Almost 5 stars. I bought a Refurb Dyson V10 from this place back in 2019. No problems I bought a Refurb Dyson V8 from them last week and there was problems. The V8 i bought leaked at the motor to cyclone housing seal. I took it back and we had to open 3 more boxes only to find 2 more white units that leaked and a grey unit that was cracked. That is right out of the box. I fully understand that the dyson refurb center is responsible for their product, but to have so many faulty, and the guys at the store look at me funny trying to explain the whistling the machine was making while vacuuming carpet, was a bit perplexing, as well as the music in the store was too loud to even talk to the sales guys. Eventually i settled on the display unit they have and it seems good so far, maybe a little squeak here or there but miles better than the white ones that leaked constantly. In conclusion, i would like to see dyson do a better job of the ruferb units. The open box guys did a "good enough" job at taking care of me. It is yet to be discovered if i get any warranty on the display unit as when i registered it, it came up null for the serial number which is different than the original one on my receipt. I will be writing dyson about what i saw on their multiple refurb units, and my warranty. I will expect them to tighten up quality of refurbishment as this kind of product provided for the money they are charging is completely unacceptable. As a further note, the first unit i received also had dog hair in the still used center cone filter. It appeared as if they simply took a used dyson V7 origin cyclone head (white) and slammed it onto a V8 motor unit with a new bottom canister. But the filter was yellowed and old and covered in dog hair. GROOOSS. I also noticed another one of the white units had what looked like a used yellowed hepa filter on the end that was all scratched up. Cmon Dyson, put new filters in.

Older review: I’ve been here a few times an have had great experiences, specially from the owner/manger I assume, however the Irish perhaps, British gentleman who works at customer service is clueless to the inner working of majority of technology they sell,treats you like mere fool and becomes tongue tied when actually asked questions. Which is totally fine to majority of the population as most of the population doesn’t care about the inner workings of what the use to access the internet however no one should be looked down upon specially when that individual works and has owned a business in a similar field. This individual makes the place loss it’s “comfortable” feel and the intellectual content tech stores should hold . Any what I would not recommend this place not because of this individual but simply because the iPad screen that was replaced wasn’t seated or sealed properly the first time, the second time it had loads of dust under it and the 3rd time had to be sealed again while taking the dust out again. As a last resort I just didn’t bother going back because the seat was still wrongly done and now as I have come back to the country after a few months due to grad school and finally used the iPad.... the third party lcd screen simply breaks without even being used since the replacement months ago. I really hope they treat their other customers better then myself or at least replace defective things they have done for free without making the customer feel like they are wrong when you can clearly see the problems from step one. BE CAREFUL! DOUBLE CHECK THE WORK!

*Update* Company does stand behind their product/customer service. Being that i live in Edmonton, they went above and beyond by sending me a keyboard in the mail. Making it very convenient and the experience now a positive one. Will definately shop here again when i'm back in Calgary. They have great prices and service/warranty. Thanks you again Adel for dealing with my issues. *Old* Saw ad on Facebook market place and after a couple of back and fourth, i decide to pick up a tab s7 plus, since I was in town visiting my mother in law. Once there, communication then took awhile but eventually i was told it was at the Openbox on McLeod and that he was looking for the keyboard. Arrived at store and he didn't have one in a box, but was given the display model he had just taken off. I did get a higher model, but the back had some cosmetic flaws from the removal of the sticker. While driving back home, same night, i noticed 3-4 keys on the keyboard aren't working. Reached out to store manager, same night and he was saying he would help. My problem is that when I message to follow up, three days later, he is not replying. So customer service is very disappointing. Felt like once he got the sale that was the end of it. They do say warranty for 90 days but that is something I'll have to deal with when I'm back in Calgary, if I want to go through all the hoops. For now I'll have to leave it, making this a so so experience. I guess I just expected more from a company.

This store is quite the joke.. First couple times you go in, amazing service and fair value/prices. After that, they treat people like they’re stupid. Feed people misinformation, Lowball offers on like new devices, then lie about where/how much they’re paying for things they’re selling for dirt cheap, then make false claims about the product you have and it’s worth, comparing it to cheaper models they have. When trying to sell them a like new, fully functional device that’s worth thousands refurbished, they stated that they sell thousands of the exact same model for a couple hundred. Do your due diligence and ensure what your devices are worth before selling to anyone, but especially don’t sell to these people as they will give you no where near a fair price and attempt to make you think you’re in the wrong claiming your device isn’t worth what it is. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere to sell your products, also don’t support them by buying from them when they probably swindled some poor soul out of their devices for dirt cheap, to turn around and make an insane profit by reselling it for exponentially more than what they paid for it. Cheats, the lot of them.

