A Culinary Oasis in JFK's Terminal 5: New York Sports Club Restaurant Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In the hustle and bustle of JFK's Terminal 5, I chanced upon the New York Sports Club Restaurant for a quick lunch, and what a delightful experience it was! Here's a detailed lowdown of my visit: 1. The Staff: Truly the heroes of the day! They were incredibly courteous and professional and went above and beyond when I hit a snag with the mobile ordering system. It might've been a tech glitch, but two waiters pitched in to ensure I could place my order. The patience and customer-first attitude displayed by them were commendable. 2. Ambiance: Clean tables, a neat setting, and plenty of HD TV monitors created a pleasing environment. You can tell they've put thought into the décor – it's warm, inviting, and makes the wait for your flight infinitely more enjoyable. 3. The Food: Ah, the star of my visit! I ordered the Baby Arugula Salad, and let me say - it was divine. The salad was made of a harmonious mix of strawberries, candied pecans, and crumbled goat cheese, coupled with a drizzle of olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a balsamic glaze. It's a flavor medley that dances on your tongue and is surprisingly filling, seeing me through my subsequent 3-hour flight. 4. Service: Swift and efficient. My food arrived promptly after ordering, and this quick service is a boon in the world of airports! 5. A Tiny Glitch: The mandatory mobile ordering system was the only slight hiccup in an otherwise delightful experience. The software seemed a tad convoluted, and I wasn't the only one facing issues. I'd suggest they either provide a more straightforward platform or have an alternative method for the less tech-savvy among us. In conclusion, if you find yourself in JFK's Terminal 5 craving a delightful meal and heartwarming service, the New York Sports Club Restaurant should be your pit stop. I highly recommend it!

An extensive beer on tap menu with prices beginning at $15 a glass. My first beer choice from the menu wasn't stocked. Instead, I enjoyed a Coney Island Pilsner, a very good choice. The staff was both friendly and knowledgeable about beers and ordering from the QR code. However, there isn't any other way to order or pay for food and drinks except through the QR code. Like me, most other customers had difficulty doing this. In addition, it is easier to order and pay if you register with NYSG/OTG, even if you don't want to. I particularly don't care for this as the only available option for ordering and payment. After tip, I paid $21 and change for one beer. As a leisure traveler, I can't justify the high price for one beer, even by NY prices. Between the price and the QR code, I will be skipping this venue on my next trip through JFK Term 5. But to reiterate, both the beer and the staff were very good.

I'll start with the positives. Quesadilla with chicken was bomb! Chunky and great flavor, I'd definitely grab this if I was heading through these gates again. Nachos were fine but they were missing the beans that were suppose to come with them. The chicken ceasar wrap was mostly lettuce and for some reason tasted like pickles (maybe a NY thing? Not sure) for sure won't get that again. Drinks were not very good. The bad: Waited about 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and find us a seat. Waited another 20 until I tracked down our server so that we could order food. Waited about another 15 for drinks, 25 for food. Couldn't find waiter through out the meal and had to fetch our own napkins and silver ware, then waters, then the check and it wasn't really even crowded at this point. I'd suggest ordering and paying right away unless you want to be stuck here. We were probably here an hour and a half. Morale of the story-order a beer and the chicken quesadilla.

This place is way too poorly ran to charge what they charge. You’re paying the same price as what you’d pay at a full service sit down restaurant yet you’re getting sub par service. You order from a QR code and then a server brings your food out. I ordered onion rings with my meal and when my meal came she said there were no onion rings and gave me fries instead. Cool since I already paid the up charge for them. Also the fries were disgusting and mushy. Also maybe tell me ahead of time in case I wanted to change my order. We were there for about an hour and couldn’t even get waters. They don’t bring them out to you and when I asked the server for water she said she’d bring it out and she never did. $50 for 2 meals (no drinks) that were below average, should’ve just went to one of the “regular” restaurants.

Had the pleasure of grabbing a quick bite to eat and some wine from this establishment. Ordered French fries and a glass of Red Wine using the QR code menu on the table. A server noticed that I was waiting at the table but he didnt received my order on their system and promptly went to get my items. The wine I initially received wasn’t to my liking so I asked for another. One of the employees here named, Tara, came through and brought me a different wine glass! Tara also waited for me to try the wine before she left ensuring I was satisfied. I appreciate the good customer service.

Firstly it's barcode only service for ordering just like most of the places in the airport. Frustrating as it can get, people stood idle waiting for the orders to arrive rather than just take the order. Obviously it takes time to do the qr code ordering. And when you do order you have to select what percentage of tip you want to give, from memory, 15, 20 or 25%. A service tip and they don't even take the order? It's a joke. Beer was forgotten and once I had chased it eventually arrived about 40 minutes from when I first arrived. Food on par with Weatherspoons. With taxes and tips a pint of Stella cost 19$. You have been warned.

