A wonderful coffee experience! I get a red eye, that is my drink. At Monon Coffee, I have a choice of the light, medium, and dark roast that goes in the red eye. I got the medium roast, with 2 shots of expresso. I then put in soy and 2 splenda. I also have the option to do refills on a red eye, this I have never seen. There is also a whole bunch of different sweeteners, including a natural one. The dessert I had was excellent. I have gone 2 days in a row. Same great experience. Parking in back of Monon Coffee is free. The music that is very present and thoughtful. There are several different seating types from comfortable next to the window, to group room in the back. Monon Coffee has 2 community boards, local pottery, and they are cheerful. Monon Coffee also has punch cards for return business.I love coming Monon Coffee.
My girlfriend and I were in the mood to try a local, small coffeehouse instead of our usual Starbucks trip, so we picked Monon Coffee as I live in the Bripp area and I've heard plenty good about it. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed. The customer service was great considering only one person was working on a Saturday morning. She was prompt and working hard. But it would have been better having at least one more worker. More importantly, the drinks were just average at best. I wasn't expecting a sugary equal to my usual Starbucks, I understand the difference between the two. However, in comparison to other coffeehouses I have been to, the drinks just lacked flavor, was bland overall, and just forgetful. My girlfriend actually threw hers out and we stopped and got coffee from somewhere else instead.
I will provide some context that will surely invalidate my review for man coffee aficionados, in that I am an avid Dunkin' drinker. Just plain old hot coffee with some cream in it. I decided today to try something different and local. I found the coffee to be kind of blah. I tasted their french roast and some other ethiopian coffee. Both seemed a bit bland. I settled on the french roast. Nothing off putting about the coffee, it just wasn't particularly bold. The girl who took my order, while not rude, wasn't exactly friendly. Price was good though, at just $2.50 for a 20oz coffee. I wouldn't necessarily recommend, but wouldn't warn against it either. The most apt work I can come up with is "meh."

Came with a friend and got 3 drinks (black eye, drip coffee, honeysuckle lavender latte) and the coffee was quite bad I’m sorry to say. In my friends’ words, “it tasted like hot water with coffee flavoring”, and my black eye was similar (he got a dark roast so for that coffee to be weak says a lot). I see a lot of folks on here reviewing the lattes and mixed drinks and they seem to do that well but if you’re a coffee shop I think you ought to have your drip coffee and espresso nailed down. On a Hugh note, the interior was homely and the shop seems really community based which is awesome.

This is my second time at this establishment meant and has always been during the weekend during the morning time. There is usually a wait in line, but they do make sure to take their time to get your order right the first time which is nice. I've always gotten the Cold Brew, which has a nice bold taste. The staff is friendly. Would recommend this place, just be patient if you have to wait in line for your turn.

They just added more seating and it's a great move! I always love coming here for a refreshing, flavored Iced tea or a Lumberjack latte (fall-ish). The staff is nice and welcoming. There are two desserts you CAN'T miss out on: The pecan *delish gooey* bar and the coffee cake. They also have cold sandwiches, specialty drinks, breakfast breads, etc. They support local artists too- When you go in, pay close attention to the cabinets adjacent to the counter. There are clay (i think) coffee mugs, etc from local folks. Also, they have Indianapolis specific postcards/art boards. Really cool spot!
Cozy atmosphere with different sections for different uses. The front of the coffee shop has a big window for people watching and enjoying the sunshine in their big comfy chairs and couch. There's also a few small tables scattered throughout for one on one time with a friend or your computer. The back room is great for a quieter atmosphere with a few small tables and lots of great art. This coffee shop has it all from a huge variety of delicious coffee drinks to amazing unique smoothies and baked goods and sandwiches. Vegetarian/vegan options as well!
Unique and cozy place with decent coffee. Wouldn't recommend as a place to stay for an extended period of time if you need to be on a laptop and work for a while. I asked one of the girls behind the counter if she could watch my laptop while I used the restroom and she said "We are not responsible for any items left unattended, lost, or stolen." So that's a no, then. Good place to read a book or just grab a coffee. Can only assume they've had theft there before
The have so many great vegan options and if you tell them you're vegan they can offer substitutes. They used to have vegan baked goods too but I haven't seen them in lately. We stop in almost twice a month when we visit Broad Ripple. The vibe is very calm and relaxed. If you have a dog there are treats in the window you can grab on your way out. Even my pup supports my visits here lol

