"This park is now my new favorite park in downtown Miami"
Maurice A. Ferré Park is a 30 acre park in downtown Miami, Florida. The park is bordered on the south by the FEC Slip and American Airlines Arena, on the west by Biscayne Boulevard, and on the north by the Pérez Art Museum Miami and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. From 1900 until the 1960's the land the park sits on was the Port of Miami until it was moved to Dodge Island. Created from the dock slips of the old Seaboard Air Line Railroad, the land was cleaned up and turned into a park. When the park opened in 1976 it was originally named Bicentennial Park in honor of America's bicentennial. From 1986 until 1993 the park was the site of the Grand Prix of Miami. When construction began on the Perez Art Museum and Frost Museum of Science, ten million dollars was given to the park to update it. The park reopened on June 14, 2014 as Museum Park. In 2019 the Miami City Commission voted to rename the park in honor of long time mayor and community activist Maurice A. Ferré. Mr. Ferré was the city's first Hispanic mayor and he served from 1973 to 1985. He also served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1967 to 1968 and later as vice chairman of the Dade County Board of Commissioners. The park does not have free parking. The lot is metered and costs $5 an hour. Park amenities include a dog park, paved exercise path, benches, restroom, public art, and some of the best views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline from downtown. I did a run around the park during a recent visit to the Frost Museum. While I found the views of Miami from the park stunning, it was filled with homeless people which if you know Miami is not surprising but they kept to themselves and weren't harassing anyone. It is very easy to visit the park, especially if you are already at the Perez or Frost which both open onto the park. If you are in the area it is definitely worth a walk on the historic old Port of Miami.
Very nice park. It has lots of space with lots of grass and places to enjoy the outdoors. It is packed full of sculptures from various artists along paths sprinkled throughout the park. There are spaces to enjoy outdoor events, to take a stroll along the wall of the bay watching ships arrive and depart the port of Miami. You can enjoy many beautiful flowers and plants all along the paths. There is a large parking area and several bus stops along the exterior edges making it very easy to access. There are wide paved walkways with lots of room for strollers bikes, walkers, joggers, pets, and children to all share without crowding. Spaces with lots of sunshine and plenty of shady areas to enjoy as well. There are museums, dining, and plenty of interesting sites to visit all nestled together where the heart of downtown and its amazing architecture meets the bustle of activity in the bay.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of grass enjoy an enclosed dog park for fur babies to run and play. There are doggie water fountains and bag stations to clean up after.
Picnic area
Lots of benches and soft grass to spread out a blanket and enjoy a picnic.
This is a very safe, well kept, clean, and beautiful park. It also provides Uber electronic scooters you can rent. You can stroll along enjoying the impeccable green grass, sky high palm trees along side the Miami River. The views of the high rise buildings are phenomenal to look at. You can admire the visual skyline of Miami up close and personal. The architecture and lit up buildings definitely catch your eye as you stroll along the park. This park is dog friendly and you tend to see the local dog owners walking through it at all times of the day or night. I truly felt safe walking through the park even at peak hours of the night. Stop and sit under a palm tree and enjoy the Miami warm weather. Get some vitamin D under the sunny sky, sit under the shade or enjoy the stars at night. Definitely, a peaceful experience at any time. A must do if your in the area.
Great place for adult and kids, Military get in for free, there are different sections with amazing and interesting stuff, people can definitely interact the entire time, beautiful aquarium and lots of fish tanks, jelly fish tanks as well. Amazing view of the buildings, plenty if parking, well located, clean and modern, souvenir shop, cafeteria. Definitely paradise for people that love to educate, interact and also nature. Couldn’t make it to the planetarium as I got there a little late. Def get there early to be able to enjoy it all
This park is now my new favorite park in downtown Miami. I like to go on less busy days like a Monday afternoon walks with my baby. So nice, quiet, and clean! The garden area is very pretty. There is so much open space to enjoy without having to deal with too many people nearby. The new statues are pretty cool too! Too bad there are no beagles! Why?! How do I get a Beagle statue added? Not enough hounds… and way too many cats! No offense to cat people, but most of them look the same.
Went with my grandbaby to see the dog and cat sculptures. The park was relatively empty, plenty of parking, clean, beautiful, landscaped so nicely, and the art pieces were wonderful. I love that it's a safe area for kids to walk, pups too. Then at the end, you have beautiful water views with another art installation along the sea wall. What more can you ask for on a Friday morning?
Dog-friendliness
So many people walking with their dogs, all so well behaved.
This is a nice waterfront park in the heart of the city next to American Airlines Arena. There is a nice walkway along the water and plenty of seating in the shade. It is just off the busy Bayshore Drive and worth a stop to enjoy some peace if it is en route or you are in the area. If you left your purse on the bench with a cell phone in it, I found it and feel free to reach out.
