Margaret Pace was the founder and President of the Miami Garden Club. She was also the chairman of Royal State Park which later became part of Everglades National Park. As a former Vice President of the Miami Woman's Club, she fought development of the adjoining green space which then became the 8 acre park. Margaret Pace Park was created in the late 1960's and named in her honor. In 2003 the park received a 4 million dollar makeover. Margaret Pace Park is located at the south end of Edgewater. On the east side of the park is Biscayne Bay and on the west side is towering condos. Park amenities include basketball and tennis court, shaded playground, outdoor exercise equipment, sand volleyball court, paved walkway, public art, paddleboard and kayak rentals, and a dog park. Pay parking by app is available on the street. On August 10, 2023 the city of Miami unveiled their master plan to renovate Margaret Pace Park. To combat the heat misting areas, splash pads and tree coverage are planned for the park. Other components of the plan include improvements to the shoreline, an upgraded playground, additional beach volleyball courts, a two story community center, pickleball court, and a sandy area for recreational activities. Construction is projected to proceed over three phases beginning next year. You can see the plan on line and there is one hanging on the playground fence. The view of the bay is gorgeous and the mosaic throne chairs are a unique discovery. Each twenty-foot high, two-ton throne visually conveys the stories of the three largest ethnic communities of elders who had settled in Miami. The paved walkway is perfect for exercising and walking your dog. It is truly amazing that this green spaced was able to be preserved from development. Just look around at the buildings dwarfing the park and you can see how ripe this spot was for development. Margaret Pace did the Miami community such a great service by saving this recreational space and it is about to get even better.
Margaret Pace Park (a/k/a the "dog park"), which is walking distance from a number of local hotels, is a great place for a family outing or picnic with friends. There are tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, and an ample field where on any given day you might find a touch football game, organized cross-fit lessons or dogs and their owners performing amazing frisbee feats. Their is an enclosed area for you to bring your dog so he/she can meet friends or make new ones. There are a few benches on the north end and seating areas along the east side of the park where you can capture amazing views of Biscayne Bay. You can also go jet-skiing (if you own one) in the Bay or rent a paddle boat if you want to brave the sometimes rough tide of the Bay. Overall a terrific location for anyone and everyone to enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of Miami's busy business world.
Playground
There is a small playground area for young children and toddlers to enjoy family fun. It could definitely afford some improvement and an equipment upgrade.
Restrooms
On-site public restrooms. They could be better maintained.
Dog-friendliness
There is an enclosed area for dogs to play in.
Picnic area
2 picnic areas and 3 barbeque pits.
Follow me on if @BeeFocused305 Margaret Pace Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors in the heart of Brickell. The park has a variety of amenities, including a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a dog park. There are also plenty of open spaces for picnicking or just taking a walk. The park is located on Biscayne Bay, so you can enjoy stunning views of the city and the water. Margaret Pace Park is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Miami and enjoy a little peace and quiet. Here are some of the pros and cons of Margaret Pace Park: **Pros:** * Beautiful views of Biscayne Bay * Variety of amenities, including a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a dog park * Plenty of open spaces for picnicking or just taking a walk * Conveniently located in the heart of Brickell **Cons:** * Can be crowded, especially on weekends * No shade trees * No food or drink vendors Overall, Margaret Pace Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors in the heart of Brickell. If you're looking for a quiet place to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Miami, this is the place for you.