Coffee was well prepared and better then expected. Service was so so. The barista seemed like they knew what they were doing and did a great job in preparing my coffee and was very nice. On the other hand the person taking my order seemed almost back staby when I was ordering, kinda like they were questioning me and the order I made. I ordered a macchiato, nothing crazy, at all. Probably wouldn't go back just because I didn't feel welcome to be in the shop.
Great people. Great atmosphere. I've had a lot of their drinks over the years, and can't remember ever being disappointed. They've definitely been a local "go to" spot for a few decades. Parking can be tricky during busy times, but walking through the village is always a great option. They're still right off the Monon too. Don't forget to tip. They earn it. Updated: Still always great. Don't forget to check out the local artists on the wall too.
I can't say I enjoyed this shop. It has a very local feel and matches the Broad Ripple identity but the coffee just didn't wow me enough to come here. I had a drip coffee, trying all available at the time. Each selection was over roasted, forcing the drinker to add milk and or sugar. The space felt slightly dirty, which pushed me out the door that much quicker. I'm all for supporting local coffee, but I'll visit other shops over this one.
By far one of my favorite coffee shops ever, staff is always friendly and helpful and suggestive, coffee is always great, and with a friendly, fun atmosphere to boot. I do wish they had more seating outside, but it's by far the best.

This quaint, local cafe was perfect for an early morning study session for my friend and I. The staff was helpful and the options were plentiful. I was able to try a smoothie and some coffee and what I had was delicious, even on a freezing day. The atmosphere was not only perfect for relaxing while reading a good book, but also enjoying good company. Monon Coffee Company is a must when in Broad Ripple.
The employees on Sunday were amazing! Super kind. I was able to try a small sample of one of the specialty drinks and I loved it so I ordered one. I will definitely be back! Smaller and darker inside than expected. Not a ton of seating. It was chilly Sunday but I sat at a table outside the coffee shop with a friend. Lovely area.

First time trying today. It was an awesome experience! The vibes from the staff were the best!! I want to come back everyday because of them!!!! I had a matcha with espresso it was very delicious. They have a wonderful selection & the espresso flavor profile is a fruity medium roast which pairs wonderful with Lattes! Bailey and Dana!!! This place also has really great prices!! It was truly Gem!
It's okay! It won't blow you away but you'll get a fair priced cup of coffee. Unfortunately, Broad Ripple doesn't have a really stellar cafe to hit up but this is your best bet. The interior could really use a remodel to make it up to standard. If you're in the area and need a fix, this is a good quiet place to look at. If you're into coffee and want something to impress you, look elsewhere.
Loved my coconut iced coffee with sweet cream! My husband liked his latte as well. Their pastries looked really nice. They have lots of smoothie options on the menu, and I love the creative coffee drinks they do here! The staff are friendly and informative - always a plus! Nice space inside to sit as well.

After waiting over 15 minutes for the barista to finish chatting with the person in front of me about things that had nothing to do with the order, a second employee decided to take the order of the person behind me…and then when I finally did order, my order came out completely wrong…total waste of time and would NOT recommend

Had a great hot latte in a mug since I was sitting in the Cafe. Service was quick, friendly, and served up a delicious drink. I loved all of the art available for sale by the entrance, really added to the character of the place. Parking, even if metered, is very cheap at 1.30 on Parkmobile for 30 minutes.

Always a very nice experience in the heart of Broadripple. A whole lot better than the mainstream Starbucks scene. Try the Monon Coffee shop. You will not be wasting your time or money. Better quality products than Starbucks as well. Not a Starbucks hater but the company gets way too much credit over their hype coffee. I do organic at Monon and pay less.
Great place by the monon trail in broad ripple, excellent coffee and atmosphere. Great place to do work, study or just a place to catch up with friends. Love supporting our small businesses. Make sure to check it out.

Tea selection is always on point (today I tried lime ginger green rooibos!) I love the atmosphere and the sweetest baristas always. p.s. They typically have fresh bagels from Bagel Fair (in Nora), so I snagged a honey wheat and I'm already craving another. Cheers!

