We had a great time! Very reasonably priced as well. $70/year for 2 adults and all the kids in your household (I believe not sure the age cap since we just have a 2 year old). We came on a Monday because Discovery Museum is closed Mondays during the school year and these two museum's aren't to far apart. So glad we did, my little one had a great time. So much to do here for kids and adults. I'll have to bring my husband back soon, he was working, I know he will love it. The give the kids a little scavenger hunt for their time in the museum. They give them a little prize when they leave (tiny plastic frog and beaded necklaces was what they had when we went). I took a good amount of pictures, but we didn't make it downstairs because someone was ready for a nap. Real fish, small sharks, star fish, seahorse, snake, guinea pig, lizards, tarantula and more. Lots of taxidermy animals and some mechanical dinosaurs (the sounds of the dinosaurs were scary for my little one). It was hard to get my daughter out of the aquarium area. Her next favorite spot was past the dinosaurs where kids could play "find the fossils" and hang out in a fake submarine. Back in the party area (no party at the time) was where the guinea pig and some other insects were. Can't wait to bring her back to see the downstairs! .... Aug 2022 Still love coming here. My daughter loved the Di Vinci exhibit (while available). She also finally got the courage to go through the Tombs and loved it!

This place is so much bigger than it looks from the parking lot! As an adult I feel like I learned a lot! The signs that go along with the exhibits are very entertaining and written in a story like manner, NOT the boring type… There are lots of activities for kids, including giant 3D moving dinosaur replicas, which sparked my three year olds fascination with dinosaurs. So cute There is also a live lizard room, where we discovered the existence of a leg-less lizard and where I saw live giant Madagascar cockroaches for the first time! XD There is also a marine section where you can see live seawater and salt water fish. So you even get a mini sea world experience to boot! The staff are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share their knowledge, which of course just adds incalculable value to the whole experience. Normally staff are too busy or nowhere to be seen these days in other places.. To sum up; This isn’t just a curious place to see some peculiar artifact, but it is truly an educational adventure.

One of the best museums I have ever been to as of now. It seems like this amazing attraction can be easily overlooked by most in a city that already offers so much to do, but it is more than worth it to set aside ample time to explore this amazing place. This museum provides friendly staff, a huge variety of amazing exhibit, great immersion for kids and adults alike, and can entertain groups for hours. We have been here multiple times now and every time they add something new that makes the experience even better. Even the consistent exhibits are more than worth the price of admission, with the ancient Egyptian exhibit, the dinosaur exhibit, and the kids activity room being highlights within an already stellar museum. The price is also phenomenal as well, and many discounts are offered for students, educators, and others alike. This amazing natural history museum should not be missed under any circumstances.

YES!! A thousand times yes!! I had a few hours to kill before checking in to my hotel and SO HAPPY that i stumbled across this place. It's something great to do that didn't require a ton of energy after driving for so long. They have a room full of gems and minerals/rocks with a display of some that glow! Animatronic dinosaurs that make sounds and rawr at each other (so fierce)!! Very eye-catching marine exhibit! The whole place was right on track with our road trip! We had just seen petroglyphs and dinosaur things thru the last few states and this museum just kind of tied it all together. They had an amazing Egyptian exhibit that had fun and educational interactive things (no i don't have children i'm early 30s and IT WAS A BLAST) you can lift pails to see how heavy their water buckets were, there was some kind of mortar and pestle thing but the best was the walk thru of King Tut's tomb <3

We have visited lots of museums and this place is one of the worst in America! It was really disappointing to me, since Nevada is my home state. The staff wasn't friendly at all. One guy was on a power trip or something. He patrolled the museum to snap at little kids and bark orders to the adults. He tried to tell me about a display and I was so irritated I just ignored him. Maybe he should tell kids about the displays instead of yelling at them. The displays were really light on information. The taxidermy work was pretty good, but the animals just had their name listed. No map showing where they live, no details on them, nothing but the name of the animal. Parking was free, probably the best part of the museum. We got in with our ASTC membership and it cost us $6. Might be worth that. I would have been mad if I had paid the $42 it would normally have cost our family of 5 to visit.

