We picked Motel Restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner. It was also my first time trying Chicken & Waffles, so the spot was carefully selected at that angle We ended up highly satisfied with that choice. The second the fried chicken was placed in front of me, I could smell it's amazing aroma. The skin was crispy, and the chicken wasn't greasy. The waffles were soft and of delicate sweetness. Husband had amazing looking full breakfast with uniquely cut bread and impressively thick bacon. I also enjoyed a couple of mixed drinks, which allowed me to experience the wonder of candied bacon (was amazing). The staff was attentive and accommodating. They indulged me in my mixed drinks pickiness, and encouraged us to relax by the glass of something nice, even though we finished our dinner slightly after closing time. The interior is pleasant, and tasteful, with a Motel theme interwoven. Hoping to come back one day and try the legendary pancakes

Motel Restaurant is a great place for a date. It’s aesthetic is pleasing with pink walls, teal floors, neon signs and plants. The service was excellent and staff were very friendly. Of course the food prices are not diner prices but they reflect the quality and quantity of the food. I had the fried chicken which was three boneless pieces over a generous bed of Cajun seasoned fries. There was a spicy mayo and a sweet and spicy sauce for dipping. Very happy with my choice! I also liked that you could pay using your phone by scanning the QR code at the table. The only thing that could be improved is the coffee, specifically the latte. It tasted funny, like maybe oat milk was used, or maybe the beans were just off. Overall a five and I’ll be back for another special occasion or when I have visitors from out of town.

So first off loved the food it was presented well, and tasted lovely! I had the BLT with tater tots (totally recommended) and my sister had the strawberry flapjacks. My biggest issue was we reserved a table on OpenTable and it was for 10-12pm for brunch but when we arrived they said it's only until 11:30 than promptly at 11:30 the servers came to ask us to leave for the next reservation. My sister still had half her drink. Also the fact that it took a good 30minutes+ before we even were asked for our order. Was not happy with the poor planning on their part.

Food was ok, big meals. The ambiance of the place was really nice, and the servers were really good and kind. Mostly is by appointments and they do have walk in’s but you will have to wait for a little bit. They have online paying for the bill which is really nice. There menu is limited to few items which is something that I really appreciate. They have vegan and vegetarian options as well which is really good. I have pouched eggs with potato, it was really good, well done, and the eggs were delicious. I was full with few bites and there was way too much potato on the palate. My friend had a fired chicken sandwich and for him it was a really bad experience.

The food was tasty but the restaurant does not accommodate to dietary restrictions. I do not eat eggs, many items come with eggs placed on top. I had requested to have the egg removed which was denied. I tried to be flexible and ask for the egg to be on the side which was also denied. The reasoning was that the owners are particular of plating and deny all alterations. I find it odd the restaurant will prioritize the image of the food rather than satisfying the customer. Seems like people posting their food on instagram is more important than giving a positive customer experience.

You will fall in love with this adorably themed eatery. The staff are amazing….knowledgeable, patient and clearly passionate about food. The deliberately kitschy shabby-chic decor is wonderful. The locally sourced food is delectable…every item, every bite. The portions are large enough to serve as food challenges and the artistic presentation is perfect. There’s a pink phone on the counter…if it works, use it to call everyone you know and tell them about Motel!

The Concierge, No Tell Eggs Benny

Came in from Toronto and got to try this place and wow. The service was amazing and the atmosphere really created a great experience. The staff really went above and beyond for us. The portions were great and the quality was amazing. You can tell they really think of how to compliment different flavors into every single dish and that they're meticulously thought out. I got the chicken and waffles which were perfectly fluffy and packed with flavour and the sauces created a nice combination of sweet and a touch of spicy. My date had the Concierge breakfast which she claims was delicious, and the bacon was thicker than a shawdy on nice summers day

Lots of hype. Ordered two cocktails that were decent. The ceaser was overly salty but nice. Ordered the 3 piece chicken and Benedict. The chicken was good and nice sauces to dip. The Benedict had some great elements but quickly turned mushy. The waffle just didn't hold up to the red sauce or the hollandaise. Overall I left feeling highly seasoned and somewhat disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high? Maybe poor menu choices? On the up side, the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was excellent.

