Hmm…I really do hate giving poor reviews, but Kaffeine really dropped the ball. They’re getting two whole stars for the ambiance/style and the cashier’s kindness only. Without those things, it would be zero. **Let me preface this review by saying their commercial espresso machine was out of order at the time of our visit. They had resorted to using a small, home-use Breville machine. It was actually the newer model of the same machine we happen to have at home.** The espresso drinks we ordered (6 oz capp and cortado) were honestly some of the worst we have ever had. Firstly, we waited far too long. We expected to wait a little bit longer due to the machine being used, but after about 10-15 min, we were starting to wonder what was going on so we went up to the counter to check. We never heard anyone call out our order for pick-up. Turned out someone else had snatched up our order without anyone noticing. We were still chill at this point because the girl behind the counter was nice and apologized. We continued to wait as she remade our drinks. Unfortunately, we knew they weren’t any good as soon as she sat them down in front of us. Way too much milk. She made an 8 oz capp and what appeared to be an 8 oz cortado (meaning they weren’t actually a capp or cortado at all). We decided to go back to our seats and give them a taste anyway. Terrible. Nothing but warm milk. Not a single hint of espresso. We were incredibly disappointed. We took two sips, threw them out, and left. Side note: we can’t even blame the machine because we pull fine shots from the same type every day at home. I think the barista was just way out of her element, and she even kind of eluded to that fact while she was making our drinks. However, this has nothing to do with the fact that their espresso drinks are simply the wrong size to begin with. You win some; you lose some. In this case, we lost $10 and 25 min of our time. And now we know.

Guys I have given this place about 27 chances. They have the best espresso. UNFORTUNATELY every single time I am made uncomfortable by staff. Sometimes they very rudely tell me I can’t have ristretto in an iced latte, and talk down to me. Sometimes they talk to their friends and make my drink wrong repeatedly. Today was the last straw. I ordered my drink, I was polite, I tipped. Also, I’m a barista myself so I’m not really sure why they just allowed this to happen. The barista was talking it up with two people blocking the whole counter. She made my drink wrong, I said something shyly because I saw in the written ticket that it was written correctly, just made wrong. AND HER FRIENDS SAT THERE MAKING FUN OF ME. Are you kidding me? For context, I’m not a Karen, I’m a Joe Shmoe college kid. They made fun of me for an additional 10 minutes until I got my “fixed drink” and I swear to god, they didn’t even make the shots ristretto. Why do y’all subject me to this every time? I have pretty bad social anxiety and every time I leave here feeling some type of way about myself and my capabilities. Your espresso is not worth the torture you put me through.

I live across the street so I decided to run over for some coffee. I saw they close at 6 so I went over 20 minutes before just to see if I could still get something. I would have been fine had it been a "no" considering how late it was. Instead, I got irritation before the girl at the counter agreed to my request for a cappuccino. She turned around and handed me a large black coffee. I said I had asked for a cappuccino and all I got was that she couldn't make that. It would have been nice to know from the beginning that it wasn't possible instead of getting something I clearly didn't ask for. This isn't the first time I've had an unpleasant encounter with this particular person unfortunately. There are much better and friendlier coffee places (i.e. Coat Check Coffee).

I’ll admit that I’m not a well versed coffee or tea drinker, at all but I wanted to give tea a try on this snowy day. I had the pleasure of meeting the barista, Annabelle, who recommended a warm tea that I actually really enjoyed! She was very welcoming, conversational and recommended how long I should steep the tea for because I had no clue. Wonderful experience all around and the wood & vintage feel all contributed to this great experience. The only thing I would tweak would be the music. I would recommend streaming something advertisement free and a little more upbeat. Other than that minor suggestion, this place is a wonderful coffee shop and a very friendly staff. Thanks Annabelle! I’ll definitely be coming back.
Awesome coffee shop! I love that it’s just straight coffee. They don’t add the traditional syrups to their coffee which makes their amazing beverages that much more amazing. The Spanish latte is out of this world good. I often go here as a place to get a bunch of work done. It’s a great spot just to tuck away somewhere and crank out a ton of work for me. It’s a little off the beaten path and parking is not the greatest. Closes kind of early for a coffee shop I think but other than that it’s a great spot.

