Bought a brand new ldv t60 trailrider back in 2020. Nothing but issues from day one. My partner drove it from hobart to launceston and back on day of collection and said it was pulling to the left and lights and night were blinding oncoming traffic. The lights were adjusted by powells so high beam wouldnt even blind traffic I ended up having to rectify it myself Fast forward to today and the pulling to the left is still there. Left tyre is worn out and all powells seem to do is wheel alignments which at this point we know isnt the issue. I have had the check engine light on 3 times every time "no fault" found but it went into limp mode anyway. Radio is now on and off and that hasnt been rectified under warranty ether. Powells also went as far as to try to charge us for the wheel alignment that we didnt ask for nor consent to. The ute has now had around 5 alignments and only 28k on the clock. If i had known that i would of had this many issues combined with the 5 year warranty that isnt worth the paper its on would never have purchased it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We bought a car that was less than 12 months old and it was almost immediately leaking oil. There was no interest in helping us from anyone in the servicing or sales department even though the car was still within the 3 month warranty. The car was left there for 2 days and we followed up with them at least 9 times. They even kept the car overnight without telling us this would be the case. We were told it was transmission oil leaking but later found out it was actually the diff meaning they hadn’t even looked at the car. There was no response to an email complaint and Facebook reviews were removed. This company will have no hesitation in screwing you over once they have their sale. Luckily the car was covered my manufacturer warranty otherwise we would have had a far harder time. Maybe they should try addressing their negative reviews rather than falsely inflating them through a competition?

Waiting for two weeks now to have a deposit returned to my bank account . I was unable to go ahead with purchase of the car due to financial reasons. Didn’t even get to the stage of looking at it. But was strongly encouraged by Stan to make a deposit. Deposit made in good faith no receipt received , nor the RACT certificate I requested!!! Numerous phone calls and messages and told something different every time but never sent any proof of deposit being transferred back to my account yet told it was ‘ on its way’ and would be in my account for sure by Thursday. Single mum of four kids. Was hoping to buy from this company in future but not after the run around. I have been patient. They were very quick to take a deposit, but it seems I may have lost my money. Not happy mainly with the lack of response would not recommend this company! Will be taking this further, buyer beware!!!

Purchased a Toyota vehicle online from this dealer in Tas without an on-site inspection. The vehicle arrived in Sydney in a fantastic condition considering its old age and high KM travelled. I was surprised that despite statutory warranty not being applicable on this old vehicle, they still fitted high-quality branded parts (e.g., NKG coils, plugs, genuine taillight, Dunlop tyres, Bendix HD brakes etc.) before shipping the vehicle to me to ensure that the vehicle was roadworthy and fit for long-term rugged use upon receipt of delivery. I had a lot of concerns on how to use my vehicle, but aftersales support was patient and was always willing help. I have had good experiences with dealers in the past and Powell is no exception; another industry role model that ensures the buyer gets what they paid for without the buyer stressing about everything on the vehicle before purchase.

Never been treated in such a misogynistic way in my life! They convinced me to put down a $500 deposit down on a car that they would bring up to the dealership the next day. Never saw the car, no offer to bring it up over the weekend even though they are open 7 days a week. I then transferred the deposit over to a second car and when I rang up to inquire about what was going on (it was listed as sold and no one had contacted me) I was told to SETTLE DOWN by the salesperson. It took my father to ring them and complain before they rang me the next day to tell me that they wouldn't accept my offer. No apologies for the way I was treated previously. Apparently to buy a car from this dealership as a female you need to have a man there to be taken seriously. Extremely disappointed and if I could give them minus stars I would.

Was looking at xr6fg Ute manual orange told was a tasmania car not brought from mainland auction yard did my research and it was from Victoria auction yard went back with copy of the auction yard checked it out but the sales lady didn't like vin# showing up on Vic roads site and auction site. Called my wife and I a liar and told us get of yard site before they called police. Untrustworthy and not professional were interested in Ute regardless of where it came from but if she was untruthful about this what else. And first time been told get of yard site before they called police. Asked around and apparently they are well know for this so I would be very to see if others been treated same way. Tasmanian a small place word of mouth is still used by all ages. They do road worthy inspection on site as well be very careful.

We have purchased two vehicles from PMG and found the service quite good. We decided to bring one vehicle in for a service, with an original quote of $500-$600. This was including a regular service as well as a timing belt. Once the vehicle was collected we were charged over $500. With no timing belt done. So $500 for an oil change and not much else. The car was left dirty from the mechanic, and was left smelling quite bad. Basic services things weren't completed, and the next service sticker is incorrect. Two hours labour was charged at $143 an hour. As per previous reviews, and common courtesy we have tried contacting PMG a couple of times to discuss and always been promised a call back that has never been returned. We will never return and will never recommend based purely off this. Very disappointing.