Definitely a restaurant I'll go back to. Had the chicken and waffles, it was surprisingly light and flavourful, with a bit of a kick from the honey hot syrup. My companions ordered French toast, and a variety breakfast plate. The toast is thick and light. The portions don't disappoint.

The food, atmosphere and service from the staff are absolutely top tier! This was my second time coming to Motel, and each time I try a new meal, side dish or specially crafted drink, I am always pleasantly surprised! My personal favourite is the spiced chai latte, sooo delicious! Coming here with company or to enjoy a meal on your own is worth every penny, and I will be coming back again for more! :)

…what a wonderful find. Great vibe, great food, great drinks and great service. The small size of the restaurant means you’re always in view of the servers, and the food was super fun and expertly prepared. I had a Caesar, which I’d highly recommend… served with bacon it was truly outstanding. At our table, we tried the fried chicken, the BLT, the bellman, the concierge, etc etc. All were amazing and we can’t wait to go back. Reminiscent of the old Lady Marmalade vibe in Leslieville before it relocated and lost its soul.

Ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the strawberry cream flapjacks with pistachios. Everything was delicious. We could not finish our brunch as it was very filling and you definitely get more food then you can eat I would recommend this place for a different alternative then a traditional breakfast/brunch.

Not to miss breakfast!!!! Do yourself a favour and reserve a table. They get booked fast so don’t expect to just walk in! Staff were friendly and engaging. They did not hover or rush us. Been here in two occasions now and it was a pleasure. First visit I ordered the blue moon hot cakes. Lovely presentation. Second visit the concierge with sunny side eggs, challah bread, sweet bacon and sausage. Soooo delish!!! I am definitely going back to try a different item on their menu. Lots of great choices!

Had a great brunch experience at Motel! Originally we reserved to eat indoors but the staff member gave us the options to eat out on the patio due to A/C issues. The staff members were very friendly and the food tasted great! Definitely would like to try the other items on the menu!

I liked this place! Everything was cooked well. My only issue was not understanding why they have such a strict "no modifications" policy. Even hearing the reasoning behind it was pretty extra. It's quite weird, especially since I didn't ask for anything out of the ordinary.. I just wanted to have a meatless eggs Benny.. but oh well.

What a terrific brunch spot! Cannot say enough great things about the food and service. Ginormous portions paired with amazing taste, you will not be disappointed. Had the chicken and waffles, while others tried different items off the menu and we were very happy with our meal and experience. The server was very genuine and made our experience that much better. Good thing I live just down the street, I will be back for more

The restaurant has decent food and service but the floors and some walls are quite filthy, as in never scrubbed . I tried to overcome that during brunch , however, the grime build up was too noticeable to overlook and that is why I can only consider 3 stars .

The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The portions of chicken were large that I had to take some home and the fries and waffles were cooked perfectly. My only complaint was that there are no modifications allowed at all, we didn’t want the aioli sauce on the sandwich but were advised that was not possible, still not sure why so we had to get something else.

Good service and good food (big portions)! We got The Concierge and the 3 piece chicken. Service was also really good. It’s on the pricier side for breakfast food (we got a sangria, coke, and coffee as well). It’s really cool how you can pay using a QR code from your phone, very efficient! Covid safe as well - barriers between tables, check vaccine status, etc.

We just celebrated my mother's birthday here. I will say that Motel is probably the best brunch spot in Hamilton. It's so good that I tell everyone I know in Toronto to come to Hamilton just to go to Motel! I'm still amazed at the quality of the food and the portions for the price. Unique retro hotel aesthetic with pink and teal colour theme. Their brunch menu is diverse with savoury and sweet options depending on your taste. Love their extra thick slices of challah toast! Food was great and portions were quite large. I found their drink options to be a bit limited and quite pricy.

Quality, quantity, flavor, aesthetic, and reasonably priced. I’m always looking forward to returning to this establishment. The vibes are great, the playlist…chefs kiss. I’ve only tried two of their dishes, but this one is definitely my favorite so far.

Incredible brunch with generous portions. Love the new cashless concept and paying for the bill through a QR code and app. The challah toast was incredible and the champagne pancakes are a must try!
