I've been coming here for the better part of 10 years, and throughout the different owners, different staff, and different clientele, it's always been the best bar on 8th Ave between Port Authority and Columbus Circle. I've had some fantastic burgers, delectable wings, and outstanding sandwiches over the years, but I'm not sure any of them were ever eaten sober, so believe what you will. If you're coming from NJ or somewhere else out of state and going out with friends, this should be your first stop or meeting place.

Smith's Bar is my go-to spot whenever I'm in New York, and it never disappoints! They have a fantastic and extensive draft beer selection that caters to all tastes. The New York strip steak is a must-try; it's cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The service is outstanding, with friendly staff who gladly customize meals to meet your preferences. The cozy ambiance adds to the overall charm. I must add that with recent developments with Row Hotel across from here with immigrants, the outside ambiance has degraded unfortunately. I highly recommend Smith's Bar for its great beer, delicious steak, and top-notch service.

On a recent trip to NYC, we heard about Smiths Bar in Hell's Kitchen so we checked it out. So happy we did because it was fabulous, drinks and food was great Our bartender Valerie is a superstar. She covered half the bar and the service area without missing a beat, she is also a fantastic, energetic person. Worth the visit just to see her The food we had the chicken tenders and the Guiness Cheers dip with pretzel sticks - Mmmmmmmm so good! Smith's Bar is added to our must go list for our next NYC visit

A nice place off the Broadway theater district to grab a decent bite to eat before or after a show. Very friendly service and good food. The Rosemary Mushroom Burger was flavorful and meaty, only downside was the bun was a bit dry. A fresh and yummy bun would've made this a 5-star. Same with the hot dogs, good dogs with sauerkraut and mustard, but the buns were a bit stale too. Still a great find because it was not super busy and it had quick and friendly service.

Good sports bar with great atmosphere and great food... everything I tasted were delicious... skin potatoes with cheese were amazing and their chicken Cesar’s salad... they have huge portions with everything pretty much... also their chicken soup was fresh and tasty... the top pick though was the philly cheese steak... it was the best I ve ever tried in my life... well cooked and so tasty... I will return back soon there... great atmosphere with big tv screens and a very friendly service... everything came out warm and fast... I definitely recommend it even for some beers and drinks...

A pub/bar located very close to the Times Square, in New York City. We've been there on a Saturday's evening, and it was easy to get a good table. Menu is limited for food - we've had the Truffle Fries and the Chicken Tenders, and both were good enough. The place offers a good variety of beers, and service was good - although there seem to be few people than needed to take care of all the tables.

I went here for a bite to eat after catching a Broadway Show with my Mom. We were seated right away and our server came over to our table immediately. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. The portion size was great and my Mother enjoyed her dinner. I ordered a burger and fries. It appeared the burger was one of those frozen patties you buy for at home. It was tasty, but I prefer made to order burgers when I go out to eat. That's the reason I took away one start. I would go back to eat there when I visit NYC again.

We came here on my birthday waiting for the Phantom of the Opera to start and the food was amazing!!! Definitely recommend to anyone either waiting for a show to start or after a show ends. Large sports bar only a block from many major theaters. One room with booths and tables and one with a long bar and high tables. Something for everyone. We arrived about 12 30 on a Saturday and it was pleasantly uncrowded. We had hamburgers and hotdogs and fries. They were very good. They had a full menu. Service was friendly and food came quickly. Plenty of time to linger before our 2pm show. We will definitely come back again.

It was the perfect place to have dinner and relax before seeing our show---nice, big, quiet, well-kept dining room. Our food was DELICIOUS! The steak was perfectly done and the accompanying mushrooms and truffle fries so tasty. The burger also was great. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive; I can't remember her name but she could be a definite stand-in for Debi Mazar. It was so great we returned a couple weeks later before seeing another show. I went there many times as close to my workplace. Actually I like it as friendly service, good beer and reasonable price. Anyhow last visitted around top of Sep , I felt like I was being racist by the blond hair , small lady server who had been trying to unmannerly againt in every of my word with her unfriendly acting. Not even grerting when I had asked for seating. Also she had asked the credit card meanwhile I was not finish ordering the food. Never go there again as the reason.