Margaret Pace Park is one of the most visited parks in Dade County. The reason is noticeable the moment you step in. As you step in you will hear the woodpeckers and different birds and if you're lucky enough you might see the many Amazon Parrots flying throughout the park. A nice breeze will welcome in as you then admire the beautiful Miami Bay surrounding the park. Margaret Pace Park has two beautiful Sand Volleyball Courts and if you wish to be part of the team playing there almost every day you just have to sign in and they will welcome you. As you walk through the park you will notice an outdoor gym, kids playground, dog park, basketball court, water fountains restroom and BBQs throughout the park. The park uses solar power which is amazing and also they have here and there clean up events. If you're planning on coming to spend the day, enjoy a bbq, celebrate a bday etc Please show respect for the park and just be mindful and don't leave your trash behind as there are many kids and dogs around the park. Let's be a better human and citizen. Have fun
Updated: How Are The Lights On The Tennis Court? The lights are just okay. The court located next to the Bay has the better lights. The City needs to give this park some more attention since the city is growing in population and these tennis courts get a lot of usage. Courts need to be resurfaced as well as new windscreens. Most downtown or water front tennis facilities are too windy. Especially, rooftop tennis courts. But this location is an exception. It's a beautiful setting for playing tennis in downtown Miami. The courts have a nice layout with plenty of space between both tennis courts and a coverage area to take a break in the shade. The courts are well protected from the wind sitting next to Biscayne Bay. There is a water fountain just outside the courts and muni-meter street parking. The courts need some love and could use resurfacing. They are free on a first come first serve basis for downtown residents. It is a busy park especially in the early morning hours and after work on week nights. Photo: Tennis Twins of Miami. Photo credit: Backhand City
What a lovely park! On an ordinary weekend the park is filled with parents strolling with their children, friends barbecuing, kites flying, dogs playing, people working out, and wild life galore!! So many ducks (please do not touch), wild iguanas, fish, manatees, pelicans, and other lovely birds. This is a no swimming beach in order to protect the wildlife. The shore is lined with rocks, and sadly littered with trash from the hurricanes. There is an outdoor gym for the fitness lovers. There is a dog park that caters to both small and large breeds. There is a shaded play area for children. There are two beach volleyball courts, and also two tennis courts. Unfortunately there are quite a number of homeless people at this park. Some just sleep there, but others can be more aggressive.
Love this park! Great outdoor establishment with a beautiful view of the bay. They have a boardwalk where people can skate, bike, walk, jog etc. They have volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, bathrooms, and even a mini dog park. (Dogs are allowed on all premises, too) They have several stations with bbqs and tables spread out around the park that overlook the water. They also have huge grass fields for multipurpose use. This park is great to spend a nice afternoon with family or friends to have a picnic, hang out, play sports and disconnect from daily busy lives!
My favorite park in Miami. This beautiful family park is on the water. There is a big, shaded children's playground. A public bathroom in front of the playground. An aesthetics and work out adult playground. You will find a fenced dog park and alot of open grass too. A few Tennis courts at the end and picnic tables all along the Bay grace the park. There are also grills to cook. Wild iguanas run free and big! There is always so much life happening here but it's also peaceful and private. This park is one of the best places in miami to spend your time.
From 2015-2017, it was not that clean and the the sea sorrounding this park had unpleasant smell because it was not being cleaned as people were dumping their trash. When I returned in 2019, the city of Miami had decided to do something about that smell. I was really surprised how clean it appeared. The sea breeze is now refreshing and the view is unmatched. It is a very big park and the location is perfect. You can easily walk to downtown Miami, or simply take Omini Train should you chose to do so.
I love this park! Nice place to walk, take your dog, work out on body weight machines, play volleyball, basketball, and on Sundays touch football! The view is spectacular, with beautiful trees and the bay. So serene! I love it! (Twice? Yeah, it's like that)
Dog-friendliness
Nice fenced area for dogs as well as a large field! Always dogs here in some capacity, small and large.
Picnic area
Sheltered area in facing the bay with a grill and several stone tables.
The best dog park in Miami! Beautiful location, you can feel the breeze from the bay. People working out, having BBQ and picnics. Children and adults playing and frolicking in the grass. Dogs playing in their designated area, all in all wonderful! Fun for everyone! Highly recommended for a nice day outside and nobody has to be left behind because there is something for everybody! Plenty of public parking spaces and a small bistro across the street for your convenience
Excellent park. Lots of space all around. Plenty of grills to have family cookouts. Last time I was there, I made a paella for my father on his birthday next to the tables where we were all comfortable. The day was gorgeous right by the water, lots of open field for games and playing catch, and it was very well kept. Only thing is that parking can be difficult. You might have to take a few laps, or walk a bit, but otherwise, one of my favorite parks
I come to this place often and love energy in this area. Everyone is out there living their best life. It makes you want to do the same. They have a nice dog park where I take my Jack Russell all the time. I can join the yogis they always seem welcoming. I can kick butt at the volleyball court or bball court. The calisthenics area is like a gymnasium. Endless possibilities here. Time to soak up that sun and go hit some dips
Lovely bayside park! I went here when visiting Miami for an evening stroll and it was perfect. It has sidewalks along the perimeter of the park that are perfect for walks. There is wonderful bay frontage that makes for a great view with a nice breeze. There is a large lawn, a dog park, and volleyball courts. They even have some art to see! Many people had there dogs there outside of the dog area, and they all seemed very well behaved.
