Unfortunately I am another one of the 1-star reviews which seem to be compiling regularly for the manly road vet. We recently lost our beloved malamute (not even 5 years old) to a paralysis tick. My experience with the staff was very money focused and very little compassion (albeit there were one or two staff which actually showed sympathy which I greatly appreciated). I quickly rushed my pet to this vet on the Monday afternoon when I discovered she had trouble standing. From there over the next three days she was placed under their care. Mixed messages were received and we couldn’t see our poor pup in ICU. We received a devastating call on Wednesday (just hours after we received good news that she was recovering well) and that we had to come in and say our ‘goodbyes’. Yes, we were that family with two younger children crying our eyes out at the front on Wednesday night. We were then asked to take a seat while they prepare our poor pup for viewing. Instead, what we received was a nurse who came out with photos of our pup under anaesthetic in ICU on an iPhone.. they didn’t want us entering due to COVID protocols. I literally had to threaten to kick in the door to get me and my family inside to say our final goodbyes. They quickly realised I was serious and offered us in with ‘masks’ and my 3-year old son had to wear one as well (never seen that regulation at anytime.. even during the peak of the pandemic for his age bracket).. This is incredibly heartless. COVID is no longer an excuse to treat people inhumanly. By now, the majority of us have experienced COVID. Yet, here we all are.. still alive. This vet needs an entire rework of their protocols as they are completely irrational. What makes this entire experience worse is that I brought my pup in on Sunday (one day before she was admitted). I approached them and stated that she didn’t seem herself, she was vomiting intermittently and appeared drained of energy. They didn’t even bother to check her over or have a look - their response was “it’s most likely kennel cough”.. This lack of due diligence in simply having a quick check of my best friend on that day would have significantly increased her chance for survival in this circumstance. Yet nobody cared.. Overall, I have lost my best friend and my family is unbelievably heartbroken. What made this even worse was that it felt like we’ve also been at war with the vet the entire time. Interesting how we had to pay the rest of a $6k invoice strait after the euthanasia as well. Perhaps give it 48 hours for families to grieve first rather than just looking for the next cash deposit. I’m lost for words now. Nothing can bring my best friend back. And please don’t bother responding to this message with excuses. The information is there to make educated decisions on what needs to change. So just change it and become the kind, loving place this vet once was back when we first brought our pup in 2017. Thank you. RIP darling. My kids are still waiting for you to come home and play with them at the doggy park.. You are very loved and will be forever missed. Xxx

We took our 4 year old German Shorthaired Pointer Billie into Manly Road Veterinary Hospital last Saturday early in the morning. We had taken her to our local vet two days prior however her condition worsened including some concerning symptoms so we jumped into the car and drove straight over. We’d never been to MRVH before however I’d been reading reviews of emergency veterinary hospitals just in case and based on this and your website chose to avoid going to a clinic slightly closer to our house who doesn’t have the positive reviews MRVH does. I’m so glad we made this decision as we had the most incredible experience with MRVH, with special thanks to Dr Tamille who is an absolute angel. Billie ended up spending over 24 hours in their care and although it was very difficult to leave her when she was so sick not knowing what what wrong, we walked away feeling as though our much loved dog was in the best hands. Throughout her time in hospital at MRVH we received several updates throughout the day and in the evening with the last update at our request late PM which was a call from Dr Tamille who saw Billie when she first admitted early AM that same morning. Dr Tamille went above and beyond and showed us that she really understood our dog who had no history with MRVH, she moved her beside her desk and put up a privacy curtain to help soothe her anxiety and get a good rest to aide recovery. It‘s gestures like these that I think show you the high level of care and thought somebody has towards a sick animal. In our experience we feel Dr Tamille went above and beyond and is a kind and highly skilled Vet. I didn’t think I’d sleep a wink with Billie being so sick she needed to spend a full 24 hours+ in care, I can say with absolute certainty that last call from Dr Tamille helped me sleep that night. From being admitted to the discharge process and follow up call a few days later, we had a fantastic experience and will recommend MRVH to anybody as the team appear highly skilled and very caring. Thank you for everything from Emily, Bryan and Billie.

Absolutely disgraceful conduct!!! The only reason I gave 2 stars is because 1 of the reception staff were new and learning the ropes, I feel for her and hope she can move on and not get caught up in the practices that this team deems acceptable! The vet would not treat our beloved pet until we had deposited at least $1000 and then still complained that we should be dropping $2000! My wife had to rush out before she broke down crying for the vet not to see. Once we had deposited the $1000, my daughter(9yrs old) and myself had to restrain our pet for the vet to inject her in the stomach. Rang the clinic at 8am the next morning for an update and were told we’d get a call back shortly. 4 more phone calls throughout the day by us for an update and eventually got a call back after 6pm. After approximately 35 seconds of info on our beloved pet we were questioned about the bill and asked to deposit more money. The bill was settled the next afternoon apart from an agreed $140 for another overnight stay without monitoring. Came in this morning to collect our little one and was hit with anotherr $600+ to get her out. Once I questioned the bill I was left hanging. All the other poor customers of this almost criminal service were (while I was present) leaving with there pets- some treated and some told to go elsewhere! I was made to pay extra to get my pet out and when I complained about the service and questioned how they calculate prices was met with resistance. From the veterinary staff to the nice receptionist who turns nasty once you question their protocols you are nasty!

