I have been wanting to visit or get an order from this place since it first popped up on my FB feed, and I saw their wonderful food! Today was our lucky day. We were not far from the area, and finished an appointment at lunch time, and decided to check it out. It seems like they have the COVID stuff in check. Most tables are separated with plexiglass. I will say, with the exception of one accessible, every other one is bar stool height, so if this is a concern for you, be aware. I was able to sit comfortably along the back wall, where there is a bench seating for the tables, and are comfortable, but my husband had to sit on the higher chair across from me. If he was a bit shorter, like my height, it would have been uncomfortable for him. Also, it was a bit precarious for me, trying to get up to the bench. Yes, I guess I'm a bit short. Not the restaurants fault, just making other peopke, who are short like me are aware. Now, on to the important stuff. Service was great! Pepsi on tap was wonderful. I opted not to get the diet Pepsi, to save myself the frustration. We started with chips and dip. It was warm kettle chips with the most delightful dill dip. We were hungry, and chowed through that rather quickly. My husband had the "Classic Brekkie" and was very pleased, except that his eggs were not exactly on point, but really it wasn't the end of the world. I ordered the crispy chicken burger and a poutine for a side. The burger was one of the best I've ever had... just crispy, crunchy deliciousness! The poutine, was good enough. I think it could have used some salt or something, but.. eh. I still at every last bit of it, so it couldn't have been that bad, right? I would give this place 10 stars, if I could. It definitely held up to the hype. The food was amazing, Service was good, and we truly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be coming back to check out the new menu!

Leopolds is an amazing place. I've eaten here at least a dozen times in the past year (both dine-in and via skip the dishes) and have worked in food service. I know how hard it is to run a good restaurant, but of course am by no means an expert. Here's a breakdown: The food is delicious and consistant. Fries and meat are always properly cooked, and the sauces are rich and flavourful. I have asked for blue cheese sauce instead of ranch on the buffalo chicken poutine (my go to), and they have done it for both dine- in and on skip. Portions are a good size and I usually have leftovers. Presentation is good and nothing tastes like it's been sitting for to long in expo. As far as service, I have waited a bit long to see a server in the restuarant, but have never felt down right neglected and would attribute it to fairly normal occasional short staffing and/or enviable kitchen chaos. My dad (who has a busy job and eats out more often then not) has said that Leopolds has some of the best service he has ever had. It's become a regular place for us to eat and catch up. Some of my friends and I crave poutine from here specifically, even mentioning it gets our mouths watering! The vibe there is also awsome, and the dining room has so much to look at. Most of the decor is local and there is so much history and many compelling stories in what is plastered on the walls and ceilings. Overall I would say that Leopolds is quickly becoming a Western Canadian staple and it is one of my favorite places to eat.

Such a great place! Will definitely come back. After a fun time at COP, a friend and I were looking for a place that was close by and found this hidden gem in Bowness. As soon as we parked our cars we fell for this place. The whimsical atmosphere both inside and out brought smiles to our faces. From the trolley train at the entrance to the vintage polaroid photos adorning the walls, this place just radiates joy wherever you look. Even the bathroom has graffiti art that is most impressive. The service could not be any better. Our server was very sweet to us and her knowledge of the menu was on point. Every questions we had she answered like a pro. She also gave excellent recommendations for those of us who have a plant-based diet. Then whenever we needed a refill of our waters, she brought them posthaste. Definitely worth big tips this one! The food was absolutely delightful. A mix of classic canadian comfort food mixed with innovation and creativity. I had the impossible poutine which I was concerned that would be too big and greasy. Instead it was a perfect size, had the right amount of fresh and cooked ingredients, and tasted like a burger that those at home dream of. The cheesy garlic knots reminded me of home made in heaven. It was buttery, warm, and savory that warms you up from the inside out. This is a place you have to try at least once especially if you had a blast around the area itself. Do not deny yourself this dining experience. It is an absolute blast!