Absolutely beautiful area in downtown Miami! Very accessible by the metro! first time I've been down there and first time taking the metro. Everything was very nice. Went to the Frost museum which was fabulous! The view of the park from the top of the museum was breathtaking. You can see all the cruise ships in the port. Wonderful place to visit if you're in the Biscayne area.
I was impressed by view in Maurice A. Ferré Park formerly known as Museum Park before. It's a public, urban park in downtown Miami. As I know from my research, the park opened in 1976 as Bicentennial Park on the site of several slips served by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. Every year this small park visiting around 45000 people. Nice reactiational place.
Originally We went to Perez museum, people online saying that it is worth to visit. But nah- we worked out in 20min, and start wondering park which museum was in, since we pay $30 for parking we did not want to waste for nothing. But hey we had more fun working around and taking pictures with animal statues. My family had great time!
This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful parks in Miami. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature by the water. The park is well-maintained and has plenty of trees and green spaces and a new dog park area. I highly recommend Maurice A. Ferre park for anyone looking for a relaxing place to spend some time in Downtown Miami
Maurice A. Ferre Park is a great park. We love it even more because it got huge fenced dog parks for small and large dogs with shaded areas. We brought our dog today and he had a lot of fun running around and playing with other dogs. I recommend bringing a water bowl and water since the park itself doesn't provide water for dogs.
This was a beautiful park. We enjoyed the cruise ships taking off and the beautiful scenery. The sculptures were very colorful and full of life. Each sculpture told a different story. The grounds were pristine. The flowers were blooming and the weather was warm. The bathrooms were clean. There is a dog park there as well.
This park is amazing! Very clean and well maintained. From the boardwalk you can see the big cruise ships or the amazing boats that are passing by. or you can just sit on the bench and then watch the playful dogs. The art museum it's right there and it's always a good choice to visit it. love going there at any time.
Great place for kids and adults, so many things to do and one day was not enough for sure. My 5 y.o. daughter enjoyed going through the stations and earning stamps, I enjoyed scenic views of our galaxy and, of course, the aquarium! The exhibition about human bodies was also an awesome experience for us both …
Great spot to walk and enjoy being in Miami downtown next to pretty much everything . It also has an awesome dog park separated for big dog and little ones. Currently they are working on a gym at the park also to train if you want to.
Dog-friendliness
2 dog parks for big dogs and also small ones
Beautiful views of shipping channels, vast expanse of greenspace and old trees. Walking path. Mooring for sailing vessels. Dog friendly. Even swimming access. Beside the Perez Art Museum and The Frost museum. Close to Bayside and the Arena. Parking available. Lovely way to spend the afternoon.
I remember when this park was called Bicentennial park. It is so beautiful now and I love the fact that you can bring your doggies to the dog park. I went to the science museum and planetarium, it is very nice, a place where you can take all your family. Very educational and beautiful!!
Beautiful park, with a gorgeous view, I loved it here. Fresh air. Nice and taken care of, it has some beautiful palms and an amazing water view. I liked it a lot. Great skyline. It's a nice place to see if you're in Miami. There are interesting museums and fun things to do. I like this place.
The 1st time here, I pulled into the parking lot to look up some information on the internet and send emails. Then now being here a 2nd time, to send a few text messages and I really was going to walk around the park. Luckily it started to rain so I couldn’t go walk around and #stepindogshit
Amazing Art exhibition, I strongly recommend it for the whole family. It's kid friendly and even suitable for a date night. Just so sad to see some parents are not respectful of the park policies and allow the kids to climb on the sculptures, spite the police effort to protect it.
Great place for outdoors recreation! Being your bikes, strollers and sport shoes! You can forget you are in a big city for a moment. Is a place to feel the fresh breeze and enjoy the nature. We love to bring our family here, there is parking and also is pet friendly.
I LOVE this park. It's so beautiful right in the middle of downtown. You get ocean views and city view in the tranquil green lawns. Literally so peaceful you can lose track of time. Added bonus there are city bikes and scooters around that you can ride in the park.
2022 November 4.5* A beautifully designed palm tree lined park along side the bay lit with lighting. Nice walkable trails, right beside the Frost Science Museum. Here, you can find gecko's crawling around. At time of writing, opened during 7AM-10PM. Nice to visit.
I didn't know the park had a name number one. I saw the dog walk from the museum balcony and I love dogs so I went down to see them... The dogs are very well done and some of the colorings on them are so funny. I have a Poodle a Schnauzer Bichon mix
Frost Science Museum. A new fantastic experience for kids and adults. A beautifull, modern and diverse museum. Specially the aquarium with its spectacular circular glass view. Don't miss to visit when you stay in Miami. Highly recomendable!!!