My partner and I attended this veterinary hospital last night to say goodbye to our beloved pet rat. Before we went there we called and were told that we could have a private room whilst it was happening. The ladies we spoke to were friendly and caring. As soon as we arrived we realised we were mislead and deceived. The vet came out and was very cold and had no empathy. We asked the vet to have a quick look over our beloved pet and the vet grabbed our pet and turned and walked inside without saying a word. When the vet came back out it was decided that we would say goodbye. The vet turned to take our beloved pet inside without us and we asked about the private room. The vet seemed annoyed and said follow me. Once in the private room the vet left the room and told us to knock on the door once we were ready. The vet came back in after about a minute and just sat there making us feel uncomfortable and rushed. We were deprived those precious final moments with our beloved pet and we did not get the goodbye that we needed. The next day the cremation placed called the vet and was told that our beloved pet was not there. After some confusion from the vet the situation was sorted. Overall the vet who we saw was cold, uncaring and has no empathy. The reception area being in the front in the cold and blaming COVID when no other place is doing this. We will never go and see this vet again or go to this veterinary hospital again. If I could give this a minus score I would.

I attended in April 2022 with my dog to have her rabies vaccination for up and coming travel to UK. The vet we saw was very inexperienced and raised my anxieties about my dog stating in her opinion she would die during the journey because she had a heart murmur. Although my dog had been fully assessed by a cardiologist and the murmur considered a minor level. The vet Jacqueline Hewitt continued to repeat several times animals are left on the tarmac in the heat waiting to be loaded onto the plane, given no water, length of the flight to uk would result too much strain on her heart & result in her death therefore I should consider very carefully whether to take her. I was extremely upset which my dog picked up on. This in turn had a negative effect on the presentation of her heart murmur during the consultation - not acknowledge by vet Jacqueline Hewitt. Subsequently having a assessment from a more qualified experienced vet prior to travel I was assured my dog was fine to travel. Yes My beautiful dog Lotti arrived safely in the UK and was well cared for throughout the journey. I would not recommend this vet and would dread taking my pet for a consultation again with Jacqueline especially if it was something serious - learn from this Jacqueline the transference of fear/ anxieties from the you - get some MORE training and understand your attitude is very unhelpful for the animal/worried owner. Ps the other staff were very supportive!!

I have been mostly happy with Manly road vets up until my last visit. I called in the morning for my cat asking if I should bring her in with possible uti symptoms. I brought her in a bit later on and the consult itself was fine. The male vet suggested the hills special diet for my cat, and I didn’t mind the suggestion until he kept pushing for it. Instead of asking me directly if I wanted to get a bag, he grabbed one off the shelf after the appointment, placed it in the counter and told the receptionist to add it to the bill. I was shocked that never once did I say I wanted to purchase it nor was I ever asked. I asked the lady how much it was to which she replied $115 for a 1.8kg bag. I said I would leave it and shop around. She replied you can only get it from the vet as its prescription. I left very dissapointed and angry at how much the up selling of my appointment was pushed. It didn’t feel genuine, it felt like an opportunistic sale on their behalf. What’s worse is I googled the food when I got home and saw pet circle sells the same one for $49. I also checked my invoice when it was sent to my email and was charged for an emergency consult at a higher price when it was mid morning appointment they offered me, no different to a standard consult I would of booked where a vet asks do you have any concerns today?I am appalled at my experience this time around. I will not be returning to this vet, you have lost me as a customer.

Manly Road Veterinary Hospital has been my choice for the last 12 years, and even though it requires a 40 minute drive, I couldn’t be happier with the care they consistently provide. The 24/7 availability offers peace of mind knowing I can park safely in a well-lit location and access top-quality care at any time. What I especially appreciate is the compassionate and supportive care offered to both patients and pet owners. This happens consistently at the point of reception through to the dedicated medical team led by Dr Christine and Dr Pauline. Right from arrival, there is a feeling of reassurance so that pet owners appear relaxed enough to chat with others in the safe waiting area. You don’t have to worry about agitated or unwell pets feeling anxious. There is sufficient space to find a quiet waiting spot. Access to good coffee also helps. What I appreciate most is the way all the vets thoroughly explain the medical condition, treatment options, and are always open to answering my questions, all the while gently reassuring my dog. There is a sense that the emotional well-being of the pet owner is just as important as the physical well-being of the patient. The expertise and dedication of vets and nursing staff is second to none. I highly recommend MRVH to anyone in need of exceptional veterinary assistance. Jane and Minny

