I just have had my renewal yesterday 19th of oct,2022 and I suppose to have my appoibtment at 10:30 but I just try to be early to make sure I will not get late, then i went before 9 but the lifter can not open, they said it will only open at 9am so ,i went to the ground floor abd have my breakfast where the ground restaurant is and it is cheap and supperb then back to the 10th flr and finally it was opened ,i arrived there at 9:10 am and ,sir mark, the receptionist , had asked me of my appointment no.and appoinment forms filled copy, grant visa and my recent vevo ,my original passport copy and a xerox copy of the 1st,2nd and last page, for renewal then my registered envelope and had let me signed with a great smile then give me back my papers to give to no. 7 where they will check it all if all passes and no errors of all I have filled up in my forms then brought me to the the photograpy room to take a photo then he had made me print, with my thumbs and index and signed if all correct and the cancellation of my old passport then he put the date of my date of when i will receive which is on the 8th of Dec . And saying i can receive earlier it depends from the postal,in 3 min finished and then went to stall 2 to pay AUD108 cash and much better if exactly 108 so there would be no delay (,as they wont change but it is upto you to have it change outside,do have it all done before going there .)thanks to maam Arlene then brought back the papers to sir buddy at stall 7 and had let me take a photo of the tracking no. Of the envelope to be posted by them ,and finished and had a picturing with sir Mark and maam Arlene as she render her service to take a picture of me and with them coz they were not as buzy that time and yah all good, and before i left i was able to speak to the client also from Perth ,everyone there were friendly and i saw the other staff doing the notarizing so no worries when you go there ,it is really huge and clean and for 10 min I am done so if your documents are all good and no problems then it will be so quick and depending on how many people were book in that time you were there.,I love this place not asking even a lot of papers to pass for renewal of passport. More powers to the phil gen .consulate ,mabuhay po kayo .

They didn't deserve to receive even 1 star. Had requested for affidavit notarisation and received the documents after a week. The Names on the sealed documents were entered incorrectly. Called the notarisation department immediately however, it was dropped twice. Got an answer from the lady after the third call. She told me both officers are unavailable at the time and advised me to send an email and also try to send a message on FB messenger and I did. I didn't get a reply from FB messenger even though it's already been seen/read. Got a reply through email requesting me to personally return the documents in their office for them to be able fix their mistake. I replied back asking if I can just return the docs via postage, unfortunately didn't receive any reply. I had to call them again the following day and my call has been dropped three times. The guy from reception answered after the fourth call. He also advised me to personally return the docs but queried him if I could return the docs via postage, quickly put me on hold to confirm the officer if it's allowed. After a few minutes he confirmed that I am able to return the docs via postage as long as I include another return envelope (paid by me) for them to send back to me. He did apologise for the officers explaining that lately they have been busy. I ended up returning to their office personally, and waited for 3 hours to get my documents fixed. To think that the error was their fault but fixing it will cause me inconvenience. I do not live near CBD to come back straight away. I have filed for annual leave on my first appointment and have also paid for the documents and the express envelope and this is the kind of service that I will receive. I do not wish for anyone to experience this. Hoping they improve their service more. Be more organised upon fixing their mistakes. Imagine if you're living in a regional area and they have advised you to come back to their office just for them to be able to fix their errors.

