Updates in September 2023 Electric gates are added which will raise when driving slowly towards the gate. Entry and exit the car park require special attention, focus and skills because the road is in “S” shape with hanging pillars. The stairs are very smelly. While the parking fee is lower than other car parks nearby, would suggest a careful consideration before using it because scratching the car would be costly. Unfortunately, I scratched my car on yesterday ======== A car park in the city center with sharp turn and narrow parking spaces, but clear directions. I visited on Jan 27, 2023 for 1 hour. Only one payment machine was found at ground level but it was not working, tried to find another machine at 4th floor where I parked my car but not successful. I pressed the help button from the payment machine at ground floor, the lady answered my call quickly. She was helpful, patient and called my phone to guide me through. The drawback is the speaker on the machine is not good that hearing from what she said is a challenge.
Awful car park. Attended a concert opposite and thought it was the easiest place to park. I wish I’d stick to the selfridges car park! It’s definitely not made for anything larger than a mini. My car only missed the overhead barrier by 1cm. The spaces are tiny. The whole place stinks of wee. Druggies collapsed on the staircase. Came back to my car and there was smashed glass all over the space next to me, the other car had obviously been broken into. While we were queuing to get out, we didn’t use the Dale end exit, we used the alternative. I wish I hadn’t. We were in a queue to exit and I put my ticket in the barrier and moved forward slightly to join the traffic ahead (probably 1mph) and my car got stuck! There was an almighty crunch and the bollard/high kerb took half of my car off. Why they’d put that at such a tight exit I do not know. I’ll be contacting ncp to make a complaint about the whole experience.
If I could - I would give 0 stars. Parked there today and apart from it being central to the Bulleinf, there are no positive points. The spaces are tiny, all of the barriers are worn and scuffed and it is nigh on impossible to navigate the right corners and to get to the exit. Stairwells and lifts are filthy, reeking of human waste, littered with rubbish. We paid £5.80 for around 3 hrs, then the chaos started trying to get out. It took us a good 25 mins to make it to the bottom floor, there we found some staff directing the chaos, when we came to the barrier, we had to pay another £1.45! It was not our fault that it took so long to get out of the car park. Avoid if you can!
You need to be a good/ace driver to negotiate this car park without either scraping your car of someone else's. The ramps are very narrow and this is especially felt when exiting. A near hairpin bend to reach the final ramp and exit is virtually impossible to safely transverse. The staircases smell of urine and give a feeling of about to be mugged. I will only use this place at peak daylight time. Clearly built over 50 years ago when cars were not as wide as they are now. All parking bays are too narrow which means passengers have to exit before the driver parks in the bay. About time this car park was upgraded. Avoid it if you can.
Didn't like that you can't pay for parking with actual money and have to use a card, payment amount was also rounded up. The spaces with the concrete posts have a ridiculous metal frame around the bottom which is about 40cm tall and sticks out from the post about 15cm, it cannot be seen easily using mirrors and is lower than bonnet level so difficult to see if driving in forward, when I was walking back to my car I saw 2 other cars collide with the metal frames causing damage to their vehicles. 1 was reversing in, the other was driving forward into the space. These frames are a danger to any vehicle using this car park.
I’ve been parking here for work days over 2 years. It is getting better, but there is still a lot of work to be done. There is already more faculty members on site during busy hours, but CCTV needs to be installed as a priority - especially considering the prices! Returning to my car after work one day, I’d found that somebody had scraped my front bumper in 4 locations and clearly just drove off, leaving no note - NCP had no suggestions to help. The only cctv on-site is on the pay machines... The area is quite rough, with many dodgy characters hanging around the car park and surrounding area, does feel quite unsafe.
Shame that the blue badge parking is on a slope. Made pushing my wife's wheelchair to the lift hard work. On the whole not a real complaint just an observation. I am sure there are other areas of the car park that would be much better suited if some thought had been put into it or, God forbid, a real disabled person had been involved. On a similar note the payment machine is also too high to be used easily by someone in a wheelchair. That aside we visited at lunchtime on a Friday, there were spaces without queueing, the lifts worked and didn't smell and exiting was easy. Charges for a city centre were reasonable.
Great location for getting into Brum town, that’s the only benefit here. The car park is so run down and battered that you don’t even want to take the stairs there. The spaces inside are extremely tight, I have a small car and some of those spaces still looked too tight. Also, the entrance and exit are right next to each other, without any separations. It can be extremely tight getting out. Would only park here because of the location. NCP as a car park company are overpriced and a poor parking company in my opinion, especially for their locations in Coventry and Birmingham.