ELEVATED PUB FOOD with gluten-free/healthier options, and dishes made with love! It’s rare you find menu items and options like the ones at Leopold’s - you can tell they take so much pride in the recipes they create. They even have a seltzer on tap that is very similar to a white claw without loads of sugar. This really excites me and I wish more restaurants would do this. Breanna is a FABULOUS server by the way! She went above and beyond for us last night. I love that they offer a bucket of bacon and delicious homemade dips and dressings. You can tell even the guacamole and salsa is made from scratch. If you are a dill pickle fan, there are several options on the menu that will tickle your tastebuds with that dilly flavour! They even have dill pickle fish and chips with a gluten-free option. We will definitely be back to try this and so many of the other menu options. I am even sharing this on my foodie instagram account because it’s THAT GOOD! For a girl who avoids gluten and keeps carbs and sugar to a minimum, this place is like gold to me. There are definitely some keto options here as well with a few simple modifications. Keep up the amazing food quality, innovative recipes and outstanding service!

After receiving terrible slow service and cold food on a Sunday brunch we decided to try and dinner with a burger and taco’s…. We had Carson on both occasions, sadly this guy is the most terrible waiter we have experienced in a long time…. He stacks up the kitchen with as many orders as he can at the same time and does nothing but chat at the bar… I really wondered what he was up to so went to look for myself…. He needs some serious training and smoke less weed…. This place has so much potential but 1 hr wait for brunch when we got there, there was only two tables on the patio… Carson waited until it filled up and we were pushed to somewhere low in the food order…. No coffee was at hand…. The same thing happened to our disappointment at dinner… I feel bad for the chefs because their food was not coming to our table as they hoped, cold food on both occasions is not acceptable….. we didn’t get chance to order a second drink as Carson was too busy yapping inside than dealing with customers…. We can’t go back for a while unfortunately…. I hope management can watch their staff and make improvements….

Great bar, family friendly until 8 pm! My wife and I have a 2 month old baby and we wanted to go for wings so we ended up here after doing some research on local bars/restaurants. The menu looks amazing, so many foods I need to try and I plan on coming back often to try. The wings were not really for me, I ordered 2 batches of traditional and my salt and pepper order came as boneless and thus the salt and pepper did not stick. However, the rest of the food looks amazing so I will be coming back. The atmosphere is awesome, great decorations all over the bar, very nice patios and a unique layout. We came on Tuesday also for taco day with our dogs, tacos were amazing!

Looks newish from outside, then you walk in and it's a small and loud (ish) spot with all kinds of cool stuff on the walls making it feel like a Tavern that you could be a regular in! Servers were really great! It was a cold rainy day and sadly the heat didn't seem to be on in the main area, when my husband is cold, it's cold. Our food got cold quick due to this. Our food was pretty good. Nachos are pretty layered, amazing amount of salsa and sour cream then most restaurants I've been to.... guacamole could have used this bigger portion cup for the $2 extra we paid for it. My Buffalo wrap was good but lacked in buffalo sauce so I had to ask for more. Didn't care for the pickles in my wrap so will go without if I get it again. Poutine, I expected more for taste honestly. It was ok, fries were half warm but I was so hungry I just mixed the hot gravy to heat the cooler parts. Prices area bit higher then I would like to pay....a bit, not much though. We would probably go back again and give it at least one more try.

We’ve been eating at Leo’s for years (both dine-in and takeaway) and it’s always been stellar. Hands down the best fried chicken sandwich in the city and my wife has always enjoyed the poutine. Tonight however is the first time we have both been disappointed with the food (takeaway). The chicken burger was definitely not the usually incredible buttermilk-fried consistency and my wife’s poutine was similarly just somehow blah and less appetizing than we have come to expect, even with takeaway which has never been disappointing. We’re hoping and expecting this was a one-time/one night anomaly and not a shift to new recipes or quality. This is our last week in Calgary before moving out of the province for good and we were hoping for a better send-off, but we’ll always love Leo’s regardless. Thanks for the memories!