I love the park. It’s always busy but not too busy. It has a basketball court , volleyball courts , tennis and an outdoor gym (small though). There are two popular dog parks. One for small and one for larger breads. There is a mobile paddle board rental station which is neat and there are lots of bbq stations around to use. What I dislike is that there are still at night many homeless people sleeping in and around the park.
We love this park. Lots of little cozy laces to hang out, grill, play sports, and walk the dogs. The dog park is nice too. Although I wish more people followed the rules and picked up after their dogs. The only real complaint I have about the park is the homeless people that hang out there sometimes. I feel bad for them and know they don't have any where else to go, but some of them can be a safety issue.
Margaret Pace Park offers iconic views of Biscayne Bay and Midtown's skyline of Miami. You have a lot here with plenty of room for dogs to run and walk and children to run around. You don't have just a play ground but you also have an outdoor fit ground work out park area where you can do exercises in the park if you feel like you want to build muscles. If you want to just walk, you can do the pathways.
Dog park with clean artificial turf. Lots of dogs use this so if your dog is social it's a top 10 park. Not a large park but separate large and small dog area. Been there many times and no aggressive dogs. Mostly locals and some coffee and juice joints nearby. It's on the bay so you can walk the pooch there afterwards. Careful of early Covid closing time and difficult to find street parking.
Great park! All the things I could ask for in a park, but sadly lots of dog poop smell. People should be more responsible. Park includes basketball court, tennis courts (brand new!) Kids park, volleyball sand courts, open space, dog park, and right next to the bay. Beautiful view! Amazing location! I would recommend it 100% Love this park, but have high expectations for where I live.
This is a decent park right on the water with really nice view. Have played a lot of volleyball there and the courts have gotten better over time. The dog park is not our favorite but we go because it's convenient. The astroturf doesn't do well with my dogs paws. Also, people think that there must be people there to clean up after their dog because there's poop everywhere.
Park has bay view, it has a variety of things like basketball, tennis court etc you're allowed to bring your dog. The park is very clean ...very nice public restroom.. People at park are super friendly. Good for all ages including kids..there's also a fun playground for them. Nice trail...exercise area with machines. I absolutely LOVE this park. And highly recommend it!
I love this park! I come here several times a week to work out. There’s plenty of places to sit, a beach volleyball area, tennis courts, children’s playground and workout area. I personally bring my yoga mat and relax on the grass. The view is what keeps me coming back it’s very relaxing here. There are also some restaurants around where you can grab food afterwards.
Nice park for those with dogs. While most pick up after their dogs, there were still random piles left in the grass (especially along the road so watch your step). We sat on three different benches and the smell drove us away. We finally ended up on a bench upwind of the park (on the water) where it was tolerable. Not being a dog person, I'll not be returning.
I lived in this are a few years ago. It has definitely improved and developed a lot. You can find amazing food spots as well as dog areas, kids areas, fitness areas… YOU NAME IT! Very friendly park overall. My only complaint is that it kinda feels crowded now and people are trashing the park… such a shame. Overall still one of my favorite areas in Miami.
Another gem of Miami! My band played this venue just a week ago for the winter holidays. First live gig since Covid hit in March and what a gorgeous park - right on the bay. You can picnic here, play some basketball, walk or jog along the water, and even bring your pooch to the doggie park. This one is totally family friendly and a real beauty!
We are very lucky to live right across this beautiful park. It is in front of the bay, we bring our inflatable kayak and paddle board to go to picnic island just 15 mins away, there is places to picnic, there is basketball, tennis, beach volleyball! Just my fav park ever! Oh did I say it has bbq grills? Closed at the moment due to Covid :(
Good views and lots of grass. Barbeque friendly, family friendly, pet friendly. It has tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, children's playground, lot's of space for dogs in the dog park, public restrooms available. If you own a hummock bring it out with you. They spray for mosquitoes often and is safe for evening escapades.
