So far this has been the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I have been with them for two weeks and already they put my account negative from a system error and then someone was supposed to fix it and instead left it negative the exact amount of what I get paid. They then take my money , and have been running me through loops for two days to get MY money back . I was never supposed to be negative , I was very clearly told it was an error on their end , and still they have not returned my money. They keep playing games and everytime I call and tell them to leave specific notes, they say they do but then no one ever sees any notes on my account for anything. They tell me I will receive a call immediately from a branch manager and instead i wait hours , try to call the manager myself , only to find out they don’t have a direct phone line for my home branch ? So I’m told I will get a call from the manager right away . Still not a single call and everytime I call they just okay the same games . I’m so done with this branch already .
I would advise against having any dealings with their employee, Mukesh. During an interaction regarding an issue with my credit card, which was no longer appearing in the RBC bank system due to an error by their clerk, Dima, Mukesh's conduct was far from professional. Instead of assisting me at the appointment, he displayed a rude, aggressive, and abrasive demeanor. It seemed as though he was more inclined to defend the clerk's actions rather than address my concerns. Mukesh attempted to coerce me into leaving by refusing to escalate the matter to his superior, behaving as if he owned the branch. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to speak with his supervisor. Based on this experience, I strongly discourage any interaction with Mukesh, particularly if you're facing a staff-induced error or have special needs or disabilities. His apparent disdain for such clients, coupled with his lack of ethical and moral professionalism, makes for an unpleasant experience.
Watch out depositing your cash via the bank tellers at this branch! I had an African Canadian male teller take my cash, only actually deposited half of my money on my receipt. Thankfully I caught it before I walked out of the bank. Walked right back up to him holding my cash on “the side”. Beware of scammer bank tellers at this branch. I understand that city centre is a glorified homeless shelter, but I’m 100% confident this wasn’t an unintentional error on this tellers part. The look on his face when I confronted him, you can tell he has done this intentionally before to unaware banking customers. Which is why, I’ll never step foot in this RBC ever again.
I stopped by to open a new checking account. I had to actually make an appointment to do so the following afternoon! All offices there have doors and the tellers are at tiny desks with NO counter. For a person walking in the 1st time, it's confusing where to stand or line up. Very disappointed to get an ugly card with smeared writing by the teller and they're not even chipped! Was told I couldn't use it anywhere except Royal Bank Atm's. And was told the only place the debit card had any deals was .03 cents off per liter at Petro Canada gas stations. Really? That's it! Lol. This place really needs to get with the times. Your card rewards are terrible!
I wish I could remember her name but the younger woman with long curly black hair , black framed glasses and wing tipped eyeliner was an absolute angel and a gem. I never do reviews like this but I hope she sees it because she truly made my day. I could tell some customers a head of me were giving some staff grief because of the wait time and I could tell she was a bit flustered because of it but after a minute of chatting with her I could tell she just needed to interact with a customer that wasn't in a rush! Hope management sees this and gives her some kudos. Keep up the great work! I'll always wait for her if she's working up front. :) <333
This review is more reflective of RBC in general than this specific branch. Was approved for a credit card on October 25 and received an email that day saying it will be 7-10 business days until the card arrives. As of Nov 18 (17 business days) nothing received. You call RBC and they give you no information on where your card is and forward you to the branch it’s getting mailed to (this branch). No one answers the phone, which is understandable I’m sure they’re busy, they tell you to leave a voicemail but their VM box is full! Extremely frustrating and an awful first impression of RBC.
I had by far the worst bank employee I've ever met today at this location. I came in with a simple request and was treated so rudely I didn't even bother trying to make a transaction in the end and just left. It was an Asian guy, 2 actually. They were making faces, snarking, talking in another language to each other. It's not too surprising to me that RBC branches and terminals are closing all over the city. This banks time is past, do yourself a favour and go find a competent one where they know how to treat their customers.
Baseline SHERWOOD PARK BRANCH Very frustrating, I went to cash out my own money and was very rudely declined. I totally don't understand its my money she denied to hand me cash or etrans. A LADY WITH A GLASSES AT THE FRONT SHE IS A RASIST ,SHE said I need to drive to all over RBC Sherwood park to cash out. It is a joke when you can't access to your own money and drive around the town to knock at different branches to beg for you own money
The slowesr branch in history!!! The lady at the business side with black framed glasses is so slow and the worst person to get suggestions from in terms of anything in banking , with her rude atitude and not friendly tone and facial expressions. Awfull expeience all the time and infortunatly i have to keep coming because it is so close to work!! I hate this branch!! 0 stars if there would be that option.
I think the worst thing a bank can do is have people working the front counter not helping customers when there is a huge line... Whi h is exactly what this branch does every time I come in, and I don't do things requiring a teller often. I also ordered foreign currency and was told they'd notify me when it came in... I didn't get notified and only found out it was here after I called. Terrible
Saw an unhelpful and condescending customer service person about a simple issue that wasn’t resolved. Tried to resolve the issue with the branch manager who was impossible to get in touch with and when I finally did was unwilling to resolve the issue either. After 20+ years with Royal Bank I am switching to another bank with better service and no service fees.
I have been a customer with RBC since I was 12. I have regretted it at many locations - but never this one. I will shout out to so many staff there for always being quick to serve with a smile. I don't go often but when I do they show genuine interest in me and any questions I have. Always go here, not the ones on the north end.
Good teller experience. But the young man that I had a meeting with about a line of credit, was not smart. He kept leaving our meeting to ask other staff questions. At the end he gave up on trying to help me and told me there was nothing he could do. There was a lot more problems with him but they shouldn't be posted publicly.
I wish I could remembered who helped me, but it was a nice young lady. I came in full and ready to be grumpy with a banking issue, but she helped me with my problem with solutions I had not yet thought of. Thank you again lovely bank teller. Thank you.
This RBC location is indifferent to clients and it is almost impossible to reach a human being. The phone number is never picked up at this location. One number goes to voicemail and the other goes to an incompetent AI telerobot.
My first time at this branch today, it was beyond amazing. I would like to place on record the truly exceptional experience I had at this branch today with Mariam, she is positive and professional.
this is the worst banking experience of my entire life. these people gave no manager, no education and no clue how to treat their customers. I wont be back. ever. ever.
There could be 6 staff members standing around with one person actually serving a lineup of customers alone. They really don’t care.
Your kingsway location is an empty building that google maps brought mentonfrom the north end a hournlongnbusnriden
The staff there care about every client and treat you like you count everytime.
Slow service. No attempts to improve wait times after many visits.
This branch for some reason is exceptionally terrible.’
Got my money even though I bank at another bank
The customer service manager is the best
Choose A Different Bank !!!!
Great service …
Worst experience ever.
Excellent place.