This place has the potential to be awesome, sadly the food is terrible & the service just about as bad as the food. Table for 4, we ordered 2 appies, 4 entries. We saw the server 1 time and the host 3, once to seat us, once to check on us and once to pay. Hand cut fries, but they cooked the literal life out-of them. Dill Pickle Fish was flavorless & dry. Mac & Cheese also dry and tasted of the flour used in the rue. Bucket of bacon would have been better if the bacon was cooked and not just warmed. Fried pickles were good Clubhouse was so dry we dipped in Ketchup to make it slide down Burger was good. Curly fries came with a "Chipotle" sauce that should definitely have a warning on it, was hotter than the droves of Helll. All in all, the place 100% didn't meet the hype, wouldn't go again, wouldn't recommend. 1/10 ⭐️ because the building it's self was great.

Stopped by Leopolds for lunch and a couple beers with coworkers. It was pretty busy, and they seemed extremely understaffed. We waited close to half an hour for our first round of beers. The food was hot and tasty! I just had a cheeseburger and curly fries. It was great. Its hard for me to enjoy my visit though when the wait time for a drink is so long. The parking was also bot ideal, I had to park a couple blocks away. I’m not sure this is my favourite Leopolds location, but I would probably give it another try someday.

Heard lots of great things about this place, and wanted to try it out. Atmosphere is fantastic and drinks were great. Food though was just okay. Appetizer came fast and hot, but that’s when things came crashing down. My burger was okay, but patty was overcooked. My Mother in Law had to return her cheeseburger as patty was black and rock hard. My wife had the Chicken Sandwich with a side of poutine. Sandwich was okay, though bun was burnt, but the poutine was cold and the cheese curds sat unmelted. Our dinner came about 40 minutes after ordering, just felt like it had sat on the line for 10-15 minutes drying out before being brought to our table. Overall, pretty disappointing considering the price of everything.

When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated. We then waited 15 minutes for the server to come and take our drink order. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy but things like this just kept happening. The fries in the poutine were over cooked and burnt, and the lemon pepper wings did not have the seasoning distributed properly. The ranch was like soup and hardly even stayed on the wings. In the middle of our meal we ran out of drinks for 5-10 min and the server didn’t come and check up on us. When we finally were able to order a drinks she took a really long time to bring them and by that point we were ready to leave. My husband was super excited to come here and honestly was were super disappointed

Went in yesterday and it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Table ordered 2 poutines, fries and wings. Took more than 45 minutes for the food to arrive. When the food was brought out it was ice cold. Fries were so hard they were almost inedible, and the server did not quality check so we were not able to return the food. When we let her know after we paid she rolled her eyes and said “I wish you would have told me” which, again, was impossible since she never came to the table. As a fellow member of the restaurant industry it was hard for me to write this review, however, the food and service yesterday was so terrible I felt a societal obligation to write a review.

Super thanks to the workers there tonight for the great services and awesome food!! Had a great chat and a nice dinner when i got back home. Perfect experience. PERFECT!! It's like the TARDIS. Small entry point and a surprisingly large and lovely pub /sports bar atmosphere. Check out the posters and signed selfies scattered across lots of surfaces, walls and ceilings. Sadly I was excited for ordering from here as I’ve order before with no issues but this time whoever is cooking doesn’t seem to care about how the food is actually coming out. My buffalo chicken wrap is more like a soggy stir fry wrap with very little chicken. Also waiting for the food at the restaurant for 15 minutes while it was there caused too to be cold by the time we sat to eat it even with us living only a couple minute walk home. Can’t say this is always but today was disappointing. I would have been happier eating McDonald’s tonight and I would have saved a decent coin.