My dog was hospitalized for 2 days due to a gastro with vomiting and diarrhea. She had some IV fluids, ultrasound, injections etc and we’re grateful she’s back home alive and eating. A couple of issues that form my 3 star review: #1 feedback - oh dear, you really need to work on this. How is it possible that I call at 1pm to check on my dog - “doctor’s busy now, she’ll give you a call back”. Ok. 3pm no call, I dial again - doctor’s busy she’ll call you back. Right, ok. 8pm I call again - doctor’s busy, I THINK she has eaten, you can come pick her up tomorrow ~ rushes to hung up. Next day I go pick my dog up and at the discharge the doctor says “my colleague called you this morning” - what morning - no one has called me for over 24hours and they also had my husband’s number just in case. I had no idea how my dog is doing for so long! #2 After we paid about $3000 for 2 days of tests I should seriously reconsider what I do for living. I mean, what could I possibly work that would pay me so well that I can afford to spend $3000 over 2 days on a sudden health issue with my dog? Prices for vet services are just so high, and if it’s true that vets don’t get paid too high, I’m not sure where it all goes but then for $3000 I at least need to receive a proper feedback on my dog’s current state as a good customer service.

I took my greyhound for an emergency (dog attack) and they treated her well to start with but then they made more damage to her skin. I needed to go back every 3/4 days to change her bandage and I never had the same vet. They do not seem to communicate about the issues between them. They put elastoplast on the top of her bandages and irritated her skin badly to the point it bled. Greyhounds have very thin skin and they ripped her skin off. This was totally unnecessary as she has never touched her bandages since the beginning. After 45 minutes of bandage change, the vet admitted to me that it was really hard to get it off and there was no need to put elastoplast as she doesn’t touch it. It took 2 weeks to heal and my dog kept licking it. A couple of weeks later, I went on holidays and my friend took her to her appointment. When I came back from holiday, I realised my greyhound had elastoplast again! I was furious as I already told them not to put any elastoplast on her skin (with no under layers). I went back in the morning and told them but they didn’t seem to listen and care. Eventually they removed the elastoplast because they knew it was wrong and how upset I was. I will avoid it in the future.

I visited this vet on Saturday (31/07/2021) with my 16-week old Frenchie. She had had a bad fall at home and we thought she had some sort of injury as her back legs were not working properly. Without running any tests, I was told that I would have to put my baby down because she has a serious disorder that she would not be able to recover from, and was even brought out a box of tissues with a consent form. We then took her to the Underwood Emergency Vet and they were nothing but accommodating, ran tests and monitored her for over 5 hours. At around 6pm, they informed us that she was back to 70% health but would recommend for her to stay over night to make sure, there were no discussions about any disorder or health issues, they said it would just be a concussion from the fall, and it should subside within 12 hours. We then picked our baby up the next morning, and come Tuesday (03/08/2021), she is back to running around and her happy self. My family and I are very disappointed in the services and efforts put in towards our little girl from this vet, and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else!!

I visited this huge vet practice a while ago with my old cat. This vet practice was recommended by my neighbour's friend who walked her dog. I first made an inquiry on costs by email. No reply. I made a phone call to make an appointment. That was smooth. It was really busy when I visited and the receptionist tried to find a dog even when I made an appointment and was with my cat in a carry case... The waiting room was very noisy and busy but clean. Clients kept coming in and talked very loud. It showed their popularity and scale of the business. I got used to a smaller vet, so felt a bit uneasy. People including vet nurses kept coming in and going out. The vet was nice enough, but less caring comparing to my previous vet who treated my cat like a child, not one of their patients. They are professional other than leaving me for 5 minutes while the vet went somewhere to take vaccine. It is OK, just not up to my expectation as the neighbour's friend recommended them so much. Maybe good for dog owners, but not cat owners with an old and nervous cat...

We had a really poor experience here. The vet who saw our elderly, frail dog had no bedside manner and literally stabbed him with a needle that is known to be a notoriously painful needle. Our dog was traumatised. So was I. I reported the incident via writing and it took me to write a follow up to that letter a week later as I had heard nothing from them. They finally called and me back over a week later and after two emails. They apologised and told me it was a difficult needle. Nothing I didn't already know. They said they would follow it up. I didn't intend on writing a review, I much prefer sorting things out in person as i wanted to via communication with the clinic. However, I want other owners of old dogs to be cautious of who treats them so that you don't have to go through what we did. We would only go back on an emergency due to their 24 hour care. It's such a shame because we have had great experiences up until now. I just can't trust this clinic now. I hope they seriously look into this incident.

Horrible experience! Take your beloved pet anywhere but here. They will say due to Covid is why nobody is aloud in however, every other place in Brisbane is operating as normal. This clinic has just used half of the waiting area as storage and finds it easier having patients outside rather then inside “pestering” the VET/Nurses. Which is completely fine but stop blaming “covid” and just be honest with your customers. The staff will ask for your payment before you’ve even got too see your pet and actually know what’s been treated. Another couple was outside crying to the left of me assume they had to put there pet down, they weren’t offered to be taken too a smaller space. Then another woman on the right side of me crying her eyes out and didn’t know what had been going on. This place has gone completely down hill and anybody who sends there pet here will not be getting good care for there animal. I don’t know how this place is even still running.