The only thing I regret about my trip to the LV Natural History Museum is that I couldn’t bring my kids with me. The museum is small but it is extremely well done! There is an extensive collection of taxidermy animals from all over the world, informative and visually appealing exhibits on sea life and dinosaurs, and a recreation of King Tut’s Tomb! They even have a interactive kids section that included an opportunity to hold/pet live animals (the ball python was out during our visit). The entrance fee is very reasonable and they have discounts for military and students so bring your IDs. The gift shop was small and reasonably priced as well. It’s off the strip and I recommend taking an Uber instead of a taxi as the former will be half as much. If I ever go back to Vegas I would definitely visit again.

  • Brayden Workman

This place is absolutely cool. Worth the money to come and see and explore much of history. They have really cool taxidermy and mounts for many animals found in North America and Africa. I like how they have everything sectioned off and it's easy to walk around and not get crowded by a bunch of people. hand sanitizer is found at the entrance of every exhibit. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They have a great paleontology staff member who knows a lot about dinosaurs. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because it's a little dated. However, I do love all the information that is provided.I found it funny that as I was walking through I would ask a question to myself and have it answered by something on the wall. To me that means it's a well put together museum.

  • Robyn Moore

The second time I came was better. The second time I went was on the weekend, there were plenty of people. It was spring break so they had crafts for the kids to do as well as their regular exhibits. They’ve got things for older and for younger kids to do and learn. I like the interactive exhibits that make sounds and smells and have screens, and you can make the dinosaurs roar the giraffes at the front are fun. The first time I went was during the week and it was raining so the place was pretty much empty and the place had a smell, especially downstairs. I feel like they are doing the best they can with what they have but there is room for improvement.

I was not sure what to expect but was so happy I went. While it was smaller then I expected they did such a great job utilizing the space they have. There are two Egyptian areas, one focused on the pyramids and the other Egypt and King Tutankhamun. Both featured on the first floor, along with a look at our oceans, amazing Dinosaurs, and beautifuly taxidermy of animals from all over with an area specific to Nevada. Down stairs is a wonderful person who is in a room working on uncovering the secrets of Nevada's prehistoric past, I truly suggest you stop in they are full of amazing information, beautiful as well as an African area and their gift shop. I recommend spending some time enjoying all there is to see and experience here

  • Alejandra Black

A fun little place to take the children. I would highly suggest following them on social media. They as of recently have had a lot of hands-on things going on. We actually just went to go see Santa Claus! There is no longer any type of vending machine so bring snacks but do be warned that the area that used to be The snack area where the vending machine is is now the gift shop. Which leads straight to and from the elevator. Can be bypassed if you go down the stairs right next to Egypt. They have a lot of cool spring break but you should check out lots of Hands-On crafts

This little museum was exactly what we expected for the location and price. The air was not working properly and I'm not sure I would be able to handle it in the height of summer. It was clean and fairly well maintained. One of the employees took some time to talk with my kids about the live animals and even gave a live demonstration of feeding the frog fish. While small, I think this Egyptology wing of the museum was one of the best I have seen. The replicated Tut's tomb but gave lots of engaging information and offered plenty of hand's-on engagement - great for kids. The adjacent park made it a great pass-through stop for our road trip.

  • Aiden Parent-Owens

It is quite empty with not many parts of history to learn about. The gift shop was disappointingly small, but it had some decent things to buy(Cool rocks, some shirts, toys, etc). The few attractions they did have, they did great at, though. I'm unsure if this place was worth $24 for two adults, though. Overall, this place has some great parts of history to learn about, it had a decent gift shop, but it costed $24 for 2 people. It's decent.

A wonderful museum! I love history and I learned a lot going there. Both adults and children will have tons to enjoy. For reference, I spent almost 3 hours there and still felt like I could do more. The place is open for Covid, the locations are all in good condition too. My favorite was the aquatic area, but there is so much to do there. Fossils, minerals, humans, dinosaurs, desert, egypt, and they even have a researcher on site! You can watch the researcher and see what kinds of science he is doing. In all, a rad location and well worth the admission.

