I recently(yesterday 10/11/2022) bought a costume from here for my cat, and I had come back in today to look at some other items for myself and friends. I was talking to an employee, Greyson(apologies if it's spelled wrong) about the costume and how my cats reacted and such as well as some other feline related topics. I believe the manager, a woman with black hair who looks to be Hispanic, began to yell at me as they're still doing truck(they were yesterday when I was still debating on if I should get the costume or not and talking to a different employee, Trisha(?)) and that I was distracting the employees. Which is ironic as I saw two other employees just standing around talking by the register not really busy with anything it seemed. If she had just asked me to not distract the employees(despite talking to them about products they sell) I wouldn't be even posting about this. But yelling at me was absolutely unnecessary. She always seems to be in a bad mood when I've come in and happen to see her, and doesn't ever come across as friendly or approachable. This heated of a reaction over a misunderstanding. I walked out apologizing without confronting her as she seemed not willing to listen to me at this point and I don't want to talk to someone who is willing to yell without stopping to think.

I often visit this store because it’s close to where I l live, they’re usually understaffed so I don’t see any of the staff until I’m ready to check out. Today, I stopped by and I went to the cashier and had a question about a pickup order that I wanted to order online to pick up tomorrow. The employee seemed new and while I was trying to clarify my question, she asked someone to help me and left while I was pulling out my phone. The person who came to help was the rudest and most unpleasant person to talk to. He didn’t even ask what I need help with and was very condescending. He was very dismissive and seemed like a person who would only treat “certain people” with respect. I didn’t even ask him a question, I felt so uncomfortable so I thanked him and left the store immediately. I don’t know his name but from what I remember he’s tall and has a relatively long hair. He was at the registrar when I talked to him. I don’t know if he’s a manager but he seems like he worked there longer than the other employees. I now understand why this location is always understaffed and new employees keep quitting. I couldn’t handle dealing with this person for a couple mins, I can’t imagine working with him. I’ll never return to this place again. Do better

I have been living in Westlake Hills for six years now. And I have to say Petco is absolute garbage. I even have a gift card that I can’t seem to spend that’s how bad it is. Every time I go here I think it’s gonna be better and it’s not. The grooming staff is nice and the stocking guy. However everyone else seems to either hate their job or they need to go work at a puppy mill where they slaughter animals. I’ve never heard of a company that has online prices on their own site that are half the price. I’ve also never heard of a Customer rewards account that won’t let you return items. I can’t wait until Petco is the next circuit city. I even had a bag of dog food that was making my dog throw up and they wouldn’t take it back because it was partially gone! Lol.. If I was a bum I would rather sleep on the streets then if Petco offered beds. Best bit of Advice I can give you is if you actually care about your dog or Pats simply walk across the street turn left when you see Randall’s and there’s a Feedstore that actually gives a damn

Horrible experience with a guy in the Fish department. Traveled to my closest PetCo on Saturday, July 27th around 12pm, which is over 10 miles from my home. My fiancé and 2 daughters, ages 7 and 11, were with me. The kids were complaining about the smell of the store because there was a very strong/unpleasant odor from the moment you walked in the front door. One of the fish had a deformity and was in the shape of an L. The kids were poking fun at this fish, like kids do. My fiancé asked the attendant if we could have 2 different species of fish in the same tank and he was extremely rude. He said he was eavesdropping on our conversations and that HE WOULD NOT BE SELLING ANY FISH TO US. He was very rude and very unprofessional. I will never shop at PETCO again! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON PETCO FISH.

We patiently waited for someone to assist us in buying some mice for 20 minutes. We , my 3 lottle kids & I, watched as a man helped a lady with a guinea pig, afterward I thought for sure he was coming to help us or he was sending someone because I made eye contact with him and the woman he was helping even asked what we were getting and I said, "We're waiting on mice", in front of him. No one came back to help us for another 5 minutes so, my 3 yr old in my arms, all of us in face masks, go to the front of the store and 3 employees are sitting there doing NOTHING! No one asks us if we need any help. There were literally no other customers in the store! We felt completely invisible. The strange thing is businesses need money but no one is helping the actual customers who come in and shop!

I came in to find quality dog food at reasonable prices, but left more informed than I ever expected. While I was browsing their huge selection an employee named Krystle asked if she could help me find what I was looking for. She asked about my dogs, and if they had any dietary restrictions. I have to say that I've never met a more informed dog lover. Her kind energy, willingness to help and passion for animals was truly inspirational! She is a diamond in the rough. I'm definitely coming back to this location, and I hope that she is working!