  • Alison Mac

Disorganised rude and totally lacking in compassion and arrogant in their approach to you. We went there for many years paid thousands and eventually said enough is enough. Despite having firm appointment time each time it was a wait for hours to get seen. Never by same person twice, then spend another half an hour or so while front counter attendant fumbles around, inevitably getting expensive bill wrong - or there's a 25 minute queue just to pay for well over average fees. Many times they ordered essential medicines and phoned us to collect, only then to be told the medicine wasn't there, or had never been ordered in first place. Other clients had same experience, presenting with critically I'll pets only to find their appointment had been bumped for hours or told mindless false excuses. Found another vet much cheaper more caring and better,

had to take my 12 year old staffy yesterday morning as he was not well at all I was greeted but the Scottish lady sorry I never got her name I was 30 minutes early and she made me feel so welcome and came out to the the car to look at my very sick boy thank you for been so caring they even let me into one of the rooms early so I could get the dog comfortable then I met doctor Emily she was so kind and caring amazing she was and we done some blood tests which didn’t turn out to good so we had to put my boy down I just want to thank Emily and everyone that works in that vet it was a horrible day but all the friendly staff helped me through it I wasn’t rushed I will be getting another dog eventually and I’ll be definitely back to see you guys thank you so much for making such a hard day a lot easier Kind regards paul abbey

Would not recommend I took my cat in a couple days ago worried for her well-being they didn’t let us go into the room said they couldn’t do anything and my cat would be fine come to find out 4 days later my cats bleeding in my kitchen and is now ongoing surgery I think the service was really poor and clearly they don’t not care much for the animals and did not do a proper check on my poor girl who was in pain the days leading up to finding another vet this unfortunately isn’t the first time in my family where they have messed up with our cats my Aunty spent 30,000 at a specialist after they had done a kidney stone surgery and got it wrong I’m very dissatisfied in the care your vet provided and feel we should be refuned as we didn’t get the care we paid for.

  • Corinne Madden

How naive/stupid was I to think people become vets because they love animals it’s all about the money I took my beautiful dog who was a month off needing her next tick application to manly vet there first response was it was going to cost me between $6000-$8000 I burst into tears and said I don’t have that kind of money and could I please get her put down how much have you got they said $1500 in the bank and I could get another $500 if they could give me a day or so in the end I don’t think they gave her any treatment and the next morning I had to pay for her to get put down anyway the most harrowing day of my life and I will never forgive or forget and I actually think it was because I’m indigenous and that is even sadder $3000 and I left with a dead dog

  • Natasha Lamont

Have been going here for 5 years with my dog until now. Extremely frustrated with the service of late. Very quick to book my dog in for X-rays $. I dropped him at 8am and returned at 5pm to collect him to find he had not been seen yet. all I got was a Snappy comment saying if I hadn’t been called then he wasn’t ready. My dog was already frightened to be there let alone all day and evening. Appreciate emergencies arise. A phone call would have been suffice. Didn’t get to collect him until 9.30pm that night. Now I am still waiting for a phone call re treatment/surgery Over a week later. Have called and was told I’d be phoned back. No call. Meanwhile my dog is in pain. Sadly I won’t be returning. Very poor customer experience for more than average prices.

What an amazing experience we have had with this vet. Unlike any other, and even though it's 1.5 hours from us and there are many closer vets, I won't take my pets anywhere else ever again. They were a quarter of the cost of the other place we visited first, for 10 times the work put in when my pup suffered a traumatic injury. Their bedside manner is beyond compassionate and kind. My pup, even though she has been through so much, runs wagging to greet the staff, like they're dear old friends. I just couldn't ask for anything more. 24/7 service, photos texted to me to let me know how she was going, I could just go on and on. Dr. Pauline and the whole team actually care about your pets. Truly care. It's noticed, and it's so appreciated. Thank you all.

  • Shonny Wilson

Couldn’t be happier with the experience with this vet, given our girl Maisie is our first puppy and she’s only 13 weeks old, you could imagine the anxiety we were filled with when we were called from a friend who was pet sitting that she had a gash on her shoulder that was quite deep. Thankfully we could just walk straight in with Maisie at 430pm in the afternoon. Dr Kerry and the team who was on on Saturday afternoon/night did an amazing job, and we received the phone call to pick up our girl within 4 hours of dropping her off. The reception staff were super compassionate and friendly and made leaving our girl that bit easier. She’s been as cheeky as ever and you wouldn’t think anything was wrong the next morning. Thank you so much team!

  • Kate Haymes

While the vets kind, empathetic and caring the administration staff were hopeless and require empathy training. I was told to ‘have a good day’ when I was talking to them about when to come in to euthanise our injured kitten, then I was asked ‘how are you? Other than this?’ when going to say goodbye to her. Then at the end they overcharged us, claiming that they asked us if we wanted to use the credit towards the bill, but we weren’t asked. Why would you leave a credit at a place you’ve never been to before and your animal just died at? Seriously it’s not hard to make things easier for people grieving or just following a basic good administrative process keeping the client in mind. The prices were ok considering the care given.