Oh my! What a way to start New Year and "discover" a new coffee shop! We had to change our plans cause another coffee shop was closed and the nearest option was Mass Ave. Walk in and you immediately get the urban vibe with exposed brick and the casual vibe with the hipster crowd. They have a "World of Coffee" section with cool options such as Moroccan, Cuban, African and Italian. I went for 12 oz.Americano and it just didn't disappoint. There's a variety of teas and good old Ghirardelli's hot chocolate. I ended up working for 3+ hours and it was a good experience. Parking wasn't a hassle though it was Mass Ave and coffee was decently priced. Coming back!

This place is fantastic! The most impressive fact of this establishment is that they have a long list of various coffee drinks from around the world, recreated exactly how they would be in their countries of origin! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, they offered to warm up my chocolate chip cookie and my vegan carrot muffin, both of which were most delectable treats! I also had the pleasure of experiencing a Spanish Mocha, which was just the right amount of sweetness, topped with a dash of cinnamon. The place has a good atmosphere, though a few more comfy chairs would definitely be an upgrade to me. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and look forward to returning to this shop very soon!
I never leave google reviews but this is literally one of my FAVORITE places in the world. The atmosphere is friendly and peaceful, the cafe is beautifully rustic, and the coffee is legitimate. (Plus they have fantastic vegan options!) The baristas are always welcoming and last time I went they helped me to choose a drink called meil, which now happens to be my very favorite latte I have ever had. It was a better drink than anything I’ve had even while living in Europe. My husband and I met at this cafe for our first date five years ago and every time we visit it again it means so much to us. It is a hidden gem and everything a good cafe should be.
Space is really open and great for getting work done. Also super close to mass Ave nice location for a walk. I’m not usually one to judge a shop by coffee taste but I might need to start because they raised the bar! Best coffee I’ve had in a long time.

I'm so happy that I found this great coffee shop! I'm from out of town and I was pleasantly surprised to see the wide variety of coffee selection at Kaffeine. I was also very surprised to find that they served Café de Olla - a traditional Mexican coffee beverage. It's made with Mexican ground coffee, cinnamon, and raw dark sugar called "Piloncillo". I spoke with a gentlemen who worked there named Chris who tells me they like experimenting with traditional coffee drinks from around the world. Café de Olla is only there for a limited time so make sure you try some! Cheers.
Just another coffee shop like a million others in the city where coffee is just an afterthought. My cappuccino tasted like milk. My wife's cortado tasted like milk. We had one sip each and promptly left. To give them the benefit of doubt, their main espresso machine was broken and they were using a Breville consumer grade machine to pull shots. But so do I, at home and still make a cortado that at least tastes like coffee.

This shop is incredible! First you start with a staff that has an incredible knowledge about coffee and brewing. Every time they suggest something new it is spot on how they described it and yummy. Second, the energy in the shop is uplifting without being chaotic like other coffee shops. Third, it is kinda off the beaten path so there is a nice flow of customers in and out which is nice if you are having a business meeting. I can’t recommend this shop enough!!!

Great coffee and study spot. Not the sweet stuff other places have. I ordered a latte and it came with some art! All drinks are made to order and I describe the place as a hearty, warm ambience. The baristas are also very friendly and help you out with the menu. Parking is a bit difficult. There are maybe 3-4 designated parking right outside. I parked across the street and it technically says “24/7 tow zone”.

Had a great experience at Kaffine Coffee Co.! The tea I ordered was perfect for the hot weather, and it hit the spot. The location might be a bit hidden, but that added to the charm. The industrial vibe of the place created a unique atmosphere, and being in a quiet area made it even more relaxing. The overall ambiance was wonderful, and I enjoyed my visit. A solid four-star rating for this cozy coffee spot!

I know I'm probably supposed to review the coffee above all else, but man the vibes of this place are very chill. It's tucked away in this little industrial area, but it's like peak coffee house aesthetic. It's a cool place to just hang out. I had the cold brew, and a croissant, and it was very good. If you like coffee places that would also look good on your instagram feed, then this is probably a place to try out. Only downside would be they didn't have soy milk, but I had the oat milk, and it was still great!
My friend recommended this place to work on some homework and it was perfect! I ordered a London Fog and it was quite possibly the best one I've ever had. Absolutely perfect. I also got a chocolate chip muffin (warmed) which was delicious. The wifi worked great, the seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was delightful. Will definitely visit again!