A disgusting car park, stairs stink of urine, the place is a state, parking spaces cramped, a dangerous shutter on entrance and exit that doesn't work properly, tight bends, ridiculously small parking spaces. Usually I parked here as the price was cheaper and it is a fair compromise for the car park being such a state. However they have now put the prices up and they are similar to other nearby car parks. AVOID AVOID AVOID and park elsewhere. Maybe your car will be safer and it will feel less like a death trap inside.
Has bays marked where your car literally cannot fit, scraped my car once and learnt the hard way. Also the machines at the barriers struggle to read the qr code in sunny weather, the call for help button wasn't working on my exit and had to get out my car and stand next to the other one to get help. Finally got through to someone and she started giving me attitude and hung up on me, I had to call again, someone else answered who I could hear giggle. Literally spent 20mins just trying to gtfo.
On my 1st visit I wasn't aware that it was a card only carpark so had to go elsewhere. The 'elswhere' carpark ended up costing me £7.00 for only 2hrs (eek)! At this location, the bays are indeed tight and the smell can be quite off-putting which can make you wonder what's been allowed to go on here. However, it's very convenient, and the cost ph is significantly cheaper than others, so for 2hrs it was only £3.00. You have to decide whether cost or convenience is the priority.
A large NCP Carpark but not well signed in the carpark. It is very tight to move around and the parking spaces are very small. It states that levels 2 and 4 have larger parking spaces so bare this in mind when you use the carpark. No one wants to give way either. Watch out for pedestrians as there are no pedestrian walkways on level 1 which is where we parked. We paid £8 for about 4.5 hours parking. The main plus is that you are next to the new primark and the bull ring.
Do not park here!!!!!! Left car in car park over night came back to two smashed windows. There was also 4/5 other cars that had been broken into also. There is no security or no one to speak to. After speaking to locals they said this has been going on for a long time and NCP haven’t done anything but are still charging 15/20£ for overnight parking. They should hire overnight security to man the car park especially if they charging people to park!!!! Absolute joke
The worst parking ever. Every time I use this parking their machine do not accept either my card or park pass app. Then when call no one respond. If they respond they said we don’t hear you. When they hear they say we will sort this out and then they won’t. The parking itself is also sooooo dirty and smelly. Lifts also sometimes work sometimes don’t work. I think they should use some of the money to improve the parking instead of putting in their pocket.
Price isn't too bad for central Birmingham but the spaces are far too tight for modern cars (needs remarking for two bays where there are currently three as people park as if this is the case anyway). The direction arrows make no sense and mostly need repainting. Looking very sorry for itself and generally doesn't feel a safe place to be. All in all, somewhere to park when better alternatives are full but I wouldn't choose to park here otherwise.
Very unsafe. First time visit to Birmingham city centre and parked overnight here as advised by hotel. Didn't feel great as smells of urine and didn't know the area, but thought roller shutters on the entrance and needing a ticket to access the site on foot would be ok. Returned to find car had been vandalised and a break in attempted. Awful awful place. No assistance available and felt very unsafe even in middle of the day
This car park is an absolute joke, a rip off, filthy and awfully designed. The car parking spaces are so narrow car door dents are inevitable and there are only pay stations on the ground floor. Sign posting for the exit doesn't exist on the vast majority of floors and the lifts are disgusting. Lastly, if you're happy to pay £16 for just over two hours this is the place for you. Extortion. Would give zero stars if I could.
Car was broken into despite having nothing of value in it. We thought it would be more secure due to needing a ticket to get into the carpark. On top of this the Travel lodge told us we would be entitled to a discount and gave us a ticket for this but did not work as we were using the app so got charge full price, queried this asking NCP for partial refund and they were not prepared to help wat all.
I will never park here again. Complete scammers. Bays are marked for 3 cars but are far too tight for 3 cars to fit in. They also have marks as if they are for 2 cars but it appears that they are marked this way to enable them to send fines out stating you parked incorrectly. The stairs absolutely stink or urine. I would rather pay a more expensive car park and avoid the experience to be honest.
Awful place to park. No instructions, we thought it was closed due to the shutters being down. Finally figured out that it was to keep it secure. Really struggled to find the pay machines. Such tight bays and to get out round the final bends was really tight, glad I was in our smaller car. Scanning your ticket 3 times to exit seems a bit excessive to me. Really awful smell in the stairwells.
Poor car park, urine smell around stairwells. Wouldn't really recommend, bays are really tight on the ground/1st floor and nearly every parking bay is covered with a support beam and drainage which makes it nearly impossible to get out of. You have to park on the higher levels of the car park to get wider bays to make. Still best place to park in the city centre at reasonable prices.
most disgusting car park i have ever visited, i think they forgot to write at entrance " this car park is only for mini cars" if you have a normal saloon please do not try to go inside it will be a big driving skills test while going through those narrow turns and parking space ohhh my god those are so narrow if you park in between 2 cars you wont be able to come out,
Overpriced and under delivers. Why are you packing SO MANY cars together. You end up having no space to get out. Not only that but the spaces next to the pillars are almost never used because they're tiny, and have gutters running on the side so basically super useless taking up a car space. You could have increased the sizes of all spaces by reducing your greed.