Went for the new art installation between the dog park and the basketball courts. A big hoop tree by the artist CJ Hendry. The location is great. It seems wonderful for local residents. There were a lot of dogs. The fenced dog areas are very nice and looked clean.
Dog-friendliness
There are fences areas to let your dog off leash.
I enjoyed this park. Plenty of seating options to look out at the water. I saw families, people walking their dogs, and cute dogs playing with each other. It seemed like if you were into fitness it was a good park as well because there is exercise equipment, and basketball and tennis courts. I also saw a fenced in playground for kids.
It's a great park to go for a run or walk your dog. There are several organized activities, like fitness classes, soccer, ultimate frisbee, basketball, beach volleyball and perhaps a few more. The kids playground needs improvement. Also most of the time you'll find people doing drugs and that isn't so nice. Other than that is good.
Lively park, right on the water. Basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball nets, walking path, dog park, big open green space, picnic tables with grills. This is the place to go to socialize your pup if you're in the area. In the evenings there has been a little hot dog stand thats pops up on the south west corner of the park.
Nice little park, nothing much to it sadly. Cool ocean view, it has a basketball court, and even 2 volleyball nets for your convenience. Basic fitness benches / workout poles for all to use. I docked one star because sometimes the homeless try to beg, (nothing wrong with that) but when they get aggressive that's a different story
This is a really nice place for the entire family. They have tennis and basketball court, dog park, bicycle/skate trail, benches in front of the water, restrooms, water fountains, kiddy playground and more. Great for training, walk your dog, take the kids out for play or a romantic walk. This is my fav for my entire family!
This park has it all! 2 dog parks (small dogs and large dogs), volleyball, kids playground, open field, make-shift launch ramp for paddle boarding, and easy access to Pura Vida. The park was named after Dr. Elizabeth Margaret Pace who was a Scottish doctor, suffragist and advocate for women's health and women's rights.
This park never disappoints. The views of Biscayne Bay along with the people you meet here is awesome. People watching and dog watching is spectacular along with the iguanas that have grown in abundance. Many people are here enjoying the park, exercising, playing with kids, walking their dog, or just out for a stroll.
This is an amazing area for walks, a romantic stroll or walking your pet. The ocean is a gorgeous view which you can actually touch. There's a sectioned out dog park for small and large dogs, which is extremely clean. The entire park is clean. It's a great place to relax or workout alone, with friends or family.
Great place to enjoy a day with friends, your kids or your pets.
Playground
Shaded and 360 views for parents. Without hammocks.
Dog-friendliness
Two size areas with enough room to hangout with them and others.
Picnic area
Close to the water line plenty of room for big families.
Magnificent park very beautiful the best place in Miami I love this place very much and I wish to visit the place where the city of saliva and the stadium and the beauty of the beautiful beauty of the sunset at a very beautiful and wished all to visit the place and evaluate 5 stars worth it
I love this park! Plenty of people and their dogs. There is a small dog park in the park. Trails and a small waterfront area where you can walk on the rocks and it's very picturesque! Sometimes you'll see homeless people sleeping on the benches which sucks but it's an overall safe park!
My boy's (Chihuahua and Shitzu Yorky) LOVED IT! Surprisingly enough it's a very clean and friendly dog park. The only gripe that I have is that I didn't notice any water fountains for the dog's which sucks lol so you do have to carry water with you. Outside of that, it's a great park.
Charming green space to chill out or stretch your legs. Not many places to go and stay for free. Dog friendly. Workout area (be mindful of the scorching hot equipment), shaded children's play area. Can smell a little from the vegetation on the waters edge. Didn't see a parking lot.
One thing I love about US is their XXL parks which are beautifully designed by keeping in mind the needs of everyone. The whole circumference is a little short of 1k & I had one of the most amazing 5k runs early month. The sunrise was splendid. Totally worth it. God bless America!