Review update: so i gave the worst review (below) during 2020. I visited this office again recently and I am amazed on how it has changed. There is already an online appointment option, forms are downloadable online, process and requirements were clearly outlined on the email confirmation. The office has a now a reception with a lovely and amazing gentleman named Mark. The officers on the windows were nice. Only downside tho was the cash-only side of it but this doesnt bother me at all. Service has greatly improved from online appointment until the delivery of my paperworks. Amazing overhaul Philippine Consulate. ***** THIS IS THE WORST CONSULATE IN AUSTRALIA. NO REPLY TO EMAILS FOR MORE THAN A MONTH, NO ONE PICKING UP THE PHONE. USELESS WEBSITE! UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASY! MAKE FORMS DOWNLOADABLE OR EVERYTHING SHOULD BE DONE ONLINE NOW THESE DAYS! I DONT KNOW WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE DOING IN THIS OFFICE. IT STILL STENCH THIRD WORLD COUNTRY EVEN HERE IN AUSTRALIA! WORKING FROM HOME AND GETTING PAID FOR NOTHING! NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ONLINE REGARDING PROCESSES. THIS MELBOURNE CONSUL IS OUT OF REACH! I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY THEY BOTHER PUTTING THIS INCOMPETENT OFFICE HERE! WE HAVE TO RELY ON FORUMS TO FIND INFORMATION BECAUSE PEOPLE IN MELBOURNE CONSULATE CANT DO ITS MENIAL JOB! I EVEN HAVE TO CONTACT BRISBANE CONSULATE FOR MY QUESTIONS, THEY REPLIED WITHIN 24 HOURS!!!! SHAME ON YOU PHILIPPINE MELBOURNE CONSULATE

I applied for a visitor's visa online. Kept on calling them asking for progress but no one ever picks up the phone. Had to visit embassy 1 month later myself. The lady there looked half asleep and couldn't seem to be bothered. When asked, she indicated she had seen my application but just chose to ignore it. Without even asking for any supporting documents, she just casually said, ok I will accept your application. I was happy this is approved on the spot but it just seems dodgy. I had to wait for more than a month, nobody ever got back to me despite having all the contact details, only to find I had to go in person. On the day of collection, I found the visa does not include the duration of my travel! Instead it starts on the day of application. When asked, the person in charge seemed apologetic and admitted it's their fault for not asking my travel date in the first place. I was told unfortunately he couldn't do anything about it and said that I will need to apply for the visa again, which means a payment of another nearly $50, can't remember the exact amount. I have been through visa applications for many countries and this is the worst experience and service I have ever had.

I was amazed how things have changed in my embassy. The new office is so spacious and the staff are very helpful and service-oriented. I forgot to have my passport photocopied but the front desk bloke took my passport, stood up and went to a room and did a copy of my passport rather than me going out of the building and find a photocopier. The processing of my passport renewal was very speedy. It took me only 15 minutes from the time i entered the building and used the lift till I exited the building. I have lived in Melbourne for 12 years and i visited the previous embassy office a couple times and even had to go to Canberra embassy office one time but this recent one is no match to what i have experienced today. The online appointment booking really has made the difference in the speedy or processing. The embassy people are so efficient and values your time. Keep up the good work embassy people! I am proud to be a Filipino.

They make things to hard basket. The SPA NEEDS CHANGES WHY NEED TO HAVE FACE TO FACE WITNESS. Just to a sign a document. Don’t they realise that people have a life and need to make a living. Not everyone can missed work just to witness a document. not everyone have some sort of friends that will go out their way to sign a document. Most documents should be sign without getting the witness to front up I believe it’s better just to sign the document and provide a valid I.D of the witness Such a hassle. I can’t imagine how hard it is for other people who doesn’t have much friends or acquaintances tto bring along to sign a document. I hope they can make it a lot more easier for everyone. I understand there’s rules to be followed but some changes need to be done.

If I could give 0 star i would. I don't do reviews but this one deserved one from me. Receptionist is very rude and so is the cashier. They act like we should already know what we are supposed to be doing once we get there. You people should leave your toxic attitude back in the Philippines. The facility should have at least a printer in that way you don't tell people to run around if they forget to print things. The website also needs refreshing every now and then, coz' they tell you what to bring and it wasn't even necessary when you get there and asked for that one thing that wasn't printed. Being humble and accommodating doesn't cost much of your time in that way the people that goes there to do their business are at ease.

  • Megan Garcia

The staff who assisted me are not friendly at all, They are very rude & insensitive! they will not assist you properly, no wonder there’s a lot of complain & bad ratings to them, I experienced it first hand. I know that they are under staff but kindly be nice to us & not be rude. They are not happy to assist you, they look disappointed & the other staff kept on invading my personal space by asking akward questions very personal questions, i know she’s trying to have a conversation but this is Australia you should mind your own business, leave the Filipino attitude of being chismosa/gossip monger in the Philippines! Very Unprofessional & Incompetent!!!!! They should replace their staff! Please act & dress professional !!!