  • Bum Scorchos

Extortion is the best way to describe this place. No idea how they have the rating they have, as this place is a joke. My dog had a small cut which they advised would cost me $1100 to stitch up. I refused and they tried to guilt trip me and made me feel generally horrible for not coughing up the cash. It was just passed 6pm so my usual vet was closed. I paid their unreasonable consult fee after waiting almost 90mins (consult took 90 seconds) then went home with my dog to clean up the wound. Took my dog to my local vet the next day who decided it's borderline but still put in 3 stitches to make sure it healed up quickly. My local vet charged $300 including consult, stitches and meds. Don't let them screw you.

Last night when I returned home after work, I noticed my blind 13-year old dog Buddy was missing from my back yard. Luckily, he was picked up and turned into the vet clinic. I would like to say how beautifully they cared for and loved Buddy. He walked through some weeds or a bush and got covered in seeds, the staff at the clinic were kind enough to wash him and get him looking back to normal before he came home. I was so worried due to his age and blindness, but felt so much comfort when I saw how well they looked after him. They treat their pets with love, I will definitely bring Buddy here for his next and all future check ups!

I brought my cat in at 10pm on a Saturday because of urinary problems. They checked her straight away and established no blockage (meaning not urgent), so I waited until a vet was available to discuss the issues. They tested the urinary sample I had brought with me while I waited, and it wasn't very long until I saw the vet. She was friendly, thorough, caring, and knowledgeable. The cost was a bit high, but worth it for possible emergency situations and when you don't want to wait for a regular vet appointment because your pet might be in pain. I'm so grateful for after-hours vets, and the one I dealt with was amazing.

My cat started behaving strangely at 9pm on a Saturday night. As she was clearly in some distress I wasn't sure I should leave it till the morning so I contacted Manly Road Vet and they told me to come straight down. The staff were all lovely and, although they seemed quite busy, my cat was seen to quickly. This was my first experience with an emergency vey and it cost nowhere near as much as I feared having listened to people's stories. The vet spent the time to make sure I understood my cat's special requirements and the next steps I needed to take. A very positive experience at a very trying time.

During the hard time of putting down an old sick pet Manly Road 24hr Veterinary Hospital really help my family out especially on a public holiday when your local vet is shut. The outdoor area where the procedure was preformed was beautiful and calm and felt like a picnic at a friends house my dog was relaxed and she was in no stress the whole time. Thank you so much for making a hard time peaceful and rememberable. We noticed the love heart on her arm bandage and it was a lovely touch, as well as the postcard. Keep up the good work you are a great team. 10 stars

  • Nigel White

BEWARE OF THIS VET. Be AWARE you are not allowed in your consultation with your beloved. You will have to wait in car park until a vet comes out. In my case a already traumatised cat waiting in the same area as a loud barking dog. If you question this procedure your public enemy number 1. STAY AWAY IF YOU CARE FOR YOU FUR FRIEND. If this is important to you stay away from this vet. In my case Diagnosis was wrong. I could go on, oh they actually tried to tell me he should be on there dry food for life. Money orientated

  • NADA MALLINSON

Really grateful for the exceptionally empathetic staff. I did not take my pup here expecting to have to put her down due to the untreatable nature of her condition however I fully trusted the staff with their decision as they had done so many tests and gave me a full rundown of all their test findings. They let my family have as much time as we needed with my girl both before and after she passed which I am extremely thankful for. Thank you Manly Road Vet for taking such good care of my pup on her last day.

Unfortunately due to (another Vets services negligence) I lost my beautiful little boy doggie & eternal loved family ❤ by the time I got to Manly Road Vets. Manly Road Vets were amazing in my loss, time with my pet, compassionate staff & even aided me with pet crematorium aid for him. I can never thank this wonderful Vet service enough as I was distraught beyond words I highly recommend this humanitarian service who truly care about our beloved pets & financial circumstances. Thank you

Our beloved labradoodle recently suffered a twisted stomach...we took him to Manly Rd late at night and he was quickly diagnosed...it was super stressful....but the staff there are nothing short of amazing. Ned underwent immediate surgery .....Miraculously he recovered and his hospital care and the communication were outstanding. Thankyou to the wonderful, and so very hard-working staff who face such incredible daily emergencies and handle them all with diligence and sheer pure professionalism.

  • Kahlia Schubert

I cannot thank the staff enough for their help and advice with Miss Bliss who had a whopping 18 puppies last Friday with the last removed by an emergency cesarean. The 14 surviving babies are thriving and mum is doing great, but we popped in today for a follow up as she had some bleeding that we were concerned with. The care and compassion from all the team was so incredible. We knew we made the right choice as soon as we walked in the doors. Thank you again! You’re our new go to vet! ❤️

  • Tracey Jensen

Great vets! Took my dog in without an appointment after work one evening last week as came home to a very sick pup. Very very busy! The waiting room was full at 7pm!! The lady behind the desk was very caring and compassionate, took charge of a very hectic situation and was friendly, professional and upfront about wait times.. even offered me a cup of tea!! The vet was incredible and completely calmed me down and treated my baby as if he was her own. Will definitely be going back!