The repair service and employees are pretty kind. I had a broken iphone X which had a damaged display with the lcd and cracked glass. The main speaker was also not working well too and got that repaired from them too. I dropped the phone to them for an hour and came back after an hour. The screen and everything were functioning well but the speakers was not working since they said they needed to order the part for it. So then I came back next week and dropped the phone to them. I got a call from them and said I can pick it up any time and I came in and got it and the speakers were working pretty good now. It was also pretty fair price for this repair experience. I would definitely recommend this place for repairs or buying anything here instead of the Apple Store, Mobile Klink, and the Ubreakifix repair shop since they are quietly overpriced and not worth the value. They handle customers technologies they bring for repairs pretty well and pretty fast service!

I came in initially looking for a phone to replace my s6 active as the lcd screen was broken. It was initially replaced at another shop cost 200$ and took over two weeks. They gave me wonderful options for phones but I wasn't excited about buying a new phone tbh. They took my phone in to their repair guy who literally had some kind of magic fingers because my phone was fixed within hours.... at an absurdly low cost and with a guarantee. Nobody in Calgary could or would fix it... The screen unfortunately went black again a few weeks later and they again fixed it, by some miracle, free of cost. They let me know kindly that it was on its last legs and to consider getting a new phone (no push at all that it be from their studio). I cannot begin to say how wonderful they were with me and not to mention how good they were with a phone that the rest of Calgary were quick to say could not be fixed as it was an american phone. Thank you!!!!!!

My daughter's iPhone needed its screen replaced after dropping it at school. She called them and said that they could replace it that day. We drove over there after dinner and they were about an hour and 15 minutes from closing and their main iPhone repair technician had left for the day. One of the two remaining employees said that he could do it. We were going to leave it for an hour and Christmas shop at Chinook, but we stopped to browse for a bit since we'd never been in OpenBox before. We were so impressed with their selection of reduced price electronics that we were still there when he finished about 20 minutes later. The replacement was only about $70 and it's worked great ever since (that was a month ago). Very polite and helpful staff. Will definitely return (hopefully for shopping only and not need repairs again :) )

Quick service and very helpful. Honest sales people too! It's nice to feel comfortable buying a used laptop, which can be a scary and unsure experience. It's nice to know they stand behind their products and services Edit to add: the one piece of constructive feedback I have is it would be helpful if the staff knew the full extent of how their financing works. I was told the money could be taken directly from my bank account as a loan payment. Turns out the money goes onto a credit card every month and then you have to pay the credit card off. I've never financed anything small like this so I didn't know this is how it worked and apparently neither did the associate working. No real problem, just an extra step I have to take to make sure I pay it every month, rather than it just being taken out easily

I can only say the service we received here was EXACTLY how customer service should be. Tyler took care of us soon as we walked in and it was a pleasure the entire time. Tyler should teach a class on customer service. I think a lot of people are always sceptical when buying new electronics. Mostly cause of pushy salespeople. Tyler was patient, explained things kindly and more importantly listened. He didn't try to up-sell anything, just listened and sold us exactly what we needed/ wanted. We bought a couple of things and actually gave us a little deal too which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. We will be going back here for sure. Tyler for King! FYI - this stuff isn't refurbished (what we thought), it's new products that have been returned.

Called them in the morning to reserve SONY XM3’s for myself and they told me they would hold it for me until i came in. About an hour before i went they called me to ask if i was still interested in buying those headphones as someone else was interested, but i didn’t pick up as i was occupied. Even though i didn’t pick up tyler (the employee who i dealt with) still did not sell it as he had it on hold for me. When I arrived he gave me all the information i needed to know about the warranty and replacement information. He also gave me advice on how to troubleshoot my airpods that had issues and was over all very helpful and friendly. I would definently recommend going to this location and the employees seem to be very friendly and helpful.