Petco PetSmart our competitors. Each has there own products that they sponsor. Both have a wide variety of brands and both have moderate pricing. In either one there are sufficient employees to help you find something if you're looking for a specific item and since they each carry many mutual products, lf one should be out the other will surely not be! They are usually not crowded and most have ample parking at any time. Try them on short notice and just see if they meet your needs.

Just got my Cavalier King Charles groomed here. The lady didn't listen to a thing I asked for. I wanted to keep his hair long and keep the hair on his feel long, just cleaned up. She shaved him down all over to 1/2 inch! I'm so upset. And they charged $48 for bath and hair cut then added a miscellaneous charge of $7 for a cut?? I know his hair will grow back but they didn't listen and were nonchalant and unapologetic about it.

Grooming: Mishandles dogs. Pulled through a collar on my dogs neck to take him in. And she dragged him, because he didn’t want to go. Look down, his eyes are turning red. I checked the collar on his neck and it was so tight, it was choking him. I quickly took it off and left. Customer service: they don’t have that here. I will not be back.

We found a flea on our dog! First place I thought of going was to our nearest Pet store! I know that at this location I can find a knowledgeable associate to help me figure out what I need and how to get this taken care of asap!!! Sure enough, I was greeted by a very nice associate and she helped me get the right product for my dog!

We weren’t going to go with a large chain store for puppy training originally, however after meeting Mike we were sold. Mike is so great with dogs and puppies, you can see how much he loves his job. He focuses on positive dog training and has many years of experience. We love working with Mike to train our puppy. Highly recommend!

My friend and I had the best pet store experience ever today, thanks to Maria! She took the time to explain all about pet care for the different animals we were looking at and she was personable, friendly and super thorough. She was very knowledgeable and we really appreciated her amazing customer service. Thank you Maria!

We buy a parakeet 2 month ago and realize we can’t take care of him and wanted to bring him back so he won’t die. they didn’t accept him back, we got him from the same petco store but manager was rude and say she don’t have space and tell us we need to look for a different petco store not nice!! bad service

They gave me the wrong price on the freshwater shrimp that I wanted,and also raised their price on anubias to 12.99. At that price, I can buy online from aquarium coop and get much better quality! I see very little reason to go back, although points in their favor they were friendly and personable.

The only pet store I could find in Austin who currently had adult female rats! I was impressed with the service, the fact that the rats seemed healthy and well-cared for, and that the rats were relatively pricey, to make sure they were being sold as pets and not as food. Definitely recommend!

We've been attending Petco's Positive Dog Training with Alyssa, and it's been a fantastic experience. Her kindness and patience have made setting our little guy up for success a great experience, and I would recommend the services to anyone with a new furry friend.

Online says they provide vaccines via Vetco. Made an appointment online, got here to be told the person who does them left, and that they don’t really work full time (?) Petco should update their site to reflect their shortage/unavailability of vaccinations.

I am only leaving this wonderful review because of the very kind and helpful employee Gabriel at this location. He went above and beyond to help me during my shopping here and his conversation was so pleasant. Such a great employee, he deserves some praise

A manager was berating and threatening to write up an employee in the middle of the check-out lane, in front of multiple customers. Not only is this unprofessional behavior uncomfortable for customers, it affects employee morale and tarnishes the brand.

Best petco I have been to. Friendly staff, healthy animals. Petsmart is still better in my opinion but this petco in particular seems a lot better than most. I drove from Burnet just to shop at this one. I bought a fancy female rat and she is gorgeous!

I booked a grooming appointment for 8 AM, which is the earliest in the day appointments are made. The store itself does not open until 9 AM, so the groomers are supposed to let you in. However, whoever had the keys was late, so my dog and I

Great trainer Mike and friendly staff I'm getting to know. I have Vital care for my puppy and we are in there regularly for training, nails trimmed and teeth brushing. They are patient with us and very friendly. Great service!

Patricia at Petco was beyond helpful! I've always gone to PetSmart but I was very pleasantly surprised my first time at Petco. Patricia helped me find everything I needed and made shopping at Petco a really great experience!

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE for grooming, I have literally called 4 different days at different times, left a voice mail and they won't call me back. I mean I can't book a grooming appointment, like how crazy is this!

Our dog always looks great after a visit to the Petco in west Austin. She is 11 years old, a poodle mix, and she has been groomed all these years at Petco in west Austin.

Small and there really wasn't a lot of staff on hand to assist, but I had a good experience overall. The employees went out of their way to be helpful!

Great place. Friendly staff was able to assist joining their program and super nice to my pup. Clean facilities and everything you need for your pet.