  • Matthew Tan

Staff in the consulate are nice and respectful, but if I had the option to put zero stars I would due to the incompetency and inefficiency of the processes in place for getting your documents. The fact that you need to pay $45 for your fingerprints to get taken and you need to manually send your NBI fingerprints to Manila and get someone to do it for you and pay again is so inconsiderate, outdated and a total waste of time especially now that Covid is at it’s peak in the Philippines. I cannot understand why there is no capability to do it here in Australia without all the manual sending of documents. Maybe invest more in technology and efficiency with all the fees that you make us pay.

  • john maloko

the guy on window 7 talks like he owns the consulate. very rude way of talking and bossy. just a typical philippine government employee who acts like they own the country just because they think we need some documents from them. and on top of that. i over heard a female employee (i dont remember which window she is, maybe window 6 or 5) talking to a guy and she yelled to the old guy very rudely "we dont adjust on your schedule. you adjust your schedule for us" like yeah of course we're the one who need to adjust. but you dont have to yell on the poor guy. like you're doing us all a favor. but the fact is. its your job! you're getting payed for that to help us! very shameful !

  • Efren Madrid

Couldn't agree or disagree for all these previous comments as I have my own share of experience of who we are. People are good, actually amazing. Geographically, Melbourne office is setup quite right now in Collins Street than before from the last office location in Queens Road. Problem is it's nearly a year the office has been moved but for some reason Google still directing the people to the old address. What’s the point of having an office in Canberra whereas Melbourne have more people who needs them. We know we can make a difference and with our own little way we can help our (Consulate) office to improve. Together we'll move forward

I book an appointment at 9am. When it search on google a week after, they are open. When I got there on the day of my appointment, the Embassy is close, I also check it on google and said it was close. I even called there number but the automatic answering machine said that it is close. I wasted my time, and the other Filipinos who booked their appointment on that day. I took a half day on this appointment, while others took a day off. It is very frustrating. They did not call, message or email that they will be close on that day, monday 03/10/22, and still they even accept appointments on that date. We are very disappointed.

I just want to commend the two young female staff who were assisting all the applicants at the consulate today, (22 September 2021) for their excellent service. Kay ate sa reception desk at kay ate na nagpa process ng voting registration. Super accommodating, super bait at super polite. I have been to PCG Sydney back in 2018, unfortunately, the staff weren’t as friendly as those in PCG Melbourne. Well done PCG Melbourne sa pag recruit nyo ng staff at sa dalwang female staff I mentioned, super well done. Keep up the good work. Hopefully, ma promote kayo one day

  • MOD ASFOUR

The consul & his team work been helpful excellent service during COVID19 pandemic; Moreover the consul ask everyone if they need help or need hand if they are happy with the service if they finish the paper work which apply for it he is mastermind Consul helpful, however Mr Anthony he is shine bright like a diamond, team work been helpful excellent service once you enter the office till you leave the best and amazing respect you will find over there. The Consul himself helpful I really appreciated SPECIAL when It's come from the leader. Kind regards. MOD ASFOUR.

  • Liam Radford

One star for the staff member who handled my partners overseas voting registration. Came out as passive aggressive while she was polite to her. Apparently wasn’t too happy that she didn’t have a photocopy of her passport. How hard was it to get off your chair and photocopy one passport? The whole point of your office was to handle the processing of our papers and that service is one of them. The other staff members were kind and professional while she acted like it wasn't her job to help or even be polite. Very unpleasant.

After getting the SPA Certified by the Philippine Consulate in Melbourne Australia, sent to my designated person in Manila, was delivered in person to Fortunelife Inc. Makati. Now Fortunelife legal department requires that Specific Certification to be Authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs Philippines. WHY to many procedures? It's really hard to release Money from Insurance company. This procedure should be questioned by the Philippine Consulate International. Thank you

  • Jarrell Jet

Others staff and services are great except the man working in window 2 13/07/23 11:00am. Argumentative with unpleasant way of talking to the clients, raising his voice to the clients if forms are incompletely filled up especially to those two elderly before us. He is representing the government of the Philippines here in Melbourne so he needs to act and talk appropriately and deal clients respectfully. This behaviour of employees representing our country must be corrected.