  • Alexander Fellman

A very good little museum, making excellent use of space. The staff are friendly, the location is reasonably convenient, and the collection is top notch, even if some of the dinosaurs are slightly out of sync with modern scientific research. I would recommend bringing children. I would also tentatively recommend their King Tut exhibit, originally at the Luxor, over the slickly produced modern one now in place there, but preference.

This is a hidden gem! The exhibits were absolutely fun (I loved Egypt) and I know I would have enjoyed taking my nieces and nephew here. I knocked off one star because some of the aquarium tanks were empty with no explanation (like the sea anemones). I unfortunately didn't get a chance to ask about this while there. Otherwise though this is a really wonderful place that is much bigger on the inside than you would expect.

Great place. Been coming here for 12 years. It is a tradition that my wife and I have every time we come to Vegas. Her favorite is the king tut exhibit and mine is the aquatic and dino exhibits. There is also a park on site when kids can play and have a family bbq. Just make sure you bring coals if your going to use the BBQ. Bathroom is clean at the park as well. 20 bucks to get in and well worth it to beat the heat too.

There is so much to see here. Lots of taxidermy animals and neat looking dioramas. Probably the most impressive displays I have seen in a museum. They also have some live marine life. Their fossil exhibits were great along with their rock collection. If you are into ancient Egypt there is an entire section for that as well. Great place to learn for kids and adults. Free parking. Lots of discounts available including AAA!

It was fantastic and nostalgic! The museum is remodeling the exhibits and they're so family friendly! Loved every second, the staff were so nice and friendly and it just feels like a warm nostalgic hug! My husband hadn't been there in 20 years and he was just thrilled to see everything standing and revamped! Being your kiddies or bring your adult self! Entry is very affordable and the gift shop is adorable!

This place looked very plain and diserted from the outside, but it turned out to be on eod the coolest museums I have ever been to with my kids. DONT PASS THIS PLACE UP. A lot of the exhibits we're donated or funded by the largest casinos on the strip, and there were so many hands on things to do with the kids. Animatronic Dinosaur's, live sharks and stingrays, and so much more!

Our kids (ages 2 and 5) had a blast. A good variety of exhibits with hands-on displays for the kids. You can tell the building is old with some of the displays a bit run down. It was quiet on the outside and not too busy walking through for a Saturday morning. We'd recommend it for a fun, easygoing activity as a family. We spent about 2 hours going through everything.

Meh. I expected more. My son is a budding paleontologist so I took him hoping for a good dinosaur exhibit. Disappointing. Animatronics but no actual skeletons. Quite a few of the interactive exhibits had non working features like buttons that didn't do anything. For that price it's not bad. But compared to some of the other natural history museums we've visited in other cities it falls well below par. Some good points were the African exhibit and the Egyptian room.

  • juan Castillo

very kid and curious adult friendly. the davinci mechanics exhibit was so cool. there are some scale models you can test out for yourself. the museum is mapped out very easily so you can travel methodically through the building without missing an exhibit. give yourself 2 hours or more minimum to enjoy the videos, audios, and readings that go along with the artifacts. hope they continue to bring in more artifacts and exhibits. free covered parking too!

  • IndaGo Slime

We have a membership here and come at least monthly. The kids love to come for the dinosaurs, science room, and ocean room. They switch out exhibits seasonally and we love the variety. Staff is always friendly and we like to check out the gift shop as their stock changes too! Love the calming shark and fish aquariums.

Lots of animals dead and alive lol you can even pet a set of the bears I ALWAYS renew my membership because it’s worth it and not expensive at all.

A very interesting museum so many exhibits to see all about the natural history around the world we were here for about two hours going through all the exhibits some of them were very nicely done. We went because it was included in our go city pass. Had I spent my own money on it, I would probably be disappointed. This museum was probably great a decade ago. It doesn’t seem to have been updated recently. There were a few interactive features that were fun. Unfortunately a lot of the displays look old and worn down. Most of the items there are replicas or models of historic items.

