I recently visited Petbarn in Newstead with my two mini Dachshunds, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff at Petbarn were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to see us. They went out of their way to make our visit smooth and enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, the staff members were down on the ground, showering my dogs with treats and pats. It was heartwarming to see their genuine care and attention towards my furry companions. One staff member even shared that he had three Dachshunds growing up, one of them named Thumpa. This personal connection made our day and showed their deep understanding of the breed. Not only were the staff members knowledgeable and engaging, but they also made sure our visit was hassle-free. Their willingness to interact with my dogs and provide a pleasant environment made the whole experience a delight. I highly recommend Petbarn in Newstead to any pet owner. The staff members' friendliness, expertise, and willingness to go the extra mile create a pet-friendly atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere. I will not use their services again. Our first time at any large store grooming and I told them so as I dropped off my dog. I was rushed, they did not explain anything, only was asked what length the coat should be and took the dog away quick. I told them do it all, ears, nails, everything as he was already walking away, not saying we will call or txt when its done, not asking anything specific, as a first timer I should be able to explain things to them about my dog and what i want to be done, and I should be explained all available services and extras and whats included and whats extra to begin with at their store... Im very disappointed, as they skipped on regular things like ear cleaning, because it was not ticked on the paper. Since I was never asked but rushed away for the next customer. Terrible service and job not done!

I have previously shopped at Petbarn (quite possibly the 'best' pet store on Earth) using the online service, however due to 'Uber' drivers, who are useless and can't or won't follow simple instructions; very recently I decided to shop at Petbarn in person. Being mobility impaired, I found it quite difficult and challenging to make my way around the store, as it was cluttered with items everywhere and at every turn. The staff seemed to be in their own world, there was no-one within the store aisle's so I made my way to the front counter, where a young woman reluctantly assisted me. I purchased the items I needed and the 3 stars above represent the value products and prices. The service could do with a lift, along with the access for all; able bodied and disabled alike...

I bought two toucan ‘chew toys’ and they were demolished by my Pomeranian puppy in less than three hours. I realise they don’t come with a lifetime guarantee but should last the week at very least. My issue now is with the non accomodating attitude of 2IC with a name tag of, Bee. Despite my returning with a receipt and said stuffed toys which legally should be exchanged given the less than 24 hour timeframe. She seemed delighted to flex with words such as, “no and can’t” with a twinkle of glee at in her eye. Never again!

I have been into this store twice in the last 2 weeks and both times the staff have come across unfriendly and miserable compared to the Toombul store. Today the sales staff member couldn't find the registered phone number or email address, (strange as it was found last week in the same store?) then tried to make out that we are not registered by asking if I want to sign up again. Attitude is everything when you can buy these items online from other providers for the same price or lower.

Pretty small store. I like that they stock quality pet food & bravecto. The toys are pretty overpriced for what they are. Lots of products not priced on their shelf. I find this annoying. If you join the loyalty program, products are a lot cheaper but you get bombarded with marketing emails. That’s Petbarn head office fault not the store though. Parking here competes with Bunnings. The car park is aways busy. No pets for sale here. No fish. No rescue cats. No puppy mill products.

Service it’s AMAZING, Staff also, and the company always care about our pets but unfortunately I’ve been 4-5 times tried to get a service with the groomer and ALWAYS she/he are not in the place. 1. Because it’s sick 2. I came at 4:00 one of these days. and because was quiet he/she left 30min early 3. Because it’s not at the place. Etc etc ect. Any ways I just gonna keep the good service. But I recommend that the grooming service could be better next time.

staff here went above and beyond for me when i brought my 9 week old kitten in to get the essentials. as a first time cat mum they made sure to give me what i needed as well as awesome discounts and a kitten welcome pack, with treats, discount codes and 40% off a vet visit. the lovely lad that did some personal shopping with me even brought everything out to my car as i was carrying my kitten. (so sorry i don’t remember his name but he was great!!)

The staff in the store are a 10/10, the groomer there is a butcher. Do not take your pet there, I beg you for the safety of your pet. And Petbarn please do not leave another generic “we are so sorry, please our 1300 number” because when I do all I get is a message saying you are experiencing long wait times. We love Rochelle so much as a groomer that we travel all the way from Upper Kedron now that she is at the new store. She has looked after our 50kg Alaskan Malamute for a very long time and always does an amazing job even though he is a tough client with all his sooking and howling. Best part is that she loves him just like he is her own fur baby. Thankyou so much Rochelle for all your hard work every time!!!