1- you order from a QR code stuck to the bar that is so dirty you will stick if you touch it ( bar top not QR code) 2- you are asked for tip amount when you order and before you realize you are about to experience the worst service you can imagine To sum it up this place is a disgusting pig style. I asked several times for my space to be cleaned and was met with a bartender (Shannon) with a bad attitude who was cleaning everything with a wet dirty napkin (see photo) DO NOT Recommend...unless you are looking to waste money and get sick

Travelled to Lay my mum to rest. After a 7.5 hour flight with 4 hour layover I wanted to just relax and have some food. Was seated by the greeter then the waitress turned up yelled at me saying" I can't seat there, I have to seat elsewhere. She continued to be rude even when directing me to the new table she slammed the menu on the table and said "sit I'm British, so I just walked out and explained to the greeter " I enjoy good customer service..I just need to go elsewhere."When I stop at JFK again will definitely not be going here!

Staff are awesome, friendly with a smile and all. Top guys. But, this system of scanning QR codes and ordering on your phone creates confusion beyond comprehension. Every single person around me are having issues with orders, payments etc etc. it’s actually comedic at this point. Food and drinks are sent to wrong tables. Nice spot with good selection for an airport bar but it seems the corporate greed to capture consumer data unfortunately hinders a good bar experience. Bars are supposed to be about human-human interaction!

If I could give it one star, I would. We waited 40 min for an appetizer for our toddler, it was EMBARRASSING. So we order ourselves, but I have to ask for her food MULTIPLE times and walk to the bar multiple times just to get our food BUT they can charge a mandatory tip? That's hilarious... this is airport food.... in what world is it normal (even outside of the airport) to wait 40 min for your food??? no, it wasn't packed. No, it wasn't a high traffic time. No, the order wasn't complicated. Just horrible.

Might be ok for a quick burger and a beer. I will not be returning for breakfast. I only went here as it was right by my departure gate. The food was not too good and the restaurant seemed to be dirty (bad smell). Due to the lack of options in terminal 5, this restaurant appears to be busy. Steer away and go to dunkin or starbucks instead. Ull be much happier.

Waited almost 45 minutes for two plates of eggs. Horrible service - waitress argued with us about being late with food. The entire staff seems indifferent and don't care. For an airport restaurant, you'd like there would be a sense of urgency. There are a lot of places to eat inside Terminal 5 - I recommend the restaurants in the center of the terminal for fast and friendly service.

During my JFK layover we decided to dine at New York Sports Grill. My husband ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and I ordered a Chicken Parmesan Pita. To place your food order, you have to use a QR code that was on the table, you pay on your phone. The food was just average, not the experience I'd hoped for. I've had better meals elsewhere.

Laticia T is a hard worker and very friendly. Her customer service is on point, and she maintained her positive attitude throughout many different customer types. I never felt as if I out stayed my welcome. I was there for over 1.5 hours and she was attentive. Thank you Laticia T. for making sure my experience was fantastic.

We had the veggie burgers and fries. The veggie burger was moist and tasty, with the works. The fries were pretty good, real potatoes. The staff are kind and busy so just be patient and kind in return. My take away order was ready in 15 minutes. Sports TVs throughout the restaurant provide entertainment. Very expensive. $37 for two veggie burgers.

Inattentive staff, they make you order from a QR code and still ask for a 15-20% tip. No power outlets at bar or seats. Had to ask to get my food from the back. Food was 4/5.

The bartender, Kessamarie, had so much going on and was still super friendly and attentive. The kitchen was having issues and they ran out of glasses (this seems to always happen in airports for some reason) but they had a good amount of beers on tap. All in all a nice spot to catch a couple drinks at the bar while waiting for your flight

Took them 45 mins to bring out a takeout mobile order of chicken tenders. There were 3 and it cost $20. Almost missed my flight. I understand airport food sucks but I think you can safely get better value for your money anywhere else in the terminal.

Pretty busy, servers were still calm and efficient. Food was hot and tasty, more than decent for airport food. I had the Veggie Burger. Held together well, had a lot of veggies in it. There were more fries, but I ate a few before taking the picture.

Stuck at JFK for a delay (but who isnt). Came upon this place because it was here and near my gate. Food was typical pub food, so I expected pub food. Service sucked because they only had a few people waiting tables apparently. Would I go back, sure if I was at a jetblue gate, and had to eat. More

Food was good for an airport restaurant, very pleasant to have a place to sit for a bit other than in the crowded terminal. Like I said the food was pretty decent, the prices were reasonable, again it's an airport restaurant so expect it to be higher priced than a regular restaurant. More

I tried to order a drink and ask if they had my prefer beer on tap. The guy refused to answer my question then told me to order on the QR code. I did and after paying they told me they were out. They could've at least told me that before I used my card.

Let me start by saying this is hands down my favorite Bar to visit not just at an airport but in general. I travel abroad for business every other month. Usually this would be a 5 star place with some of the best staff I’ve been helped by.

The food was decent and the service was fast and that’s both good and bad. The bad is that servers felt rushed and I was never sure if they were annoyed by the regular requests or if I was reading too much into it.

Food is pretty good for airport food. However the service is quite slow...it took like 15 min to just get a glass of water on the table lol. We ended up ordering the baby arugula salad and quesadilla.