  • PELE & ROWE

Really nice people working in the consulate. Just be mindful, they are volunteers and the office is quite small so be patient and understanding. Finding the place is quite confusing as there are not enough signs and google map is not quite accurate to lead you where they are. Wilson Parking available across the road. The building marked as 11 Queens Road. In the ground level you'll see the directory. Phil Consulate is on level 5 on the left when exiting from the lift.

  • Linds smith

The staff here are very unprofessional, rude & incompetent no wonder there's a lot of negative feedbacks & bad reviews here. i've experienced it first hand. Kris & the other lady staff who's in charge of encoding & taking pictures are very unprofessional! I know they are under staff i understand that however staff here should also be kind enough to assist clients & not be rude.I hope they consider training the staff in customer service! or better yet change them.

  • Christian Lojo

Staff are friendly and helpful. Awesome building. But listing below areas that can be further improve for smoother transaction. 1)Update address or floor details, as in site its stated as Level 3 when its actually Level 10. 2)Numbering system(even if its manual)so people are assisted on 1st come,1st serve basis. 3)Prioritization of Elderly and pregnant women or separate line for them. 4) Kindly indicate in your info how many copies of documents is needed.

  • Imran Emmanuel Mirza

Absolutely appalling professional service the team has at this place. No proper order either. Apparently the applicants get so intimidated but cannot say it as the tendency at this place is to show passive aggression, not to mention the most poor quality of work that gets don. Losing the original documents is the name of the game. A simple process is like asking them to over the challenge of climbing the Mount Everest. Shocking and dismaying.

  • Nicole Caranto

Staffs are kind but man I have been calling since 9am, it's already 1140a, tried all the options from 1 - 7 just to get through, no one ever answers the phone just for once. Last time we were there, I think they were understaffed but I reckon since they need to deal with a lot of inquiries especially there's heaps of Filipinos here in Melbourne, they should have someone to answer the phone. The guy at the reception was very accommodating tho.

  • vanessa duncil

Phone service sucks. The person who answers the phone has zero phone courtesy, no name intro, just the impatient, what's your query? Zero compassion, zero empathy, I was polite and all, but my query was answered in a very CONDESCENDING manner. Shocking - needs phone etiquette 101. If you don't like your job po, marami pong willing pumalit sainyo. *Mind you, it's not only me, read the other reviews - maldita daw yung taga sagot ng phone.

  • Amalie Mendonez

I called to ask whether I was eligible for dual citizenship and the lady that I got on the phone was less than helpful and seemed like all she wanted to do is get off the phone, there was an instance where I had to say "No I'm not finished asking questions". I was really looking forward to potentially getting dual citizenship as it's a big decision to make and she made the whole experience more heart breaking that it needed to be.

  • Crissy NOT CRAZY

Thank you Philippine Consultant for an excellent service! You deserve a 10 Stars.. I emailed to book a NBI for my unte and you guys replied so quick and scheduled an appointment.. My unte visited your office today and she mentioned how great is the newest facility. All the staffs were excellent.. We are so happy that we don’t have to dive to Canberra or Sydney to renew the Passport. The system has improved significantly. Cheers!

  • Extra Terrestrial

Once you start speaking to someone (after a long wait), they will speak to you in a condescending manner whilst demanding payment in cash (we all know why) right away. Each admin/register will say different and often contradicting processes. What can I say? It reminds me of living in the PH, not organised, under the table payments (thats why they have ALWAYS required cash payments), and incompetent staff.

  • Keizie Lyn Aplacador

Went here at 10am for NBI clearance, the lady assisting us was snobby and in a hurry to finish. The same attitude they throw and flaunt to people when working in a govt institution. No hi hello. Doing the fingerprints was terribly messy, no wipes or alcohol wipes to use after. Hopefully they can read this so at least they can improve their service for us Filipinos.