We have been taking our family pets to Manly Rd Vet for the last 13 years. They have been there at any time, for any need and have saved our pets lives. We recently lost our family dog and they went above and beyond to support our family through such a difficult time. They made the environment as soothing as possible and sent the sweetest heartwarming note afterwards that touched our family. We are grateful and so thankful and will continue to support such a wonderful business.

I rushed my 8 year old cat to Manly Road Vet for emergency surgery. I was hysterical and the staff, in particular Juanita, Donna and Theresa were so understanding and helpful. They gave me hugs, bought me a coffee and comforted me during a really scary and horrible time. I will be forever grateful to them for providing me with such love as I was able to leave feeling ‘okay’. Thank you to this wonderful team, for caring so deeply for Molly and my family. Forever grateful!

Where do I begin! I can't recommend or compliment this vet enough! Firstly, the pricing is beyond fair and reasonable in comparison to other 24h vet's on the south side of Brisbane. Secondly, the level of care and compassion that all the staff show towards the animals and the owners is simply beautiful. I genuinely hope that all the staff here know how appreciated they are because honestly I have tried other vets in the past and nowhere comes close to this one.

  • Felipe R

I surely recommend the Manly road 24hr vet hospital. My dog had an episode where she wouldn't stop vomiting, every 5 min. After trying a few different things at home, decided to call them and drove there, at 2 am. She was treated swiftly, after discussing the options with the Vet. His treatment was spotted on and she was much better just 1 hour after the injection, and fully recovered the day after. Can't recommend enough.

  • Alecia Younie

Absolutely one of the best veterinary services we have had the pleasure of using in 13yrs of living Bayside. They genuinely care about your dogs well being. We have taken many injured possums, magpies, crows & even an owl here & the receptionists, nurses & vets have been a pleasure to deal with on every occasion. Can not recommend the practice highly enough. Thank you for all your help over the years with our furbabies!

  • Gill Picker

I have been going to these vet's for almost thirty years and they have always been the very best. I would recommend them to anyone as the most caring and efficient people in SE Qld. Also, I would like to commend all the other staff, as being very special too...this includes all vet nurses and receptionists. You will not find any better and that is why I still travel to them. even though I now live 50 kms away :)

  • David Byrnes

The clinic arranged for a vet and a vetinary nurse (Hong & Georgia) to come to my home to vaccinate my cats and cut their nails. The service was important to me because I have lost my mobility to get my cats into baskets and get them to the clinic. The help I received was first class and I can’t thank them enough, it made the process so much easier for me, and my cats are properly treated. Vey grateful.

  • LMC

They are the best vets you will find in the area. I have had misdiagnoses and massive price gouging elsewhere. One large local vet mistook a genetic hip problem for a knee injury and Manly Road correctly diagnosed and helped us get on top of it. Another vet in Capalaba wanted to charge an additional $30 per dog for nail clipping compared to Manly Road. Great service, good pricing, and expert knowledge.

  • Kevin Parsonson

The staff at Manly Rd 24 hr Vet Hospital went over and beyond expecations to save our lovely Beaglier when we were facing the liklihood of his demise. We were delighted to learn that the operation he had to have was very successful and are enjoying having him home again. Dr Tamille and the other staff were very positive, caring, and determined to achieve a good outcome. Thankyou for all your efforts!

  • Abbie Thorncraft

We had to rush our little girl Poppie here last night at 8:30 after her throat collapsed suddenly and she was in distress. The staff were amazing, talked everything through and whilst we unfortunately had to put Poppie to sleep the staff allowed us to have so much time with Poppie saying goodbye to our girl. I will always be so thankful for their help last night when she needed it the most.

  • MJ

A very Big thank you to the staff at Manly Road 24hr Veterinary Clinic. They are so gifted and caring in the work they do and the compassion they show. Our small dog Bailey was recently bitten by a paralysis tick and even though we were worried sick if he would survive or not, we knew he was in the best hands possible. If ever your pet needs help 24/7 they are the place to go to.

  • Michele Brady

Had a Friday afternoon emergency and they booked me in over the phone. I did have a long wait as there were a few emergencies that came in. The staff kept me informed and were very friendly and attentive. The vet was really informative and explained in detail the issue and the home care that was required. Hopefully we have no more emergencies but I would call them first if we do.

  • Aries Fire Tiger 7

Thank you so much for all of the care, support and everything that you all do there. You treat every animal with the love and respect they deserve. And you also take perfect care of my precious boys, Mr Merlin & Mr Jedi whenever we visit and that is so very much appreciated. They are my world and you have no idea how much that means to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Zac

What an amazing place! If your animals could choose where to go it would be here. Not only are they thoughtful, kind and considerate to your pet, but they are exactly the same to your wallet. It can be such a stressful time to have a sick/injured animal. But these guys aren't only affordable and 24 hours they are absolute experts. I wouldn't trust my fur baby anywhere else!

  • Steven Levitt

Manly Road is not our regular vet, but when we have needed them in emergencies, they are always available. Every visit has been kind and considerate. We can not thank the team enough for all they have done for our dogs over the years, including sending one of our babies over the rainbow bridge very late at night after an emergency. Such a compassionate and caring team.