Leopolds has always been a nice place to go. Unfortunately we came on Labour Day. Ordered wings and kettle chips, then after ordering was given the Monday special menu showing us what we could have ordered( and would have) if we hadn’t ordered already. It put me off and was trying not to be upset for the rest of this our time there. The server was really nice, recommended nice things…. The ball was dropped by her when the gentleman behind the bat gave us the ‘bucket Monday’ menu after we had ordered and eaten. Still a good place to go.. we just came when an obviously good staff were having an off day.

Busy place with many tables to seat their guests. Staff were friendly but took a while to get our orders and for the food to arrive. The Thanksgiving poutine could have had a but more cranberry sauce and more stuffing (a few croutons were included). When we asked for the bill, we had to wait a while for that to come. Management could be improved so that more guests could be helped sooner and seen trhoguh to allow for other guests waiting to enjoy the atmosphere. Be sure to come here when you don't have another engagement to attend. The atmosphere is a great place to lay back and enjoy the company of your friends with food and a variety of music :)

I had their “Garlic Bread Bombs” & was disappointed. The lack of cheese and presentation of this dish was a turn off. They skip out on the quality and amount of cheese used. This dish should be served on a plate / pizza plate so the bread does not stick to the parchment paper! It would’ve been more appetizing if it was presented better. I took 1 bite and threw the rest out. I had to ask my server twice for more water. She just was not on the ball and started to pour on the patio so our lunch was cut short. The patio could’ve been covered better with heating.

Had the beef dip, which I really appreciate being on garlic bread; it adds that extra bit that makes it stand out from other beef dips. Only complaint is that it was much smaller than expected and had very little beef on it. From photos it seems to be pretty packed so maybe just a busy night? Unfortunate, as the flavours and au jus were great. Fries were meh- standard pub fries. Not bad, just not super memorable. Would maybe try again in hopes of a fuller sandwich, but as is, not necessarily worth the $23.

Got a spot out front to park. Busy place but found a table with bar chairs but then a table came available. The staff were amazing. Very accommodating, friendly, efficient and lots of positivity. Food was prepared fresh, came to the table hot and very tasty. Definitely worth the money spent. We were a group of 3 so shared bucket of bacon and garlic bread bombs (hot, soft and tasty). Enjoyed: dill pickle burger, Crispy chicken burger and the perogie poutine.

I live right near Leopolds and have tried to have a half decent meal there several times - it just keeps getting worse. Today I enjoyed a beer but had to send the soup of the day back. It was the most pitiful onion soup I had ever seen in my life. It came with brutal onion water broth, onions weren't cooked down, and no toast or cheese. I asked them to put the missing ingredients into the soup and they just threw some cheese on it. I sent it back and the server agreed that it looked horrible.

My new favorite little neighbourhood tavern. This place is welcoming and I love it. Paula has been my server everytime I've been there and she is amazing. I appreciate how she treats me and my baby.

Ordered through Uber for my son and I. Completely wrong order sent. Not 1 item was correct. No phone in the restaurant to call (just a recording that says to call Uber) and Uber’s help line (in app) won’t respond. Complete lack of customer service and no effort made to inspect orders prior to sending them out. More

Had the deep fried pickles, delicious! The postings are amazing! Small is perfect to share, large is definitely a meal. The juke burger was a little dry and didn't have a lot of flavor.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff is awesome. But the food is fantastic and so are the drinks. Long Island ice tea was the best we've had, and the taquitos with dill sauce were my favorite. The Applewood smoked chicken was a hit with my son. Will definitely be going back many times. More

Food and service was great as always. The dog patio was nice for my pup, but they had a lot of black flies in the middle with the shrub and it was a little annoying. Probably someone poured beer into the bush casing the flies to gather there

Casual vibe, friendly server. Great music just a tad too loud for comfortable table talk. Large order of nachos was pricier than I’ve paid elsewhere but also larger & more evenly/generously layered than at any other venue I’ve ordered at.

Careful with happy hour. On Saturday at 3:50 PM we stopped as we saw the sign that clearly said “happy hour 3-6”. When we sat we were told that was for weekdays, but Saturday is 11-3. So, be careful.