If you are looking for good coffee, (not Starbucks), you’re way too far past the mark if you go here. I don’t want my coffee in a garage, let alone ‘traditional’ coffee that adds cinnamon and ginger instead of syrup. If you’re looking for a decent latte that’s not overly expensive and wafting with pretentiousness, try somewhere else. Anyway, the baristas were kind and that was nice

Calm morning atmosphere with good amount of tables, right volume to the barley-noticed-coffee-shop soundtrack, and a delicious espresso base. Would recommend for small groups of 5 or less. Has stairs at entrance (without obvious ramp option) so would not recommend for stroller / wheelchair. Revamped industrial look that doesn't seem posed but an authentic attitude. Parking is limited so support your local transit!
I went there a few times and it was usually pretty good but the last time I went the Chinese gal that makes the coffee didn't do mine fresh. It was like it was already sitting on the counter. It was colder than normal and I didn't get to see her do any of the process

Spanish Latte and Everything Bagel
A must stop! This is my favorite coffee shop in Indianapolis. They have a huge variety of drinks with many methods of brewing for you to try. If you are going to get a latte, try the Spanish latte! The atmosphere is very trendy and there are some bigger tables that can be used for big groups. Many people work and study here and is a great environment. They also have great scones that are worth a try!
Good strong coffee and a nice place to hang out. Easy to miss, but worth searching for. The coffee was good and the staff friendly. I even found myself buying a pound of whole beans. Also inexpensive for a coffee shop.

Literally the best coffee in Indy! It’s a shame it’s a little hidden away but it’s worth finding! Brews and blends on menu all the time that you won’t find anywhere else, each lovingly crafted by hand each time. The kitschy decor of antique coffee cans and advertising items creates a unique ambiance to be appreciated. If you’re a local coffee lover, this is the place to be!

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so when my friends invited me, I didn't know if I would find something I like. The barista recommended the Spanish latte. It was delicious! Paired with an everything bagel. Perfect Sunday morning and for less than $10, it was cheaper than most other places.

I moved to Indy less than a year ago and I was on the hunt for my go-to coffee shop. I found it here. They don’t have fancy frappuccino’s, but they focus on classics done right. The coffee is amazing and the staff is one in a million. Some do the nicest and most knowledgeable staff ever! I come here at least 3 times a week and I don’t plan on stopping soon ❤️
Beautiful atmosphere and warm inviting decor but there was not any vegan options or dairy free options. Also a lot of the syrups and flavorings had dairy in them. I ended up having a hot chocolate but as someone who likes flavored drinks and doesn't drink dairy this isn't a place that will be top of my list primarily because of the lack of vegan options
This coffee shop is a little unassuming from the outside. We were a little surprised at where it was, actually! But we are so glad we stopped in! It’s so cool inside. We got Spanish lattes based off other reviews and we were not disappointed! So delicious and the girl working the counter was very nice! We will come back whenever we are in the area next!
First off my coffee was delicious. Secondly, how did it take me two years to try this spot out. The design choices and overall layout make for a very laid back but inviting atmosphere. When the front door is up and open wide a lot of the outside comes in. As Mass Ave continues its growth I hope this coffe spot gets even more exposure. Great spot.
I think this is one of those gems in Indy, the coffee can cost anywhere from 3 to 5 dollars, a really fantastically affordable coffee shop. The coffee isn't the best I've ever had. But, it's consistent and will always be a go to for myself. The setting promotes a feeling of productivity and focus. The staff are also super sociable and kind.
Went here for the first time today and loved it! Very cool atmosphere, delicious Cafe Miel and espresso, and nice baristas!! I got to talk to Tyler and Dani about their beans and they were super friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend to a friend for a good place to study, have a coffee date, or just get some good brew :)
Lovely place, lovely people, great house coffee! It's a bit hidden but there is parking in front of the building! They sent me a dollar off coupon because I mentioned that It was my first time there. Shows me that they listen and support their customers. Of the coffee shops I've visited so far Ive enjoyed this one the most.
Very cool laid back atmosphere. You feel like you've stepped into another realm when you enter. The coffee was so good! I got the Spanish Latte and a bagel. Regular bagel no complaints but my oh my that Spanish Latte was so good I needed to have one to go. Vintage setting great aroma in the air. All in all a good time.
The best of all worlds in the middle of the city. Outstanding coffee and the staff treats you like an old friend they've not seen in a while. Great place to chill, meet friends or work. It's a bit tricky to find but it's worth the search.

Great industrial feel, they do a swift trade so be sure to get there early if you want to sit at a table, however the bar top is good seating as well. His presence here really just adds to this hidden gem! His flavor and expertise really complimented our experience!!!