This is an awesome little park. You can relax, do some exercises, have a picnic and watch the sunset. We normally go there to skate and have fun with friends. Very closed to the city, so if you are visiting Miami and need a little break from the building this is a hidden gem!
Excellent place to go and enjoy : alone, couples, family, friends. There’s kids area, dogs areas, picnic and bbq areas, reading books spots, there’s a beautiful running or walking runway with bay and city view. You can find restaurants, coffee shops and gym Around the park.
Social dog park for canine Miami residents. Fenced dog park has one section for small dogs + one for 25lb+ dogs. Lots of off leash dogs outside the fenced area, all are well behaved! We walk from Brickell to play with dog friends and take the metromover back for free
I Love the place, 3 stars is Cos the Homeless situation. there are too many laying around, need them to relocate them And dog owners have the pets without leash even there is a gated place for dogs. If I was a Park ranger I'll do a lot of money with Fines/tickets
We had lived @ 1800 Club over 10 years, best neighborhood in town, best park as well.
Playground
Dog park is at least 2 times bigger than kids play ground, we have 2 dogs and animal lovers as whole family however kids deserve more room to play! Period!
Came for a doggy date @ the dog park and I really like the vibes I get from the park in general. People playing football, people constantly coming through the dog park and even an officer and his horse! And you get a nice breeze from the ocean nearby!
The Margaret Pace Park in Midtown Miami is pretty awesome. Despite the fact that I am not working out here, I see a lot of people do. Dog walkers are here as well. I came here for a picnics. Frill places are all around. Nice spots. Recommend!
One of my favorite Parks in miami. It is located over the bay and do offer some great activities around such a basketball court, tennis courts, playground for kids, dog park. It is also a great area for work out or running as well for picnic.
Amazingly beautiful Miami scenery. Lots of incredible views all around, same with all sorts of picturesqueness in people; but, definitely, the doggies playing and running on the green are the ultimate vibe booster and highlight of the place.
So Beautiful! I saw a manatee! The water is so warm and pretty! Amazing view I love it omg!!! So many people walking their happy adorable puppers too! The dogs just seem to be so relaxed and happy! it's just so cute and heart warming! <333
Absolutely beautiful and large waterfront park. It has volleyball courts with sand, a playground for children, seats for picnics, fenced in areas for dogs separated by large and small, basketball courts, pretty much everything! Love it.
I love this park! It's perfect for families and dogs. The beautiful scenery on the water is an added plus to the relaxing surroundings.
Dog-friendliness
Very dog friendly with a fenced in area for the dogs to roam without a leash
Very relaxing. Restroom right next to park and area where you are able to BBQ, walk your dogs and play volleyball. Only complaint is the playground equipment is very limited. Very very small play gym for as many kids that come here.
I love the view as I go for my daily run. The people are very chill and the tennis court is pretty good. I went here with a friend and the have trees with space to set up a hammock. Love it and I'm there at least 4 times per week.
I just love Miami so much and places like this reassure that idea. Nice little park to walk through all kinds of activities for free to do. Definitely a nice place to walk around and jump in an activities if you would like
Always filled with interesting characters for a morning or evening walk. Great for dogs (fenced dog park and lots of areas for dogs to run in an open field). Tennis courts, long boards for rent, and beautiful water views.
Fantastic park. Always a lot of people. great energy. Great views of the bay. I personally use the body-weight free gym they have there. It's a very high-quality body-weight free gym. I love that the city put this here!
Fabulous Park! Some dog owners seem not to understand that big dogs need to be observed at all times when off leash but other than that it is a great park to spend time. There are also little restaurants around.
Great dog park with two areas for big and small dogs, but many people don't clean up after their dogs. When the park is busy there are tons of dogs playing and mostly well behaved. Just clean up your dogs poop.
Great park. There are constantly people just hanging out, sitting in the grass, having picnics. A ton of fun and great views of the city. A lot of dog owners visit as well. The park is super clean, though!!
Pros:Great place to walk with your partner, your dog, yourself or maybe play basket, tennis, volley. I recommend this place. Cons:if the day is too hot you would smell poop like it was almost in your nose.
The Prymus Angels Cheerleaders and I did the 2021 International Coastal Clean-up Community Service Event at Margaret Pace Park! The staff was amazing. The event was well organized and ran quite smoothly!