All used car dealers are there to do one thing… And that is basically make money… But if They can do it in a way that is reasonably fair to everyone concerned… Then they deserve a pat on the back… Yes this is a used car dealership… And their priority quite frankly is to make money Let’s call it for what it is… But in the times I’ve dealt with them they have shown they are probably the best dealership when it comes to being fair… Five stars from me. ....Let’s put it this way… Two weeks later and I’m still waiting on the mob over the road from them ...the old Motors site with the big yellow signs… to get back to me about a vehicle that I enquired about… Yet PMG Have been nothing but pleasant and on the ball…that’s a big difference

I am a Tas newcomer and I was introduced by my friend to this company. The salesman Mr Fleming shows devotion on his work and provides me a lot of useful information not only about the car but also the driving environment in Tas. I eventually bought the car few days ago. There was some tear of the front tires and I requested for the exchange with the rear tires. Surprisingly, the company installed new front tires without any extra cost . I found the car is in good condition in the past dew days. I think the company is trustworthy. I got my car with good price and satisfied with the sales service. I highly recommended this company to drivers who wish to have a fantastic buying experience.

Very misleading and deceptive. Spoke to a salesperson on the phone who was extremely pushy. Travelled 4hrs to view a 4x4 that we were promised was in impeccable condition. Upon viewing the vehicle, it was discovered that the vehicle was unroadworthy and both interior and exterior were not at all as we were lead to believe. There was significant discolouration in the paintwork and excessive wear on the interior, which did not match advertised images. Upon questioning this we were lied to by staff stating that it had not yet undergone safety inspection when we had been informed prior to viewing that it had passed inspections. Avoid at all costs

I have been a customer since last year, when I first purchased my car back on 2021 my experience was fantastic, it was a quick turn around I believe with the whole process of purchasing a vehicle it took 2 days. I recently traded in that car for another and the process was smooth and extremely quick, I test drive the vehicle on Thursday and I picked it up then following day. Stephanie and the team was amazing and very helpful, I was constantly ringing with a update and I never once felt that I was being annoying or impatient. I live in South Australia and bought a car being sold by the Powell group. I spoke to Dave Powell several times about the car over a couple of weeks and was very pleased with his honest description of the car and arrangements he made to have the car inspected and checked out. Dave even helped us with transport back to the mainland and with comprehensive car insurance at very reasonable prices. Buying a car interstate without seeing it can be risky, but I would be happy to buy a car again from the Powell Motor Group, given our recent experience. Thanks again Dave.

I bought a car of these blokes many many years ago when I was a bit short on cash. They did me a great deal on an old Volvo that they were going to wholesale out as it was a trade in. That Volvo served me well for many years given it's age, and I kept it serviced at Powell Motor Group which kept her going smoothly. I've since upgraded a few times and have bought every car through Powell Motor Group. It's a great family business and it's really handy to have a well known rapport with the Powell's and their crew, as they always go that extra mile.

Brought a vehicle from this company over the phone and unseen as i was interstate and unable to view apart from the internet, I was told it was in perfect condition, so I organised the money and flew there to pick it up, it wasn't the case once I received the vehicle, it had cosmetic damage and hadn't been serviced properly while in their car yard. Since purchasing the vehicle and driving it back home about 5 months ago, I've made multiple calls, sent multiple emails and a letter requesting a response from the owner and still no reply.

I purchased a used car from PMG a couple of years ago, and it generally was a good experience (as most of the sale reviews seem to be). However, the continued issues I have had with servicing over the past 2 years have reached a point where I can no longer continue to allow this company to service my vehicles. I guess I should have seen the light last year when only 5 minutes down the road (in peak hour traffic) the clutch went in their own “complimentary” car. If they can’t even look after their own cars what does that say…?

Visited a few months ago looking for a new car, I met Steph and she went out of her way to help me. I fell in love with the Ssangyong Musso! Ash helped me get finance sorted within a day. Bought a LC200 series last week. Salesperson Rob from Powell's was very helpful and friendly. He always returned my calls and texts and went out of his way to answer any questions that I had. They let me take the vehicle for a few hours upon the test drive. There was no sales pressure as they offered to put the vehicle on hold with a very minimal refundable deposit overnight till I made my final decision upon the following day. They rip me off they dont have a good mechanic ,, the mechanic they have dont have a clue what they are doing . , they said they have fix my car . And its oposite way my car die on the drive way have to ring someone to tow in the next morning we ring powell for how many times to get refund and we still got no answer from them and its almost 3 months now ,if you have problems with your car i dont recommend powell

In these uncertain times, the Powells team kept me advised as vehicles firstly began to be manufactured, put onto ships and finally the arrival into Australia and onward transit to Tasmania. Stephanie Powell was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS to deal with. I can't fault the Service and Follow Up. So good in fact that we decided to buy a UTE and 2 Korando Ultimates in 3 months.