My initial thought is that it was ok for the price and it does say "bar" but we went for food at around 7:30pm on a Saturday. The staff seemed fine. The food was...not great. The beets with the roasted beat salad reminded me of something from a salad bar and not roasted at all. The crab cake sandwich had too much filler and not enough crab. The lasagna also had some kind of filler that was almost like breadcrumbs. Why? The fish and chips had that rubbery frozen texture. The fries and onion rings were good though.

Place was busy for NYE. Went here with my Gf ended up talking with about 12 other people buying rounds and having a great time. Bartender was on point with how busy it was. My only gripe is that with all the people in the building it was extremely hot. A window needed to be cracked or vents turned on or something. Not sure about food TBH since we were there to party.

Excellent burgers for the price and location, if you like rosemary I highly recommend the rosemary burger with mushrooms, great taste. The fries will grow on you, and let them do so, you'll love them by the end. I will say though, if you drink alcohol, get a beer or a wine, the cocktails are pretty miss. Not bad enough to drag down the score because the food makes up for it, but if I went back, I'd give them the skip.

A good spot for a quick, pre-show bite or a quick drink. The staff inside were friendly, quick and attentive. I would however recommend some re-training and vetting of the door staff. That's the first impression people are going to have of the establishment. The first door person was incredibly rude for no foreseeable reason and I almost walked away. The second door person on my way out was friendly and held the door open as I exited.

Went here with MF because our colleague JM frequents this place and I had the chicken tenders with truffle fries, which is superbly delicious with the sauce, that's how good it is. Had a few great drinks. My fav is the Whisky Ginger on the rocks.

Really loved my watermelon mojito!! The truffle fries were good, but there was barely a hint of truffle at all. If you like rosemary you’ll like the rosemary aioli sauce they give for the fries. It has a super strong rosemary flavor. If nothing else, come here for the watermelon mojito.

I went to Smith's Bar for the first time last week on my birthday (7-27) with a friend and had a lovely experience. My waitress was so sweet and friendly, and the atmosphere was chill and very adult. The opposite side of the bar area, is a dine-in restaurant. The drinks were mixed expertly, I had the BlackBerry Bourbon Smash and the Godiva Chocolate Martini.

Before even entering I was judged and looked up and down as if I didn’t belong there! A short black guy wearing a mask who was security- made me feel soo low after an already suicidal day!! Like wow really dude as a black man. I’m a black woman too soo it’s no excuse . I had a bad Broadway rehearsal and simply wanted a glass of wine….

I would say this is an underrated place for sure. Whenever I’ve gone it’s been almost empty, so the first time I went I was a little wary - normally that’s a sign of a bad restaurant. But I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve ever had here, and while I think the drinks could be a bit stronger, I have come back multiple times for a quick bite. Definitely recommend!

Walk a lot to your hearts content. Watch the magic of the world famous Times Square and just a lane or two below ⬇️ come down to Smith’s Bar which has a great Bar facility. Ample of options. Lots of seats. I loved the vibes here.

Very convenient to Times Square. Busy place but not too noisy. Great selection of sandwiches, salads and entrees and a pretty good beer list, too. I enjoyed the chicken parm and would get it again. The service was above average, and the prices were reasonable for NYC.

One of the last old school Hells Kitchen bars left after the gentrification ok the area. Great selection of beers , decent bar food, friendly bar tenders and plenty of space. Worth a visit as there aren't too many places like Smith's left in NYC.

Just unfortunate they don't enforce dress code. We went in nice collered shirts as suggested and saw several with plain t-shirts and shorts n sandals? What happened to dressing up a bit??