  • Sunshine L

Requested for authentication of my drivers license and sent an email 3 weeks ago with no response, called the office twice, got passed to another call and been hung up on. Wish there was a response to the email at least, it's just been burried for 3 weeks now...also calls to the phone number on the website just keeps ringing. It's almost like no one's there.

  • Jerald Bravo

The staff here were all nice and accommodating especially Ms. Kris who attended to us. For everyone complaining about the delays in email responses and everything else, feel free to go interstate. It will really take time but they are trying their best to accommodate everyone. They are even working at home just to respond to emails. People, bear with them.

  • Samhy Grace

It's a very good experience today surprisingly I was expecting something was gonna go wrong but I was so surprised how smooth it went for me. Arrived there 11 and my appointment is not till 1 pm but they let me in and process everything so quickly. And everyone is so friendly. Thumbs up for consulate in Melbourne

  • Corah Quitazol

Great Experience for our Dual Citizenship Application. It saves us time travelling to Sydney or Canberra - cost efficient din. Staffs were very helpful and very polite. The process was so quick as long as you have the complete requirements as mentioned on their website. Keep up the good work mga kababayans.

  • Daniella Corpuz

The place was really clean, the staff were really nice especially the guy on the reception. He is very polite and I saw his effort on how he tried to organize us despite the busy que. Just wishing for a bit faster service as we had to wait for around an hour past our booking time but yeah all good! ❤

  • Pink Magnolia

Read their website re dual citizenship. Printed forms and mailed them on Feb 16 with certified documents and fees. Received email Feb 27 re confirmation of Oath-Taking. Quick processing, awesome. This is accomplished without the need for a phone call and enquiries. So far so good.

  • chipsNrice

Shocking. Worst consulate in the world. Ring there number and no one picks up. Drove all the way to the office only to be told no one answers the phone there. Poor excuse. I know wonder why filipinos want to change citizenship. I wouldn't want to be filipino either. Very shocking

  • Flor M. Juera

Great service! Staff were accommodating! I managed to get my notarised SPA in under 30 minutes (including the waiting time & I was 3rd on the queue). For now, please bring cash, which is preferable, or bank cheque... as they work on having credit card facilities for the payment.

  • Zeke's adventures

The reception was polite and helpful but the guy taking photos/encoder was soooo rude! we tried our best to be early but there are unavoidable circumstances that will cause you to be late but pls be considerate kasi wala naman bayad maging polite and considerate!

  • Cielo Lingon

Very patient, efficient and professional staff. I had all my documents ready because prior to my appointment I had been in touch with them and they respond to my questions (email) even during weekends. Special thanks to sir Ernie for that. Hope this continues.

  • peter sakkas

When going there it was extremely busy but because of the fact that I was on crutches the staff were so helpful and did my visa first even though I was behind a number of people also for those looking as to where it is, its on the 5th floor of the building

  • C T

fast professional service for passport renewal. inside the consulate is a bit chaotic, don't know where to go first and who to approach as everyone runs around all over the place. difficult to get hold of someone on the phone for queries.

  • Alex Seychell

Tried contacting along with others on several occasions, phones never get answered, or emails replied to. I think a government review is in order. No support for their own people. Very disappointing considering they are meant to assit.

  • Rai MK

I find the front desk staff condescending while they were explaining I needed an x amount of copies when I apply for such and such service. I would have come prepared if there were adequate instructions online. No photocopier, so be

  • Ivy Hughes

Terrible customer service and rude staff. No information was given by Ms. Cris on our appointment, dont even bother calling them on phone or contacting them by facebook, very rude and unprofessional staff- experienced it first hand.

  • Raquel Gamazon

Friendly staff and very helpful, thank you so much for amazing service today. NBI requirements 2-2x2 picture white background 1-passport photocopy 1-post envelope -AUD $45.00 -black pen -Level 10th floor " Be kind to everyone "

  • Wilhem Isabedra

The consulate here in Melbourne should start considering application of new passports and renewal as well since there are travel restrictions and you can't easily go to Canbera or Sydney to process them. Its frustrating …

  • Jade Cotter

Very good service in the office, they're all nice and accommodating. Don't bother calling them on the phone though, because just like in the Philippines, no one ever ever answers. (Been trying to call them for days!)