My favorite coffee shop in Broad Ripple! Their coffee is so good and they have a huge variety. My favorite go to is the Mona Lisa and their white zombie is a must try! They also sell delicious baked goods from a local bakery which normally include vegan options! The staff is always so friendly. They are the definition of a local coffee shop.
Great coffee and service! With snacks from local companies. Great local place, please give them a try! They could use the support after the pandemic and construction! Support local! Also way more affordable then Starbucks and surrounding coffee shops

Cute coffee shop with tasty baked goods as well. Non-dairy milk available for the vegans and allergy crowd. Seating is a little tight, so this isn't really a place to sit down and hog a table with your laptop. But it's a great spot to grab coffee and dessert after getting a meal at one of the many restaurants nearby.
We are from out of town and stopped in for an after dinner coffee. The place was cute and service was good but the latte I got tasted like water and my husbands just tasted like vanilla syrup. We did come in close to closing time so maybe that had something to do with it? I'm not sure, but I was pretty disappointed.
I get brain freeze from this place all the time but for review purposes we will say Smoothies. Malted Monkey is my favorite so far. The staff is very friendly and Liz is great. Sadly not a coffee person but they have a great selection of tea and smoothies that I can enjoy. It has a nice atmosphere and feels cozy.
They made a decent latte. Good quality, but not the best craftsmanship I've had. The vanilla also was a little too much for me. Feel like its is not as sweet and more balanced other places. Not a huge selection of food to eat either. Would go back if I were in the area, but would not go out of my way to visit.
I absolutely love everything about monon coffee co. and the amazing people that make it as magical as it is. I can always count on having a great conversation with Chris, Liz, or eli and know that my coffee will be perfect. Their cute decor and spacious area always make for an effective knitting spot ♡
A very warm and inviting place. Quiet, but not in a awkward way. People chatting and music softly playing in the background. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Coffee is deeeelicious here. The white zombie drink is my favorite. Lots of choices for drinks and snacks like bagels and cakes too.
Wonderful local business... definitely my preferred coffee shop in all of Indianapolis. They also offer lots of baked treats, including vegan items! My personal recommendation is to get the iced White Zombie, with rice milk instead of regular milk. It is one of the most delicious beverages ever.
Best coffee shop in the area. Monon Coffee Company has delicious drink specials (lumberjack latte is amazing!) & great classic lattes. I love the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. It sells art and other local items in the store. Thankful to have this coffee shop in the neighborhood.
My boyfriend introduced Monon to me and now I come all the time! It’s really nice to come somewhere and have the baristas recognize you. The coffee is great and reasonably priced! I love coming when it’s not too busy with a book and ordering a Caramel Latté. I highly recommend this spot :)
Great local coffee shop with a ton of unique drink options plus everything you'd expect. Staff is friendly and always happy to help you pick a new drink. They have a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies and a few pastries. Great vibe that feels connected to the community. More
I've been here 3 times and ordered the same drink each time. The cost was different each time and tasted different each time. Not a good thing. The staff was friendly enough and the location is cool but I expect my coffee drinks to be consistent. I will not return here, sorry.
Baristas were very helpful. They made the drink I ordered just perfectly and they have a great selection of coffees, smoothies, and baked goods. There isn't a ton of seating inside, but there is enough for about two groups of fiveish and a couple tables for one or two people.
Located in the Broad Ripple area, this coffee shop is located in the center of so many attractions and artwork. You can relax outside and Sip your coffee, or take it to go and enjoy the surrounding area. There are wonderful pastry items here and they offer milk alternatives.
This place is pretty horrible. The coffee is almost never fresh, the espresso shots are always over extracted. If you actually like coffee, probably not the place to go. Furthermore they were pretty rude to me when I went, no one greeted me they all just stood around taking.
Met here for a business meeting. Was nice! Little too loud for a business meeting, but I’d go back again for the coffee! Definitely worth trying!

