I lost a pair of sterling silver earrings at the Birmingham Snowhill Puregym. When I informed one of the PTs at the gym that I had lost my earrings there, he was very helpfully able to find them for me and send me a picture of them. He informed me he left the earrings on the table in the staffroom along with some other less significant lost items (I think one of them was simply a rolled up piece of velcro which remained on the table) and sent a picture to the staff group chat informing them that someone was coming to pick the earrings up and that they had been left on the table for that reason. For some incomprehensible reason, someone took it upon themselves to chuck my earrings in the huge clear container the gym uses to put all of the lost items in but left the rolled up velcro on the table. This was a breach of their lost property policy which requires them to keep smaller items like my silver earrings separately. These concerns have been raised with Kerry Peters, the gym manager, who did not do anything to resolve this issue. My earrings were a gift of sentimental value. I am hugely disappointed in the way the gym treated my lost property.
Been at this gym for about a month and I'm really not a fan. A lot of the machines I've used are is need of replacing with missing bolts and grips. It's such a weird shape of a gym also. Long and narrow. My final straw was today when someone had left the case for their wireless earbuds on a treadmill, I tried to hand them into a staff member as I was leaving and was basically told that's its not his problem because his shift is finished and I needed to go back in to find the cleaner and give them to her. I couldn't find a cleaner. Just really disappointing if that's the culture with staff and maybe why I get the feeling the place is quite run down. That's my only experience of the staff so maybe others are better but I'm yet to see any staff cleaning equipment or being visible at all really. Going to change my home gym to one a bit further but hopefully a nicer environment with staff that care.
Probably one of the smaller puregyms ive been too. I didnt have an overly enjoyable or great experience when i attended. There were no large lockers available in the womens changing room which was frustrating considering i had a large bag with me. Toilets wernt clean and there was loads of wet and dry tissues scattered in the cubicles. There wasnt a large array or variety of strength equipment in the gym either and subsequently, it was a battle getting onto equipment and there were queues for everything. There were also x3 students who hogged a cable machine for the entirety of my 1.5+hours at the facility. My workout which should take around an hour took almost double that. Overall dissapointed and i wouldn't use this gym if i was in the area again.
This is a great place to have a decent workout. I try not to be negative in my reviews but I only go on what I see. Unfortunately even though there are signs for people to wear face coverings or masks when people are moving around from equipment to equipment many are ignoring this. Which is a shame. A plus point is that many are still wiping their equipment down before and after they've used it. The staff are generally good. However there are one or two who are quite happy to leave or ignore any untidy areas even though they walk past them more than a few times. But I'm there to workout and it's what I pay my membership for. And I can't complain about the price and what I get for it.
I am using this gym for about 3 months now, and can’t say anything bad. Maybe I would extend the classes for different kind of stretching and yoga/pilates types of excercises. I really like the cardio zone machines, but when it’s busy, it’s not that easy to use machines for toning and building our muscles. I would reccomwnd to add some more stuff into here. The negative thing is the lack of sun light since this place has almost no windows. The app is great and gives you lots of great tips, 24/7 opening time is great, too! And I love these small lockers located in the gym area. To me, a water in shower is too cold and in general, there should be some heater in female changing room.
Brand new gym, runs 24/7. Great facilities and many classes, although a bit short (most are 30 minutes, only a few trainers do 45min) and with little variety. Also they depend greatly on the trainers, some put more into it than others. Some classes are extra (yoga) and quite expensive compared to the membership fee, 4-5£ per class. Their Pure Loser program is a complete waste of time. GOOD FOR YOU if you have your own workout plan, live nearby and like to exercise on your own or with a friend. NOT FOR YOU if you're looking for great support from trainers and quality and variety of classes.
Very small gym that lacks a lot of equipment, the smaller free weights are located in the studio upstairs, which constantly has classes on so you can’t grab them. There’s other bits of equipment like boxes and plates kept in there which is unfair to other gym users who don’t want to do the class, but need some of the equipment. There isn’t enough space to stretch out/do workouts that aren’t machine focused. The gym floor is also carpeted, just imagine how many body fluids are embedded in the carpet! can’t wait to finish my one month membership
PureGym Birmingham Snow Hill Plaza is a modern and spacious gym offering a range of equipment and facilities to help visitors achieve their fitness goals. The gym features state-of-the-art cardio and weightlifting equipment, as well as a variety of fitness classes, personal training options, and a sauna. The gym is open 24/7, making it convenient for those with busy schedules. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing a welcoming environment for visitors of all fitness levels.