If you wanted to try something new - come here. Tons of different coffee beans from around the globe, quality preparation + some can also get tea and pastries. The interior is spacious and the atmosphere is very laid back - we’ll definitely be back! It wasn’t pricy either and parking was easy to find.
Very chilled place.... I loved the place since it is perfect for a morning coffee and to code. It gives you vibe of thinking out of the box or imagine. I didn't feel much difference in coffee taste. But would love to go alone and spend sometime with my laptop. Good place for creative thinking...

My newest coffee shop obsession. My only complaint is the bathroom: only one gender neutral bathroom for the place, and the only way you know is occupied is to try to open the door, which I did three or four times before the current occupant let me know she was in there. I showed myself out.
Unique, rustic coffee shop located in an old, refurbished building, which adds a very chill vibe. It's more quiet and a nice spot to read or study. It helps that the coffee is wonderful and totally worth the wait for your cup! If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping in.
I absolutely love everything about this place, except the parking. The menus, the pastries, the attention to detail in every vintage map, spreadsheet, and decor that contributes to the aesthetic that makes it a place worth coming back to. It was the perfect place to sit and write!
The coffee is great, good selection. The pastries are quality. Only complaint is they generally only have one employee working, which means if the line is over 2 people long, you'll be waiting quite a bit depending on the intricacy of the order of the people in front of you.
Great atmosphere. And the music is always chill and easy to work too. I've worked from here quite a few times and I'm able to easily focus and jump on video calls if needed with no issues. Awesome spot to drop in for coffee, work and to meet with people for a chat.
What a cool coffee shop! This place has an awesome vintage feel and pretty great coffee, too. The owner is the nicest guy you'll meet all day. We had a great experience popping in here for a quick hit of the good stuff. Do yourself a favor and go hit this place up.
I've only been here twice, but the atmosphere is so great. You will definitely need to look for the outlets if you're bringing your computer and doing work. Tables are nicely sized and the space itself is friendly for catching up with friends or doing work .

We loved the atmosphere here! This place has a great vibe! We enjoyed the espresso and latte as well. The service was cordial and friendly. The baristas are very knowledgeable. Great place to hangout and grab a cup of caffeine! We would go back again.
The Spanish lattes are the absolute BEST here. Lots of spaced out seating available, which is perfect for a time like this. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is very chill; perfect for studying/meeting up with someone. Highly recommend.
What a cute, moody coffee shop!We stopped in early before leaving town and the dim lighting paired with the vintage decor made it feel like a scene out of a movie! The barista was friendly and the flavor of the hot Spanish coffee was amazing! More
Delicious Spanish Latte!!! You have to try it! Atmosphere was light and fun with a low hum of taking so if u want to read or study is perfect! A wonderful spot to meet an old friend for coffee and cut chat too!!! Definitely will be going back!
Amazing staff, atmosphere, and most importantly coffee. I think it's really well priced and I love trying all the things on their menu. It has an industrial vibe which is really cool! One of the most unique coffee places I've been to in Indy.
Since the pandemic began, I have decided to buy coffee grounds from local coffee shops, and Kaffeine Coffee Co did not disappoint! They had a variety of options available. I really like their Nicaraguan beans. Nice staff and atmosphere, too.
Was visiting Indy from out of state, wanted to check out a local place for coffee instead of the national chain options and was completely blown away by the uniqueness of all their various coffee offerings! It's definitely a treat to learn
As far as I'm concerned this is Indy's best. Incredible variety of brew methods and skilled baristas who are still approachable. Not to mention that the prices are much more reasonable than some of the other craft coffee shops around town.
Love the fitout of this place and the history of the old buildings in this area. But this review is mostly constructive criticism of the coffee roasting strategy at Kaffeine based on one visit. Had a Kenyan on drip here yesterday morning

Friendly baristas and nice place to work/read. The shop is in an old warehouse, giving it nice charm. They also sell their beans by the half pound or pound.
Great little place to sit and just be! I loved the Moroccan Late, the spices are perfect. It's also nice to have easy parking for a downtown coffee.
Chocolate croissant was to die for! Fluffy layers with a crispy top. Flat white was delicious no sweeter needed. Espresso blend is perfection.
Probably my favorite coffee shop. Love the vibe and the coffee is delicious. Only feedback is that they need more menus for those in line.