Sadly, most of the art throughout the park was not in place. The park, itself, was beautiful. The views toward the water was phenomenal. The park was clean. We went to the science museum which is more of an aquarium. It was very interesting.
Our next family adventure take us to Maurice A. Ferrer Park located in the heart of downtown Miami, walking around to spend the day we visited this place. With incredible views of downtown Miami and others over the bay, you can see
One of my top favorite parks now in Miami. Large lush greenery park with ocean front view. Word of advice: Just be aware of your surroundings. Parking lot has a strong police presence over 10 police cars when I parked. …
We spent a nice afternoon there, it was a nice park to walk around. The art museum is there so you have the chance to see great pieces of art. It was not crowded at all, and not very touristy so it made for a nice evening.
Clean, relatively large park right by the water! Great for people watching and taking a stroll. Beautiful on a sunny day like we had. Took the Baywalk Path from here down to the big yacht, this was a good place to start.
I always find a little spot I didn't see before. There's an art and science museum, quaint paths to walk, the bay to take in the sea water, sculptures & nature to take in. They also have various events, and yoga outside.
Truly this spot is cool and intriguing. I appreciate coming here. I will return in the future. It was a decent spot to bring kids. I would carry my more youthful sibling with me sometime later. Cherished this park.
Visited this past saturday for the first time, it was fun for the family, 3-4 hours is enough; planetarium a must if you want to feel it was worth the price. It was about $130 for a family of 4 plus parking.
Large areas of green with sidewalks throughout. Nice views of downtown, the FTX Arena, the museums, and the bay. There is a dog park, restroom facilities, water, and benches to sit down throughout.
Honestly this place is pretty cool and interesting. I enjoy coming here. I will come back again. It was a nice place to bring kids. I would definitely bring my younger brother with me next time
A perfect place to rest with family and friends .... there having a book and gift store, a restaurant and a walking area... a park having eye-catching colors, with some animals sculpture...
At the Frost Museum in Miami. Did a show. While there walked the park. The sculptures were beautiful. Not just cats but dogs also. Overall, it was a very nice facility. The staff was great.
It was very small. Not a lot of things to see. I thought that it's a couple hours of attraction, but I saw everything in almost a hour and a half. The place is still nice ,but very small.
Very nice park. Lots of people working out, walking their pets, kids having activities outside of the museum and just a very family oriented place. Seemed very safe , clean and friendly.
Beautiful! Clean! I didn't see an actual playground but I did see a walking trail. How gorgeous is this view! Perfect place for a evening picnic; afternoons are way too hot.
Nice public space often featuring interesting free events. Clean and safe during the day of our visit. Parking can be difficult and expensive. Nice children's museum nearby.
I love this park. It’s sprawling with lots of trees and green grass(and a parking lot!). They ever added in a gated dog park, and have started to add benches inside , etc.
Large grassy park in downtown Miami. Leads to the water, with paved trails and palm trees. Frequently has art exhibitions. There is a fenced dog park and public restroom.
Though wet today, this is definitely a nice park to visit with great views of downtown Miami and the cruise lines docked to take their visitors on a nice cruise.
I love this park, it has a small dog and large dog park section. Many birds & squirrels about. Parking is a challenge but it is a good park with spacious grass.
Beautiful park clean, has bathroom The exhibition is very nice. Great place to jog, walk, enjoy the outdoors right next to the museums. Had a great time .
Some dog (and cats) statues, each painted by a different person so it doesn’t really have a theme or any cohesive meaning. The park itself is just… grass.
We visited the Frost science museum at the park. Lots of fun for kids 4-12 ish. Plan for about an hour per level. We were there about 5 hours.
This place is awesome. Museum of Science. Visited the planetarium. It was a wonderful experience Learnt alot about black holes and outer space
Fun field trip to the Museum located in this park called the Frost Museum of Science and Planetarium! Lovely views of the heart of Miami!
Beautiful park that goes out to Biscayne Bay. Next to Frost Museum large replicas of dogs and cats are painted by world artists.
Loved getting to pet the sea-pancakes (rays) and I annoyed an owl...I think it's a win. Had fun :) take your time exploring.
I always enjoy a nice long walk here. Grab a snack while sitting down on one of the benches overlooking the bay. Blissful.
Place is worth every penny. Also vets get in for free. I am just amazed of the aquatic exhibits. Huge aquarium fan
I enjoyed the visit like a child. A beautiful work of art that the whole family will enjoy, especially children.
Great park to walk. Picnic. Watch the boat drive by. Family friendly. Skate boarded, rollerblade, bicycle
Beautiful park on the water with cool cat and dog statues.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of dogs around.

Such a fun public exhibit! The bright colors and exotic animal sculptures are great for kids.
