conveniently located on Chestnut street in the heart of the marina, it has two theaters showing the latest movies. I ventured here on friday to catch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1. As I was coordinating plans with my friends, it dawned on me that I had never seen the second one(Catching Fire). I only had a couple hours to spare. So much like Katniss in District 13, I scrambled to my underground bunker(aka the internet) to stream it online. Luckily I was able to find it and watch most of it before the show time. Sorry got a little off track. Tickets were $12 and I spent another $8.75 on a medium drink and popcorn. All-in-all a relatively inexpensive night in the marina that included "dinner" and entertainment. I dropped a couple stars because I had to run up to bathroom, then run back down to buy my food/drink, then run back into the theater only to find out the exit door faces the audience which made it awkward trying to find a seat while they judged my concession stand order.

Like this location for convenience, however, I wish the lobby would be redecorated with lighter, more vibrant, positive colors. It is dark and drab but should be given the architectural respect it deserves. Also, the theatre seats are for very petite people and there are steep stairs leading to the seats that are not senior friendly.

I truly have forgotten how much more atmospheric it is to enjoy movies in a quaint, intimate setting with velvet curtains and hot & delectably-delicious caramel popcorn.... which is our dessert after dinner on Chestnut Street, and where the community comes to gather and you might even run into your neighbors~!

A classic theater split into two separate rooms. While there was a bit of rumbling sound bleed through from the room next door (playing Aquaman), it was not intrusive. The seating in theater two is nicely set back and the legroom is pretty great; there really aren't any nose-pressed-to-the-screen seats here.

Tiny and cozy theatre, so please don't expect multiplex service or options in terms of snacks. Snacks are the usual, some candy, pop corn, ice cream, etc. More than enough for a movie night. In a really nice locality so no worries about leaving after a late night movie.

I love seeing movies at the two small theaters (Presidio and Marina) on Chestnut Street. Cute, cozy, and fun. Nice to support smaller businesses too! Grab a drink at Campus on a Tuesday after the movie as Jess is my favorite bartender!

We came here for a recorded concert viewing for "Rausch & Craziness", and this theatre was amazing! The manager and staff were super pleasant, and the acoustics of the place were excellent as well. Fantastic spot.

Great little theater. Snacks and soda are priced reasonably, theaters are small, but the screen and sound are decent quality. There's a certain charm to this place that you won't find in larger chain theaters

  • Evan Davis

Came here for a late movie (Top Gun 2). Both theaters are upstairs and the seating is comfy enough. We arrived as the previews were starting so we didn't get any concessions. Still, it was perfectly adequate.

I've passed by this place a lot. I always assumed this was tiny till now, but the place is big. The workers are friendly and have great personalities, unlike the big-box movie theater. Will come back again

Got two scoops of ice cream and the counter clerk made them as small as possible, cause the second scoop looked normal but he cut it in half. 6 dollars for two kiddie scoops. Will not be returning.

  • Dan Quine

Small but friendly neighborhood movie house. Pretty basic, but you get to watch popular movies with a good crowd of people while eating popcorn. So it works. The staff are friendly and helpful.

  • Fabien Curto Millet

Nice little cinema with a good location in the Marina area. Their theater 1 is a decent sized room. The seats and general infrastructure are not super modern, but it does the job.

  • Jack Guasta

Too expensive, very warm for an evening show. Theater and bathrooms are clean, but not well maintained (no soap).Turned on lights b4 in-credit scenes played in Marvel movie.

  • Talia Root

Even though they only have two screens the seats are way more comfortable than Presidio Theater!! Don't forget to grab cash at Wells or BofA because they don't take cards!!

  • Carolin Sturtevant

Cute lil hole in the wall theatre. Wonderful customer service and support. Elevator service was extremely helpful as there are stairs to get to theatre room.

  • Joe Macias

Quaint little theater that is perfect for watching a movie like House of Gucci, during those times when you want to avoid congested areas and places.

  • Alex

Friendly staff, good prices, and they have ice cream! The theaters themselves are a bit dated, but it's fine. They keep things reasonably clean.

  • RasedS Alonhfs

Super cute theater. Really small screen in an intimate setting. Not too bad if you want to avoid the masses. Most amazing caramel popcorn ever!

  • Ebert Kan

Really nice thrasher. Clean n comfortable. The people there are really nice. Good old fashion fun. Better to watch a movie on the big screen

  • Jeff Dee

30 bucks for a small theater experience. A dead pixel in the middle of the screen in theater 1. But atleast the popcorns reasonably priced

  • Sean Spediacci

Great theatre with fantastic screens, decent seats, and solid sound systems. Great neighborhood spot that I will continue to support.

  • Bats Daylights

Needs a renewal, old furnitures, hard to park nearby location. Overall you can still watch a movie decently but not comfy exp

  • Kevin Davidson

Theatre is clean and well kept. Comfy seats. Popcorn could be better. Actual popcorn bag sizes don't match display samples.

  • Liz McLean-Knight

Theater was cold. They do have beer but no wine. Stale nachos, no Twix, Kit Kat or Dove but they have vegan cookies.

  • Adam Wolf

I like this theater a lot. One of my favorites in SF. Not quite as fancy as some, but still nice and not too pricy!

  • Gary Levenson-Palmer

Nice local theater. Not a national chain. Easy to walk to in a neighborhood setting with many restaurants nearby.

  • Mariana Coinac

The most uncomfortable seats ever. You have space at all, it feels like the seats are for 3 years old kids.

  • L

Great neighborhood theatre in the marina district. Ask for multi pass tickets. Discount for 6 tickets pass.

  • Garrett Hayashida

Great neighborhood theater. Not as expensive as the big theaters. Limited selections.

  • Hank Hodes

They have two theaters, the larger theater one is a fine place to see a movie.

  • Quine's Home

Great little neighborhood theater. Friendly staff, and comfortable seating.

  • Heber G. Saurey

Amazing hidden gem. They serve Beer! Great night for all. Highly recommend!

  • Rick Henrikson

Sort of retro scene, seating can be limited, but they serve ice cream.

  • Subject Anthony

Good movie theater, we went and seen once upon a time in Hollywood.

  • Jonathan Roberts

A great small cinema. They give free water, that means a lot.

  • Joseph Eck

Always a good time. Plus the food cost is pretty competitive

  • Shridhar Ramachandran

Clean, cozy, close by. AND they accept Movie Pass.

  • Troy Johnson

Great movie. Loved the small feel they have

  • Fiorella Calderoni

Old seats but nice, small theaters