Great friendly staff who are always so helpful. Sadly they no longer have a grooming service and that was the main reason I would travel the extra distance to this store. The grooming team at Newstead were always a joy to interact with. I’ve been suggested the Windsor store groomers as a replacement but have found them unhelpful and unprofessional the three times I have visited.

Small store but lots inside it notheless! The staff are great and knowledgeable. The petbarn rewards program such as frequent feeder and $10 off regularly when you spend enough is great and makes us keep coming back! Parking can sometimes be a bother but there is a whole other level of parking below and you can simply walk through the bunnings entrance to get there.

I would highly recommend going to Petbarn Newstead. My dog and I had an amazing experience with the groomer Rochelle she pampered my dog and we both had an amazing experience she looks so beautiful after her groom and you can tell Rochelle loves animals and treats them so well. I would highly recommend going there to get your dog groomed by Rochelle!!!

The manager, Michael, and the other lovely gentleman in store yesterday were so helpful in informing me about my dog’s separation anxiety. It was clear that Michael really cares about animals and their needs first. Finally, I have the answers that I have been looking for and a place where I know who I can trust. Really recommend!

I have been here many times and the service is always excellent, greeted with a smile every time and helpful but not intrusive. The store itself is smaller than most petbarns but still has most things you would need. Overall, a wonderful experience every time me and my dog go. Thanks team!

Outstanding service and excellent selection and quantity of stock. Really helpful happy and interested staff who inspire a return without needing to issue that all important invoitation. Importantly they are happy to direct you to a more convenient and accessible store which is a bonus

Friendly staff but not much stock of anything except dog and cat food. After shopping here for several years, have officially given up trying to buy small dog beds, bird seed and other bird products, dog stairs etc etc. I’d recommend going to a larger store or another brand.

Staff are absolutely amazing. Really attentive and LOVE to talk about their pets and your pets. Probably one of the most friendliest retailer I’ve been to. Always great to see smiles on staff and be able to talk about your beloved pets to those who seem genuinely interested!

We went to puppy school at Pet Barn. Louise, the presenter, was absolutely amazing. I learnt so much through her funny and informative presentation. The staff were very pleasant and we got a free puppy bag full of goodies for our new puppy. Fully recommend this pet barn.

First time using Petbarn Newstead and Rochelle did a great job. She asked lots of questions about my dog and what he needed, and was very caring towards him. The new store set up is amazing. My dog now looks ans smells fantastic. Very happy and will definitely be back.

Popped in to grab some things for my new kitten and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. They even gave me a kitten goodie bag, amazing! I'll definitely be coming back here for all my pet needs. Parking and the entrance is from inside the bunnings car park.

Mislabelled prices on products, $10 on the shelf, 2 for $30 at the counter, apparently customers go moving whole lines of products around to short change this store. 1 staff member lovely, the other not so much. Will not shop here again.

Very convenient just underneath the Bunnings, located at the corner of the car park. It’s very easy to park close to there was an ample amount of parking. They regularly have discounts on food, worth signing up to the membership

I have been buying my pet food and washing my dog here for about 2 years but lately the dog wash is filthy dirty. Animal hair is piled up under the dog wash. I spoke to a staff member about it and she politely apologised .

Petbarn Newstead has got everything your pet should need or ever want. Prices are competitive and are on par with anywhere else, but most importantly the staff are very friendly and go that extra mile to help you out.

Parking is the same for Bunnings... wasted too much time figuring this out... no signs. No hypoallergenic food available as they are not a veterinary but have other alternatives offered with good customer service.

This is my favourite pet shop in Newstead. They have everything you could possibly need. Staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, caring and very knowledgeable. Always a pleasure to stop in with my little pooch

Some of the most helpful staff I have seen in a shop ever. We had a nightmare organising the crate my dog was going to fly in and they went above and beyond to help us.

Have rang the grooming section twice and told both times they will call me back. I know they are busy but no excuse on the poor customer service. Never heard back.

It's a handy location but the shared carpark with Bunnings makes it a bit stressful if you bring along the pooch. Can get quite busy.