Open Box is the best place I ever come to purchase my devices or get them fixed. I purchased my phones, desktop, AirPods, home speaker, vacuum, and until now, my products has been working in excellent condition! Great deals that cost better than retail stores. Amazing, knowledgeable and excellent people who works here and knows their stuff. Whenever I did had to come in store for an issue of my products, I would get a solution after they would try to resolve the problem: which was either resolved completely, or suggest another idea. Honestly, I've always had good experiences with this store. They are selling and servicing refurbished equipment, which is what it is. They have always made good on repairs and adjustments, and I've never owned a bad product which I had purchased from this store. A bit of patience is very important when dealing with this type of operation. They will do everything reasonable for you, given the chance to do so. Getting hysterical with anything less than perfect, is much less likely to get the problem resolved in most cases. I have never been left to hang with a fixable problem by this company, because I was willing to work with them, allowing them to work with me, until the problem was resolved.

Had the most excellent experience buying my Apple AirPods from openbox through Adel Hasna. I was a little wary about buying things online (through Facebook or websites) because of an incident with a scammer I had just had over Kijiji. Adel was very good at giving me all the information and photos I needed to be able to feel comfortable purchasing. After a little bit of information, a couple pictures, and an invoice I was very comfortable and knew that everything was legit and that I wanted to purchase my AirPods. The AirPods arrived exactly when they were said to arrive and I am very happy with the product. I would totally buy from openbox again. Thank you Adel for your great costumer service!

Do yourself favor stay away. I bought six cellphones i last year and half for family and friends fixed broken screen on two or three of them. Last phone bought was A 50 for araund $ 400 broke screen took back to them to fix it couple of days later when i pick it up on back cover there was burn size of dime they said they accidentally burnt it and they were going replace back cover. Everything tima i try using it it would say no internet connection took back same day as the try fixing it two other times with out success. They admitted that they damage it but refuse to replace it. At the and they give me J 3 a $ 100 phone. After spending over $2000 in last year and half.

We have bought many things from Open Box on McLeod Trail. Our most recent purchase was a Dyson vacuum cleaner. We purchased the vacuum on a Tuesday. That Friday, I saw in the Calgary Herald that this model was now $60 cheaper. I called to see if we could get a price adjustment on this re-conditioned vacuum, and was told that the sale was run from Dyson and they would have to check with head office. About 15 minutes later, I was called back and told, yes we would have the price adjustment. We were so very pleased with this result, we used our refund to purchase a re-conditioned Dyson heating/cooling fan which was also on sale. We highly recommend this store.

I have not been to this place but I did refer someone to get repairs done here. They are relativity fast and pricing is very fair. I am exceptionally impressed that they do circuit board component repairs, and not just quote an entire board replacement like a majority of repair shops out there. As a person in the electronics and IT industry it is a good feeling when an outfit can repair electronics for slightly more than it would cost me to repair them. It would save me a lot of time and they offer warranty on the repairs. I will use this place in the future and will recommend to all.

Bought my two MacBook Pro’s at the Sunridge store and got the hard drives swapped out for SSD at reasonable cost three years ago. Had since boughten a refurbished charger for $35 there. Went most recently to Macleod store for charger and they wanted $65 for refurbished one. No thanks. Told sales person I can replace the wire leads myself for $15 and he says something about warranty. You kidding me warranty who cares and says fire hazard. It’s not rocket science solder leads back where they came out, what fire hazard. I’ll drive the extra distance to the Sunridge store.

We are thrilled with the service and pricing offered by Openbox Macleod! They have the best pricing on TV’s, Dyson, apple product, and pretty much anything that plugs in. We have purchased our electronics from them for several years now and thought it was appropriate to write a review. They recently were able to assist us with some technical automation we needed for our store. Very impressed with the level of service, competency, and straightforward approach. Their knowledge of products far surpasses a Best Buy or Visions experience, plus their pricing can’t be beat.

Customer services at it best. Every signal staff member is friendly, profasional and willing to help. The price is always right if not unbelievable. The product is top of the line of the technology. I bough 75 inch TV and took it home. Their was a very small issue with the unit which does not affect the TV at all. However when I called the store the staff responded in a very positive manner to my concern and exchange the TV in less than 72 hours. Thank you Adel and all the team members or your service whitch was above and beyond my expectation.

Changing my review, because Adele the manager contacted me personally and wanted to help me with my phone! I was upset at beginning because I felt they didn't help me with my phone, but now I realize they tried to do their best and they recommended suggestions to try first. When I went back, my phone was exchanged and rest of my warranty left over is honored. I appreciated the service, and definitely reccomend this store as a good choice for reasonably priced electronics and goods. Thanks for your support and handling my situation.

