Local bookstores like Orchard are always a great alternative to chain stores and online retailers. Sure, it may be cheaper to get your books online, but they can't compare in the personalised experience of going to a store and picking out a book to read. Best of all, you can get yourself cheap second-hand books and give them a second life. If I find myself having to pick up a book from Dymocks or Orchard or any of the other little bookstores scattered around town, my preference is always the local bookstores.

An absolute gem in the Adelaide Arcade. The owners clearly take pride in the presentation of the store and in handpicking books for their customers. I was delighted to find a pristine 1950s edition of Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea'. Truly a haven for book lovers! Thank you for a very enjoyable shopping experience.

Orchard is a truly great bookstore, a little gem tucked away in Adelaide Arcade. Their collection of beautiful editions of great books rotates frequently so there's always something new to catch my eye whenever I pop in. An absolute delight, I'd give it 6 stars if I could ✨