A great, clean park to just walk, relax by the water, a doggie park, basketball court & open field. I enjoy the area a lot and spend some of my lunches just strolling and taking in the surroundings.
Great park to walk, chill or play. Find fresh coconuts, see iguanas. Nice playground. Work out stations. Picnic tables. Only downside is locals do leave a lot of dog poop without picking it up....
Beautiful park! I would recommend for a relaxing, wholesome morning. There were kayaks/paddle boards to rent, many different sports going on, a huge dog park, exercise areas, and more!
Great park for all, it has (sand) volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, work out machines, playground for kids and a doggie park for small and big dogs. Love this park!
Looked nice, but can't really say because after 20 minutes circling looking for parking wound up leaving. So probably only good for people who can walk there or are very lucky.
Paddle boarding from this park was a charm. I highly recommend. Note: you don't have to bring your own paddle board as they have automated rentals at the location!
Convenient park to walk to from Hilton, DoubleTree, Marriott hotels. A lot of people walking small dogs, working out, walking, sitting or playing ball sports.
I only have Come to this area of the city once before, this time I stop in to check out the park, it's very nice, the view of the inland Bay is wonderful ❗
Beautiful park along Biscayne Bay with plenty to do. Eat, play and shop all in one place.. Oh yeah don't forget to checkout the New Years fireworks
This is a beautiful park.It has an outdoor gym and a kids playground. We love to walk here as it is safe at any time of the day and late at night.
The park is a four, but the new high-end residents in the neighborhood are trying to remove it, so it gets a five-star rating to keep it there.
Versatile park with great views . Basketball court, dog park, calisthenics area, volleyball nets, tennis courts, etc. This park has it all.
This is a great spot to walk along the Bay. The dog park is here. There's a cute cafe across the street. Nice urban artwork installations.
A good albeit small park to walk at a leisurely pace, jog, play tennis, play beach volleyball, or simply sit down and contemplate the bay.
Nice atmosphere the people are nice and Lively the dog park is excellent for having a stroller with your animal and I like it very Breezy
I love this park! Love coming here for walks with my pups and just hanging out. Beautiful bay views and a lot of dogs to play with.
Beautiful park, normally great for kids, however after the hurricane it's been taking a while to get the kids Playground back 100%
Beautiful place as it has a dog park..kids park...beach volleyball..tennis ...basketbal and all with lights. A walking area too .
Volleyfest was amazing! We really need a third court there! There are 2 nice beach volleyball courts there and friendly players!
This park is a gem. I took a stretch class there on Friday at 4:30pm and really loved it! Great workout with a beautiful view!
Really nice park near the water with basketball courts, huge dog park, art, and large grassy areas. Street parking nearby!
I love this park. It’s super clean, there’s a big dog park and it has lots of workout groups. It’s a fun place to hang out
Great scenery. Very relaxing. Entertaining street views as well if you enjoy people watching. Only a mile from Wynwood.
Park is clean, has dog park, playground, and open field. Bike and scooter rentals available along with ample parking.
I feel good about paying my Taxes because of this park, well done maintaining and up-keeping this park city of Miami
Ideal community park for a brief walk by the water a quick workout, or to take the dogs to the dog park area.
Great place to go with your Dogs. Outdoor exercises! To enjoy sunrise and sunset in front bay! @jannycolra
Nice place that can be used for sports, walking or relaxation. It offers beautiful views of Biscayne Bay.
Soooo peaceful...and the dog park?? Omg the dogs are so cute and ready for their owner to throw the ball
Beautiful park right on Biscayne Bay. Fun to watch the hub of activities on the water and in the park!
Small nice park near downtown Miami with great views of the bay. Parking is a bit challenging though.
I love this park. Is my home to my first triathlon and to many others completed for the past 5 years.
Amazing water views right in the center of the city, with a nice dog park, and great walking trail.
Love this park, this is my sanctuary at times, the scene, Sun/Moon is beautiful and peaceful.
Great park. Dog park here. Beautiful view! Had Escape to Miami triathlon here. Great venue!
I love just a few blocks from this Park,Love this Neighborhood,Mi Vida …