  • Cindy Graham

I was very happy my little dog, who frightens easily, was cared for in a compassionate manner and I was even more happy knowing the clinic staff displayed genuine understanding and compassion regarding my little dogs personality whilst in the care of the clinic for her dental treatment. The procedure results were excellent. Thank you for your care and dedication.

  • josh connell

With the recent passing of our 1 4 year old lab I can't compliment the Manly Road Staff and in particular those on duty on the 6th Feb 2020 enough. They had alot going on, but the time and respect they showed and took in providing dignity and support to my family and young children was just outstanding. Well done and Thank you. Can't rate this team highly enough.

  • Ellen B.

I am extremely grateful to Dr Pauline, that she squeezed Bella into her busy surgery day to check out her eyes and help to find out what is going on and start treatment. She was great at explaining everything and it just felt the care she has for her patients (and the pet parents).... and all of this at a very reasonable price. A big THANK YOU from Ellen & Bella

  • Katie Le Roy-Dyson

I've been going to MRVH for a while now, I recently had 2 dog emergencies in the space of a week and the treatment that my dogs and myself have received has been exceptional! I never have to worry about my babies when they are in the care of MRVH. All staff are so kind and accommodating. And the care received is second to none. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Fiona Williams

I want to say a BIG THANKS to Donna who put me on to Silvia who was fostering a beautiful little girl cat. It came about by a mix up at the clinic. We were meant to adopt a kitten from there. Donna went above and beyond to call me back and let me know about our beautiful new fur baby. Donna you are the best and you have great customer service skillsxxx

  • Wayne B

We had a horrific experience with two surgeries at another vet and rushed him to Manly Vets. Well I can't thank Dr Tamara enough for her knowledge, honesty, integrity and referral to QVS. I truly believed she probably save our little guy's life. She then followed up to see how he was despite treatment occuring at the hospital. Phenomenal care.

  • Cindy McCarrel

Thank you so much to all the staff that looked after my baby girl Jimmi after she had to have emergency surgery. You all deserve a pat on the back for the great work you do. And the caring attitude you all have. And a special thanks to Corrine for her support yesterday. We hope you all enjoy the chocolates. Thank you again. Cindy & Ang

  • Caroline De Nooyer

I recently took my Guinea Pig Jet into MRVH. She received excellent treatment From Dr Corinne who was so kind, thorough and knowledgable. She also was so gentle with a very scared piggie. Diagnosis and treatment was explained to me clearly and in detail. Jet is feeling much better. Thanks to Dr Corinne, vet nurses and reception staff.

  • Sarah Kennedy

Highly recommend them. They were so caring when it came to putting our beloved Staffy to rest. They gave us all the time we needed and made our situation as pleasant and as peaceful as we could of hoped for. Today we received a beautiful hand written card from them which shows they have the personal touch and are not just a business.

  • Marlene Potgieter

We took our Belvedere there after 8pm, he was a lot sicker than we thought. He was almost 10 so he lived a good live. Unfortunately Belvedere didn't make it but the Vet that took care of him did her utmost best. We could see it was affecting her a lot. They were very understanding and empathetic. They're our go-to vets from now on.

  • Mr T

I found the staff fantastic and they looked after our kitten with care and skill. For such a large practice that has a huge amount of patient admissions they do a very good job of managing the case load. Many don't know they have a full equine vet unit as well and have a large inflow of injured native wildlife they also care for.

  • Josh ua

After a successful emergency visit, I tried 3 times to book with my preferred vet. I recieved promises of a call back each time, yet it was I who had to chase and still never got that callback, so I went somewhere else. A simple follow up saying it wasn't possible but I could be booked with someone else would have done the trick.

  • E Yo

I’ve always had really good experiences here. I’ve put down my family dog and cat of many years, both of which were done very respectfully and kindly. Emergency treatment of my older dog has been handled very well and this vet surgery has saved her life. Definitely pay this place a visit, especially for those emergency times.

  • Taneth Cox

my cat got bitten by a tick and was in the hospital for 5 days. The staff were absolutely amazing. they called daily to give me updates on his condition and were kind, considerate and helpful when I needed to bring him back twice once he was released for further check up's. Thank you to all the staff you are amazing.

  • Carrie M

Best, most caring vet in Brisbane. Have now seen five dogs through this surgery, and have always felt confident in the care they gave both my pets and me. I’ve referred so many friends over the years, and all have had the same positive experience as me. They’re absolutely worth the trek to Manly from the inner city.

  • Michelle McLarty

Thank you so very much to all the caring staff for their empathy and compassion yesterday when I had to have my 17 year old dog, Dobie put to sleep. The outdoor area was just perfect for the procedure. We couldn't have asked for any more. The card and prints were just a beautiful token of such a sad experience.

  • Philippa Newton

All staff are absolutely wonderful and Dr Dee is an angel. After moving to the south side we didn't have a new vet and were trepidatious. This vet came recommended and I can see why. We have complete trust in these vets and the level of care and compassion for both fur-person and their humans is second to none.