The coffee is unaffordable for broke people and the atmosphere is not ptsd friendly. I went up to make a suggestion and was immediately met with a snarky tone and shut down entirely while I was speaking. It was a horrible experience as a queer person struggling with trauma.
Nice staff that takes the time to explain their offerings and let you sample if you're not sure. The passion their people have for coffee shows, but they're patient and accepting of coffee newbies (like myself). I'd recommend trying the White Zombie or the Buttery Zombie.
For me the coffee just falls a bit flat. I expect bold and sharp coffee at boutique shops, but the three I tried at the self-service bar tasted watery. No crispness or bold flavors. Perhaps they had an off day, but based on my experience I can't recommend stopping here
TERRIBLE service, and so is the coffee. There are many other, better local shops in Indianapolis. Go there and actually have a good time.

My boyfriend and I visited this cozy coffee shop! We really enjoyed our white chocolate mocha and cappuccino. The white chocolate mocha was not too sweet, it was very subtle. The cappuccino was very smooth and frothy! The place is a little pricey though.
My daughters worked there 24 - 25 years ago. It had the best coffee and atmosphere at that time. The current owner worked with my daughters as an employee. She has remodeled the business and it still has the wonderful smells and great coffee. …
Really great place! $2 for large coffee and 50 cent refills makes this a consistent hang out for me. Super friendly staff, a great selection of coffee, tea and everything else, awesome local art on the walls and you can't go wrong with this place.
Lovely little place with lots of coffee and tea options. They had quite a few food options as well with vegan pastries and such. It gets pretty crowded when they're busy, so depending on when you go, you might have a hard time finding a seat.
Nice place at Broad Ripple. With all the fru-fru places about, one can relax, enjoy a cuppa without worrying about one's attire or walking in with a Visa gold card. ... Also, they have interesting creations that make returning again and
Highly recommended. These people really know their beans. I have always been a bit of a coffee connoisseur and Monon went above my expectations. They have a bean there that is barely roasted which means the bean is almost white. I would
Quiet cozy place with an organic, chill, and local vibe. Serving tasty treats, smooth coffee, and an assortment of smoothies, teas, and espresso drinks. If you want a place to read a book and get a good drink this is a great place.
This place is great. Very cozy local coffee shop. They have everything you’d expect on the menu, and it’s done well. They also offer their own fun seasonal selections. Try their chai latte; it’s way better than any chain’s chai.
Having been away from Indy for 12 years, I was happy to find that the Monon hadn't changed, except for the owner. Leslie has worked there for as many years as I can remember and now owns it. Still the best coffee place in town.
Best coffee shop in Broad Ripple, always 3-4 fresh brewed coffee selections (always FTO and lately they have featured a delicious local brand). Also my pups love that they keep treats by the door and the staff is amazing. (:
I love the coffee here. The Choo Choo Brew is one of my favorites. But the seating is very limited and people seem to come in and camp out at tables for a long time, so it's never a guarantee that you'll have a place to sit.
I still love this place! You can never go wrong with a classic latte, a White Zombie, or their drip coffee. Everyone is so nice and welcoming! I plan on going back tomorrow for a jalepeno bagel and cream cheese!
A tiny tight busy little place with quality made to order drinks. Introduce yourself to your neighbor 'cus you'll be sitting really close to them. If you want something more hippy than hipster, this is the place
I love Monon Coffee! The staff are great. The coffee is delicious! The pumpkin bread is the best, and served year round. I've spent many many hours here working on homework. Favorite broad ripple coffee shop!
Good coffee like you’d expect. Was super packed when we went but some folks saw us struggling to find seating and then they offered their table since they were done. Nice midwestern guys. Go get coffee here!

It'd been a minute since my last visit, but the shop had gotten a facelift in the interim. Looks great! Fresh look, same cozy feel and great drinks! Beats the generic Starbucks vibe any day of the week.
Super cute and lovely small locally owned coffee shop. Construction hasn't been kind to this corner of Broadripple but they're still hopping and smiling inside. The latte is always a winner. More

The improvements, or renovations to the shop are good, and the service from the baristas is great. They have the edge over most coffee shops with location, being so close to the Monon Trail.
Long-standing local coffee shop. Super-duper staff, deep selection of top baked goods and stellar coffee. Great for meetings or study time. Grab a dog biscuit for the pooch on your way out.
Highly recommend any of the zombie drinks. Everything has a great price, including the goods from Rene's Bakery. A good amount of seating inside, as well as lots of info on local events