Not massively impressed. All the hand sanitizer stations have been empty for almost a month now. For a gym that has announcements about how clean and safe they are every 15 minutes it seems a bit ironic. None of the vending machines work either and there's alot of space that could be utilised but puregym clearly don't want to spend any more money. The only positive is that the gym is never really busy but it's clearly for a reason.
Good gym overall, but oversubscribed. There are times when there are simply not enough machines. And if you try to go in the morning, all the equipment and weights is disorganised and untidy. The gym should do something to keep the weighted and rooms as tidy as possible? Otherwise there is point in coming because you'll spend your time searching for weights and equipment, which isn't great
After leaving a negative review on the conditions of the gym and lack of cleaning supplies such as paper towels, spray bottles empty, and general cleanliness of the facility. I am happy to say that standards have improved massively. The manager is being very proactive and keeping the gym to a high standard. Such as cleaning machines to the actual gym . Thank you for your hard work.
last week I had bad experience at this gym my locker was broken in to and all my stuff was stolen it was late in the evening and ther was only a few customer ther I reported it to the police and haven't hurd from them also I tryd contacting the manger of pure gym but can't get a hold of him I won't recommend this gym to anyone please stay safe. moslem rezaei
Low quality and old equipment, filthy, untidy, men’s changing room lockers are flimsy and most of them are broken/have been broken into. During the first three weeks of the one month I was a member there was no soap in the toilets of the men’s changing room, the hand dryer didn’t work either, this is the standards of cleanliness you can expect in this gym.
Started the gym yesterday lost my ID and Keys which I left accidentally and luckily they were safe in lost property. Nice environment, was anxious to go but after like 10 mins I realised the atmosphere was great even at a peak time. Went again this morning, équipement was straight forward and It’s a great place to start your gym journey. Thanks.
Well Equipped Gym and has regular classes. Not going to be suitable for everyone as it is near the outskirts of the city but good for people who work nearby. Can get busy in the evenings but mornings are quite sparse. Logging in to the website give you useful info in terms of classes available and how many members are currently in the gym.
Quite a small gym, only 3 squats, quite a few benches in the free weights section, dumbells go up to 50kg. One Smith machine. Not too busy. The gym is fairly clean but quite messy, the equipment is often in the wrong place or left on the floor. Far too many treadmills. I wish there were more squat racks and a hip thrust machine.
Nice and clean gym. Not too busy. Alot of equipment so you wont be standing in queue for your turn. Only down side is that there is no staff so if you get stuck, u ll have to call for help using help points and it can take sometime for someone to come and help you. Other than that it's a clean decent gym.
Free weights on Ground floor. Cardio & weight resistance plus changing rooms on first floor. Only minor criticism (admin related) was that when offering a free 7 day trial, that option should be available in the app. Each time a member of staff had to let me in and out, which took time.
While not as much diverse classes are being offered in this location as in other pure gyms, I enjoy how much more clean this gym is. The lockers and the actual gun areas are in good condition, and everyone is really friendly, nice place to get a quick workout in before/after work.
Great gym, good equipment. Every part of muscle group can be done there, the only negative thing about this gym is that is always packed. I went before and after work. To see when it is less busy. But it's always packed. Great to see so many people being active! Keep it up guys.
Really nice gym. It’s clean, lots of equipments, staff are polite and active, always there to make the gym look tidy by picking up weights and putting them down in the right place. Within Birmingham City Centre, this is by far the best PureGym in the area! Highly recommend it.
This gym is so oversubscribed that there is no point going in between 6 and 8pm because you will not find a free machine. You can expect between 100 to 130 people in the gym at that time. This gym has 2 leg presses and 3 squat racks. These are literally *always* being used.
Gym is ok and clean but facility needs proper renovation also equipment overused ,changing room lockers wobbly ...rubber grips missing on the lots of the equipments... in comparison with my regular go to puregym in Mansfield this one here is miles behind at the moment
Avoid this gym- there is not enough equipment if you want to do any sort of workout involving weights. The actual gym is quite large but most of it its treadmills / bikes. If you go at any sort of normal time expect all the squat racks and benches to be occupied
A very overall great gym with plenty of machines. Spacious and clean. All machines working with different types to choose from. Staff members are friendly. PTs with great knowledge and kindness. Would definitely RECOMMEND this gym as its a excellent GYM! …
This gym opened in December 2016 with all be equipment. There are classes lots of, cardio equipment and 10 free weight benches. Only one Olympic lifting rack. There are lockers and showers in the changing room. It's clean and the equipment is well spaced.