  • Louise Dafter

I have the greatest respect for all of the Manly Road Veterinary Doctors, nurses and veterinary technicians . They have always given their love and care for all of my dogs that have been under their watchful eyes. I can only say thank you for looking after my last beautiful little bundle of joy. …

  • KERRY GODFREY

They were very kind and caring with my dog who sadly passed away. Their communication was amazing. Their covid rule re: not allowed inside the building when my own vet allows this with restrictions seemed a little extreme. I was also shocked at the price. Regardless, they took good care of my darling dog.

  • Peter Earl

We found a lovely white Staffie when we were walking one evening. She looked like she may have been hit by a car as she had a cut and looked grazed. We took her to the 24 hour vets in Manly. The young man in the Carpark was excellent ( he was there checking in patients). Luckily The dog was microchipped .

  • Apple Danish

These guys are absolute lifesavers. If you live nearby and need a 24/7 vet, I would highly recommend stopping by here. Quality care, lovely staff, and they are always willing to cater to reasonable requests. Thank you for providing my family with whatever help we need through good and difficult times ❤

  • Tess Horrigan

Had to take my gorgeous girl here this morning for a minor emergency and was very overwhelmed with the kindness of the team . I was so stressed as my dog is like my 3rd baby . They were very welcoming . Approachable and just all round kind . Great pricing could not fault them at all thanks heaps guys

  • Michael Jeffrey

Lovely to deal with. Wasn't a pleasant experience though as my dog cried and anxious. Didnt know she would be restrained or have a cannula put in. Only recommendation is tell the client how it will work prior. Lovely people and they care.. Go there but ask questions if you not experienced it before .

  • Christian Parbst

We sadly had to put down our much loved family dog Ollie. I can't speak highly enough of the professionalism and loving empathy that Dr Bree showed in helping us with this difficult task. She even took the time to sit and listen to our silly stories as we reminisced about Ollie's life. 10/10

  • SUSAN christensen

The staff at this veterinary are all so professional, respectful and kind. Brought my dog for her final goodbyes and despite no notice from me they were so accomodating and their genuine care helped me immensely. If I get another dog I would go nowhere else for care but manly road xxxx

  • Ann Brown

Thi morning I had to put to sleep my beautiful loyal loving friend who was almost 18 . He was half Pomeranian/Jack Russell. It was a very relaxing experience. So I want to thank the staff and the vet for being so caring and thoughtful. You made it a lot easier on the both of us. RIP CK

  • Caroline Murphy

Manly Road Vets took amazing care of our cat who was in a really bad way. They kept us informed throughout the whole process and gave us estimates before carrying out any work. Our cat made a full recovery with their care and attention. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

  • Steve Patten

Was a sad day but these guys are amazing in what they do helped us out and our dog to be as comfortable as possible within seconds of being there. The staff were amazing if i could give a 10 i would thanks alot guys. Even on a Sunday night above and beyond. …

A week ago we had to say goodbye to our beloved staffie. We were looked after so well, not just now, but also over the years. Thank you for the best vets, care, nurses, support and love you gave to us, and continue to give to all pet owners. Thank you again, Lisa.

  • Mellisa Beaton

Lovely staff. Price for one night was high and it is expected like all vets. but the deposit was too high for us to have our dog hospitalized. Can gladly say 'turbo' did pull through and recovered well with some extra love and close monitoring at home.

  • Steve Thomson

These guys are fantastic. Brothers dog from NSW went walkies one night and was picked up and taken to the vet. Brother was distraught but one quick phone call from the team at the vets and owner and dog reunited. Can't praise the service highly enough

  • Craig Mather

I took an injured/sick rainbow lorikeet in to these guys at 6pm on Christmas Eve and they were very quick to help me and another couple out with a dog that they had found. I've taken quite a few lost and injured animals in too. Will continue to do so.

  • K S

Thank-you for the care of our darling girl, Vyzby - who passed away on 23/07/23 in your hospital. We do really appreciate the kindness of everyone involved. We feel deeply for the work you do and how brave you have to be every single day. Thank-you.

  • gillianne nichole

Fantastic emergency Vet . This place was wonderful in handling a chocolate eating emergency for a friends dog and provided fast and through treatment . I take my dog here and they are very loving and genuinely care about his overall health .

  • Lisa Leslie

Very caring and compassionate professionals. Our 15 yr old dog required euthanasia yesterday. All involved were fantastic and treated us with care and compassion. Very reasonably priced and took care of her afterwards also. Sincerest thanks.

  • Marc Busoli

Always very thorough with our little pooch who has had some issues in the past. The after hours availability of vets is just great. Have used this service a couple of times. They are always friendly and seem to really enjoy most of the work.

  • Leona Gahan

I can expression my appreciation for the staff enough! Phoned the after hours service to ask advice for a very sick cat after I discovered the horrible effect on my cat of my last obviously inadequate flea treatment. I suspected my baby had

Great friendly and professional service. After hours were very good at relieving our stress levels after our dog was bitten by a tick. Came back next morning for a check up. Dog was fine. Big relief! Great service and not too expensive.

The Vets here are quality service. You can tell they really love the animals and do their best to take care of them. One of my dogs has had an operation here and the staff made sure she was comfortable and that the process was smooth.
