Friendly and helpful staff and there are some very interesting things to look at - however it’s all look, no touch. None of the exhibits can be ‘experienced’ and my six year old and I were in and out in less than half an hour. Even if 5 or 10% of exhibits were open for visitors to interact with would be great, but there are none…it’s much like how museums were run 20-30 years ago. If a tram, or a bus or a train could be opened up for people to walk through and sit on and interact with (like the exhibits at the Pyrmont Powerhouse museum) it would make it much, much more interesting. There were ample staff manning the kids craft table - one of them could be redeployed to man an open exhibit if there was concern about the potential for damage.

Rating: 8/10 Short Review: Very good, empty, massive, loads of exhibits. Long Review: I visited here on the weekend, in which we saw some very cool objects, vehicles, ect. The space was very big, and had a 21st century feel with old objects inside, which was very nice. I did however have a couple issues. Currently, the only parking is on the campus street, and is very sparse, I have been made aware you are working on this however. Besides that, there was only small things such as not everything being labelled ect, but overall, great!

I don't think it was very kid friendly as the labels weren't that informative and there wasn't anything interactive. I just thought it would have those things since this museum is connected with the powerhouse museum. There is a wide collection of interesting items and the tour guides are great if you can get one. It is a very new, clean and is a reasonably sized museum but I think Sydney has a few better museums than this one. Also note, there is some parking on sit although it says there isn't on the website (especially a few handicap spots).

Fantastic! Awesome! Almost Amazing and Free!!!! If you're like us and love the Power House museum, then you'll love this place. It's a storage facility for some of the other museums. On a rainy Saturday we found this place. The staff were really informative, happy, helpful and warm (my partner's word). If your kids like looking at cars, trains, toys, models, animals, robots and everything in-between or if you're like me and like classic cars and motorcycles then check out this museum, a pretty good way to spend a couple of hours with the fam.

A small-ish museum, dedicated to storage of other museum's unused exhibits. Some stuff from Powerhouse (old appliances, engines, vehicles), some from Australian Museum (skeletons, stuffed animals). Overall, it's quite interesting, but lacks any operating objects, and so is closer to a "traditional" museum. On a plus side, it was pretty much empty on a weekday (being closed on weekends). For a $10 entry fee, I say it's certainly worth checking out when you have a free couple of hours on a weekday, but probably not a place I'd frequent.

Bunch of old and antique stuff. Trigger memory of old mechanical things like swing machines, cars, printing equipment, etc plus architectural representation of early 1900s and late 1800s houses in Sydney. You may find lots of things that you do not know what had been use of them. There is acsection for a lot of exotic or unseen plants. Nice to visit specially that it is free on weekends.

This is the best museum I've ever went to! I came to see a replica of the Mars Rover! It was fantastic, next, I went to a place where you can make food with art supplies like coloured string, cardboard and wool sheets. There was a place where you could cut fruit and it was oddly satisfying when I cut it. I definitely recommend

I'm so glad there is a toddler play area on the ground floor level. My 6 yo boy could explore around. My almost 2 yo daughter can just sit & play after 1 lap around the museum (we didn't really expect her to appreciate the items yet). Perfect for a quick visit. We stayed for about an hour or so. And also, they're expanding, so we're gonna be back for that! Hopefully it would still be free entry by then.

A wonderful exhibition showcasing a range of artefacts from the past. It wasn't too busy (2:30pm) and entry is free. A great place for families and kids to spend a couple of hours. There is sheltered seating outside and on grass area where you could bring a picnic lunch. Definitely worth checking out.

Museums Discovery Centre is a 6 Stores museum located in Castle Hill. It’s an amazing but brief collection of the history of human discoveries and progress. Much smaller than the main museum located in Sydney CBD but definitely worth to explore and enjoy its unique collections. A great choice for families with kids. Free entry with plenty of car parks. Highly recommended.

Lots of great content for kids and grown ups.

A wonderful museum for kids or adults wanting to reminisce. Plenty of items in the exhibits which range from household goods (old style TVs, washing machines, sewing machines and furniture) to vehicles and steam engines, toy replicas from various eras. All for free! There's a very limited food selection inside so better to bring your own.

You can see some history of Australian life. Le toro cars, aircrafts, TVs, washing machines. There are other collections of dollies. However, I was wondering why there are Japanese antique collections in this museum. And these were quite valuable and precious. They should ask to give an opinion on some ancient items.

Very good Museum. Very well maintained and the staff is amazing. They also engage visitors by having a game like "Guess the Object". Even small event it was very well handled and even encouraged young one to participate. Would definitely recommend!! Kudos to the staff once again!!

We had a great time with the kids at the discovery centre. We spent about an hour and half exploring the exhibits and participating in tours and activities. The place is wheelchair and pram friendly, has toilets and a outdoor picnic area.

Amazing museum. During covid the current 1 hour session is not enough to look in all the drawers and explore this place thoroughly. Will be returning and booking a double session to get around to everything. Need a few hours to explore if you want to read the info cards.

I have taken my family here on a number of occasions over the years. There are enough items for everyone to see and be interested in and because this museum changes their items on display, there is often something new to see if you visit more than once.

A small place but have a lot to see. My kid loves this museum because there is a lot of trains, cars, and few animals. We spent 45 mins to walk around and the staff were very friendly! It would be great if they would have more products in the shop.

This is also part of the Powerhouse Museums (Ultimo, Parramatta by 2023 and the Sydney Observatory Park in Barangaroo). The museum is undertaking construction works to expand its museum into the nearby TAFE Castle Hill site.

It was a pleasant finding on a such museum in Hills District. It has similar exhibits as what you can see from Power House Museums but in smaller contents. Worth a max half day visit with family if you live around the area.

Took the grandkids and had a great time. Interesting items on display with enough variety to keep them interested. Very friendly staff.

Visited today with family of 2 school kids which was great for a rainy Sunday. Spent 2 hours as at 1:30pm another section with Olympic 2000 costumes etc was opened. Parking is free. Clean toilets. Best musuem in west.

It's a really nice place. The only disappointing thing is that we thought it would be more interactive, e.g. allow the kids to go into some of the old cars, buses, airplanes, etc. But definitely worth a visit.

Hard to get into but it’s a nice small not really museum but showground. There are many friendly staff and cool objects there as well as interactive screens tours. A bit deserted. limited parking as well.

My nine year old daughter did a stop motion film workshop and really enjoyed it. We found the electric car interesting.

Interesting and informative exhibits from 1800's to present and also few from earlier era. About 1.5 to 3 hrs to go through the place depending how interested you are. Good for a day out

Great museum but the shop is such a disappointment, really needs more science books and such that talk about whats in the museum. Was more art books and such more then anything else.

A really nice place to visit that is very well organised and presented. The kids loved it and the volunteers were eager to help and assist. A fabulous morning and highly recommended.