This is a cool museum that is a lot bigger once you enter than it looks from the parking lot! It’s a good place to visit with kids or if you want to get away from all the traffic from the Strip. It’s also pretty cheap, and they have good discounts for seniors, students, etc. The Egyptian exhibit is my favorite!

Cute little museum with mixed up exhibitions. As I am used to big museums in Europe, this one is not that overwhelming with expositions, but nice feature is, many of the exhibits are interactive in some way. I enjoyed the mineral exposition and dinosaur exposition the most. I would recommend mainly for families with children, as they can learn trough interaction a lot. Staff was very nice and price for entrance was fair.

As a person that’s been into a huge real natural history museum in London and been into a lot of museums in different places. It’s very hard for me to get impressed. This museum is very little, there’s almost nothing to see, there’s a fee, and it’s very disappointing. I’m giving 2 stars for the effort.

the Las Vegas Natural History Museum has a lot packed in. A large part included taxidermy animals with informational signs grouped by regions. There is also an aquarium area with a wide variety of living fish and a large sand table. The Egyptian tomb exhibit is well done with several hands on stations. Usually they have a young scientist explorer section with hands on activities as well but it is currently COVID-Closed.

  • James McCoy

I really loved the Da Vinci exhibit. I was really impressed with the replicas and the ability to try out some of the machines. Also Brandon working in the learning lab area was awesome. Good for kids. Needs more donations to become top notch. Great price for entry though. I wanted to volunteer to help them clean the fish tanks and upgrade their animal habitats. I feel bad for the animals but thats just me. The Tutankhamun exhibit was good. African exhibit downstairs needs some help. Not everyone in Africa lives in huts and art is very touristy. The animal exhibits are nice.

Not as spectacular as the museums in LA, NY, or Chicago, but still very fun. You can see everything in about an hour and a half. Lots of interactive exhibits, push a button, here the Dino roar, see rocks and live scorpions.glow under blacklist, etc. Loved the tutankhamen exhibit. Journey through a part of the tomb, see what the archealogists saw! Exhibit ends 9/11.

  • Cherie Gue (cheriezee)

So much to see, and the facts to read are actually interesting. We were far from bored at this museum. Great for kids and adults. They even brought some live reptiles out to pet! They have a small gift shop and vending machines. $10 military/senior tickets when we went for Memorial Day weekend. It was worth it! Stroller friendly too. Spent about 2 hours here.

  • Malika J

I've given this place a five star becauae its GREAT for ages 5-10 and they can be educated on certain historical topics. If your looking for a more advance natural exhibit that shows you alot of authentic things then do not come here. However, great for young kiddos!

Cute little museum with a wide range of exhibits given it's size. The lighting could be better in some areas but it's worth the $10 admission and you can easily spend 2+ hours there. The staff we interacted with were super nice and welcoming to the museum. It was also neat to have some live animals in the museum as well as stationary exhibits.

  • Miriam Hernandez

We went here to waste a bit of time before our reservation at Hell's Kitchen. We actually enjoyed it. We took our time looking at each exhibit (aquarium, the taxidermy, desert, dinosaurs) but our time was cut short when I realized our reservation was an hour earlier than we thought. The staff was very pleasant. It wasn't crowded or loud.

  • Lucky S

The museum has about 10 different show rooms, it is great to get out of the 115 weather and see all the history. An employee told me that a lot of the fossils they have dug up came right from the Vegas Valley. The only thing that brought down my rating is the cleaninleness/ aged exhibits. My fav is the king Tut exhibit n Egypt room.

  • kiwi mama

Perfect size for two active and curious toddlers. Not so big, therefore, manageable! The museum has several different exhibits to explore. Loved their dianosaur exhibit as well as marine life room. We appreciated friendly staff answering questions and enjoyed hands on activities such as digging for fossils and riding toy dinosaurs!

