which never arrived.Little contact from the store. Raised this with pay-pal. The seller failed to resolve the issue and in the end I have had to let pay-pal decide the outcome as the seller has failed to deliver the boots or refund. They have also failed to reply to the case for over a week either. I wouldn't use this store again.

Went here on a recommendation, after trying 4 different shops in Bristol for dr martens, finally managed to get my girlfriend a pair in her size here, the only place in Bristol that seemed to have any stock at all. The guy working was really helpful and welcoming, great customer service and will definitely be returning. The dog was adorable too.

Would not refund - even though bought from the shop the previous evening. Very large markup. £100 work safety boots available direct from Dr Marten for £69 or from Toolstation for £70.48. A shame because I like to support local shops - but not with that kind of markup! First and last purchase from them. …

Unbelievably helpful owner man! He was super knowledgable without ever being sales-y - seemed to genuinely want to help me find my Life Boot. He was also really understanding when I needed to swap sizes. I would recommend these guys unreservedly.

I purchase Doc Martens with the Boot company, and when they arrived they were too big. I returned the boots to exchange for a smaller size and had them back within days or returning. Super company and very efficient