3 stars only cause it is reasonably priced . If you park here better reserve yourself an hour or so when the barrier stops working . Management and the whole system needs massive overhaul also it is quite tight so if you're a fresh driver do not recommend. The company is happy to charge you but not very interested in keep it clean and in working order .
The car park is secure and conveniently located in the city centre and the prices aren't too bad. However the spaces are very narrow and there's been many instances where there is a strong smell of urine in the car park and stairway. There are a few disabled spaces but no parent and child spaces which can be inconvenient for those with little ones.
Decent car park for shopping in town, possible to pay on card at the exit barrier also. Prices can be good depending on day and time of year. There are always spaces on the upper levels even at peak times, only negatives are the elevators can be slow and are frequently out of order, and the stairways don't smell the most pleasant.
Awful dark scary place ,full of bagheads and muggers , not even vampires will come here its that bad. The attendants are the missing link that scientists have been looking for for hundreds of years , make sure you are suitably protected against diseases before you enter, you can drive in but you can never leave .
Not a massive fan of this place, a lot of drivers tend to like to see how fast they can tank round it, and although there was parking attendant on the door when i went to pay and retrieve my car, it still didn't feel that safe. There were plenty of spaces, floor 2 and 4 have wider spaces for larger vehicles.
Very old-fashioned car park - dark, dingy and smelly. On the way out the automatic payment machine had a problem and there was nobody on site who could assist. Only option was to speak to someone remotely and we ended up having to reverse up the ramp with cars queuing behind in order to get out.
Easy place to get in and out of Birmingham when traffic is fair. Good price and top floors have better spaces between cars. Only problem is getting up and down. They just need to update the building interior it always smells funny. Otherwise for the price its not a bad place to park your car.
This is a very tight car park and a challenge for your parking skills! It's one of the older car parks with lots of concrete pillars that, if you're not careful, you'll park and realise you or your passengers can't get out That said, it's a good location and reasonably priced.
Worst car park in the city centre I think it was designed to accommodate wheel Barrows only! every other car park space has a supporting roof column so you pretty much cant open the door of your vehicle .entrance and exit are too tight and if you like urine your in the right place
Great location. Just a short walk to the centre of town. Can be a bit tight for larger vehicles/4x4s and the stairs smell of urine. However, weekend charges are cheap so if you can hold your nose, then it’s worth it, and is a fraction of Bull Ring or other central car parks.
Pretty much always a space regardless of it being a weekend or weekday, what time it is. Literally a minutes walk into town. Kinda run down. Stairs and elevators smell, in true British form, pee. But, that's hardly a problem, you're not going to be in then for long
It's a carpark, perfectly useable. Just a bit scary when you rock up at night because the lifts/walk ways need some tlc. Oh and if you have a modern car the bays are fairly narrow & short. (Half foot at the sides and foot either front or back would fix that)
Very very very disappointed and discussed with the lack of service at the NCP CAR PARK Birmingham I surely will not recommend anybody to park in this car park because there are not reliable and not helpful in The Emergency service …
Fairly decent car park. Better now that they locked the doors to the stairs. Wider bays on certain levels. You need to be very careful in the narrow bays, there are protruding pipes on the pillars, which can damage cars. Nasty smell in stairwell.
convenient location a step away from shops and convenient for shopping just one note, some parking spaces are inconvenient for parking a larger vehicle. there are pipes that stick out from each pillar and so take up space to accommodate the car.
Central carpark reasonable price but very narrow entrance and exit and very narrow bays. A lot of bays unusable due to support posts and drainage pipes. There are also dead ends where if spaces are full you will have difficulty turning around.
Very poor service might be cheap but Ive waited over an hour to get out due to only one exit barrier being open and no staff. This is appalling especially with it being Christmas time I will never park here again!!!!! Please be careful folks!
Cheapest car park in the city centre especially if you have the NCP app as its cheaper than getting an actual ticket. Does get quite busy. Lifts are really narrow and tiny so consider this if you have gigantic pushchairs as you may struggle.
Old school stinky multi storey with tight spaces and columns for small cars from 50 years ago. However, it is in a great position for pretty much the whole of town and is proper cheap so we'll worth it. It gets busy though so get in early.