Edit: was happy my review was heard and open box has agreed to help with the situation. I really appreciate it and decided to change my star rating because of it Really really disappointed in the service. Will not be returning. It’s a complete money grab and they don’t care at all about customer satisfaction. Told me they would give me a great deal to fix a screen that broke only 6 months after they fixed my first one, took my phone, fixed it and then charged me pretty much the same amount as it would be without a discount.

They are nice and friendly, but couldn't fix cpu problem on my i7 that involves micro soldering. When I came to pick the phone up after couple of days (was quoted to be 2-3 hour job) phone seemed to be working but the problem came back again as soon as the phone warmed up. They do provide 90 days warranty, but I didn't bother coming back to them. The other thing that was bothering me is $30 diagnostics charge, but turns out these $30 stays as your store credit. Looks like they work hard to provide best service.

There are some confusing reviews here. I called yesterday to check for quote to fix my not powering Samsung S4. The person was super nice and looked honest. I went right away to give the phone to check it. My customer service experience on the phone made me decide to buy my new phone (if they cannot fix the old one or it is too expensive to fix) from this shop. I will update my review accordingly. Update June 16, 2016: cannot ask for more. Friendly treatment . Reasonable prices. I am happy with the service.

Not the stores biggest fan. In my experience with them, communication was an issue. That being said, it's a busy place, so take it for what its worth. ****Edit**** 4-5 days after I left my review, I received call from the store manager, needless to say I was I bit surprised. He was concerned with my issues and thanked me for my review. I have to say, that phone call impressed me. It speaks volumes about the manager and the brand. I'm changing my star rating because I felt I was heard.

Seriously THE BEST experience! For someone who depends on her laptops to run for work and also gets really discouraged when her tech isn't working as it should they were amazing! I purchased an iPhone 12 mini from this store. Got it home, set it up and the earpiece did not work. Oh no! Buying stuff is easy, but I wasn't sure what to expect from Open Box when it came to service. Next day I popped in and explained the problem, and after a quick hardware check they exchanged the phone for me. The second unit they gave me works perfectly and I am very happy with the savings and the service. I'll certainly check them out again.

I had a wonderful experience at the Macleod location. The customer service was top class, and they really helped me feel comfortable in choosing which tv was best for me. Their deals were so good I even went home with a dyson vacuum which has not disappointed! I went back a week later to exchange my tv for a larger one and they were extremely accommodating and kind. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for new electronics!

Bad luck with my dell laptop had me visiting repair shops all over Calgary. Things started going in the right direction when I got my laptop to Adel and his team. Every repair they did had a guarantee and a warranty. They know their trade. They will always give you options on what could be done. Amazing service and pricing, dropped off my laptops and phone to be serviced staff was so friendly and helpful they explained all the detaila and issues about my laptops to me and offered me many options as to whats the best for them. Amazing customer service! The guy i talked to on the phone was super nice and understanding! I have a brand new phone (LG G4) and i sat on it and cracked the screen. He quoted me for almost HALF the price of everywhere else including installation! I will of course re-write my review after my appointment and my phone is fixed. But so far im absolutely thrilled with their service!

I took my S8 here to get fixed. Was a very hard and uncommon issue to fix, after a few days went by open box figured it out after staying late and I got the call the next day with the good news of it being fixed. Would take my products to these guys again. They also have a great selection of televisions, laptops, Dyson, and cell phones all at great prices. Friendly staff!

Tyler was really knowledgeable and asked me about how I was going to use my AirPods before making his recommendations. He was really helpful and friendly. I bought something, needed to return it a week later ( apple tv) and they only give an in-store credit even if you have a receipt. It's a decent store if you want to save a couple bucks but I personally found Best Buy to be very close to the same price and some times even cheaper and of course you get Best Buys return policy. The sales staff was good and it was clean

If you want SECOND TO NONE service, product advice and GREAT prices just speak to Owner Adel or his key staff, Manager Tyler or Sam. I’ve been buying any and all my tech equipment and fully relied on their products and service for over 15 years. Anyone asking me about tech I simply tell them to check Adel and Openbox, Macleod. Everyone has been equally pleased!