The third gym I've been a member of and the best by far. Only minor complaint is that the changing rooms aren't quite big enough/laid out most effectively. Otherwise facilities are great and the trainers are brilliant - friendly and knowledgeable.
I have joined the "Puregym Snow Hill" not long ago. It was a huge change for me as I have never done any form of sport exercises before. The Gym itself is at good localization and with friendly environment. I knew, that without an expert it
I used to regularly go to Pure gym on Broad Street but have since stopped now that this gym has opened. I was so fed up with the one on Broad Street, the staff there just seemed so lackadaisical and clearly looked like they didn't want to
The santizers are empty a lot of the time. Most of the lockers are broken. And the roof leaks sometimes. You can tell in some places it has leaked before with stains on the walls and ceilings. Only good thing is lots of cardio machines.
A great spacious gym but two major problems. Parking is £8 a day for 2 hours at the NCP next door and the low carbon zone charge coming up is also £8. £8 a day plus membership is not financially viable let alone £16 a day.
Large gym with massive amounts of cardio machines along with a downstairs free weight area and good size studio. However they need more pods to enter and exit the gym as there have been queues every tome I have been.
I found the staff very friendly and willing to help you if your not sure how to use the facilities. They have showers and drinking fountain. It's busy before work, lunch, and after work, but not so busy in between.
Great gym, brand new facilities and the staff are very enthusiastic and helpful. As a result classes are immersive and full of energy. It has nice big windows with a view, if that's your thing while working out.
Sam Heseltine is an awesome Trainer. He always pushes us to achieve targets during the classes. I have become a regular gym goer because of him. Keep up the good work SAM. A great asset to Pure Gym Snow hill.
Good gym. Many different equipments. 24 hours access. Good location. Changing rooms are closed from 12 am until 5 am, but there a shower outside of the changing room which makes 24/7 gym amazing!
Like all pure gyms, it's just about ok, for a commercial gym. When you get past the ego lifters and folk who have NO Clue what to do. It's a wonder that folk are not injuring themselves.
Great gym. Multiple equipments, you don't have to wait for anyone. Good support staff. 24 hours access. Has an underground parking place though I think it's paid parking. Great location.
Decent recently opened gym. Prices are competitive with other low cost gyms in the city centre. Never have issues with equipment being free, and open 24/7. Overall a decent low cost gym.
Actually this was the first time I've been to snow Hill as my gym at five ways the men's changing rooms were being repaired, so yeah excellent facilities really clean I liked it.
Lovely building. Free weights area is small in comparison to five ways but it's really nicely built and designed. Changing rooms are quite luxurious considering what you pay.
Good gym but lacks a few bits of equipment I've seen/used at other gyms (The Gym, etc). Gets quite busy due to being smaller and having a lot of people come in after work
An amazing gym with so many equipment. The environment is neat and cool. Gym subscription includes classes and a comprehensive fitness app. Definitely worth the money!
PROS Gym was really clean including changing rooms and showers, staff were available on the floor, the cardio and resistance machines were all pretty new and all in
The gym has lots of equipment, I don’t really like the layout, the cardio room upstairs needs more weights in it. The gym has a very cold vibe, needs more colour.
Great gym, chill staff everyone is cool here overall, be warned if your going after work from 4:45-6 it’s rammed and most of the times have to wait for equipment
Is it a great gym with great facilities? Yes. Is it a bro gym that isn't friendly for women? Also yes. I wouldn't recommend it for women. It's dark and all men.
I went to PureGym today with a day pass and liked it as It was easy to find your way round the gym itself and the machines n weights areas were really clean.
Work out in fantastic surroundings at our great-value gym in the centre of Birmingham. Everything you need to hit your fitness targets is here,
Great location just beside the office. Really busy but then so are all the pure gyms the owner must be lovin it. Equipment needs upgrading.
Clean, tidy and the trainers are nice. They do not judge beginners that I have seen :) As a beginner myself it was nice to feel safe
Dirty place disgusting smell when are busy people didn't take a shower any manger I lost my stuff in a locker
Large bright spacious. Loads of great quality kit. Friendly inviting atmosphere.
Got stolen in the female changing room, Then no staff here at 4pm on Friday…
PureGym Always is Clean n the workout areas are always easy Excessive
Good gym. Not super crowded. Consists all the necessary equipment.
The showers in the gents are not warm enough or cleaned enough.
The gym place where I can get all the gym equipments in spare.
Never any soap in mens changing room / bathroom