  • JE Salvador Ruero

The staff, Dennis and Edwin from Window 1, were very welcoming and friendly. My purpose was addressed in a very professional manner and no time was wasted. Kudos to them and specially the Head of the Phil Consulate.

  • Ricky John Parker

Philippine Consulate Staff have different ideas on travelling back to the Philippines compared with Philippine Airlines. Today I got 3 different answers, so once again back to emailing relevant parties again !

  • nadine rayo

The Consul General himself and Ms Cris, were very approachable and very helpful! The customer service they have provided is topnotch. I felt home just talking to them. Thank you very much for your assistance.

  • Dexter Go

They don't do passprt renewals here. I waited for an hour before they could tell me that because reception couldn't tell me if my purpose is going to be served. "You need to go to Canberra or Sydney."

  • Czarina Peralta

No one ever seems to be attending the phones when you call them during office hours. It either goes to voice mail or it hangs up - dialling for an operator is also pointless because again, no answer.

  • Maki Smith

I just spoke with one of the staff there to inquire about the possibility of having an earlier passport renewal appointment, and she just unreasonably raised the tone of her voice. So unprofessional.

  • Jeannette Santero

Had an amazing experience today with the help of Ms. Chris and Sir Edwin for my daughter's ROB and Passport application. They were both very helpful and efficient. I'm very pleased with the service.

  • Robert Garcia

Instructions were vaguely relayed and the instructions from their website doesn't match what an applicant needs. The place is spacious though. Overall 2/5, would do it again (as if I had a choice).

  • Ma. Theresa Gonzales

I am very satisfied with the process it was smooth and fast. I didn’t expect that it will only take 5-10mins with my passport renewal. The people are nice and friendly. Great job everyone☺️

  • Buena Aranda

Made a phone call just this morning and I appreciate to have gotten the information (requirements and steps) that I needed from Sir Mark. This made my day! Maraming salamat po. :) :) :)

  • Angus Lockwood

Call the office every day and have only ever been successful once in my entire life. Being somebody in Tasmania, I cannot just drive down the road to see them. PICK UP YOUR PHONES!!!

  • Kenneth Alunday

Be careful when calling and paying over the phone. One time I was there, I heard the card number read out loud. Everyone be vigilant, protect your credentials and card numbers!

  • Mia

No one answers the phone! They expect everyone to go to the embassy but they don't even follow the office hours listed on their website. Customer service is non-existent.

  • Sol Kim

Phone call response to inquiries impatient and no actual help to regards. Person cuts me off to direct me to an email even before I finish telling her the situation.

  • Graeme Hicks

Trying to ring from perth to get an appointment for a passport so i can organise flights but impossible to get through been ringing for hours but no one ever answers

  • JIZEHL GRACE CAMUA

The staffs are not friendly and they are not even smiling! Nakakadamay yung pangit na mood nila. And the man who is in-charge taking picture/encoding was very rude.

  • CampOzTV

Took a day off just to go here yet they are closed. Info not posted anywhere. Only info was posted at the door. Classic pinoy, doesn’t care about anybody’s time.

  • ryan Ortiz

It's a consular office but the attorney isn't even here on a Wednesday.... Also the Google maps address that shows is still incorrect, new location is queen st

  • Eric R.

Called to make an enquiry about an appointment and the lady that answered the phone came across as maldita! Staff should be more accommodating and friendly.

  • Ness Sheen

The staff is really helpful despite just being volunteers. If you need to know about something you can email or call them but they would only reply tue-wed

  • Shanyle Buhian

Thank you for assisting me today from passport renewal to my NBI processing your all great people with a very good friendly service keep it up God bless☺

They can be helpful, but the guy who probably does receptioning there can be rude. I've asked help from him and all he's done was just mock me.