  • Leannder McArthur

My son and I are from out of town. We took the Deuce and transfered onto the 113 bus near Freemount Street. We walked like for one minute to the museum after that. it is VERY affordable to get in. It is a lovely little museum with a lot in it. My teenage son and I enjoyed the escape from the crowds in a very interesting place.

I had a great time at this place. It's not crowded and there are a lot of exhibits. I was surprised by how much larger it seems inside, as compared to how large the building looks from the outside.

Great time with my dear friend and goddaughter. Fastest way to Africa from Vegas . Don't forget to hit the Gift Shop and buy the kids( or self) a bunch of critter toys. I fancy the rubber cockroaches myself , put them on your beer in the fridge and your lousy brother wont want to touch them anymore.

The good....King tuts tomb was fascinating. ASTC membership provides free entrance. Local Nevada history gave a lot of insight. The bad.... the entire place smells musty. The bulk of the museum is taxidermy animals. Not all the animals are in good shape. The aquarium section is just sad.

Been meaning to give this place 5 stars. I took my daughter there during Halloween and she had a good time there. The staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of historical knowledge available to fill your little ones' minds especially if they like wildlife. Great value and family time IMO!

  • Beverly Potter

AMAZING!!!! Did you know that dolphins are part of the whale family? That sharks lose teeth when they eat and replace as many as 25,000 teeth in a lifetime? That the teeth of a viperfish are so sharp and long that if it closed its mouth with the teeth inside, it would pierce its brain?

  • Dori Peck

I went with my daughter and 2 grandkids, the kids had a blast. They had a hands on activity for the kids to "build a snowman", fun and creative. The kids love the dinosaurs and animal displays, but their favorite is the ocean exhibit. Great way to spend the morning.

Great place to bring the young ones. We have been here for 10 minutes and there are lots of good learning activities already. Highly recommended for the inquisitive little ones.

The museum isn't as big as other museums but it is still a great museum to visit especially with kids. It has a great variety of displays. I loved watching the shark feeding.

Great place for kids. My 3 year old girls loved it. I got the 1 year membership for a family was 65$ & got a free dinosaur toy & they had free ice cream for when you leave.

This museum was small yet managed to be completely thorough. We especially enjoyed watching a real paleontologist in the lab processing 45 million year old mammoth teeth!

Good place to take your family for a day Entry fee is so affordable and all the animals you see in my photos they looks so real..because they are ...stuff and preserved

Super friendly staff. Nice Geo exhibit. Small but nice for a couple of hours with kids to learn something. Worth the price and you can get discount with AAA membership.

Fun, more extensive then you would think, and interesting stop to make on your trip to Vegas. We purchased a go city pass and tried to see as much as possible.

My son and I really enjoyed the Rainforest traveling exhibit and the Egypt exhibit. Don't forget to ask for you teachers discount and show your badge teachers.

It is a great educational place for children, but as an adult I didn't really enjoy it that much. Only the dinosaur display awakened my inner child …

This place is SO cool! Great exhibits and all sorts of things to learn! Make sure you give yourself a few hours to go thru it all. Highly recommend.

This was a nice, quaint museum, but very enjoyable. Not a lot of activity when I went with my housemate and his mother, but still enjoyable!

We’ve been to many Muesuems and this one is very good! Lots and lots to see. Expect to take 1-3 hours to see and interact with everything.

  • Robyn Van Valkenburg

Really fun, but I hope they update their exhibits sometime. Those poor taxidermy animals look so sad. The fossils are amazing though!

  • Jo Hernandez

Also, you’ll find a shark/fish, African, and desert animal exhibit. Relaxing little stroll around the museum with or without company.

I really did not expect such a fun and amazing display of wild animals. I would definitely recommend taking the kids here.

Wow!..such a fantastic reception and presentation from Dr. Kastle..100th celebration of King Tut..I had such a great time!

The displays were awesome, and they have a lot of fossils from Nevada. You can expect up to 2 hours exploring this place.

Wonderful learning experience. So much to experience and our little ones are still talking about this adventure.

  • Lee Buono