It needs to be demolished & rebuilt. Small, tight parking spaces, cleanliness is poor. The stench of urine in the staircase is sickening. For a car park that makes £1000's daily, employ a cleaner to wash the stairs down with disinfectant!
Don't go there...I repeat, don't ever go there. The whole place stinks of pee, extremely tight parking spaces, always busy during the weekends. If you need to park your car near Bullring, then choose the parking near Selfridge building.
Never again!!!! Visited Birmingham and could not believe 4 hours was £19.80! Take note of the healthy heart signs… you will need a healthy heart… anyone with a heart condition AVOID!!!!! You will end up with a heart attack upon paying.
Good prices, handy for our visit to the think tank, but stairwell a bit dirty/smelly and the door back in to the carpark wouldn't open when you scanned your ticket, had to wait for someone to exit through the door so we could get in.
Cheap car park in centre of Birmingham city centre. Few minutes walk to Marks and Spencer, the world's largest Primark, Bull Ring etc. Drive carefully though as quite narrow approaches to the levels and some parking spaces are tight
Had my back window smashed in whilst parked there. Only assistance form NCP was to tape a bin bag to my back window. Expected a slightly better service, security and assistance afterwards, especially considering how much it cost.
Like that place and always park they when ever I go to Birmingham, but only bed point last 2 time I tried to pay by app as its cheaper but system not allowed me pay by app. Other then that it's very close to city centre safe
Good location for access to town centre, well priced. Parking spots can be a bit tight in places and for the germphobes, the corridors are not the cleanest so hold the doors with a tissue and hold your breathe …
Very small spaces. Narrow lanes. Not well marked. Dark walkways. Definitely cheaper than the other parking spaces around but not sure if it's worth it. Okay for small cars , SUVs will have a struggle
Convenient location, but a bit grim. Gang of youths swinging on the exit barriers and harassing cars as they left wasn't exactly reassuring. If it had manned security we'd give it four stars.
Very close to centre area and if you download the NCP app, the parking prices would be much cheaper than paying at the machine! I usually park my car there and it’s safe with loads of spaces!
The bays are extremely tight with pillars and pipes for almost every single bay. All passengers would need to get off the car before getting in the bay. Would definitely avoid this car park.
Great carpark, surprised how cheap it was for central Birmingham right next to the HMV I needed to go to. Also felt very secure with wide disabled parking bays and shutters on every floor.
Affordable parking prices. A lot of spaces available during weekdays. Does get busy on weekends. You can download the app and set up the card so no need to worry about change.
Worst place ever! Parked my car, got it's window smashed and valuables stolen, but car park will refund only a parking fee! Ridiculous! Safer to park on the street than there.
Very good value but in a not so great area, which is why NCP require a ticket or QR code to enter. Even shutters for cars before entering. But it is central and great value.
Great location, very close to the town center. I like that you can use a card to pay. But, the parking spaces are small and there was a really bad smell on the staircase.
stink of urine smell everywhere esp after the rain spreaded the urine everywhere. u can almost smell in your car carpet. only one advan, it is cheap in the city centre.
Very narrow enter/exit lanes and high curb you can easily damage your wheel. Staircase stinks of urine, lots of used needles and broken glass. Not recommended!
Nice parking, easy to get spaces above all you pay less if you are paying by their App. So download their app to get discount on parking charges.
Not the most salubrious car park, although the stairs are almost free from the smell of urine. Females would not like car park late at night.
Very secure, but not entirely easy to find in the dark after a long drive. Also a tad expensive, but worth it for the security features
Hard to get into amd hard to get out of. Stairwells stunk of goodness knows what and its not even reasonable in terms of price.
Convenient location and cheap but smells quite bad and very tight spaces. Drive very carefully or you WILL scrape your car
Vest value car park for bullring. Very tight inside but manageable with parking sensors. Lift stinks so I use the stairs.
Omg stuck in traffic for over half an hour rude worker wouldn’t tell us what was happening dont park in here verg dodgy
This car park is well located but is really low. SUV Hundai Tucson it's fine. Not far from city and New Street …
Easy to use. I e en used the app for a cheaper price. Just show the qr code u Der the scanner when going in and out.
Great city centre parking at good prices. Head up to second floor and you'll find wider parking bays...
Good location to get in and out of Birmingham easily. Car park entrance and exit is a bit tight.
No cameras. Narrow spaces. Car got broken into as well. No light in lowest lift lobby.
Good location. A little expensive for 2 days. Also quite old and run down.
Cheap and central. But most spaces are so small to fit your car in.
Well maintained. Easy to access the Aston University and bull ring
Very cheap price for parking. Please atlases clean once a month.
Awful tiny spaces, not well sign posted and smells of pis.
Really bad carpark. Spaces well to small. And it stinks.