I came here to get my old sony fixed and ended up buying a new phone instead. Adel was great and I felt I was in good hands. When I had a minor problem with my messenger not being able to download pictures they offered to fix it anytime no problem. When you spend a lot of money on technology it can be scary, but I would definitely buy my next phones here!

I bought an ipad form these guys, and a month later we smashed the screen. because we bought it there, the repair was significantly cheaper, and at the same time they did a quick fix on an old iphone that was cracked, also at a discounted rate. These guys know how to keep customers coming back, and i will continue coming here for all my electronics needs!

My visit at OpenBox was a breeze. Went in to swap out my old IPhone 11 and upgraded to the latest edition. I was treated very fairly with fantastic customer service amazing staff very polite, I was guided the right way by Ali made the process super easy and even helped me transfer over all my information into my new device. Highly recommend !

Great place to save money on electronics. No matter what you're looking for I recommend visiting either of the locations around calgary . Bought a 75" TV for almost half the cost anywhere else . Why because it's a open box. Not a better deal guaranteed. I shopped around for a good week and couldn't find a better deal on quality brands .

DO NOT BUY USED ELECTRONICS HERE!!!! I got a MacBook Air from here a few years ago and it been sent if for repair more than a dozen times. Every time they repair it something else is wrong with it, last time I brought it in they didn’t reinstall 7 out of the 9 screws in my laptop. 0 stars would NEVER buy anything from here…

I bought iphone 12 pro max and Pixel 6Pro. iphone came in brand new box and pixel came in plastic bag but no issues at all. Both iphone and pixel has 1 full year warranty on it. Very good price. Staff is very professional and helpful. I will keep make this shop a go to place for phones, TVs and small kitchen appliances.

I brought my phone in with cracked screen. They ordered me a new one, and then called me an hour later to let me know it wasn't cracked. It was just the screen protector that was cracked. While I felt stupid, I was also impressed with their honesty. They didn't charge a thing. Great service! They earned my trust.

Our family has purchased 2 Mac laptops from Open Box MacLeod with the extended warranty. We have been very happy with our purchases. We have received excellent follow up service and highly recommend them. The manager, Guy, has gone above and beyond in regards to customer service.

Walked in to the store with an aim to buy a TV for an affordable price, walked out doing just that. Adel kept me in the loop for the inventory list while Ali asked me all the right questions to help me select the right TV. Good work is always appreciated, would come back again.

These guys are absolutely amazing.. every single guy I spoke to in there was super helpful, very knowledgeable and ridiculously handsome. I came in to look around and ended up leaving with an amazing PC that was cost me a lot less then any of the big box stores out there.

Adel and his team are the best in customer service. They make phone repairs, computer repairs affordable. They also have some wicked deals on TVs and computers sales. I am satisfied each time I visit them for services or to buy my electronic toys.

Sameday phone repair at a very reasonable price, they even gave me a free screen cover just because. They will be my 1st choice for repairs or even new electronics. Finally excellent customer service. Do youself a favor and go visit the open box.

Purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Loved the computer but the software is an absolute nightmare. Asked to return it for a store credit . Everything went smoothly. They are fantastic and help and service are unbeatable. Won't buy anywhere else.

This is good retail outlet. I bought a used computer here a year ago and they offered an extended warranty at a reasonable price. Yesterday my computer was unusable so I took it in and they had it repaired in hours. Friendly, prompt service!

Great place for deals. However website stock is almost useless. Not one time has it been accurate for me. Website says store has no stock but they do or vise versa. Every time I've shopped here this has been the case even at other locations

I bought a Samsung S7+ and had it shipped to me. There was a little bit of an issue with shipment but it did arrive. Adel took very good care of me and I would highly recommend going to them or purchasing from them again. Thx again Adel.

Bought an open box Samsung A11 here it was as advertised but it was a genuine rip off. I could get the same thing on Amazon or Bestbuy for 150. All items are over priced do a simple online search before going there. People are nice.

I needed get a new laptop and the employee that helped me was Tyler T, he was very helpful and friendly, he made sure the laptop i got was all good to go. Tyler was also very helpful when I wanted to sell my old Laptop to the store.

Amazing service so far. I've been there twice in the last 6 months. I wish their return policy could be slightly modified though but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Sometimes be careful of apple products when you buy from them there's often a company management lock supposedly stolen goods that people might trade in to them
